Karisna, of course, had work to do. Of course.
There was no way, to be fair, the Weyr could waste the labor of able bodied young people by JUST having the Candidates do lessons. But she would rather be dancing or exploring than...
...getting lost in stores. She had to face it. One of the riders had asked her to please be a dear and find her more shampoo in stores. Oh yes, and it had to be the right kind, too.
Please be a dear. She was assigned to run whatever errands the riders did not want to...or have time to...do themselves. Not to mention the rider concerned was kind of pretty...not enough to make Kari jealous, but still kind of pretty.
Maybe she would snag two bottles of shampoo. Who would notice? And Candidates were allowed to be pretty, surely.
But that would require finding the stuff. "Faranth. This place is just way too *huge*."

Miri walked into the store-room, and noticed someone else was in here. "hey- you're in this chore section, too? great! because i have to get a rider something.. i think it was sandsoap... i dunno how ayone could run out, but i came here, cause its my chore-section. oh. by the way, my name's Miri- what's yours?" wow, miri thought, im really hyper today! should oppologise for talking so fast... she'd rather be in her brother's chore section, helping the healer, than doing errands for other riders.

Karisna hrmed. "I'm betting sand soap is stored in the same section as shampoo, which is what *I* am supposed to be getting."
She frowned. "Do you have any clue where that might be? I am starting to think I should have asked for a map to this place."
The drudges and workers who came down here all the time no doubt knew it off by heart, but Karisna had no such advantage. And if she was lucky, she would not need to remember everything anyway...she would Impress and be able to get other people to run *her* errands.
Well, within reason. She was determined she would never be the kind of rider who sent Candidates on meaningless trips. This one was fine, but she had heard things...

Miria smiled at karisna. "i think i might be able to find it- although ur right!" she laughed "a map might be useful!" Miri walked closer to the other girl, and climbed up onto a foot stool. peeping into the shelf just abovve her head-level, she called out. "Hey! i think i found it... or at least, theres some containers in here- and ones filled with sand-colored stuff, the other with a lilac-colored gunk!" Miri reached up, but her arm couldnt reach the things. "karisna, you're taller than me- can you see if thats it? i looked over here cause of the little image of a bathtub on the shelf- things go by pictures, it seems. if its the right things, could you get my soapsand too?" Miria asked the other candidate. Karisna was quite tall, and- miri thought- what a man might find beautiful. Miri thought this was a good discription of her fellow candidate, sensous, one might say. although karisna was... beter-looking than miria, she found nothing pushing her away from the girl. she ddnt care what the girl looked like, only a tiny spark of envy stirred, deep insde her. "im good at finding things, but not so good at reaching them." Miri was slnder, bean-pole-ish, but not very tall. but having a friend talle than her might be halpful, and fun! of course, Miri still had to bring the soapsand back to the rider, but, you know, minor details...

Karisna laughed. "Or we could just use this." She padded along the shelves and came back half carrying, half dragging a step stool. "See. This should make it easier."
She hopped up onto it. "Aha. You're right. Sweetsoap, body wash, shampoo...shampoo..." She handed down the sweetsoap, but kept looking.
"Hold on...here we go, found it. The rider had a specific fragrance in mind, I had to find the right one." She made a face. "When...eh. I guess it wasn't a pointless errand, and they do have a lot of work to do."
Especially the riders of the queens, bronzes, and tans. At least she was safe from that...she was pretty sure, anyway. Likely there wouldn't even be a violet in the clutch and certainly not a gold.
No gold would pick her anyway. "So. What color are you hoping to Impress? I rather like the new ones that are sort of silver green with violet markings. Barreds."
But she'd settle for a green, too.

OOC: Please do NOT godmod. Posting my character doing anything, even something that innocuous, is just not done.
"Well, there won't be a gold in the clutch, from what I was told by the searchrider. Small chance of a violet. But I don't want a queen anyway." She hopped down from the stool. "Green's pretty likely, of course, and there's nothing wrong with greens at all. Well, unless you're a boy. We know what a boy Impressing green means."
She paused. "Although, some boys probably don't mind. I'd hate to be some thirteen year old lad who didn't know his own sexuality yet, though, and Impressed green. What a way to find out."
Of course, a lot of blueriders...of both sexes...were supposed to be that way too. She wondered if she liked girls enough to be in 'danger' of Impressing a blue. Well, she supposed she wouldn't mind getting a male dragon. Heck, girls Impressed brown sometimes, too, and browns were very handsome.
She determined to keep an open mind when it came to the Sands.

OOC: I don't want you to do that. No disappearing! We need all the Candidates we can get for this clutch.

((ooc:okay, i guess im not leaving. i just get confused and irritated too easily ^_^ hey- you know what ''ooc'' actually means?))
miri chuckled at what karisna had said. "yeah, i'd feel bad for anyone that happened to, not knowing!" Miria liked karisna, a pretty god friend, although miri didnt make many of those... "hmm, i probably wont impress a green, but id really have no problem with that color. it'd be weird, though, to be a female greenrider and realize that some of those blueriders- the guys- have no interest in you, only their dragons. unless, of course, you prefer that, which theres nothing wrong with!" She hurried to say, in case her words might be taken wrongly by karisna. she, after all, did not know the girl's prefereces, at least, not in that field. 'maybe i should change the subject... maybe she will? i dont want to get too far into this- i might insult her!' Miri thought worriedly. she grinned at the other candidate anyway.

OOC: It means 'out of character'.
Karisna laughed. "I don't really care. And if they don't have interest in me, well, then, I just scratch them off the potential weyrmate list."
Honestly, she thought she was more likely to weyrmate, if she did, with a woman. Simply because women were less likely to be threatened by a mate who went either way.
"Greens are common. A lot of us will Impress green. I hear the barreds are fairly common, too."
She'd definitely be happy with either of those colors. She wasn't so sure about a male, or about one of the larger females. At least she was 'safe' from Impressing gold and ending up being asked to run a Weyr. She was pretty sure she would be absolutely no good at that at all!
