Well, this was a turn in her life. Not one Kari would ever have expected.
Karisna, rider of... Well, that would come, and was not a guarantee. However, she would cross the bridge of NOT Impressing when she came to it. There was a clutch on the Sands...one that would not contain a queen, but that was fine.
She didn't want a queen, she wanted something small and agile that could dance in the air and pull stunts no gold or bronze could manage.
She'd asked. The clutch was sired by tan Apolloth, out of violet Jorindath. A pretty name that second. And a good number of eggs for a violet queen.
There were firelizards absolutely everywhere. She'd also seen one greenrider with a strange orange creature.
With all the firelizards around, maybe she could get herself one of those, too. She had tried, but...
Okay. She had always ended up spending her marks on jewelry instead of eggs. She knew that was a weakness, but as long as she did not starve herself to have her shinies? She had even considered becoming a jeweler, or at least learning enough of that craft to make her own.
The one downside to riding a dragon, she thought. She would have to wear trousers more. For now, though, she just set her bag down on what was obviously an unoccupied cot.
"Hola. Is there anyone here?"
