Miri looked around the barracks with faint distaste. "these are smaller than my ROOM at home! i cant believe we have to be squeezed together like this! arent we important?!" Miri huffed in a whiny tone. shuffling her feet in their pale brown boots, She entered her barracks, which she shared with two other candidates. her tawny-furred feline kit Ava padded in after her. "i just hope the hatching's soon, i dont want to stay in here longer than i have to. Miri dropped her satchel onto the bed, poking the rushes-matress with a finger. "i want to be a dragonrider, but i cant hold with living in the conditions my hold's drudges would have!" one of her new roommates walked past, the girl snorted in amusement. "i guess you'll have to live and deal with it! hey, you should check which chores you are to do- all of us have 'em!" the girl walked out, and an annoyed Miri dropped to the bed. picking the kit up, Miri pet Ava, who's soothing purrs calmed the haughty hold-bred girl, and her expression relaxed from it's narrowed look. *sigh* "Miri smiled at Ava, and dunpacked her bag of belongings, pulling her favorite quilt our of it's rolled-up position and laying it neatly onto her bed. although the rushes poked through the fabric of the matress, and the room was tiny, she noticed it was all good-quality. the wooden suports for her bed frame were smooth honey-toned wood, with dark swirls all over that looked a bit like a dragon at times, and were highly polished. the fabric of the matress was a deep crimson in color, no skimped on the dye of it. the spoiled candidate continued unpacking her bag into the small box-cabinet. when she was done, Miri did not know what to do. the girl had told her to find out her chores, but Miri wasnt ready for THAT yet. Ava scampered out the door as miri stood up, causing the feline to fall off her lap. hissing, Ava ran down the hall and around a corner. "now what do i do?" Miri wondered out loud, pacing around the small space...

Miri paced around the tiny space, which really wasnt all that small at all, and tried to think of things to do. "at home, i never had this problem, but il just have to make the best of it if i want the chance of impression! maybe illl meet some other candidates at the bathing pools?..." Miri trailed off, leaving the room to search for that.....

Esskin stood in the bathing room, cradling his towel in his arms as he looked over the empty pool. He hadn't realized that the bathing pools were public. This was certainly different from the Hold. He wasn't embarrassed, really, just surprised. Stepping up to the edge, he kicked off his shoes, then quickly undressed.

Shivering slightly, he put his feet into the water, testing it. The water was warm. Sighing, he slipped into the water and leaned back against the edge. This was nice. Smiling, he closed his eyes and let his mind wander, quite unaware that there was a girl coming towards the room at that moment.

Miri wandered into the room, looking around, and smiled "i found it!" then she noticed the boy half-submerged in the water who had his eyes closed. Miri blinked were the bathing pools PUBLIC?! apparently- Miri walked nervously over to the side of the pool, and put down her towel. Miri cleared her throat. "um.. hey there... uh, could you not look while i get in? thanks" She said, in case he opened his eyes while she was naked. Miri really had no problem with public bathing, but she was still nervous, being hold-bred. she bent down to get her towel, and the boy looked up at her, startled.....

Esskin let out a little gasp when he heard someone behind him. Not really hearing the words, he opened his eyes and found himself face-to-face with a very naked young woman. His cheeks flushed bright red. Esskin might say that he was unfazed by things like that, but in reality it was a shock to see someone else in the nude. He was Hold bred, so he'd never bathed with others before.

"Oh! Sorry!" he exclaimed, turning around again and squeezing his eyes shut. He also put his hand over his eyes, to make it clear that he wasn't looking any more. "Er...It was a mistake, I promise."

Miria winced. she HAD told the boy not to look, but he hadcovered his eyes anyway. but she could see he was embarased, so she climbed into the pool, a bit farther away from the other candidate.
((ooc: he is a candidate, right? and arent they in separate bathing pools according to ame? anyway, i guess well continue it for now?))

"it's okay, i actually didnt want to embarras either you or me more than necesary." miri chuckled a bit. "
miri wondered why he was so nervous. 'maybe he's hold-bred too?' she thought to herself. she busied herself with her soap sand, facing away from him the whole time. seeing a naked female's back was most certainly not the same as the front, so hopefully her turning away would alow him to.. regain his cool.
"the water's really warm, very nice. you know how it stays warm?" she tried small-talk. "oh- what's your name, anyway?!" she realized she hadn't asked him before.
