A sprained wrist had finally shown N'ren the advantage of Johannesth's laid back attitude towards life. If usual work like giving baths was going to be tougher with one hand bound in wraps, well, he could wait. Jo would rather be lying in the sun than standing in chilly water anyway.
What had impressed N'ren was when his Tan was actually slightly helpful when putting on riding straps before their earlier sweep rather than halfway sleeping through the process. Putting them on with one and a half hands would have been a daunting task otherwise.
At least getting them off was very easy, hurt wrist or no. Now N'ren was getting lunch a little early, fending off noisy Torch with his wrapped hand and stuffing food into his mouth with his other. Tak was back in their weyr, sleeping with Johannesth. The Tan had been a bad influence on the old Brown flitter; N'ren would have liked having Tak here to keep Torch in line. N'ren's sprained wrist was a temporary ache, but Torch had been and would be forever irritating.

Aches were definitely irritating. So, right now, were Kagens. "Blossom. Stop. Wait." That would be T'mar's voice, the greenrider coming into the kitchens. Of course, his aptly named bronze was often more trouble than the peach kagen.
Just not today. He finally caught her, picking her up off the ground so that her legs scrabbled for a moment. "Silly kagen," he informed her. "Oh, hi there, N'ren." Lunch. Lunch was a good idea, he decided, as Freyjath wasn't demanding his attention right at that moment.
Not that she was a particularly demanding dragon. He often had to nudge her to take what he felt she was due.

OOC: Blossom should up and have babies.
"Hey... T'mar." It took him a moment to remember the name, but at least it came. How everyone else in the Weyr seemed to know everyone else's with no effort at all had never made sense to him.
"Your kagen up to no good today?" Whether or not, she was going to make Torch worse. With a torrent of chatters he scrambled to the edge of the table to gawk at her. By now, they weren't anything new, but that made no difference to him.
It didn't take long for him to remember that it was N'ren who had the edibles though, and soon he was back to trying to get at his keeper's plate. "You realize there's an unlimited food supply just across the room, don't you," he muttered to the flitt.
Torch just chattered and scrabbled at N'ren's arm. The food right here was so much closer.

OOC: Does anyone active have a male I can borrow?
"I don't know what's with Blossom lately. Well, I have my suspicions. I think we might be needing to find a male kagen one of these days." He knew all about proddiness in dragons, but proddiness in kagen? But it sure *seemed* like that.
Blossom chittered at Torch but then tried to get away again, squirming in her rider's arms. Yes. She definitely had *something* on her mind. What that something was, T'mar wasn't entirely sure of. But it was a reasonable suspicion.
"But for right now, I want to find lunch."

OOC: Kora has Squeak. That's all I know off the top of my head.
"Heh." There were sure to be plenty about willing to oblige. "I'm glad I only ended up with boys." A crazy Green flitter that occasionally got proddy could very likely be less trouble than his utterly insane Blue, but he had no experience with it. He would rather keep it that way. Maideneth getting proddy was enough for him; luckily it was Johannesth who dealt with that.
N'ren scooted Torch to the edge of the table. "Maybe you can show Torch where to find it too." The Blue was very focused on N'ren's meal and probably wouldn't follow T'mar, but it was worth a shot.
Torch chattered a little disconcertedly and trotted back to N'ren, this time attempting a different but just as fruitless track under his keeper's upper arm. After squirming backwards from between tricep and chest, he turned a hopeful eye on T'mar.

OOC: *steals Squeak?*
"Hey, like I want him stealing my...." Trouble was abruptly on his shoulder, having come out of Between so close he blew cold air in the greenrider's ear. "TROUBLE!"
Chirp.
"I swear, Trouble, you make me glad every day of the week I didn't Impress a bronze *dragon*." The bronze just struck a pose.
Of course, Blossom took the opportunity to escape and run under a nearby table, from which only her tail could be seen. What tail she had...which wasn't that much.
"Gah...thanks Trouble. A lot."

OOC: Go ahead. XD
Fire-lizard company was enough to distract Torch for a bit from any food. Sitting up, he chattered to Trouble, gurgling first at his entrance, and then rambling on about whatever came to mind next.
Torch was a constant reminder of how glad N'ren was he hadn't Impressed a Blue. Bronzes... well, his Tan was probably preferable to one of them. Johannesth was hardly Bronze-like, although there were definitely Tans out there that didn't seem to believe there was a difference.
"Think she's hungry?" N'ren took a vegetable from his plate and got up to go tempt Blossom out with it. Torch immediately pounced on the abandoned dish, only to find himself disappointed with how little was left on it.
But he was a fire-lizard; he could make do. By the time N'ren came back, it would be licked clean.

T'mar gave up on his kagen for now, moving instead to fill a plate. "I'm getting more and more sure the little pest is proddy. Anyone want a kagen pup?" He was assuming that peaches could litter, which wasn't guaranteed.
But he was going to assume it unless there weren't pups. At least the little things were so cute that he shouldn't have any problems finding them.
Trouble chittered back at Torch, albeit less briefly. Then when it became clear the blue wasn't going to let him get a chirp in edgwise, he started to get...annoyed, the whirling of his eyes developing just a hint of red. Uh oh.

N'ren shrugged. "I doubt people who want them would be hard to find." He didn't, particularly. Something that couldn't fly and between didn't seem very useful. Not that his flitters made themselves very useful either, but they at least had potential.
Apparently Blossom wasn't going to be tempted by food, so N'ren returned to his seat. Torch had cleaned the plate and was back to chattering to Trouble, which, looking at the Bronze, probably wasn't a good idea.
"Okay Torch, that's enough," he warned. The Blue paused long enough to turn and chirple inquisitively at N'ren. The bit of food still in his hand caught Torch's attention and he pounced on that. Hopefully, crisis averted.

Trouble did not, fortunately, pounce the blue. He settled for glaring at him with all the intensity of a queen watching somebody a little closer than she liked to her clutch.
"Probably not. They might not be the most useful of critters, but they're cute and don't take much to look after. She does like to be brushed, but beyond that..."
Flower was easy to take care of. All she needed was some grass and a bit of grooming. Trouble took far more of T'mar's time, although most of that was his...charming personality.
OOC: And I mock Sparrow for getting a dragon's name wrong and get my Kagen's wrong for an *entire thread*. I give up.

OOC: You said Blossom in the first post. I've been working off of that. *looks* ...actually, nearly all of them. I've obviously infected you with my inability to remember names.
Torch eventually caught on to the fact that someone much more dangerous than a human had an angry eye on him. He chattered very dejectedly before taking to the air and disappearing with a pop.
T'mar ought to bring Trouble around more often.
"I can think of a few people that would be interested... were she to pup. How many do they have, do you have any idea?" He had heard about people finding the babies, but they only took one and never told him how many had been there originally.

OOC: I do it all the time. I should just change her official name.
"I have absolutely no clue. She's the smaller of the female colors, so for all I know she won't pup at all." T'mar gave Trouble the eye, but the bronze was practically doing a victory dance.
"Firelizards," T'mar pronounced. "Especially bronze ones."
Not that that would make him stop harassing the lower colors. Or anyone else he thought he could intimidate into doing what he wanted.
"How do bronzeriders do it?"

Well, if she really was proddy, they would probably find out soon enough. Or at least T'mar would; N'ren wasn't sure how likely it was he would hear about Flower again.
"Mmm. And Torch." He was a strange little lizard. It was a good thing Tak was a Brown and not a Bronze, or he doubted the older flitter would be able to tolerate Torch at all. A Bronze would be quieter than Torch... but likely more trouble in the long run.
"Not a clue." Fortunately for N'ren, he had gotten the least Bronze-like of all the Tans.

"Of course, I've had riders of male dragons ask me how *I* do it, when Freyjath gets proddy." And she was one of the least green-like greens at Nyocia.
Very pretty, but hardly the outgoing flirt the color was known for being. More quiet. Of course, she didn't have a barred-like personality either.
She was just Freyjath. "I sometimes say I hardly know either, I mean, put Freyjath up next to Amirinth and you'd never think they were the same color.
