OOC: Kinda a time warp, this is the day after the Hatching, in the afternoon so everyone could have slept in. K'laon certainly did. ;P
"I've decided this time around we're here because we're convicts of spiriting away a queenrider."
But we got away with that.
"I'm not here because I love to volunteer, bug."
But we can't even tell them that.
"We can tell them we're convicts."
Amirinth is not a convict. K'laon is here because he got in trouble.
"And you succored the crime." K'laon leaned against the back wall of a classroom that wouldn't hold this batch of weyrlings long. It didn't hold anyone long. Not that he minded; the Weyr Bowl was a far preferable place to work. It was just... cold right now. If any of the dragonets were at all like Amirinth, and there had been plenty of Greens, they would get cold and not enjoy their time at all.
Amirinth wants them to get here already, Amirinth said impatiently, her whirling eyes on the entrance. Show up, show up. She had already put out the call to the dragonets. She wanted to see them. Amirinth was hardly motherly material, but she was still female and very fond of at least looking at babies. They ought to hurry up.
"It's only been a little hectic around here lately," K'laon pointed out sarcastically.
We made it. Crouched as far back in the room as she could fit herself, Amirinth shuffled and shifted, agitated. She hated waiting.

No. Fioloth would not fit in a classroom, any classroom, for long. The violet hatchling seemed to have grown in even the short period since she had hatched.
Kari felt as if she had grown several years in that time. Inolyn had been attacked, but the man who did it was dead. Assuming he had acted alone and had, indeed, been the same one who had slain Shador and the Lord Holder, she was as safe as a queenrider could be.
Queenrider. Shard it. She had expected a green or barred, had *wanted* a barred, but what she had was an almost burgundy violet. And she couldn't even be mad about it...Fioloth would not let her. But she felt extremely self conscious as she entered the room with the violet padding at her side. There was a green dragon *barely* fitting in part of the room, Kari noted. And the greenrider...K'laon. One of the older riders, as steady as a greenrider was likely to get...greens seldom picked 'steady'.
I'm not taking orders from a green. I outrank her! Fioloth declared.
"Yes you are, until we graduate, because she knows stuff you don't." Kari, unfortunately, had not *quite* got the knack of responding silently to her dragon's comments. But then queen weyrlings were quite likely to be a bit difficult about taking orders from lesser colors that might be weyrlingmaster...blue and green weyrlingmasters were not uncommon, after all.
