Itusk gave the little bronze a snort, but for the most part ignored him. Sabresk was his gold so he should find his own or maybe a green. None the less he had nothing against the little bronze cousin that was always around somewhere. The new green though didn't seem to like him, that was a shame. He only just got back, he hadn't done anything wrong...
Reaching out with his muzzle, he blinked faintly glowing green eyes at the little green. I will not hurt you, Sabresk is just upset cause she is too heavy with eggs He sounded very proud of himself, they were his eggs too afterall.
"Now now, there is nothing worng with the Weyrleaders. Or are you just more upset with them cause that girl who impressed violet was what you were looking for to Handle a gold? The eggs haven't even been lain yet." A tall man with blond hair finally walked in. The caverns didn't look like his enviroment at all, and it had taken a good portion of the past 5 turns to adapt. Itusk had been out hunting but he rarely left he caverns after catching his gold. he normally brought back something back for her but since she fell asleep when they were out he decided to wait till she woke to hunt for her.

Japarill chuckled. "The Weyrleaders? I haven't met them yet." But he had heard probably not-so-good things about Kora, although they were more along the lines of her 'not living up to Weyrwoman standards' than trying to be above everyone. All he'd heard of Y'xem was that he seemed to be a typical Bronzerider.
He laughed at Sabre's tone as she put a name to the Bronze. Itusk? That wasn't a name Pari would fancy having. "He looks very devoted to Sabresk," he commented, smiling slightly at the wher's protective curl.
Now Itusk's handler came... Pari took a quick liking to him. "Who was it that Impressed the Violet?" News didn't reach the boy particularly quickly, especially since he had been traveling recently instead of listening to the women gossip or men mutter under their breath about what was going on. He knew the eggs had hatched and the egg thought to hold a Gold hatched a Violet, but not much more than that. If that queen had chosen this other girl though, then she probably wasn't meant to be a wherhandler....
Tianthe snorted at both Bronzes (although one she wasn't sure could be titled that, he was simply the color). They were just show off-ish, she didn't like them. The monster would probably try to eat her soon, maybe when the other one woke up so he had some help. His head was looming dangerously close right now anyways.
Maybe he wanted a rock? The idea suddenly struck her and Tianthe gave an excited trill before nudging the pebble at her feet towards the creature. Maybe the golden one preferred fire-lizards, but perhaps the bronzer one would like a rock to eat.

Sabre glared at her counterpart, angry already at his glib attempt to soothe her.
"Inolyn would have been a fine gold prospect if she hadn't insisted on Standing for dragon. And Sabresk's due in a sevenday or two. "
She glanced down at Akila, curled up under Sabresk's jaw, and then to the random green. Swinging her eyes back up, she continued.
"And just where were the two of you lately? I go off to have a chat with Their Exalted Riders, and come back to find my gold in pain because your bronze didn't do his job!"
Her brow furled as she glared accusingly. Though it technically wasn't Itusk's job, he'd been taking care of Sabresk ever since they mated, going so far as to hunt for her.

"Even you know Itusk is at her beck and call. She was creeling in hunger and I couldn't hold him back, and I don't like him leaving me alone out there." Despite her anger towards him he was strangly calm, brushing off her glares and accusations like they were nothing. The smile never left his face, knowing full well she was probably nearly as proddy a wher right now. None the less, you don't mess with a female and expectialy when they were in this state.
"It was Inolyn's choice, she had no garentee of Impression and their clutch hatched before ours was lain. The dragon chose her, not the other way around but there are a few other girls I'm sure you wouldn't mind concidering to replace her."

The wherhandlers didn't seem to be speaking to him, so Japarill sat down on the sand and reached out towards the green fire-lizard, wondering what she was doing here still. Now she was pushing pebbles towards the Bronze too... why? He didn't seem to notice anyways.
Tianthe ignored the boy, but shoved a few more pebbles in the direction of the bronzer monster. Why wasn't he paying attention to her? These were apparently very stupid monsters... they ate rocks and fire-lizards, but seemed unable to fly, and the more golden one was so lumpy...
At least they hadn't woken up to eat her yet. But wouldn't they take her pebble offering? She had been trying so hard!
((sorry for the crappy post... it didn't feel like there was much for me to reply to though. >.<))

((Don't worry 'bout it. I just didn't want you to get too lost while Jenthy and I post this conversation!))
"She's perfectly capable of hunting by herself, which she did! Your bronze neglected to keep an eye on her to ensure she ate only what she killed!"
By Sabresk's egg, the man was infuriating! She had a great urge to punch him in the face, and if he threw anymore glib remarks in her lap, she would.
"This batch? I wouldn't trust most of them to boil water, much less Bond a wher! One of the girls is blind, one's a sissy, and then there's the one who thinks that whers are the starting point to a dragon- once he gets good enough, we'll give him a dragon!"
She shot a glance to Japarill, but didn't stay on his face before staring back at Itunas. She didn't like his attitude, no, not one bit.
((No...those aren't the candidates, but Sabre's assuming the worst.))

"Woo! Settle Sabre! If you you want me to do something useful then how about this proposal. I'll Go to the weyr tomorrow and find out where Inolyn came from, family members tend to have comon traits and we might find her replacement in her bloodline."
While he was about the only person on the planet who seemed to fair well with The wherhandler even he found it uncomfortable after a while. Nothing he did was ever good enough, and while he was a handsome man she had no intrest in him what so ever. Pity, they might as well get along during the time their wher's were mates.

"Do it. I dare you to have a little backbone."
Infuriated, Sabre left the Hatching Cavern, not bothering to grab a glow. She knew PRECISELY where her alcove was, and didn't need a glow to get there. She had one by her bed that was bright enough to see by.
...men! Infuriating, know-it-all, sons of a wherry, ill-mannered MEN!!! she ranted silently, counting her strides until she reached the proper turn. Twenty-six strides down here, three strides after turning left, and she was in her alcove.
She fully intended not to return until it was properly dark, which meant that the candidate would be sleeping, and Itunas would be...elsewhere. She needed alone time right now, to cool off.
It never would occur to her that she was so irratible because of Sabresk. Turns of being Bonded, and she still didn't realize that the gold affected her behaviour so drastically.

Japarill turned his head and watched Sabresk leave, then stood. "Inolyn's the one who Impressed the Violet?" Why was Sabre so desperate to have her? And Pari sure hoped none of those comments on Candidates were about him. Could they be, when they had only just met? Probably not.
But it sounded like had ended up with a pretty interesting crew of others. All of them could be exagerations- Pari sort of expected that after 'Their Annoyingnesses'- except the blind girl... she was likely just blind. That could get irritating.
"So you're the Bronze's handler?" Pari held out his hand. He didn't think he had ever caught the man's name in the conversation. "I'm Japarill."

Itunas faked that her insult did him any hurt but as soon as her back was turned he recovered back to himself. While she had given him permission to leave he doubted Itusk would acompany him. The bronze would stick to his prize till the eggs were lain and he was chased off but he would try and sneek back.
"It is good to meet you, Japairll. I apologise for Sabre, she tends to always be like this so please take no offence."
Itusk watched the little green carefully, trying to determine what she was doing. They were only pebbles, was it a game? Reaching over the bronze pulled them closer, nestling them close to his side.
Thank you little one

Maybe it wasn't habit among wherhandlers to shake hands when they met someone. Pari let his drop to his side a second time. Giving names out maybe wasn't something they did either? He had known Sabre's name already, but not the Bronzehandler's. And he still didn't.
Pari shrugged. "It sort of reminds me of my sisters." So thus, it was nothing new. They liked to get mad at someone and then run off and sulk, boys especially. It was sort of funny to watch, and it hadn't lost its luster here with the Goldhandler doing the same thing.
Tianthe chirped with relief as the monster finally took the rocks. Now she could get going, back home to where Hers could take care of the bite the gold creature had given her. She didn't want to have to deal with these rock-and-fire-lizard-eating things anymore, they struck the Green as very dangerous.
