Y'xem had woken up early. So had Alduth. Now, flying to Kora's ledge in his riding gear...he was nervous.
His first Threadfall as Weyrleader. He really didn't want to screw up, and he hoped no one betweened...
Mine, don't worry. It's going to be a light fall over the land. Then we have a little break until the next one right?
Yes, I suppose you are right. But I just can't Help it Alduth.
When they had landed on the ledge, Y'xem called into the weyr. " Kora! Are you ready? Can I come in? Only about an hour until Threadfall starts!"
He dismounted, looked back and sighed. Give the order for all the riders to assemble in the Bowl Alduth. We will be there soon.
And he started towards the entrance to Kora's weyr........Rider and Dragons! Assemble for Threadfall in the Bowl!

"Yes to both." Kora yawned, but otherwise probably didn't appear too tired. She had awoken early, and not slept much the night before either because she she was nervous about Threadfall. She had dressed in her riding gear and saddled Nayarath, perhaps hoping she would be ready first... but apparently not.
Shall we go too then? Nayarath rumbled softly and nuzzled her mate in greeting. She wasn't nervous. Thread was just a bunch of white worms falling from the sky anyways, they couldn't hurt her. Sometimes one would touch a wing, but it only stung a little, then she flicked between to get rid of it. She was much too big to be destroyed by such an ugly parasite.
~~~~~~
Ekirith's head snapped up at the sound of Alduth's call ringing through his mind. Hurry up Mine, we're to assemble in the Weyr Bowl now.
"I just have one more strap to tighten, hold still and I'll go faster..." J'ran sighed softly. He hated chasing Thread. Ekirith had avoided any excessively bad injuries so far, but there was always the chance that something bad would happen. He didn't want the Brown betweening from a Threadscore, especially when he had just won a queen.
Stop worrying Mine, the Thread won't hurt us. And he didn't plan to abandon his new mate because of some petty injury either.
"There." J'ran tightened the final strap and Ekirith helpfully bent a foreleg so that his rider could mount. Almost before the man had settled the dragon had taken off, impatient to get to the Bowl. He wanted to be the first one there.
Landing heavily, Ekirith looked around. Apparently not even Alduth had arrived yet... He rumbled softly. Look Mine, we won!
~~~~
Amirinth was having a lot of trouble holding still for K'laon as he struggled to saddle the excited Green. Neither of them liked Thread, but they had been chasing it for five Turns now and neither were particularly worried by its presence either. Amirinth was a small Green, she easily avoided getting scored but was quick to burn everything she saw.
And now they were Wingleaders! Probably nothing could excite the Green more than the idea that she got to lead the Raute Wing. Who would have thought a Green would become the leader? It was obviously because of her stupendous amazing-ness. Not even a Blue could best this Green apparently.
Come on Mine, Alduth calls! She turned and nudged at the saddle, trying to get it in place herself but only managing to dislodge it.
"Hold still bug, and maybe we'll get to go." Hopefully the bright sheen of the Green's hide wouldn't be noticed by Kora. Amirinth wasn't going miss out on flying her first Threadfall as Wingleader, even if a Gold told her to. "There, lets go."
K'laon clambered onto his dragon's back, and soon both were in the Weyr Bowl. The only other dragon present was the Brown Ekirith, a fine specimin of a dragon... except that he had just won the Violet. Amirinth looked around impatiently and waited for more to arrive. Where were her Blues and Greens? Sharding things, she didn't want the members of her Wing to arrive late!

Y'xem came in and gave Kora a smile. " Looks like you are ready then...I guess there is only to go to the Bowl and wait for everyone to get there...K'met is sick though...so we are at least one down." Y'xem leaned down and gave Kora a quick kiss. " Let's go then." Alduth nuzzled Nayarath in return. Yes, everyone is ready to go. Thread will be Charred! Let us take up our positions at the Bowl and wait there.With that, Y'xem mounted and Alduth took off for the Bowl. Nayarath wouldn't be far behind, they were both sure. ************************** Roluth turned an eye to C'it. Mine. Alduth calls. Time to Assemble." Hmm...yes...well I just finished with this saddle. Let's go." C'it could tell Roluth was bothered by something. Could be anything though, so C'it let it go and mounted. They landed near Amirinth and C'it waved to the new Wingleader. " Hello K'laon! Ready to get this going?" Roluth though seemed to relax a bit with Amirinth around. Ah...pretty Green Amirinth, it is an honor to be lead by you into this Threadfall. There was a touch of purple in the Blue's eyes as he looked at the Green. *************************** Threadfall assembly now D'lisMine." Yes, yes. I should have just went when we got ready. Let's go meet up with J'ran then and prepare the wing." D'lis got up out of the bed he had slumped back into after getting ready almost an hour ago. Strath waited until His was settled and took off into the Bowl, settling next to the Wingleader. Being Wingseconds wasn't that hard...but they had some responsibility. Ready for any orders Ekirith.

Ketara! Thread Falls!
”I know, I know!”
Ketara finished buttoning her wherhide jacket, and tucked her braids into her new riding helmet. Moving with speed, she dashed out to the Bowl, where Axeth was waiting. Deft hands tightened the straps she always loosened upon dismounting, and then she was up.
I’m ready! Axeth announced as Ketara strapped herself in. He oriented himself to his Wingleader, green Amirinth.

N'rek, Amirinth calls for the wingriders. Thread is coming!
Crith was anxious, barely able to stand still long enough for N'rek to fasten the straps on securely. Sith flew around the dragon in wild circles, taking cues from her at Thread's imminent falling. The blue landed on Crith's saddle, flaring his wings and roaring ferociously.
N'rek glared at the blue, grabbing for him so he could take his place in the saddle, but Sith scratched at him viciously, drawing blood.
Move the sharding lizard and let's go!
Sith took flight on his own, cavorting in loops around the green and only stopping when Crith roared at him, settling on N'rek's cot quickly.
I hope that those lessons that you bought help. You have let that one run wild far too long for my liking.
Spreading her wings, Crith took off from the ledge, landing easily beside Amirinth when they reached the Weyr Bowl. Waving pleasantly to K'laon and C'it, N'rek grinned. "Crith's so worked up over Fall she was close to eating Sith!"

Kora quickly climbed onto Nayarath's back and the Gold shot after her mate. Dragons were already gathering in the Weyr Bowl, that was good. Two Browns, two Blues, two Greens... there were more than that, hopefully they would be here soon.
Taking her own place in the Bowl, Nayarath only looked up at the sky again. She was impatient to get going, pity Thread wasn't scheduled to fall for a short while yet.
~~~~~
Ekirith glanced at Strath as the Brown touched down beside him. None yet. Mine is all nervous. He snorted. They would probably do better at fighting Thread if his would stop imagining all the worst things that could possibly happen to them.
~~~~~
Amirinth gurgled with excitement as more of her Wing gathered around her. F'ynch and Truth hadn't arrived yet, but Thread wouldn't fall for a bit more. She could wait for her Wingsecond, but he would get a scolding for not beating the others...
The call just went out bug, K'laon reminded his dragon. They aren't late. He was much more content to wait than the Green. At least she could take up her time inspecting those who had arrived so far. Crith looked impatient too, Axeth seemed to be ready, he was lucky the weyrling dragons hadn't killed him yet, Roluth looked a bit too relaxed.
Perhaps it is an honor to be led by me, but you had better make it worth my time to have you there, she replied to his comment. K'laon frowned, not liking the Green's snappish tone.

(K'met is sick... just for the fun of him not being there... (He was sick cause I was afraid that I might not be on, but i like the one down already thing )) Kett awoke with a start as Haith was saying, Mine, We must fly, Dragonriders must fly when thread is in the sky. Kett started with a jump at that and then remebered, thread today. She quickly dressed into her riding leathers and furs, preparing for th cold trips between. She strapped up Haith and then hopped on. Come Haith let us go[./i] So the two of them flew down to the bowl where the rest of their wing was assembling, and put themsleves right in, dragonriders must fly when thread is in the sky.

FINALLY! Truth snarled as the bronze spoke to him, the powdery blue was restless, he wanted to fight. This, this was what he was born to do! Growling lowly as F’ynch deliberately took his time to pull on the fighting jacket, the blue growled again towards his rider. Come on! We fight! Finally. This, this Mine is what we were born to do. Waiting only long enough for F’ynch to check his straps and swing up into place on his neck before he took off.
Landing gracefully, Truth nodding a greeting to each dragon before moving to stand by Haith, restlessly moving his wings as he stretched. The little blue wanted to fly, wanted to fight, and he couldn’t. Not yet. Only a little while longer. Only a little while. Greetings HaithLove. Is it not a wonderful day to fight Thread? I wonderful day to flame.
F’ynch on the other hand, rolled his eyes at his dragon, checking his straps again and smoothing his hand down Truth’s neck with a fond smile. For all his dragon might not be able to last the Fall, F’ynch couldn’t imagine riding a better dragon. Truth was quick, agile and there was no way he’d let himself get hurt. If only because that would hinder him chasing the green’s. “DragonRiders must fly, when Thread is in the sky.” F’ynch whispered, smiling as Truth rumbled darkly. And fly we shall.
MINE! MINEMINEMINE! Thread falls! Come on! Laukarth called, flaring her wings in excitement, D’nor blinked at her, groaning as he got to his feet to change into the flying gear. Thread, fighting again. This was something Laukarth was good at, so he supposed, either way she was going to drag him out to the weyrbowl. Ganesa wailed unhappily, but D”nor merely patted her head before clambering up onto Lauakrth’s neck.
I am here! she called as she landed.
(Crap ending but I gotta go to lunch)

"Mine, please hurry. The dragons are already assembling." Morieth was already strapped up and eager to be on her way. Tardiness during Threadfall was inexcusable.
Melany rushed to pull on her boots while trying to pull back her hair. "I know, I know," she panted. "But we still have time. Besides, they could go ahead and start without us."
Morieth snorted. "That's not a very responsible outlook, Mine."
Not a moment too soon, Melany positioned herself on Morieth. "Oh, stop chiding me, you overgrown firelizard. Let's fly." They glided down to where the dragons were and sought out their Wingleader, K'laon.
"We're here, sir," Melany said with a nod.

Alduth settled at the front, next to Nayarath. It felt great to him to be leading all these dragons to battle their mortal enemy. His rider though was a little nervous...which would fade with the first flame. They are still gathering Mine, but all the Wingleaders seem to be here. Should they start getting into wing positions yet?Y'xem looked over at Kora sitting on top of Nayarath. She was more beautiful riding the golden beast, a wonderful sight. " Yes, it'll cut back on time Alduth. Give the order." He flashed a smile over to his weyrmate and Weyrwoman. Everyone! Start getting into Wing Positions. We will be ready and leaving soon! We need the fire-stone sacks passed out! This was going to be a bad day for Thread! ******************************* Roluth gave a purr at Amirinth's snap. I will prove my worth today Wingleader Amirinth.I really don't like your tone Roluth...what's up. C'it wasn't really sure what was going on, Threadfall didn't make Roluth act like this. Something that can be worked out after Thread is charred Mine. But now...Alduth says that we must get into position and get ready...we will be leaving soon.C'it sighed. " Ok, do it." ******************************* Strath looked up from his near sleep when Alduth gave out the order. Time to get into positions. Good thing we are already there, now we just have to wait on our fire-stone and the cue to leave.Shaking his head at his lazy dragon, D'lis looked over at J'ran. " Are you as ready to go as I am? I could really use the excitement...I've been a little down lately. More so than usual."

L'han felt a little odd as he was assembling the bronzes in his wing while they awaited the Weyrleader to take them to the fall. A tan leading the bronzes, and a younger one at that.... it couldn't sit completely well with all of them but he had been choosen by the Weyrleader himself. No one could argue that judgement.
"Everyone preform a final cheak on you fighting straps! We don't want any accidents, the weyrlings should be along to pass out firestone shortly. This is the real thing people!"
We know what to do, we'll look after our riders and the Tan poked at his rides chest enphisising the fact his jacket wasn't even on propperly, left open so he didn't over heat under the sun while they were still preparring.

J'reth was still poking his blonde head into his dirty helmet when Wuith's warning came through. It was followed quickly by a comment from Labyrinth.
'This is the real thing, people!' Honestly, does he HAVE to remind us?
I'm sure he does, Labby. It's a Wingsecond thing, or something. J'reth soothed his bronze as he did a last second check of his fighting straps. He had forged the buckles himself, so he knew it was strong, but it had to be tight enough to be effective. He didn't want to be falling out of his straps mid-Fall!
Let's fly!
J'reth pulled his eye-guards on, and buckled his last strap. He was ready to fight!
How's the labyrinth, labby?
Well enough. The sun is hot enough to ease the pain. I want to fight!
I know, I know!

Ekirith glanced around at his gathering Wing. ((NPC's... they gotta have more than three. xP)) Their's was definitely the smallest, especially compared to all the Blues and Greens flooding to the Raute Wing. Where would the Barred's fly? No-one knew how big they would get yet.
Where is Irth and His? Ekirith looked around uncertainly. With his Wing the size it was, they didn't need dragons to not show up! How could they miss Threadfall?
I'm sure they'll be here. J'ran patted Ekirith's shoulder comfortingly. A dragon couldn't miss Threadfall, right? It worried him too, but he tried to hide it for his dragon's sake. But Ekirith only snorted. He knew any assurance from His was probably false.
~~~~~~
Amirinth was practically shivering with excitement. Look at all the dragons of her Wing! So many Blues and Greens! They would be the very best one, she was sure. Except that her Wingsecond was busy flirting with his mate and Roluth was purring of all things.
Truth, your spot is not beside Haith! Form up! Amirinth glowered at him. It was K'laon who had picked F'ynch and Truth, not Amirinth. She still wasn't sure about her rider's decision.
And Roluth, this is Threadfall, not a Flight. Pay attention. She glared at him too.
Calm down bug. K'laon laughed nervously and stroked the Green's neck. They'll do alright, don't worry. But Amirinth still doubted it.
~~~~~~
Kora and Nayarath were both looking around for the only other dragon who would fly in their Wing. Where were Shador and Kelth? Perhaps the Violet had just Risen, but no queen would be beyond flying Thread this fast. And no-one knew if she would even actually clutch yet.
Kelth? Thread is falling, we're assembling in the Weyr Bowl. Nayarath called out to the Violet herself; perhaps she had somehow not heard Alduth's summons.

((Sorry guys. I'm waiting for my internet to get fixed. Hopefully it will be today. *crosses fingers*))
Kelth was pacing back and forth in her weyr, unsure of whether to join in the Threadfall. She had eggs growing inside her, she was sure of it, and she didn't want to hurt her clutch. She wanted to ignore Alduth's call, but when Nayarath herself asked after her, she had to respond.
Kelth, I think we should go, Shador said, bringing the riding straps over to Kelth. It's only been a few days, so I don't think the eggs will be hurt at all. You'll just get frustrated sitting out of Fall. Kelth snorted, but relented. She didn't want to make Nayarath angry with her.
We will be there soon, Nayarath, she told the Gold, and Shador quickly suited her up and mounted. They flew down to the Weyrbowl, and Kelth took up her position beside Nayarath. But I have to be careful and protect my clutch. Surely you understand. Shador shook her head. Was Kelth already broody? How bad was she going to be when she actually had eggs on the sands?
Kelth surveyed the Wings and found Ekirith at the head of his riders. Be careful, Ekirith love, and good luck! she called.
--------
Easath anxiously swept his tail back and forth as his rider fastened the riding straps by feel. He had been practicing, and could do it was well as any sighted person by now. He tried to focus on the task as a way to calm himself, but he was really nervous. He couldn't believe the Weyrleader even wanted him to fly Threadfall, and he wasn't sure if he could do it.
Of course you can! Easath held out his foreleg, and R'lyr felt for it, then hopped up on his dragon's back. Kestrel hovered nearby, ready to fight Thread alongside his owner. They took up their positions in K'loan's Wing. Easath spotted Crith and crooned a greeting. Take care during Fall, Crith! Then, to his rider, Look to your right and wave at N'rek. R'lyr did so, also managing a tense smile even though he felt way too nervous for it to be genuine.

Y'xem looked around, everyone was pretty much here. " Well Kora dear, let's get in position as well. I'll give the signal in just a few minutes...Thread waits for no one." Alduth bellowed at that. His wings shot out and glided to their wing, L'han and Wuith had already got much done...that boy was working out fine. It was never good to have to go over someone else's orders. Y'xem settled a little in the saddle, his nervousness dying to excitement and adrenaline. " Is everyone ready L'han?" ******************************* The Weyrleader had taken position as well! C'it smacked Roluth's shoulder. Get into Threadfall or you're going to get Scored dear heart.Forgive my Mine, Forgive me Amirinth. I wasn't thinking straight, it will not happen during Threadfall. Roluth hung his head for only a second before he took his position more strongly. C'it had a feeling that he would know what was going on soon after Threadfall. There was just something about Amirinth, and the way Roluth was acting. Oh well, now it was time to think about flames and charred Thread. ******************************* Strath gave a snort. Ekirith, don't worry...here come's Irth now. Besides...Visok is smaller than us is it not? Strath was getting impatient and started to move his legs around one at a time. D'lis looked up at the sky. " The Fall is a short one anyway, over Danac and then to the sea. Shouldn't be but a couple of hours, Y'xem just took his place...it's almost time."

Nayarath nodded to Kelth. We will fly low and easy. Would the Violet need a flamethrower this time? Nayarath wasn't sure what chewing firestone would do to eggs, but the Violet queen could chew it. She glanced at Kora uncertainly, who shrugged.
We landed pretty-much in our places, I don't think we need to move to form up for Wings. There were only two in this one anyways... hopefully more in a few Turns.
~~~~~~~~
Ekirith glanced at Irth with irritation, then at his Wingsecond. Their dragons are larger. But he didn't need to worry about that... the Meio Wing would fly well.
He glanced at Kelth, his eyes whirling briefly a happy blue, as he spoke to him. You too, dear Kelth. But then he swung his head forwards again, standing alert for Alduth's order for the Wings to rise.
"Yes, at least we have that." J'ran liked it best when Thread fell over water. That especially showed the parasites weakness; the way mere fish could come up and just eat it, the way it shriveled at the slightest touch of water... and the dragons didn't have to chase it then.
~~~~~~~~
Amirinth snorted but didn't speak to the Blue again. Something was wrong with his head to be so distracted when Thread was about to fall. And Truth needed to hurry up and get to his place! He did not belong at Haith's side; he was her Wingsecond. Mates could be forgotten. That was another good reason for why she never took one.
She turned to glare as Easeth and R'lyr showed up. Did they really think they could fly Thread? The rider had to watch out for it as much as the dragon. Easeth, you have to do ground crew. She forced herself not to snarl at the Blue, but his rider must be some sort of suicidal idiot if he thought he and Easeth could ride through something so dangerous.
K'laon agreed with his dragon, but waited for the Blue's reaction to Amirinth's order before he said anything. Y'xem would be ordering the dragons up soon, he needed to watch for that... hopefully R'lyr would simply obey.

They were all impatient, it was very near time. Y'xem wiped his brow and placed his helmet back on. Ok Alduth let's rise.Y'xem gave the signal for everyone to take flight and stay in position. They would all get airbourne and then transfer between to right over Danac and wait for Thread to start. I have the Hold firm in mind Mine, just tell me when to give them all the picture.*************************** C'it felt Roluth jump into the air as he barely saw Y'xem's signal to take formationed flight. They would only hover for at the most a minute while everyone settled safely into their wings again and was ready to go between. Roluth was definately ready, for two reasons. He had to prove himself to Amirinth and he was ready to char that menace Thread! *************************** D'lis saw Y'xem's hand signals and slapped Strath's side. " Let's get up there dear heart." He didn't want to be the last one to spring up to the air. Strath complied lazily and hovered in his position. Let's just get this over with! I'm ready to char Thread!

Ket, are we ready?
As soon as K'laon gives the signal!
The blue grumbled a bit, but didn't snap. He was much more interested in the arguement between Amirinth and Roluth. Personally- or was that dragonally?- he thought that Amirinth was a little too bright, but that was his opinion.
Instead, he turned to Crith to talk to her.
Crith, are you excited?
_~_
J'reth, are you ready?
Whenever Y'xem gives the signal! We're over Danac this time, right?
Yes, Mine. I'll be careful, too.
I didn't expect anything less.
J'reth patted Labby's neck, consoling the big bronze. Threadscore hurt, and didn't heal nicely. He pictured the big score on Labyrinth's haunches, making himself a little unhappy. The score still pained Labby, even though he'd gotten it almost a full Turn ago.

Truth head swung about as Amirinth snapped at him, biting down on the growl that leapt up as he nodded once to Haith before moving to take his position. You were the one in the wrong spot. F'ynch reminded him gently, and the blue tensed, turning his head slightly to glare at his rider. In Fall, she is my wingleader, but not my superior any where else. Leader or not, the only one who has the right to speak thus to me is Alduth or Nayarath. Are we not all supposed to equal?
F'ynch sighed quietly, but said nothing in response. He didn't want Truth to be angry at Amirinth, and in all honesty F'ynch saw the point of the green. Being wingseconds was not a privilege. Tell her 'sorry' Truth. F'ynch finally ordered and the blue growled at him. He said sorry to no one! I... apologize Amirinth. I should not have been lax. It will not happen again. Good boy. Shut up you.
*
Laukarth practically bounced to her place, wings rustling in excitement. She very nearly giggled at Amirinth's snapping at everyone, but instead ducked her head as D'nor growled at her. He couldn't strap the firestone sack on if she kept moving. Not that Laukarth cared, she couldn't wait to be in the air!
"Laurie!" The word was drawn out in annoyance and the grass green dragon finally stilled, allowing her rider to check her straps and the sack of firestone. It was annoying, couldn't Amirinth just hurry and let them fly now? Thread wouldn't wait for silly blues to get in formation! I want to go now Mine! I wish the little ones could come but you never- No, Ganesa can't come Laukarth. She wouldn't be able to get out if she got hurt. So stop complaining and wait. Despite the scolding tone, or perhaps because of it, Laukarth merely snorted and went back to shifting impatiently.

Of course I'm excited. It's Thread!
Crith stood tensely, tail lashing as her eyes spun in a myriad of oranges and yellows, peering over at Axeth.
Rubbing her shoulder, N'rek grinned and nodded at R'lyr when he waved, noting the tense smile and wondering if Amirinth would allow Easath to fly Thread. He doubted it, honestly, but then the signal was going around for the wings to take to the air and his attention was needed elsewhere.
Ready N'rek?
Of course. Be careful out there; I don't want you taking unnecessary risks and getting scored.
I'm always careful.
