Salise walked along the edges of the lake, each step hovering to test the ground before her before letting her foot finally settle in the semi-moist sand. Everything here was so fresh to her, it felt like such a place would take some time to get used to. The habits of it too... it was nice to have a chance to just wander her favorite part of Nyocia.
The lake was pretty, its water glistening faintly in the late sun. There weren't many dragons out, or so it appeared, Salise had been hoping to catch one taking a bath or maybe just... doing something the the Bowl. She didn't know quite what they did all the time. Wing drills, baths, hunting, fighting Thread when it fell... what else? Sunning? She doubted she could spend all her spare time just laying around.
Eventually Salise's walk carried her to a boulder with a conveniently flat top, so she scrambled up to that surface and settled cross-legged to look around. This was a bit more like when she was with her family, Salise had always liked just sitting on the edge of the wagon and watching things pass. It was a while yet til dinner, and Salise had finished all her chores for the day. Taking a break to just look around would be welcome.

T'lat was sitting on the egde of his lake while he wacthed Hansth playing in the water. T'lat was doing what he did when he was a the lake which was draw in the sand. Hansth who form were he was in the water had saw the girl siting on the rock and said to T'lat Mine there is someone sitting one that blouder of there. T'lat said to the bronze I know I saw them He then petted Irons head and said to the brown " Why don't you go see if you can get her to come sit with us?" Iron took off and flew over to were Salise was sitting on the rock and landed on her shoulder and chriped a greeting at her.

Salise jumped as a fire-lizard suddenly flitted over to land on her shoulder and chirp. What did it want? Who was its owner? That boy over there? She wasn't sure how much more she wanted to do with them. He had a dragon too, a Bronze? But it was very small... maybe from the clutch that had just hatched.
"Er, hello little flitt," she said uncertainly, speaking to the Brown but still looking nervously at the boy. Bronzes Impressed to good people didn't they? They had to be, since a Bronzerider could potentially become Weyrleader. But Salise still wasn't sure. She remained on her boulder and tried to hold back a nervous flush.

T'lat saw that the girl was still not coming over and he said to Emerald " Why don't you go over and help Iron out." Emerald flew over and landed on the girls back and chriped her greeting at Salise. T'lat then called without even turning to look at Salise " You know there not going to leave you alone till you come over here and talk to me. Don't worry there is no reason to be nerveous. Why don't you come over here. He turned and looked back at her and smiled."

Salise was a bit more prepared when the tiny Green flitt landed on her back and also chirped. She looked small enough to have hatched not long ago, although Salise doubted she could be any judge. But it looked younger than the Brown at least.
She shifted uncertainly as the boy finally spoke, not liking the demanding air. But Salise didn't want flitters crawling all over her, she could take a chance... again. Out in the open like this, she doubted he could try anything anyways. Struggling to reassure herself, she slid off the boulder and walked slowly over to where the weyrling- that was the right term wasn't it?- crouched.
"I'm here then," she told him drily. "My name's Salise.... yours?" Although still not quite sure she wanted to right where she currently was, she figured she could make the best of the situation.

T'lat looked at and smiled and said as he flicked a rock into the water " My name is T'lat. The little green on you is Emerald and the brown is Iron." Then Hansth came out of the water and curled up around T'lat and T'lat said " This is Hansth." He then looked at her curiously and siad " You for some reason look scared of me. Though I don't see why. I am not going to do anything to you Salise." He sat there thinking about for a sec and said to her " So tell me about yourself. Or we can just sit here quitely if you prefer. I don't mind ethier one really." Hansth then siad to her You should not be neverous Salise. Mine is a very nice person and would not hurt a fly.

Emerald and Iron... those were nice names. Her brother had a few flitters, but he thought it would be funny to name them after their colors: Blue, Green, Bronze. They didn't seem to mind, but Salise always thought they deserved better names.
She smiled slightly at the Bronze, but it disappeared to be taken over by an expression of surprise when the dragon suddenly spoke to her. Could they really do that? She had never heard a dragon speak before, Salise always thought they only talked to their riders...
But Hansth's reassurance did, at least, turn out to be more reassuring than T'lat's own words. She shrugged slightly. "I'm just a new Candidate." There wasn't much else to know about her, not yet.

T'lat just smiled at her and said " I am a new Bronze rider so I guess you we are both new at somthing." He said this and then he went and countied to draw in the sand and then thought for a sec and countied to draw. He then siad to her " Sorry if the things I siad before didn't come off so well. I don't to people much and spend much of my time alone so I don't come off to well talking to others. I hope you can forgive me." He then keep looking at her curiously and hoped she did think badly of him. He was always worried about such thing when he talked to people.

"Yeah, I guess." Drawing her knees to her chest, Salise rested her chin between them and watched T'lat scratch marks into the sand. When she was with her families they would play games sometimes, drawing in the dirt. Someone would start a picture and the others would have to guess what it was as fast as they could... she would miss that, and just being with her family.
Salise shook her head quickly. "It's fine..." T'lat struck her as open, that was a good thing, wasn't it? She began scratching absently at the dirt herself, although her fingertip only left a trail of squiggles, not any sort of picture.

T'lat turned to looked at her and thought for sec wondering how he could make her be more open so he asked her "Is there anything you want to talk to me about. I am a pretty good lisitiner." He looked back at her curiously wondering it she would take the bait and something beside just four word sentences. He kept looking at her thoughtful while drawing a picture in the sand without even looking at. He really did not need to look at it really. So he decied t make it harder and started to spin his knife in one hand while looking at her and drawing a picture he was not even looking at.

"No." It was T'lat who had interrupted her quiet moment, he should be the one talking in Salise's opinion. Perhaps there were always lots of things to talk about, but she would never be a conversation-starter and knew she couldn't manage just talking if he planned to only listen.
A slight frown tugged at Salise's lips as T'lat pulled out a knife. The weapon abruptly made her slight opinion of the boy fall, she didn't like knives. They were alright when one was cooking or hunting, but not for play. Rolling her feet, she shifted away a bit.

T'lat looked back at Salise and could tell she was quite shy and that his knife made her nerevous so he put it up. Then he looked up at her and siad to her " It's ok if you don't have anytrhing to talk to me about. I will just talk to you if that is ok." He then looked at her again. He then asked " Well Salise could you at least tell me why do I make you so neverous so that I can stop doing it." He then thought for a moment and add " Plus tell abit about yourself that is if you want to."

T'lat apparently had some sort of fervent desire to learn more about her. At least he put the knife away, that was a little comforting to Salise. But she wasn't sure how much she wanted to talk. "That would be fine."
If he talked, she could reply and that made things a whole lot easier...

firelea, quickly walking down the lake noticed two others near his spot. no that wouldn't do, he grazed the back of his hand clmbing up to a mini cavern to sit and think. All of a sudden a falcon shot down toward the spot were the two people were. seeming as if the falcon was going to attack the humans, but at the last second it veered to the dragon." Blade! Ti!"Firelae called his return comand so firmly it starteled even him. He ran to the others quickly, and after giving the dragon a quick once over he turnned to the two people sitting on the rocks." I'm very sorry, Blade still is very protective of this area."

As the avian returned to its owner's hand, a bronze fire lizard struck out of nowhere.
Well, that's an exaggeration. Disaster was playing with his new little sisters when he saw the flying-thing attack. Something about the way it seemed to think the weyr was its own private play-thing ticked the young bronze off, so he descended to it rapidly.
Careful-don't-hurt-self!
Rafke wheeled, eye whirling wildly as she watched Disaster attack the flying-thing. The young green stayed away from the action, and chittered nervously to her wing-sister, Hilly.
Hilbleiu, or Hilly, as her nickname had been established, crooned encouragingly to her heroic bronze-brother. He was so brave, attacking the thing that might attack his sisters! She answered Rafke, just as excited, but without an ounce of nervousness.
Disaster bit at the thing's improper mouth, intending to tear it off so see what was underneath. He was encouraged by his green siblings, who, although had not come from the same clutch as he, had become good exploring-buddies.

T'lat then turned at and saw the bronze flit seeming to attack the boys bird. He turned to Iron and Emerald and siad " Could you two please stop him please." The two firelizard took off and started to chrip agranyly at the bronze flit and were trying to shoo it away. T'lat wacthed and stood ready to intervene if he found it neccessery. He kinda was ingoring the other two and decided that breaking up the creatures what a bit more improtant becuase those were the things he cared about more than any person.

Salise yelped with surprise as a falcon suddenly dove at her. What did it want? She heard the shouts of the boy- owner apparently?- but how could a falcon see a spot where so many people went as its territory? Anyone who walked through could be attacked and surely someone would do something about that!
And now there were flitters everywhere, going after the bird! Salise whimpered and tucked her head between her knees, wrapping her arms protectively over her head. Hopefully none of them would come after her. What she had hoped would just be a peaceful moment was suddenly turning into a brawl of sorts.
How could T'lat be so stupid as to send his own flitts after the others? That would only make things worse. Maybe it was just boys.... they were stupid. She should get going, not have chanced another meeting with them. What had it led to, getting attacked by a falcon and fire-lizards? That wasn't worth it!

"Ow, hey, get, gahhh!" blade gripped depply into firelae's arm as the flitt aproached. firelae just dropped to one knee and waited paitentally for the owner to call them off, when another two flitt's flew over and started to chirp at the other." Well by farnath's egg, that won't work you fool! that will only cause me more pain and possibaly a fight between them!" firelae slowl rose up and looking at Blade with dissaproval he firmly said." this isn't our territory, go back to the sky's and if you harm these people, i don't even want to know what i'll do!" with that Blade quickly shot off firelae's arm, and nurseing the wounds he softly spoke to the flitt's saying." its okay little ones i mean you no harm. not even the slightest. the big beastie is gone, plz return to your owner." all this time with a look of calm in his eye's as if it didn't even hurt, although blood was dripping from where Blade had gripped Fierlae's arm with his talons." i very much apologieze for the intrusion on whatever you were doing, i just was out for a think."

A brown and a green were going afte rhtier brother! Rafke chirped to Hilly, sketching a strategy before diving at the green. Hilly would take care of the Brown.
Hilly squawked indignantly at the sight of two 'lizards ganging up on Disaster. They weren't uspposed to take the side of the intruder! She agreed with Rafke's plan, and zoned in on the big brown. She'd teach him!
Disaster responded to the intrusion by chasing after the flying-thing-that-was-where-it-shouldn't-be. His sisters could handle the other lizards- he wasn't worried about that. What he was worried about, though, was thrashing the flying-thing's butt. If it was allowed to stay, it might mess with his greens, and that would spell MAJOR trouble for it.
((Sorry- I couldn't resist! Just watch, Iron's prolly gonna join one of their flight's. That would be fun.))

((Since apparently Yam isn't replying... >.<))
"That's what I was hoping to come out for..." Salise stood quickly, suddenly realizing how stupid she must have looked curled up in that protective ball. That falcon was a danger though if it thought the Weyr Bowl was its territory. She didn't want to be around it... would it attack again? It had... apparently hurt the boy that owned it.
"Is your arm alright?" Salise peered at it curiously. She was no Healer, but she could tend to minor wounds. At least she knew that getting pressure on something bleeding was important. "I could... maybe help you with that." Finding a real Healer would be better ((cue a heroicly convienient Tirasha)), but that would take a little time.
