Meagen tended to sleep in a single shift, her night shift. Her fur usually got wrapped around her at some point in the night. So she usually didn't use them, even in the coldest of night. Why may you ask? Because in her slumber, the wrapped up blankets, tended to trigger the nightmares. Ones she did everything in her power to avoid a reoccurrence. It seemed like she was free of the nightmares, ever since she impressed Toath. But it was because of that very same dragon, that she was wrapped tight in furs.
He was a worry wart for her, and had ordered her to wrap up tonight. She had, she slept beneath the furs, and tucked into them. She thought she had been safe, but it was apparently not true. During her slumber, the furs had wrapped around her tightly. Sweat slicked her form rapidly, at the constriction as her good dream turned bad.
She was stretched out on the sands, watching the ocean, Guardian and Hope where with her, and Toath was sunning nearby. A feeling of dread replaced her once happy moment, as her stomach dropped. The scene shifted, and suddenly she found herself thrown violently back unto the sands. She knew this feeling, she knew this feeling. The male that was untop of her, working at the lacings of her tunic, was one she had trusted so much. "No... no no... not yet, Damian please... not yet" She called out to him. Once again she found herself caught in the loop of things.
Meanwhile her dragon shuffled nervously in his slumber. Finding his mines body twisting and writhing in her sheets. Murmurs of no, and soft cries leaving her. He shifted nervously on his sleeping perch and reached out for her mentally, and found himself thrown into her nightmare. With a bugle he ripped free, and began the frantic mine cries for his bonded. Meagen mine, meagen mine, wake up wake up!... Your free, I saved you.. no no no... He called out piteously.
The dream escalated, her tunic ripped, and even as she flailed and hit him. He snatched her wrists and slammed them down with one of his own. His much larger frame pinning her down, as he stared down at her with a vicious grin. Her eyes blurred, brimming with tears. She gave a hiccup of fear, as the pain slammed into her, a spear of white hot...
SHe awakened with a scream, a raw scream of pure pain and anguish. Her flitters just blinked at her faintly. All chirping quizzically, picking the images from her mind, and realizing it was the same old dream. She felt Toath's mind within her own. As she sat in her bed, shaking, sweat dripping down her face, and forming a now cold sheen across all of her skin. A dull throb, from her memories was between her legs. But it wasn't real, she knew that... it was just... a memory...
Meagen mine, Meagen mine, its fine... its fine... Toath here now... Toath is here now! I won't let him hurt you... He called out form his sleeping place.

What's going on?! Why she scream? Jorindath scrambled on her own couch, startled by the sudden noise that had roused her from slumber. Inolyn was slower to rise, the young violet's restlessness and alert state of mind what urged her to open her eyes and get up. Keloc was awake but chirped his annoyance at being woken up, it wasn't even food time.
Who was it? Toath's Meagen, he's worried I'll go check on her
Even though Inolyn made the decision on her own free will she was nearly much too tired to leave her bed. She was the clutch's queenrider and flt she should at least check on her, someone could have beaten her there already. "Meagen? It's me, Inolyn. Are you alright? You woke us with your screaming..."
Inolyn hadn't stayed at the door, instead slipping inside as she spoke. They were both female despite their dragon's being of opposite gender, of whom were still juveniles. She couldn't be accused of breaking any rules, expecially when she wouldn't be surprised if a few others had been awakened too.

(It's too hard to resist >> I was going to put Zaddy in, but she sleeps like something dead, and she wouldn't go check. Besides, she's attempting to comfort this time xD)
Mine, someone screams. Mermaiyeth spoke softly, and only a quick croon saved her from getting the same reaction from her bonded. Beka blinked rapidly, trying to clear her own mind, she'd heard a scream, but it was so hard to tell whether she was screaming or not when asleep. Rolling over to get up, Beka shivered as she wrapped her arms around herself in the sleeveless night gown. Unfortunately, she'd had nothing to wear when coming, but the lower caverns women had offered.
Still, even as Beka moved to Meagan's room on Mermaiyeth's instructions, she recoiled at the sight of someone else there. Yet she knew Meagan, sort of. She'd spoken to her at the touching, and there was something about the other girl that Beka knew. Toath it is alright, Mine dreams bad things too... Is there anything I can do? Mermaiyeth's voice was soft, concenred, perhaps because she knew what it was like to wake to a bonded writhing, or screaming, or crying, or all three.
"M-Meagan?" Beka's voice was hesitant, but as Mermaiyeth mentioned Toath's fear, she moved quietly to stand beside Inolyn. Had she had a bad dream? Or maybe it was a memory. I don't like it, I'm sorry I woke you. Come back now, I'm sure if Toath wants us he would call-- Breaking off as Beka stepped away from Inolyn, towards Meagan. "Meagan, it's Beka." She knew that sort of scream, she knew it well. "I-it's alright M-Meagan. I-it'll be okay... Y-you're safe..." A glance was given to Inolyn, as though the girl was begging the same reassurance. It would be alright wouldn't it? Sitting beside the girl, Beka hesitently reached out to take Meagan's hand in her own icy cold skin. Then again she looked at Inolyn, like a child asking her mother what to do. Mermaiyeth spoke again, this time curious and concerned, confused as to Hers' actions, Toath... I-I, did... Did someone hurt Yours? Is she alright? Someone hurt Mine once, she screams like that sometimes... Are you sure you don't want me to come Toath?

R'mer had been sleeping soundly when the scream woke him. "Faranth...what?"
Toath's is upset.
Wearing only his nightshirt, the bluerider hopped up and started to head towards the brown weyrling's cot. Do you know what about?
Toath? Why is yours scared? Tinth sent to the brown. Now Mine is worried.

Meagen sat in her bed, hands laced in her hair. She was shaking and hard, the sweat cold on her body. Before any others had even entered she had removed her sleeping tunic, so she was in nothing but her underclothes. She looked up as Inolyn entered, her eyes where still widened, pupils fully widened as she reached up to turn up her dimglow above her sleeping got. The Violet rider had entered, and Meagen just turned her eyes upon the other female.
Amber brown eyes, looking almost gold in the light from the dimglow. She was breathing heavily still, new sweat breaking out as the other female came in. nuts she had awakened the barracks with her scream. Her hand shakingly went back through her hair, and she gave a growl as it tangled. She was cutting it tomorrow. Probably to her shoulders, new change, maybe he would leave her alone for good. "I'm sorry... so sorry... I didn't mean to awaken anyone..." She said as she looked up. Beka had now come in.
It's all my fault, all my fault! I asked her to tuck in, it was going to be cold. She never sleeps with furs on, ever... She told me once its because in her sleep she tangles around a lot... they constrict on her... makes her think of when he held her down. The brown said from his perch, his tone was plaintive and worried. His eyes swirling with the emotions as he whined in pain. He had done this to his mine, but he had been worried she might get cold! His attention turned towards the violet and barred that where talking, and then to the blue. He knew that any dragon could hear him when he spoke right now, he made it that way.
"NO... No matter what color I ride, I will never feel safe, because he impressed too... He is in the weyr..." Meagen said as the other female told her she was safe. Her hands pressed over her frame. She had never cried since that first time, she had made it a mechanism, tears showed weakness pain... Damian no... D'ian now... D'ian thanks to his damn impression. She kept her hand in Beka's as she curled up on the other two females. Shaking harder as hot tears poured down her face.
Hope chirped at her quizzically, sending off Dancer and Dip and Skip. They where still young to the group, and only just getting used to the night terrors. Fellan and Jareth where just minorly used to it. But she and Guardian had been through many tough times, they had turns of getting used to it. Slowly the other flitters vanished, for some late night snaking, leaving the gold and eldest bronze to comfort her with the two young women.
Toath turned towards answering now, that he had a blue asking as well. Many turns before mine met any of us, and mine... she was... forced into mating by a male that is in our ranks at this very time. He didn't like her answer... she said no... no... she said no... she didn't want the mating... he forced her... she dreamed of it again... Its all my fault... all my fault... I asked her to sleep in furs tonight, I was so worried she would get cold... didn't want her to be sick... He bemoaned the fact to the three dragons now talking with them. As well as any dragon that was listening in on the conversations.

Screams rent the air- Kalen was up immediately. Someone was hurt! He transferred between, holding an image of many fire lizards in his head.
He came out to see a group of weyrlings crowding the sad one. He landed in the sad one's lap, and hissed angrily at the others. Why did they make the sad one sadder? He looked up to the sad one, and gave a quiet chirp. How could he cheer her up?

K'in K'in lay sound asleep on his bed, which was all to rare, as he himself was lost in dreams. But his were not dreams of horrific memories or anything of that sort. No, his were dreams of his own Utopia. A world were no one had to fear pain, death, or loneliness. But reality was there was this was not a Utopian world. Yes, he was happy. He had his Tindereth, his Avair, and he had finally gotten the chance to protect the people of the Weyr. But not everyone was happy in this world and that would never be so.
Avair was asleep on his perch next to K'in's bed, but he was not as heavy a sleeper as K'in was. Any sound could pull him back into reality for he was a very attentive bird. It was a good thing that he was so attentive though, for if he wasn't, he wouldn't have been awakened by Meagen's loud scream. With a shriek of surprise, Avair leaped into the air and started to circle the room, calling for his sleepy head of a owner and his dragon to wake up.
But he didn't have to awaken the dragon though, for the dragon had awaken the moment the scream filled the air. In fact, the scream had startled him so much that he fall right off his sleeping couch. A little startled by what happened, Tindereth rolled on to his feet, and looked around a little to make sure everything was alright. K'in-mine! K'in, wake up mine! Something is wrong! I heard someone scream, mine! Wake up! Tindereth shouted in the his's mind as he ran over to his hand started to headbutt the bed his slept on. He knew he slept like a rock and he knew it would take a while to get his up if he didn't do this.
It was after a few moments of, his dragon headbutting his bed and his hawk shrieking, that he finally awakened. Shouting up in his bed, a look of confusion played across K'in's face. "What in Faranth's name!?!?" K'in said as Tindereth finally stopped headbutting his bed and Avair stopped shrieking. He automatically turned his attention to his dragon and threw him a questioning look and thought.
But his attention was turned away from his rider at that moment for his clutch brother, Toath had started to speak. Tindereth was glad that he had heard what he had heard for he knew that his would like to hear it. Turning his attention back to his, Tindereth relayed all that he had heard to his and added, Toath's is in great pain, mine... I heard her scream...
K'in's face, which had been confused at first, swiftly turned to anger. Someone who had become a dragonrider had done such a horrible thing? And someone in there ranks? He could feel his anger grow by the moment. With his new rank, he had also decided to take on the responsibility of protecting everyone in the Weyr because he considered himself strong enough to do it now. To learn that one of the people he had decided to protect was harmed by another, even if it was long ago, outraged him to the point that he hoped never to find out said person's name. He didn't know what he would do to the person if he did find out... But he knew that it would not be good...
Knowing that anger wouldn't help anyone at the moment, K'in leaped out of his bed and started to pull cloths on. As he did this, he could feel a questioning nudge from his dragon and he snapped, "What do you think I'm doing? I am going to see if Meagen is alright! She seems like such a tough girl, there must be something wrong with her if she is freaking out like this. No, I may not know her personally, but that doesn't change the fact that she was hurt by whatever happened. I may not be able to take care of the guy that did it. But I can try to comfort her at least." As he finished talking, he pulled on his boots, slipped on his bracer, and was ready to go.
Walking out of his room, K'in started in the direction of Meagen's room as fast as he could without running. His handsome tan, Tindereth, and his hawk, Avair, followed close behind him as he continued onward. It didn't take long for K'in to reach Meagen's living quarters. But when he got there, though he wanted to storm into see if she was alright, he stopped and tapped on the door lightly. He lifted his arm so that Avair could land on the leather bracer upon it. Tindereth stopped beside him as they silently waited for someone to tell them they could come in. He knew better then to just walk into a ladies room.

Beka wasn't sure what to do, she'd never comforted anyone in her life, so she wasn't sure what had made her think she'd be any good to Meagan. Raising her free hand, Beka brushed Meagan's hair back gently, recalling the one time her own mother had done it to her. It had been soothing at the time, maybe it would help Meagan.
"He?" Beka stiffened slightly, attempting to understand what was going on in Meagan's head. What she meant. Had some man hurt her as well? Someone who was at the weyr? "Meagan, Toath won't let anyone hurt you." It was possibly the most confident sentence that had ever come from Beka, glancing around at the others as though waiting for them to add something. They would... Add something, surely they didn't expect her to calm Meagan on her own?
Hush Toath. It is not your fault. You did not know that it would frighten her. How could you know? You were only doing the best for Yours. It is alright, not your fault Toath. Mermaiyeth's voice lost it's stern edge as she spoke gently to her clutch brother, concentrating on calming him down as she would calm Valiant or Hers. Gentle, soft, anything non threatening. Being stern with him would probably only distress both him and His.
As Toath spoke again, Mermaiyeth's voice softened even further, she understood what it was like to have her bonded frightened by dreams like that. If she'd been certain of his reaction, the little barred probably would have left to give him a cuddle or something, instead, she merely kept talking, Oh Toath... Sympathetic and concerned, Mermaiyeth waited a second before speaking again. Yours is afraid of this male? It is horrible that she should have been forced like that Toath, it is. Mine was too, I see her dreams too. They frighten me as well, but it is not your fault Toath. You were worried for her, it just shows how much you love her, it doesn't mean that you meant to make her dream. It is not your fault.

So the man/boy who had caused this all, having long past committed a hannis crime, was amounst them?! As much as she would like to see justice served, the last thing they needed to do was cause a insane snake hunt and shun one of their own numbers. Her arms gently cradled Meagen like she was a little child, hushing softly to try and calm the poor girl.
He did a bad thing to her! The violet's eyes began showing wisps of red and her talons raked the floor. Not only was she soon becoming one of the largest dragons in the Weyr but she was a queen and could command the obedience of every dragon. This was a soon being a dangerous situations.
"Enough Jorindath!" Inolyn snapped, hints of her dragons fury rang in her voice as she rose to take control of this before it could explode out of proportion.
"Now everyone! I don't want any of you to try and hunt him down! We're stuck together till our dragons are grown and the last thing we need to to start dividing and excluding our own." The Harper girl tried to catch the eye of every single person in the room, just to know she had made herself clear.
"Now Meagen..." Her voice was now soft and gentle, "I know your scared but what happened is in the past. You can't let him control you like this, you can't let him win! Toath is by your side for the rest of your lives, he will protect you as will all our dragons. You are safe..."
As if to try and prove the point Jorindath pushed her way threw to rest her head on Meagen's lap, large eyes swirling brilliant blues and greens.

Meagen looked up as there was a knocking on the door. At that same time, a little flitter landed on her lap, and she transferred him to her arms. Petting and stroking him, as Inolyn held her in her arms. "I don't have to be afraid... to know that I will never be free of him." She whispered as she curled up in the Violet riders lap. The queen rider had a point. "After graduation, I will reveal who it is to all of you..." she whispered.
She cleared her throat now as the knocking happened a little louder. "Enter" She called out as she sighed softly. She was calming down, and so was Toath, things would be alright, right? She had a sinking feeling that things never really would be alright. The past reminds you, that the scars are real, and that you have to guard yourself zealously, as to not be damaged too much. "Toath has passed out again..." She said with a weak laugh. They all knew about her dragons tendencies to randomly pass out.
"I'm sorry I woke all of you up..." she whispered weakly.

R'mer frowned. "He's -here-? But it does matter. You have a dragon now, and besides..."
The boy was suddenly emboldened, perhaps by Tinth. "If he tries to do that to you again, I'll kick his butt, even if he's a bronze rider."
He paused. "And I'm betting I'd have some help. Right?" He glanced at the others.
He would, too. Why would a dragon choose somebody like -that-?

Kalen crooned softly to the sad one, and rubbed the top of his head along her jaw. He didn't like sadness!
When the other female wrapped her arms around the sad one, Kalen nearly snapped at her. She shouldn't make sad one sadder! And the purple one had the nerve to stick her nose at him! He hissed, ans swiped at the over-large head. That would teach it to make his sad one sad!

The others could say forget it, but Beka knew what Meagan meant. Never escaping. Physically, she could be on the other side of Pern, but he'd always be there, ready to pounce the moment she closed her eyes. Yes, Beka knew exactly what she meant. It was the main factor in what made Beka reach out to touch Meagan's shoulder, more reassurance and understanding in that touch from Beka than a hug would have done.
Reveal it. The idea that there was someone that could be as bad as her father had been terrified Beka, and she didn't even attempt a weak smile as Mermaiyeth wandered over to them, resting her muzzle against Meagan for a moment before looking up at her bonded. So many frightened people, and there was nothing that she could do. Mermaiyeth didn't like being helpless against these things, everything was supposed to have a place, a solution...
This didn't. Crooning softly, she nodded her head before speaking to both Meagan and Hers. It is good he sleeps. I hope I helped some... He needs rest. As do you Toath's.
