Akila had his young charge, bronze Kelna (who had recently Impressed to His loverly Sabre) on what could only be called a training flight. At precisely one month old, it was high time the younger bronze was aware of some things. And Akila, of course, would be the one to inform him.
He spotted a crawling-icky-thing of the same sort as the ones he often cleaning out of Sabresk's bed. With a powerful downsweep of his broad wings, Akila got a few more inches of height, and brought his wings together to surge smoothly into his dive.
Month-old Kelna was none too sure of himself as he followed old Akila. Truth be told, the older bronze intimidated him. The images he sent Kelna were at once wonderful and terrifying. Thread, of course, the young bronze knew about- he'd already fought it- but some of the others-!
Akila's images of a Flight, for instance, were particularly spectacular. One month old, and already he couldn't wait to be old enough to Chase!
His mentor probably saw something, because he dove. Kelna prepared to follow suit, but had to pull up midway through the dive. He over-estimated his trajectory, and nearly plowed into Akila.
Akila landed on the long creature, and broke its lengthy spine with his claws. He got a good grip on it, and flew up to a convenient skybroom limb. One taloned foot firmly embedded in the bark of the limb and the other keeping hold of the crawling-icky-thing, he called for his pupil. The younger bronze looked a bit shaken as he landed next to Akila, which Akila didn't alleviate because he was too busy ripping his kill's belly open.

IT was a wonderful day for a flight, that it was. It was over a month since the hatching of the eggs from her clutch, and she was feeling the need to get out more often. She had wandered out, and found herself flying over a body of water towards an island. She heard a familiar trilling voice, images of her flight jumped to her mind. She popped /between/, ending up near the shoreline and trilled out a call. Hoping that the male would answer...
She felt pretty to day, oh so pretty. For her hide had been oiled recently, and she was glimmering as usual. It wasn't as hard for her bonded as it was for others. Toath slept a lot, the big brown cousin, seemed to ahve problems staying awake for too long... He was probably gonna get biggish... bigger, like the big cousins she had to fly way up, just to see.

If fire lizards could grin, Akla would, because he heard the most lovely sound in the Weyr! His Dancer was nearby- he chirped to her, and slashed out some choice bits of his kill- i.e., the liver and heart.
Kelna flew up, hearing a feminine trill. Was it a Flight? Somehow, he didnd't think so, considering that Akila was just sitting there, but then, the bronze didn't always Chase in every Flight. He saw the green, and flew to her. He chirped excitedly, bubbling over with questions.
Akila silenced his charge's questions with a disciplinary trill, and flew to meet his mate, holding the choice bits out for her.

Dancer gave a trill of joy, her voice fluttering almost as she heard his returned call. As he flew towards her she flew circles and corkscrews in her excitement. Her trill increasing as the little bronze started to ask her questions. She was focused on akila, her akila... till her next flight at least. She shifted and reached out accepting the bits he offered. Gobbling them almost, and letting her tongue snake out to go across his cheek.
Where in she then twined her neck with his, and gave a trill of happiness. She landed on a branch and shuffled back and forth, making room for him to land as well. She looked at the younger bronze, and passed the mental image along to Akila, who was the younger bronze?

Kelna was ignored! Well, he'd see about that! In typical Kelna logic, he popped between to get the other young lizard's that looked to the same His!
Akila fixed an image of Kelna Hatching, and then one of Sabre Impressing the little bronze, and passed them to Dancer as explanation. Just because he was supposed to be teaching didn't mean he couldn't spend some time with his lovely mate!
_~_
Barred Chartreuse didn't especially want to go anywhere, particualarly not without her sisters. She roused Echidna and India when Kelna came, and chirped to them about Kelna's suggestion.
India was immediately agreeable to exploring, and popped between without consulting her sisters.
One down, two to go! Kelna managed to give little India his coordinates before she left. After she transferred, he turned his attentions to the barreds.
Echidna didn't want to go anywhere. She had been up late with Sabresk, talking to the big queen via chirps and whistles, and just wanted to sleep the day away.
Chartreuse gave up on her sister, and chirped her agreement to Kelna. Coordinates were given, and she was off!

Akila tore a long strip out of his kill, and had just stuffed it into his mouth when two of his daughters came, followed by a very smug Kelna!
Kelna gave a giggle-type chirp at Akila's flabbergasted expression. He corkscrewed, chortling.
India pounced on her father's tail, trilling happily. Playtime! She loved play-time! She was about to bite Akila's tail when she noticed the other green. Immediately, she went shy. Who was she? Little India sent an inquisitive thought to the other green, hiding behind her father.
Chartreuse was busy playing with Kelna- she didn't have time to bother with a strange green her Akila was talking to! Wait a sec...strange green? Chartreuse landed behind India with an undignified thud, and hissed accusingly at Akila. How dare he consort with other greens!
Akila found himself the victim of his daughters' ire. He passed a few images to them, and chirped once to indicate that they were not to question him. To explain it to Dancer, he gave her an image from their mating, and then the eggs.

Sith squawked at the other flitters as he burst from between, doing a few corkscrews and barrel rolls to show off for the various greens and barreds. Perching slightly above Akila, he warbled, watching the baby flitters carefully. If His wanted another flitt, Sith wouldn't know what to do; he wasn't exactly fond of the baby hatchlings that seemed to be everywhere in the Weyr. One had even followed him around to get the coordinates!
Iliek had been drawn away from his spot on Princth's head by the chittering of other fire lizards that were his age, and had intercepted another blue for the coordinates. The older blue was stubborn and wouldn't give them to him, so Illiek had followed him everywhere in the Weyrbowl, determined to have some fun. He arrived, perching next to the bigger blue and chirping at Akila questioningly, watching the others in fascination.

Dancer tilted her head to the side, and watched the new arrivals. Twining her neck with Akila's and chirping softly to him. There was a lot of new flitters now, her eyes swirled with contented colors and swirled with understanding. She watched the new ones and chirped, wondering which of them came from her eggs. Which where hers and akila's children?
Skip chirped as he came from between hanging in the air, and then swirling around in a spiral. Calling to the younger generation to play. He knew that Dancer probably wanted to croon with her mate. It was pretty sweet she was sticking with someone for a change, sad as it may seem.
Dip gave a chirp as he mentally smirked and rose up into the air. He swirled around Skip and then darted away. Trying to get the younger generation to get to play.

Aldin wasn't particularly entertained at the moment as he burst out of between at one of his favorite little hunting spots. It was occupied! Not only by one or two fire-lizards...but by a whole great fair of them!
They were all tame, he could tell. He had seen them around the Weyr and he came in for a lazy landing near a group of seemingly mateless females. No need to make another male angry for no reason! He chirruped to the other lizards as to why they were here. He was sure not expecting company on a hunting trip!

Chartreuse was the first to wing-shrug her acceptance of Akila's associations with the green. She sprang into flight, and turned to find a new perch. She picked out a pair of blues, perched slightly above Akila. She flew to join them, chirping excitedly. She was so happy! She had never seen so many of her own kind before!
Akila scratched out some more meat from the kill he held, and flipped it to his proprietory daughter. He gave Dancer the mental image of two barreds and a green, answering her question.
India caught the morsel deftly, and swallowed it whole. She gave Dancer another long glare, and flew to join the two blues swirling around in the sky, chirping to them. Did they wanna play?
Kelna was corckscrewing happily when the new bronze joined the group. He, being the brash bronze he was, issued a high, screeching challenge. What did the new bronze want?
Arkine was bored- Kyre wouldn't play with him, and he couldn't find Rekli. He transferred to a hunting spot, intending to take his frustrations out on some unsuspecting creature. Instead, he found himself in the middle of a growing fair! He joined the airborne trio, not bothering to ask if it was okay.

Was that bronze challenging him!? Aldin spread his wings and creeled back. He was actually here to hunt!
How could there be so many fire-lizards here at one of his favorite spots at one time? He would hunt in a minute, but at the moment...he would try to secure at least a chance at a mate soon enough.
He crooned to the nearby females and showed off his loverly profile, well...that's what His said anyway. He would see if flaunting got him anywhere!

Sith watched the green carefully but made no efforts to associate with her. He was hungry; N'rek had been cutting back on the snacks Sith was allowed to eat. Spying a small wherry, the blue dove at it, talons gripping it tightly as he flapped hard. He didn't want the others to swarm around his kill, so he took it a few dragonlengths away before beginning to eat.
Iliek ignored the other blue, more interested in the green. Warbling to her pleasantly, the blue fanned his wings, hoping to impress her. He'd never been around so many females, so this was something new.
