Name: M'colm, but likes to be called Mal

Appearance:
-the eyes: Mal has light blue, almost green-colored eyes. The eyes are flecked with brown near the inside.
-the hair: Mal’s hair is at best rugged. He cuts his hair to look like he was once in some sort of military, yet he wasn’t. His hair is a darker variation of brown and looks suiting on him.
-the face: Mal’s face is strong and sturdy, and not at all welcoming-looking. Besides that, his face usually holds a smile, though if he doesn’t like you or doesn’t know you, his face will probably be so grim you won’t want to talk to him.
-the clothes: He wears anything as long as they’re neutral colors. He especially loves a brown coat, which he wears almost all the time, even while he’s flying. People say coats mean he’ll get caught by a wingtip, or Thread, or something weird like that, but his coat had never gotten caught.
-the height and weight: Mal stands at 6 feet 1 inch, and doesn’t like to tell how much he weighs.
-the scars: There are a couple scars here and there, but nothing much worth mentioning.
Personality: Mal doesn’t much like his chosen name (Malcolm or M’colm) so he insists that everyone call him Mal. If they don’t, he will, more than probably, find a way to make them. He’s very loyal to anyone who is above him, and his friends. He’s also very harsh, and looks at most of the world like that: ruggedly. You’ll always see him telling others what to do, or when to work. Though he’s rough, he has a happier side to him, get him happy, he actually smiles! He is actually mostly happy, though he may not look it. He’s happiest in his element, that is near his closest friends, Weyrmate, family, and/or dragon.
Now around the candidates he's a harsh old man. That's exactly what they call him. 'Harsh Old Man.' But do they really think that raising a dragon for the rest of their life compairs to him? I wouldn't think so, as he is just readying them for what is to come. He knows more about being a dragonrider than most, even if he's only been a dragonrider for a number of Turns.

--Siblings: Kaylee (Sister), River (Sister, youngest), Simon (Brother), Zoe of Blue Wasth (Sister, second-oldest), J’yne of Green Veerath (Brother)
Born in a Hold far from the Weyr, Mal is the oldest of six children to the two riders who were stationed there. Mal helped his father, B’ook of Blue Shepherth, rule the Hold, as the old Holder had died and had not had any children to take his place. B’ook hadn’t really wanted this as an occupation, but the Holders had chosen him. Since B’ook had had little experience with this type of thing, he let his family help him make decisions. Mal, being the oldest, got to help out the most, besides Inara, the children’s mother.
Then a freak accident killed both Inara and B’ook, and their dragons, keening uncontrollably, went between. The Hold was once again Holder-less, and everyone was looking for another Lord Holder. Since the job of Lord Holder is passed on from father to best son, everyone automatically looked to Mal. Around that time, Zoe, who was only two Turns younger than Malcolm himself, was Searched. She stood at a Hatching and Impressed a Blue dragon, who promptly named himself Wasth. She was ecstatic. Back to Mal, he very strongly disagreed with becoming Lord Holder. He even pleaded to be Searched to get away from the people’s scrying eyes.
But he could not leave, not while River (who was at the time only 3 Turns) was still that young. He had to look after every one of his siblings, since Zoe, who had been doing so, was away training to become a dragonrider. For that he scorned all dragonriders, since they had taken Zoe away in this time of need. He was only 18 Turns then. Soon, two Turns later, Zoe came back, and her dragon automatically Searched him. But Mal would have nothing with the Blue dragon or its Searches, he only knew that Zoe was back and she could help the family.
Two more Turns passed by, and Mal was at the oldest age he could be for Candidacy. Jayne had accepted the Search, and had been Impressed to Green Veerath. It was only then, when River was old enough for Kaylee and Simon to look after her at 7 Turns, that he accepted Wasth’s request (through Zoe of course) and stood at the Sands. He was highly doubtful, and didn’t even realize that a Bronze dragonet was looking for him. When he turned to look at the gray-bronze dragonet, their minds connected, and Malcolm was made M’colm (yet he insisted on Mal) and his dragon was named Serenith.
The two trained as Weyrlings for two Turns, and then went back to the Hold to stay for a while. When Mal was called back to the Weyr he found it deserted, or whatever happened to it. Instead, he moved his family (with the help of Zoe and her dragon) to a Hold closer to Nyocia Weyr.
There, and at the Weyr itself, is where Malcolm and Serenith and his family have stayed. It was then that he decided to become a Candidate Master, as to teach the kids all about becoming a dragonrider. They hate him, the kids. But he's just doing his job.

Dragon Color: Bronze ;; Serenith is a bronze by color, but he has a slight grayish hue to him that he always carries with him, no matter what. His main coloring is a light bronze. He has gray swirls around his body. They center around the top of his head in a weird manner.
Dragon Personality: Serenith, where Mal is harsh and rough, is soft and precise. He is a perfect match for his life-mate, who only seldom shows his emotions. Serenith loves young children, and River, Mal’s youngest sister, is his favorite person other than Mal himself. He loves to play, and doesn’t at all act like the Bronze he should be. He takes after the word ‘Serenity’ entirely.
