I'sif stretched wearily, wincing as he felt his back crack. Shifting his bundle of clothing from one hip to the other, he sighed. He'd never known taking care of a young dragon was so hard! When he wasn't feeding or oiling Zeuth, he was cutting up the meat to feed his blue or doing chores.
He was lucky that Zeuth had fallen asleep after his last feeding; I'sif had been making do with quick rub-downs for baths for days now and he really wanted to be able to take a long, proper bath. Peering around the boy's baths warily, I'sif made certain that they were deserted.
He plunked his bundle down on a small ledge near the bath, grinning all the while. He didn't mind people coming in once he was in the water but the blue weyrling was always careful to avoid undressing around anyone else. While it was one thing if you were undressing in front of your family, it was quite another to shuck your clothes in front of people you barely knew.
I'sif tugged at his boots and sat them underneath his ledge where they were safe from any water getting into them. Pulling his shirt over his head, he folded it neatly before removing his pants and placing them in a neat pile next to his clean clothes. Eyeing the water, he stepped into it gingerly and was pleased to find that it was warm.
He slipped under the water to wet his hair, then returned to the side to scoop up a generous handful of sweetsand. I'sif stayed near the edge where the water was at waist height and the bag of sweetsand was at hand, working the sand into his hair and scrubbing briskly.

Three fire lizards popped into the air above from between, a green, blue and bronze. The green and blue were squabbling over something, but the bronze only left the other two to flitter around as they saw fit. Gliding down to the edge of the pool he inspected the male human with whirling eyes, he was small for a near mature bronze. The two above finally settled their dispute and joined the bronze, the green pressing herself against the bronze.
Soft taping of feet down the hall alerted the flits to the presence of another. The door opened to reveal a young, blonde haired girl. At first she didn’t see the man in the bathing pool, placing her things down on a bench lost in her own thoughts but at a chirp from the blue made her look over. With a sharp gasp Earisa quickly spun around to have her back face him. “Sorry! I didn’t know anyone was in here.”

K'dric had just entered the boy's bathing room when Earisa turned her back to I'sif. Grinning, he looked past the older weyrling to his bunkmate.
"Womanizing already?" he asked, eyebrow raised and the corner of his mouth tugging into a grin. Stepping around the girl, he stripped his filthy tunic off, and unfastened the top button on his pants. After living in pretty much the same outfit for days, the barred weyrling wanted nothing more than a bath, and not the quick wet-downs he'd been making-do it. A proper bath, one that would soak his tired muscles, and relax him enough to let him slip into a well-earned rest.
Something amuses you.
Just a fellow weyrling. Go back to sleep, lady of mine.
Not long after Impressing, he'd started to call his Minervath 'lady of mine', affirming her singular place in his heart.
"Mind if I join you, I'sif? I'm awful sore from everything, as you probably are."

A series of cold bursts of air made I'sif pause and turn to look over his shoulder cautiously. Glaring pointedly at the squabbling blue and green firelizards, he began to scrub again, figuring that one of the other boys had sent their flitters on ahead to scope out the area.
He didn't expect to see a girl walking into the boy's baths and froze, staring at her in shock as she turned her back. I'sif blushed readily and was surprised when the door opened again.
"Hardly." I'sif's tone was waspish and he glared at his bunkmate briefly before turning around, arms crossing instinctively over his chest. Sighing irritably, he slogged through the bathwater until he could pluck at her sleeve. "You should go." He was a little gentler with her than he was with K'dric, but K'dric wasn't a girl that needed to be coddled.
He tossed his answer back to K'dric over his shoulder curtly, careful to avoid looking at the barred weyrling. "I don't mind."

"yes..." Earisa was doing her best to conceal a blush. Though being Weyr born and bred, she had her modesty which few mature riders had. A few tended to walk around half naked from time to time in the warmer seasons but it was mostly by the lake. She blamed her trio for this, she had followed them as usual instead of looking where she was going.
Leaving the bronze was right behind her followed just after by the blue. The green however looked at the boys. Strange creatures they were, nothing like mistress. A sharp whistle echoed down the hall before she too was gone, popping out between to catch up with the others.

"Good. 'cause I'm coming in!"
K'dric dropped trou, and took a running start to cannonball into the bathing pool. The force of his landing sent a tidal wave at I'sif, probably swamping him if he didn't jump out of the pool.
He surfaced, and stretched out on his back, letting the water buoy his weight.
"Finally! No more sweat, no more grime!"
The barred weyrling glanced over to I'sif, a playful flint in his eye.
"Oi, I'sif!"

I'sif didn't expect K'dric's jumping in the pool but he wasn't about to jump out of the pool to avoid the mass of water, letting it splash wildly around him. He went under the water, hands rubbing at his hair to rid it of the remnants of the sweetsand. When he was certain it was all gone, he surfaced again, running his hands through his damp hair.
He turned at K'dric's shout and froze suddenly mid-turn, blue eyes flicking over the barred rider's body automatically. After a long moment I'sif forced his eyes up and away, face flaming. Compared to K'dric, I'sif knew he looked much more slight and perhaps even feminine. I'sif was all sharp angles, narrow hips and long limbs; K'dric was of the ideal worker's muscular frame and I'sif felt he didn't measure up to the barred weyrling at all.
It also didn't help that all I'sif could think about was what it would be like to kiss K'dric... I'sif bit his lip, eyes fixed on the water directly in front of him, head turned down to avoid looking at K'dric. He wanted to look his fill but K'dric was likely to beat him into the floor for it; hadn't K'dric told him that after Hatching?
At a loss for what to say, the blue weyrling stood still, frustrated that he couldn't bring himself to move. Moving seemed like the reasonable thing to do but he would see K'dric again later; the fact that they shared a room made it pretty much impossible to avoid the barred weyrling.

Great! Now I'sif couldn't look at him. He surpressed a groan, and instead retorted lightly, "You gonna hog the sweetsand all night? Toss it!"
He held his hands over his head, holding them in a way that wasn't quite catching a bag, or something heavier.
Kalen snuck in through the door, left slightly ajar, and looked around slyly. He wanted some fun! And oh, look, here was the nice boy that roomed with His! Chortling to himself, he prceeded to move in a manner that clearly said that he THOUGHT he was being sneaky, when in fact he wasn't.

"I ought to hoard it for myself. Zeuth has been running me ragged all of this sevenday." I'sif hefted the half-full bag of sweetsand and tossed it to the other weyrling, grinning all the while. "But you probably know all about that. Does your barred keep you on your toes too?
I'sif heard the scrabble of talons on the stone and turned, smiling at the blue firelizard. "One of yours. You seem to to have a shadow wherever you go, K'dric."
The blue weyrling splashed at the blue but always gently. He didn't want to drown the poor thing with a massive tidal wave!

"Why do you think I haven't had time for a bath yet? Minervath keeps me hopping!"
I'm s'ry, Kenny.
Don't worry about it, lady of mine. Sleep, you've had an active day.
K'drid caught the bag, and grabbed a handful of sand. It foamed in the water, but felt so wonderful against his filthy, grimy skin. He threw the bag at the side of the pool, and submerged himself completely. Under the cover of the water, he shot from one end of the pool to the other, breaking the surface with a laugh.
He had been spotted! Kalen squawked a porotest a a wave of water hit him. Furious, he proceeded to scold the evil weyrling in manners.
K'dric raised an eyebrow, and looked at the angry blue.
"At least it's just Kalen. Besha could have followed me. I swear, that canine loves the water."
