Appearance: On the very tall side of women, Kora stands at 6'1". She is thin, although not excessively, and her shape seems to sort of get lost in her height. Her build is athletic. While she is not unattractive, her body is suited towards work, not looks.
Kora has a long face, accentuated by a narrow nose and sharp chin. Her dark brown eyes have a slight angle to them. Her short, hardly chin-length, hair is a brunette shade only slightly off from her eyes.
Kora usually wears clothes with more natural colors, shades of white and brown turning up most often in her wardrobe.
Personality: After nearly seven Turns of living with Nayarath, Kora's personality has progressed. She is no longer the shy, trusting woman she was before. She is still quiet, but far more confident and capable. A few tough experiences and having a bold dragon always at her back has made her the assertive, yet understanding person that most look for in a Weyrwoman.
The main fault she has gained is that she has grown far more distrustful of people. Although before it took a lot for Kora to think anyone could ever want to hurt someone else, she has dropped that bar severely. She still tries to assume the best of others, but she is far more willing to also notice their faults. She is especially protective of her own feelings, and although it's not hard for her to get along with others, coming to trust them is harder.
Kora is generally calm in bad situations, but makes up for this by getting overly frantic over little things. She has a tendency to dwell on bad experiences and holds long grudges.
History: Kora’s parents had been weyrmates for some time before her mother, a Greenrider named Senora, finally gave birth to the pair’s first and only child. K’san and Senora were very excited to have a child, but didn’t have a lot of time for her and so Kora grew up more or less without her parents around. And when Kora was eight K’san’s Blue, Renorth, died in an accident that shouldn’t have ever happened while dragons were out exercising. K’san went into a state of empty shock that Senora could never get him out of before he died a couple months later.
With their weyrmates gone, Senara and her Green, Alisath, mourned for a while. But when Alisath rose again, she chose a new mate and seemed very content with this Brown. Senara decided she liked his rider a lot too, and so was alright. Kora fell to the back of her mother’s mind.
Left mostly to herself, Kora tried to befriend others at the Weyr. It quickly became apparent that although she liked to be in others company and there were plenty who would be her friends, Kora would never be the most social of people and so although she attended events and generally traveled in a group, she wasn't necessarily involved, just there.
And then Thread began to fall. Kora watched with disgusted fascination as the dragons flew out to fight it only to return badly scored. Many were dying and not many eggs were being laid… it was a problem. She was thirteen when the clutch of seventeen eggs was laid, and so Kora stood at it, thinking she could Impress and maybe help fight Thread. She didn’t, and so waited for more eggs.
It was at Unuth’s first clutch that she Impressed, much to her surprise, the Gold Nayarath. KoraMine, Nayarath is hungry and everyone here seems so anxious! The dragon had said to her after a long search of the female Candidates. Overjoyed and shocked at the same time, she led her new dragon off to be fed.
It wasn’t much after that Nayarath convinced Kora to attend a fire-lizard hatching, where she ended up Impressing a Violet. She named the flitt Lilac. With a new dragon and fire-lizard, Kora basically had her work cut out for her through Weyrlinghood.
Finally they escaped those barracks though. But now Nayarath was approaching the point where she was old enough to Rise. Shortly after turning three, she did just that. After a long Flight, she finally chose the Bronze Alduth to Fly her and later headed to the Sands to lay a mighty clutch of twenty-six eggs.
From there, Kora and Y'xem's relationship sparked, and it seemed obvious to the entire Weyr that they were very fond of each other, Kora of Y'xem, especially. She appreciated that he had given her an easy way into not only ruling the Weyr- he was a very capable Weyrleader- but into a relationship. Alduth caught Nayarath again in her second Flight, but it wasn't long after that when things started to fall apart.
In the end, Y'xem ended up leaving and Kora was left heartbroken and shaken up. L'han moved in as a capable Weyrleader, and made attempts at catching Kora's affection, but he moved a bit too fast for her and only left her drifting away further. Confusing spats between the pair were no help.
Bronze Kayth caught Nayarath in her next Flight, and D'mas, a fairly new rider, seeing as Kayth was a hatchling from Nayarath's first clutch, became Weyrleader. Although Kora found him capable and come to trust and respect him, they were little more than casual bedmates in the relationship department. She was trying it, as she puts it "Shador's way".
When Nayarath rose again, it was Tan Wuith that won, putting L'han back into the position of Weyrleader. Kora, torn between trying to respect Nayarath's decision, the new Weyrleader, and how to treat the man that had been her bedmate for some time, ended up putting D'mas out of her weyr and trying to take things alone. However, Shador was murdered not long after, leaving Kora, and the rest of the Weyr, very shaken. Shador was a close friend to her, one of very few. When D'mas, frustrated with Kora, told her he had been in love with someone else the whole time they had been together, it didn't help her at all.
At the moment, Kora is trying to make the best of things, but is in truth feeling very unstable. She is almost terrified of L'han, and kept separate from the other queenriders by a variety of misunderstandings that circle Nayarath. She's so worried about messing things up, like she feels like she's done with just about everyone else she knows, that she is too nervous to make many attempt at fixing things too. Stuck basically too herself, she spends a lot of her time dreading Nayarath's next Flight and it's unpredictable outcome.

Violet Fire-lizard Lilac
Age: 6
Appearance: Lilac is a medium-dark violet, although still more on the light side than dark, especially when she is wet. Her hide is basically the same color throughout, with darker streaks here and there along her barrel. Lilac’s wing membranes are very light compared to the rest of her, sometimes seeming more blue than lavender. She is on the larger end of Violet sizes.
Personality: Lilac is a queen and knows it. She loves to tell others what to do and is always showing off in some way or other. She doesn’t have the cold, airy personality of some queens though but is more bubbly and energetic… she just likes to have others do what she wants. Obedience from others makes Lilac happy inside.

Tan Fire-lizard Soot
Age: 3
Appearance: Although sporting the average markings and color of a Tan, the stripe down Soot's back seems much more scattered than most Tan's stripes are. It looks more like someone came and spattered ashes in a vague line down his back, hence his name. The stripes on his legs are normal though, and although his wing membranes are a bit lighter than the rest of his hide, he is overall one color.
Personality: A bouncy and friendly Tan, Soot is very used to submitting to the wishes of fire-lizards bigger than him, Violet's especially because of his bossy big sister. He is a bit of a dare-devil too and will never hold back in when pursuing a female flitt or in normal flights or gaming.

Appearance: Squeak is small, but has a heavyset, powerful build, and he packs a punch on the rare occasion that he decides to fight or, more commonly, gets scared and hurts something as he tries to run. His fur is a drab gray, and the speckles of black and brown occur only down his back, not spreading to his sides or belly. His eyes are brown.
Personality: When he is with those he's comfortable with- namely, Kora and Lilac- Squeak is very calm, loyal, and happy. Any other presence, however, makes him nervous. He is shy and jumpy, easily startled by just about anything or anyone. He usually keeps out of the way when others are around, although Kora is often bringing him with her to places, hoping that with some socialization he will calm down.

Oddly, the lower half of her body seems to be tinged slightly with red here and there; some sunsets are said to be red touched with gold, well, Nayarath is the other way around. She is a slightly smaller Gold though, only about 48 meters long, but says that her size will do nothing but make her more agile in flight. So far this proves true.
Personality: Nayarath may be small for Gold but her personality is huge. She is almost the complete opposite of Kora: outgoing, teasing, playful. Nayarath puts in a small effort in getting along with everyone, but her teasing yet queenly attitude tends to make people feel like she is a very rude dragon and has left her overall... disliked. She has been mellowing out, but is still very much a vain, picky queen.
