The oddest thing was sitting on one of the dining room tables. Kagen were rare enough that their presence still tended to be noticed. This particular example was a peach Kagen, and she was sitting up and begging.
For, of course, bits of her owner's salad. Said owner, a certain young greenrider, was attempting to satisfy the Kagen with salad and a bronze firelizard with meat...which ended with him offering the wrong item to the wrong pet, both of whom turned up their noses in gestures so matching that all the young man could do was burst out laughing at his own expense.
"Gah! I'm sorry, guys!" He switched the treats to the appropriate jaws, still laughing.
Trouble, of course, just kept glaring at his owner. And the kagen, because it was obviously her fault. Without her, he wouldn't have been offered *greens*!
