You need to be clean too, GwenMine
Gwen laughed a bit, scrubbing her dragon's left wingsail. "I should be by the time I've finished with you, dearest."
Tyrth's small size was compensated for by the fact that he needed to be bathed more often than the 'normal' dragons...he showed ever speck of dirt and was no less vain than his rider.
He swept his wing into the water, drenching her. Now you're clean
She spluttered. "Tyrth!"
The white dragon bent his head around to regard her, the very picture of innocence...matched by the firelizard that seemed to have appeared between his headknobs.
"Don't tell me you want to be bathed too, Spunky..."

Zukah lead her still growing Barred down to the lake, having located a new patch of hide that showed signs of flacking. That only ment one thing; bathing and oiling. It wasn't something that neither rider nor dragon particularly enjoyed but both agreed that it was completley nessesary. Valkyrinth could only be described as rough and therefore had to be oiled more frequently so she didn't completely destroy her hide.
The barred dragonet however seemed to be destracted, always keeping her eyes on the little white dragon not too far away. He was different, stange and she found herself not really liking the older yet smaller male. He just did not fit in.
You shouldn't splash your rider like that, she did not appear to like it The barred snapped at him, known to the woman scrubbing her hide.

Tyrth tilted his head. She's *my* rider, not yours. He gave the barred something not that far from a killer glare, then settled down, letting Gwen finish scrubbing his wings.
"Hey there, Zukah," Gwen greeted. The barred was, of course, already quite a bit bigger than Tyrth...although nothing, Gwen thought, beat the size contrast of her white next to a gold.
She looked good, though. Gwen might not have minded a barred herself...of course, she had been convinced she was worthy of gold or nothing for so long. Learning otherwise had been a shock, but...it was odd. She truly felt *right* with Tyrth, and it had chased all of that out of her head for good.

So? She didn't like it! Valkyrith growled warningly. Her wings rose up in an offensive stance, showing much of her vibrent purple markings. if the little white wanted a fight she would give him one.
"Val! Stop it now!" Zukah yelled at her dragon. At Impression the tall girl would hardly concider raising her voice, let alone at a dragon. But this wa her barred, and she knew exactly what kind of personality she had. Valkyrinth meant well, but just had a rotten way of trying to force others to listen to her and then fought them if she didn't like what she heard.
The Barred glarred at the little white intencely, holding her stance so strongly her hide rippled but she released it to fall into a dignified sit. "I'm sorry Gwen, she's always like this... Almost as bad as Voluspath"

Gwen flicked a finger towards the barred shape on Tyrth's head. "She's a barred. You don't need to tell me about barreds. I think Spunky and Valkyrith are made of the same mold...just Valkyrith's a lot smarter."
Which probably made her harder to handle. As if to demonstrate to the barred that she was, really, not at all upset with her dragon, Gwen stepped over, splashing, to the white's head and rubbed an eyeridge.
"Of course, we don't have any white firelizards to compare Tyrth to." As far as she knew there had never been one. Perhaps...it was hard enough for a white dragon to survive. Tyrth might not have had another egg not fallen on his and helped him out, as it were.

"I don't think so, Valkyrith isn't like any of the other dragons I've seen..." Most dragons were calm, typical of their color or over excited but few were agressive at nearly all candlemarks of the day. Queens got broody that put them in a bad mood till their clutch hatched, but Val was a barred. All that had come before her didn't have such a personality trait. "Well I have heard brown Aresth, who has the voice of about 3 dragons when he's angry."
Giving a final scrub to the faided green and purple hide and slapped Valyrinth's neck to send her into the water. The barred growled as she finally tore her eyes away from the white to bathe in the lake. Tyrth was too different, and maybe too small to ever mate. Wasn't much of a dragon really...

Tyrth, perhaps catching Valkyrith's mood, spread his wings out to their fullest extent. He was a real dragon! He was as good as any bronze, and he would prove it!
"Then, I guess, she and Spunky did pick up the same personality." The barred flit lifted from Tyrth, landed on Gwen's shoulder...and pulled her hair.
"Ow...see? She's a crazy barred. The only time she's ever nice is when she's proddy!"
Spunky pulled Gwen's hair again and the white rider rolled her eyes. "Hopefully she won't rise again any time soon...but she's certainly her normal self right now. When she did clutch, she didn't want the dragonets to Impress."

Valkyrinth? Proddy?! The barred in the fury of mating lust sent a shiver down her spine. "Oh Shards that sounds scary!" If she didn't like who caught her she would rip him to shreads! Though in the lead up she would have to be somewhat nice to flirt with the males, but still couldn't see that happening.
Valkyrinth stalked out of water, comming up near Tyrth. He might act tough, but when put side by side he was just more then half her size and they were from the same clutch. With a snort she moved on back to her's, flicking water from her wings.
"I wish i had a fire lizard though..." Zukah had never really been them, but it wasn't through lack of trying. After... After things had happened her family had gone Thread crazy and tried to get their hands on as many firelizard eggs they could get since they no longer trusted dragonriders to protect them.

Gwen considered. "Well, when Spunky does fly again, I'll let you know. She threw a nice clutch last time. Only one of them got her personality...one of the greens."
She reached up to scritch the barred, hoping that would distract her from hair-chewing. "And...yeah. I'm sort of glad I don't have to deal with that."
Tyrth just pointedly ignored Valkyrith at this point. Like that would make her feel better...no, it would just make the dragon from wherever she came from even more furious, no doubt. "But seriously, if you don't have one by then..."
