Between the Earth and Sky [affiliate]

"It's been 1200 turns since the last pass that brought thread to our poor planet. Since then we've been living the life we should have been living all along. Compared to back then we've been living in a paradise. People have started to spread out across Pern, leaving the once safety of the mountain holds for more open and wooden buildings. Even the weyrs dispersed until finally all were abandoned. About two hundred turns ago one weyr was made to support a large bunch of the dragonrider population. That was our weyr, Canopy. Named for the way most of the complex is built into the tops of the skybrooms that have grown enormous in the plains of Telgar.

Things are so different now than it was then. There are two new colors in the ranks of the dragons. Not to mention the Drahgen that was born of green's clutch. Times always changes things they say, well it most certainly has on our little world. But I wonder if things are going to stay the way they are. You see, my dear friends, for the past couple of turns a red spot has appeared in the sky. Some say it's Red Star coming back to once again assault Pern with thread. Most believe that it is nothing and that thread will never return. A lot of the normal folk don't even believe that thread ever existed. I guess only time will reveal what the future has in store for us."

We are very new, just opened and in need of just about everything. The story line is a classic, but I promise there will be plenty of plot along with plenty of hatchings.
