Pausing her intense scrubbing, Teodora wiped a drop of sweat from her forehead. When she was sure all drops had been vanquished from their perch on her brow, she bent once more and commenced the hard task of scouring pans. The one which she now cleansed had been crusted with porridge from the morning meal. Someone had forgot to let it soak in warm water after the breakfast had been served, and now the task of scraping and scrubing off the hard and crusty remains fell to her. However, she did not complain. In fact, Teodora was glad for the job. She thought of it as another way to prove herself.
Since moving from Dunac Hold, life as a candidate had not been easy. There was always some work to do, and lessons to attend to. The lessons were a bit more tedious in her opinion, but she learned what was instructed her as eagerly as she now scrubbed the pan in her soapy hands.
With a final shove, Teodora removed the last bit of old porridge and gave a final wash to the pan. Shaking off water droplets on the iron cast, she then set it on the stone counter to dry. Reaching out for another pan, her finger's closed on empty space. Looking up, she discovered that the dishes had been completed. Wiping wet hands on towell, Teodora went to the head cook for another task. He told her she had done well, and to go relax for an hour.
Not likely. There was always work around the Weyr. Loping out of the kitchens, Teodora made her way to the Weyr bowl where there was sure to be some sort of yard work. Once outside, she set herself to the task of clearing the bowl of any loose debris. A gust of wind stirred a stray strand of her dark hair, and she looked up to watch a bronze dragon soaring past. A small smile stirred upon her face. Even if she should fail to Impress one of Jorindath's clutch, Teodora still considered herself lucky to be any part of the Weyr. Still, the thought of never finding a connection with a dragon settled unpleasantly in her stomach. Shaking such unpleasant thougthts from her mind, she focused her attention on the loose bracken and debris to be cleared.

Tirasha was not as impressed by the Bronze flying overhead, as all it did was blow the strands of hair that had escaped her braid around in her eyes. Willow chirped to the Bronze- even though he was much smaller than the dragon, he still viewed him as a fellow and treated the enormous beast as such- and then ducked as Tirasha's hand came precariously close to his perch on her shoulder while she tucked her hair behind her ears.
Used to the activity of dragons, Tianthe completely ignored that brief presence and instead was flying ahead to see how close she could get behind a Canidate girl without alerting her of her presence. Tirasha had been especially irritable towards the little Green lately, it struck her as a good thing to practice. Avoiding notice was definitely not among Tianthe's skills.
Tirasha had plenty of experience with people getting bothered by Tianthe's odd antics though, and sighed as the Green ignored her mental orders to leave the other poor girl alone. Willow remained cheerful as his keeper marched closer to the girl and Tianthe though, not even put out by Tirasha's annoyed mutterings about what a dimglow his sister was. Since V'ire seemed to be out of Tirasha's life, Willow figured he had plenty to be cheerful about.
The Bronze's unnaturally good mood wasn't any help to Tirasha though, who was starting to worry that Tianthe's insanity was infecting him too. Willow had never been a 'happy' fire-lizard. But Tianthe, as usual, was the creature she had to deal with foremost. "Get off her neck, wouldn't you?" Tirasha practically snarled at her flitt, and Tianthe squawked unhappily, and then settled semi-obediently on the Healer's head. As a move of defiance though, she draped her tail across Tirasha's forehead and down her nose.
"Sorry if she was bothering you," Tirasha told the Candidate half-heartedly, meanwhile tucking Tianthe's tail behind her ear as she might a strand of hair. Tianthe gurgled, always happy to make Hers do one of the things she hated most- apologize. "And, uh, by the way... what are you doing?" It almost looked like the girl was gathering debris from the Bowl, a pointless task since every time a dragon spread its wings more was scattered about. It wasn't a job Tirasha believed she had ever seen assigned to Candidates... or anyone, really.
((btw, would you like this moved to the Weyr Bowl, since that's where it seems to have ended up? It's fine to leave it here since it started in the LC, but it just makes more sense to have it where stuff is happening. =P))

OOC: Oh, yeah sure. I had it planned out in the kitchen, but it just sort of wandered into the bowl. lol. Not clear thinking on my part. Sorry.
IC: Stooping to pick up a particularly thick branch, Teodora was oblivious anything approaching from beind. As she straightened, the small hairs on the back of her neck raised, alerting her of the unseen watcher. Grasping the branch in a fist, Teodora turned sharply to confront the creeper. She came almost face to face with a happy looking green fire lizard. The event was so unexpected it startled her, causing her to nearly drop the branch.
Recovering from the shock, Teodora pushed back her long braid of dark hair, trying to seem cool and collected while her heart hammered forecefully in her chest. Waving a hand, she dismissed the strangers apology. "Oh, it's fine, really." The two fire lizards were actually rather cute, and Teodora found the antics of the green amusing now, causing a brief smile to form on her face. It dissapeared at the woman's next question.
"I'm just tidying up the bowl for the dragons. I had an hours rest and decided that even if the task is perhaps moot, the gesture is what counts." Teodora nodded her head, thinking the task reasonable even if other's did not. Dragons were sanitary creatures as well, and deserved their habitat clean, if only for a brief time. Also, Teodora just enjoyed the physical labor, the sun on her skin, and the dragons that flew about. Tilting her head, she regarded the woman before her, thinking she must not be a rider. Most of the riders she had tried to keep in her memory, lest she meet one and fail to show the proper respect. Remembering her manners now, Teodora bowed to the stranger and announced herself, "Candidate Teodora at your service, ma'am."

((lol, that's fine. Maybe Sparrow will move it... my motivation is quickly fleeing. xP))
Goodness, this was an odd girl to not make use of some rest time. If Tirasha ever were to get that- someone might call her breaks rest time, but with Tianthe around it really wasn't- she would take full advantage. She wasn't one for small gestures either. "I don't think eggs pay much attention to someone cleaning up the Bowl." Certain hatchlings might like an excessively helpful attitude, but surely one didn't need to constantly demonstrate it!
Willow and Tirasha couldn't help but exchange skeptical looks when the girl bowed to introduce herself and, not only that, called her ma'am. Of course, that reference brought a slight draconic frown to Willow's face, he only knew one other person who had ever called His ma'am and didn't like the person one bit. Tianthe, on the other hand, was immediately enamored with Teodora.
Tirasha, as usual, had mixed feelings. "I'm Tirasha, and no need to be at my service. I'll be at yours before long, just wait." Oh, the many joys of being a Healer. Candidates and weyrlings were the worst for getting themselves hurt. She could still remember the many casualties of Nayarath's first Egg Touching; according to the gossip the Candidates had practically brought the Gold to her feet with their unruly attitudes.
Of course, she might have done well to bite a few heads off.
Tianthe gurgled at that thought, although she laughed at everything so that really wasn't something to comment on. "If you plan to tidy the Bowl for a while, maybe Tianthe could help you. She sure does seem anxious to follow you around." And Tirasha would prefer the Green was off her head, although her leaving would loose more hairs from her once-perfect braid. "And Willow and I will watch and laugh when someone else comes along and makes a new mess." Tirasha grinned, kidding. Sort of, anyways.

Teodora shrugged again. This task was not done for the eggs or to earn favor by anyone. It was work and she enjoyed work, as simple as that. But she did not take offense by anything Triasha said, even when the woman and the bronze exchanged skeptical glances or when she chuckled. The serving comment was taken as compliment. Perhaps an egg would hatch for her after all.
Teodora's mood brightened considerably at mention of Green Tianthe. Smiling in full now, her cheeks dimpled in the action, she looked upon the green fire lizard appreciatively. "Well, Tianthe can follow me as long as she prefers." Her green eyes glanced back to Tirasha. "As for new messes... maybe I'll leave those be." her smile turned into a humored smirk. "After all, my hours almost up."
Glancing up at the sun, she noted that already she had been tidying up the bowl for a half hour. Another few minutes had passed speaking to Tirasha and her lovely fire lizards. Thinking of an earlier question, she asked the woman, "So, what is your trade? If you need any chores done, I'd be obliged to help." Another glance at the spunky Tianthe. "And I'd get to spend a bit more time with your lovely green." Teodora next took in the bronze, sensing a bit more apprehension from him. She added, "and your handsome Willow."

"I'm sure she will then." Tianthe enjoyed breaks from Tirasha almost as much as Tirasha enjoyed breaks from the Green, although she would need her back once she got back to work. For all her irritating quirks, the flitter always came out helpful in the long run.
If her plans were to leave new messes be, Tirasha had to question the whole idea of cleaning up in the first place. Maybe it was just that she always worked in a sterile atmosphere, keeping everything orderly from the get-go was habit and things that messed themselves up as much as the grounds of the Weyr Bowl were just beyond her. Sure, new messes sprung up in the infirmary all the time, but lots of people also worked to keep them from lingering like they did here.
When Teodora commented on her hour almost being up, Tirasha only barely bit back her comment on how wasted the hour had been. This obviously wasn't a girl who quite got the idea of taking a break, and Tirasha wasn't about to waste breath on it. But her question, well, that deemed an answer. "I'm a Healer, and there are always chores to be done in the infirmary, but I don't think Kett would appreciate me giving them to her Candidates without her consent."
Tirasha and Willow made a similar shocked, spluttering laugh when Teodora referred to Tianthe as lovely. Maybe this girl could do with a trip to the infirmary, though not to help out. "You spend more time with Tianthe and you won't be feeling the same about her." At least this girl knew how to treat Willow; the little Bronze couldn't help but puff out his chest a little at her compliment. Tirasha rolled her eyes. It was bad enough when Golds flirted with him, she didn't need Candidates.

Of course, Kett would probably wish to know what she was up to. Teodora didn't have a problem with that, of course, even if she did it wouldn't matter much. Hopefully Kent would allow her to work with Tirasha, even if the woman wasn't all that friendly. Healing was the trade Teodora would have made a life in if she hadn't gone to the Weyr.
At the hold, her mother had made it a point to teach Teodora of all the mechanics of healing. Most of it had been basic, but there were some deeper things involved. If not for leaving at fifteen, she may have very well been close to a master. Healing was satisfying too. To help people grow healthy again was a gratifying thing. If she could continue to learn a little more about healing, Teodora would be greatful and eager to put her skills to use.
"I hope she is willing to give consent then. I know a bit about healing, actually, from my mother." The sun was at an angle now that it's bright rays shone in her eyes, blinding her. Raising a hand, Teodora shaded her eyes from the golden brilliance. The fire lizards hides glinted beautifully in the sunshine, and she noticed with some satisfaction that the bronze seemed a little more appeased. However, she felt a little sorry for Tianthe. Did her master love her at all?
"I don't think I'd get tired of any sort of dragon." she said, "being the recepient of their love and faithfullness is one of the greatest gifts a human can have." Teodora looked at Tirasha, her voice growing just a little hard. "It should never be taken for granted."

"Oh really?" Tirasha raised her eyebrows. Teodora was probably the sort of person people would want taking care of them, with that helpful, practically over-friendly attitude. It just struck her as annoying though, a trait she saw often in Candidates as if they thought acting too friendly would be more likely to earn them a dragon. "We've had a few come through that knew some about healing, but after they Impressed they didn't have much time to keep the practice up."
If they weren't already plenty good at it, like Tirasha or other Healers who had been at the job for Turns, it was hard to go between dragons and the other trade. There had been a boy who had tried coming back a few times, but mostly only gotten in the way. He couldn't stay with a dragon and all the work that came with that distracting him, but he couldn't work without further instruction.
Now what was she talking about? It sounded practically like a lecture to Tirasha. "You forget, then, that these two are fire-lizards. They hang around because I fed them half a sandwich when they were babies." There was a big difference between flitters and dragons, this girl didn't have either and really didn't have a say in the matter as far as Tirasha was concerned. And yet it sounded like she was getting after her. Who said anything about taking things for granted?
"Obviously, you're in dire need of experience." Tirasha snorted. "I can't loan you Tianthe, or give you an egg since she usually gets those killed before I can do anything about it, but we'll find you something." Willow and Tianthe gurgled, both liking this idea. Tianthe loved friends, and Willow loved... something about it. It was hard to place the Bronze's feelings if they weren't along the lines of anger.

Teodora figured that if she was fortunate enough to Impress a dragon, it would be no loss not to be able to practice more healing. If she failed at the hatching, though, it would be nice to have something to fall back on. After living in the Weyr for two years, she wasn't sure living in a Hold would ever be pleasant. No, she would continue on in the Weyr doing something useful. Healing, preferably.
Forget that they were Fire Lizards? That comment stirred a little bit of anger. Her eyebrows drew down a bit in slight annoyance. She may be a relatively new to the Weyr but she wasn't stupid, as Tirasha seemed to think. But Teodora was not one to let the opinions of others get to her, and she resumed an indifferent expression. She couldn't help but blush a little at the last comment.
Indeed, Teodora did lack experience dealing with dragons or Fire Lizards. Sure, she had read about them and studied the ballads, but, one could only gain so much from text. Hands on experience was always the best teacher. At least in her opinion. Shifting her weight to her left leg, she asked, "Find me something? Any sort of experience would be welcome." voice sincere.

Tirasha smirked slightly, noting the slight changes in Teodora's expression and feeling pleased by the fact that she could get to the girl. Maybe she wasn't as much of a dimglow as she had first seemed, she could take offense to things. Maybe they weren't displayed for long, but part of Tirasha's job was to read the slight changes in a person and she wasn't about to miss anything here.
But she did have a problem now. Where could she find the girl a fire-lizard? It would be a while before Jorindath clutched, much longer before the eggs actually hatched; she couldn't rely on dragons for a lesson. "There probably won't be any wild clutches this time of year," Tirasha mused. That also meant Tianthe wouldn't be flying anytime soon, but there were plenty of flitters around who had been domesticated for several generations. Their instinct to only clutch in the summer, when the heat would care for their eggs, was long gone.
"I'm sure someone's flitter will Rise before long though, I'm surprised how few have done so lately." Tianthe had, but, as she often did, had flown for wild males and left her clutch on some beach to be eaten by tunnelsnakes. "Then we'll get you some experience in the matter. I don't think you could possibly get a flitt like Tianthe, but you never know." Tianthe chirped happily, taking that as a compliment. She was unique!
"Guess we'll have a bit of a wait there." Pity. Not only did it mean the girl couldn't get some experience with crazy fire-lizards quite yet, it meant Tirasha would have to deal with her again. Teodora could always try and convince a rider to bring her to a Hold, where there would surely be someone with eggs for sale, but the girl was probably too busy working. It was also plenty possible she didn't have the money for one too, and Tirasha wasn't sharing hers.

The excitement that had flared to life was now abruptly extinguished. Teodora was frustrated with herself for that, for getting hor hopes up. What was she expecting, that there would conviently be a little flit ready to be taken home?. Nearly everyday at the Weyr she had to remember that, just because she was a candidate, that did not mean a dragon would choose her.
Fortunately for Teodora, she was good at waiting. Her parents had refused to take her to the Weyr when she was nine, mainly because they wanted to keep their daughter around for a little while longer. Six years longer, to be precise. Those long years had been tough, but she had gained a great amount of patience because of it. So, waiting for a fire lizard would probably seem easy after that.
Teodora stated as much to Tirasha. "I have no qualms with waiting. Of course, it's not my favorite thing, but no use complaining about it." she smiled and shrugged. Shifting the small pile of debris she had picked up, Teodora thought of what chore or task she might be assigned next. "Well, I think I'll go find Kett next and see what else she has for me to do." She hestiated, then said, "would you like to come? Perhaps you could get consent from her, so maybe I can help you out if you'd like." So I can do something I like. she added privately.

Tirasha shrugged. “There’ll be flitters about sooner than dragons, I’m sure you won’t have to wait too long.” Usually there were constantly fire-lizard eggs about somewhere, some people sold them and some just gave them away since there were so many in the Weyr. Odd that there was a break, but there were plenty around, most didn’t worry about it.
Would she like to come? Come and see what chores the girl would get? Didn't sound particularly exciting. “I guess I could.” She had to get back to the infirmary before long, if Teodora didn’t get a chore there, then they would have to split up. Tirasha doubted the Candidate would mind that much though. “Don’t know how much I can help though, I’m not sure Kett likes me much.” She’d help the Greenrider deliver a baby, cared for Haith’s past Threadscores, but hadn’t earned any good points despite. The CandidateMaster didn’t like anyone but the queens (since they were the only things she couldn’t get after) being mean to her Candidates.
Tianthe, immediately catching on to the idea that they were going somewhere, took off again and whizzed ahead, pausing briefly only to chatter at the others to hurry up. Tirasha raised her eyebrows. “Looks like Tianthe’s eager, whatever we do.” Willow wrapped his tail loosely around Tirasha’s neck, an unnecessary sign that he had no plans to mimic his little sister. Holding still earned him an absent scratch as Tirasha reached up to fix her hair again.
((And since Franny's on vacation and can't play Kett... I guess you can just make up whatever happens. =P))

OOC: Oh, allright. I hope she doesn't mind, lol. The shorter the wait the better. Hopefully there would be free eggs being given, as Teodora was virtually coinless. Her parents might be willing to send some money, but, she didn't want to bother them with that. Teodora was determined to make a successful living on her own, the least she could do for two parents who had raised her well and with much love. Maybe too much love, she thought wryly, remembering again their stubborness about the Weyr. Somewhat surprised that Tirasha was agreeing to come, Teodora wasn't sure what to say. At the mention of Ketts dislike, she couldn't help but say, in her most sincere voice, "I can't imagine why." Then, adding quickly lest her snide remark be called out, "At any rate, no harm in trying." Turning about, she marched quickly back inside, her long braid bouncing from her long stride. Little Tianthe was probably the most adorable fire lizard Teodora had encountered. The greens excitement about things was endearing, but it only seemed to annoy Tirasha. Maybe the healer was having a bad day. Teodora almost snorted incredulously at the thought. She had a feeling this was the norm for the woman. The bronze was a bit more stoic, but that didn't diminish her opinion of him. The green probably had enough energy for the two of them. Now, where would Kett be? Perhaps the barracks where her charges lived. Taking a left, Teodora set the course. (OOC: I'm assuming there is an office for the candidate master in the barracks, if not, I can modify post. ) In due time, Teodora had reached Ketts office and stepped inside. At the back of the room was a large opening that allowed the candidate masters dragon to enter. Fortunately, both were present. "Ah, Teodora." Kett's eyes swiveled to Tirasha. "Tirasha." she said, her voice lacking any sort of emotion as she spoke the name. "Teodora, what is in your hands?" the master asked now, curiosity mixed with concern. Realizing she still held the branch and other bracken she had picked up from the Bowl, Teodora quickly deposited the bunch into the fire that blazed in a nearby hearth. She felt mortified to have forgotten that. "Sorry, master Kett. I was just tidying up the bowl when I met healer Tirasha." "I see." said Kett, although her voice said otherwise. Teodora assumed she probably thought the task as odd as Tirasha had. Well, shards, she hadn't felt like resting! And it was a nice day, so why not do something outside! There was a stirring of wind, and green Haith flew to the ledge of the opening, perching expertly. The dragon tilted her head to watch the candidate and healer. "So," said Kett, "Looking for anther task, I assume?" Teodora's head bobbed as she nodded. "Yes, well, I was wondering if perhaps I could work with Tirasha." she noticed a slight narrowing of Kett's eyes, but forged on, "you see, I would have been a healer myself if I hadn't decided to come to the Weyr. I was thinking if I could work in a trade I'm familiar with, I could have something to fall back on if... if I never impress a dragon." Kett was silent for a moment, reaching up absently to touch her securely braided hair. "Well, this is certainly a first." The candidate master looked to Tirasha skeptically. "Well, I suppose I have no qualms with it, if you, Tirasha, are willing."

((Nah =P If we were doing anything really important it would, but assigning a job is no problem.))
Tirasha couldn’t help but grin as Teodora spoke. This girl wasn’t nearly as bad as she first thought, although there was no helping that it was odd to find herself extra work during a break. “No, it’s hard to figure out.” Of course, there had been people that did somehow like Tirasha’s irritable attitude…
Willow let out a brief, breathy hiss, not about to let his keeper’s mind wander down that path further. Tirasha shook her head quickly. Teodora was still talking. “Usually not, anyways.” She had experience in getting harmed by trying things, or seeing it happen to others. Kett wasn’t going to bite their heads off though, nothing bad could happen from seeing her.
Tianthe was still flying impatiently ahead when they reached Kett’s office, although the Green turned around and settled on the rim of the hearth once everyone was present. Tirasha only nodded when Kett acknowledged her; this wasn’t her conversation and she had never been here before. May as well look around rather than talk.
It was hard not to notice Kett’s distaste when Teodora mentioned she wanted to work with Tirasha for a bit though, and Willow glowered at Kett. He didn’t like anyone who didn’t like His (although the same could very well be said for those who did like her). Tirasha scratched the Bronze’s back to calm him; Willow would never hurt anyone, but he was good at causing unnecessary bad feelings, and she didn’t need Kett disliking her more.
When the CandidateMaster actually spoke to her, rather than just giving her not-so-friendly glances, Tirasha jerked back to attention. “I think she’d follow me whether I said yes or no.” Teodora was still too much of a go-getter type person in Tirasha’s book. “But we could use a little extra help in the infirmary.” It was true- the rogue’s were gone, but the recent hatching had given them a few new people to deal with, and Nyocia had been a little short on Healers for a long time. The potential workers kept Impressing instead of working.
((I think I’m seeing the beginning of a long and beautiful friendship here~ *brick’d*))

It was hard not to roll her eyes at Tirasha. Follow wouldn't have been her choice of word, exactly. Maybe determined, or persistant. But follow? That seemed a little exagerated, thought Teodora. Still, she was ecstatic to be working again in Healing. Kett nodded and idly waved a hand.
"Allright, then. Teodora, you may do any extra work that Tirasha has in the infirmary." The CandidateMaster looked at Tirasha, her eyebrow raised in a stern manner. "And if I hear you've been treating my Candidate unfarily or unjustly, you can be sure Haith and I will be paying you a visit." The green on the ledge chirped in agreement. "You can begin now, if you like." Kett said to Teodora before waving a hand dismissively.
Eager to begin whatever Tirasha had in store for her, Teodora bowed respectively to Kett. "Thank you, Master Kett," she said, voice brimming with constrained excitement. In the back of her mind, she wondered absently how many people would be as excited as she to be going to the Infirmary.
Inclining her head once more to Kett, Teodora took her leave of the office. Outside, she stood beside the door and waited for Tirasha and her flitts. To keep from fidgeting, Teodora clasped her hands together behind her back, waiting expectantly.
OOC: haha. Indeed.

Tirasha shifted restlessly while Kett threatened her, having lost interest in waiting on the CandidateMaster as soon as she had said what they needed to hear- Teodora was good to go. Why did they have to wait? Who cared how she treated the Candidates, if they were asking to work with her it was their problem, not hers. Willow appeared just as anxious, but he always reflected Tirasha's feelings in some manner.
Finally. Tirasha only barely restrained her sigh of relief as Kett dismissed them, and she promptly turned and headed out after Teodora. Tianthe lingered an extra moment, watching the things the Candidate had tossed into the fire in fascination, but took off after her friends when she felt Kett's gaze fall on her. The Greenrider practically had less good feelings towards the little fire-lizard than she did Tirasha.
"Well, that was dull." Tirasha glanced over Teodora. "You look way too excited about it all though." What was wrong with this girl? Willow shook his head a little, also a bit taken aback by her enthusiasm. It was like Tianthe in human form, although with a bit more wit.
As if to finish up that image, Tianthe settled on Teodora's head instead of Tirasha's. She was ready, off to the infirmary!

Dull would not have been the category Teodora chose for the recent change in her schedule. But she held her tongue and was about to ask Tirasha what exactly the healer wanted her to be doing when Tiangthe landed upon her head. Her small claws loosened a few strands of mahogony hair, but she found if funny. Although, the extra weight pressing down on her neck wasn't exactly comfortable.
Reaching up, Teodora stroked Tianthe's green neck gently, reveling in the smooth scales. Unable to contain her mirth, she let slip a bubble of laughter. How amusing she must look with the fire lizard perched upon her head! "You're certainly not shy," she said exclusively to Tianthe. Then to Tirasha, she said, "Now that Tianthe's comfortable, I suppose we can begin?"
Teodora waited for Tirasha to lead the way to the Infirmary. Of course, she knew the way that sector of the Weyr, but she would have felt odd walking in the lead. It didn't seem her place in this instance. Also, she wasn't entirely sure what Tirasha was going to assign her.

Tianthe gurgled as Teodora patted her, while Tirasha ((lotsa 'T' names, wow o.O)) rolled her eyes and Willow snorted. Of the many things the Bronze didn’t approve of, paying attention to people other than His was high on his list of the worst. How he had ended up with such a disloyal little sister was explainable though- she was a Green. Not that anyone paid much attention to the things he figured out though, especially easy ones like that.
“I wouldn’t say she’s comfortable.” Tirasha arched her eyebrows. Tianthe didn’t particularly like curling up on people’s scalps, she just liked the vantage point it gave her- not that perching atop Tirasha’s diminutive form gave her much of one. Teodora was better, probably why her head had been chosen. “But we can start.”
The infirmary, as of late, was a flower bedecked room. Vases with overflowing bouquets rested on many of the tables, the arrangements a surprisingly tasteful mix of blossoms, grasses, and leafy twigs. Ever since V’ire and Kiyo had gotten her started, Tianthe had made a powerful habit of bringing back plants from all over and doing this- with a little help from humans in the area of vases and water. Since the better aroma of the flowers and the generally brighter mood they brought about seemed to help patients, no one was doing anything to stop the little Green.
Tirasha could care less as long as Tianthe kept her obsession out of her personal chambers. But for now she pointedly ignored the bouquets as they entered the infirmary, hoping that Teodora wouldn’t discover that it was Tirasha’s insane fire-lizard who was doing it all. Could a carnivore (no matter how small and cute) possibly come up with a more sissy habit than flower arranging?
“If you could change the bandages of that boy over there,” Tirasha pointed towards a Candidate who had been hurt by one of the dragonets while standing at the recent hatching, “that would help. He has some pretty nasty burns on his back from the sand, don’t mess with those, but I’d like to see how those gashes on his shoulder and chest are coming.” ((NPC, do whatever you like with him. =P I shall name him Ferenc… and since Teodora’s been here a while already, she’s welcome to already know him, but that’s up to you.))
“He’s had a little inflammation on his shoulder,” Tirasha added, “although I think everything else is healing up alright.” She smiled at Ferenc. “Teodora’s going to help you out for a bit, I’ll be over to check on your shoulder soon.” Her gaze returned to Teodora. “I’ve got to talk to someone, I’ll be back in a minute. You can handle this, I hope?” It wasn’t like changing bandages was at all hard, anyway. Teodora had Tianthe to watch her too- the Green was smart enough to come to Tirasha if she noticed any trouble.
Meanwhile, Tianthe took off from Teodora’s head and settled next to Ferenc on his cot. By unspoken command, Willow flew off of Tirasha’s shoulder, and while the Healer headed for another room he fetched some bandages. After dropping them on the cot, Willow flicked between back to Tirasha.

OOC: Allright, will do.
Upon stepping into the infirmary, Teodora was met with a sweet aroma, the source of which soon became apparent. Spotting the many vases brimming with blossoms and other appealing fauna, she lifted a curious eyebrow. Who would have thought Tirasha the flower type? Although, there were other healers roaming about. Perhaps another had bestowed the flowers in the infirmary.
Keeping apace with Tirasha, she was amused at the healer's shorter height. She had not noticed it before, but walking abreast with her seemed to bring it out. Following Tirasha's pointing finger, Teodora recognized the boy, a fellow candidate. He was foolish for not stepping away from the dragonet when it approached on it's clumsy new legs. Injuries had been realitvely low in hatchings, the touching of eggs usually helping to stopper any fear of the hatchlings that candidates might harbor. Maybe next time Ferenc would act a bit more hastily.
Teodora nodded to Tirasha. Swapping bandages was a simple enough task, usually. The pressure of Tiranthe's green body lifted off her head, and the amiable fire lizard alighted near Ferenc. Hearing her approach, the boy opened up his eyes to see who it was. Recognition glinted in his dark eyes. "Teodora? Did Kett assign you to the infirmary?" Taking a seat on the edge of the cot, Teodora took the fresh bandages in hand and smiled happily.
"No, I asked to be." Ferenc appeared confused by this, but said nothing. Teodora ignored the urge to sigh. "Anyways, let's have a look at those gashes." Ferenc did sigh as he sat upright, wincing as the action pulled on his torn skin. He wore a loose tunic which Teodora helped him remove. The current bandages had darkened with old blood. Ferenc winced again as Teodora began unwrapping the soiled bandages around his chest. "Beginning to hurt, again?" she asked. He nodded, watching her work. "Well, nothing a little numbweed can't ease." Looking about, she found some of the stuff close at hand and pulled it over to her. The last of the wrapping undone, the gash on his chest was revealed, long and deep. Fortunately the stitches still seemed to be in place and holding. Teodora began carefully slathering the injury with numbweed, cooling the burn of the wound. "Well, you'll have a scar, there's no way around it. But at least you got it doing something interesting." She said, trying to reassure Ferenc.
"I guess." said the boy, skeptical. "That feels better." he said next, gesturing at the numbweed. Teodora smiled knowingly. Finished with that, she carefully began winding the clean bandages around his chest. "Can I have some of that for my shoulder?" Ferenc asked hopefully.
"Yes, of course. Let's take a look first." Uncoiling the shoulder wrappings, Teodora narrowed her eyes in symapthy for the boy. This wound was double that to the one on his chest. The skin here had also been stitched, but the flesh around the crosswork was swollen and red. "You're lucky to still have an arm." she commented, prodding gently at the swollen flesh to discern whether it was firm or not.
"Shards, Teodora, what're you doing that for!" Yelped Ferenc. Teodora eyed him sternly.
"Hold still. I'm just checking to see if there's any access fluid that needs to be drained." He fell silent, grumbling under his breath. "Well, I'm not an expert, yet, but I'd say that the swelling is of the average variety. As long as we keep fresh bandages around it and make sure the area's clean, it will eventually heal." Ferenc looked relieved. "But let's see what the expert has to say." Added Teodora, scanning the area for Tirasha. Looking to Tianthe, she said to the litte green, "Tianthe, if you want to let your human know, Ferenc's shoulder is ready to be reviewed." Dipping into the numbweed, she slathered it onto the wound.

Tirasha was already headed back towards Teodora and Ferenc when Tianthe fluttered over to her, chirping as though she was carrying a message of great consequence. “It’s not as important a mission if I’m already practically back,” she told the fire-lizard dryly. The little Green paid no mind to her keeper though, and settled cheerfully on Tirasha’s unoccupied shoulder.
As she reached Teodora and Ferenc, Tirasha inspected the girl’s work with a disdainful eye, not expecting anything praiseworthy. “You know it’s easier to deal with wounds that aren’t covered in numbweed.” Unless an injury was extremely dire, the pasty substance came last, and Tirasha would have liked to check the shoulder herself without having to oil her hands to avoid getting numbed herself.
“Did you check his shoulder before putting it on, at least?” Tianthe was able to prove herself useful there, happily sharing her memory of Teodora inspecting Ferenc’s shoulder with Tirasha. The Healer closed her eyes for a moment, always able to focus better on shared images that way. “I guess it doesn’t seem like there’s much to do about it right now.” She hadn’t expected there to be anyways.
With the shoulder dealt with- in a manner- Tirasha stepped forward to finish up the bandaging. “It looks like your shoulder’s healing up nicely,” she said to Ferenc as she worked, “it shouldn’t be too much longer before you’re good as new, hm?” On Tirasha’s thin face, smiles were never particularly comforting, but she did her best anyways. She tucked the end of the bandage into some earlier wraps and stepped back to inspect her and Teodora’s handiwork. “Looks good to me, you can go. But be back around this time tomorrow.”
The Candidate hopped off his cot, muttered a thank you, smiled at Teodora, and hurried out of the infirmary, probably headed for the kitchens. Tirasha absently reached up to stroke Willow, taking a moment to look around again at the flowers all over the infirmary and smiling despite herself, then seemed to catch herself and returned her attention to Teodora.
“We’re really not that busy right now, although you can bet with the recent hatching that we’ll have weyrlings coming in complaining about dragonets with dry skin or some such thing before too long. But I do have some inventory to do, if you’ll help out with that.” Inventory was among Tirasha’s least favorite duties, she being not the best when it came to numbers; it would be nice to turn it over to the Candidate.
