Despite being warm, and the odd sensation of not being alone, Beka wasn't overly keen to wake up any time soon. It was the feeling of being... Well not alone. She'd never had that sensation with Mermaiyeth or Valiant... Or Chewy for that matter. All her bondeds and pets were just... A part of her, she didn't notice them as being others but she did notice when they weren't there. On top of that, Beka did not want to wake up, she had a sneaking suspicion that whatever was waiting wasn't going to be a pleasant meeting.
Sulking won't help. Calm as ever, Mermaiyeth didn't even have the decency to sound tired or ashamed, she was rather proud of herself, snuggled against Jerglith who she had marked as Hers. She wasn't an overly possessive creature by all standards, but Mermaiyeth was firm about not sharing her mate now, he'd been her friend and was now her mate. Still, not even Mermaiyeth's voice made Beka want to open her eyes, because that brought back memories of the stupid flight and the terror. The males, watching, hoping, desiring. Beka still held desire as a fearful emotion, even though she'd felt it herself, completely out of control and yes she was scared of opening her eyes.
I highly doubt Jerglith's would push you into anything. Mermaiyeth's voice now held a note of annoyance at her rider's continued attempt to ignore her. Beka didn't want Aleyi to want anything from her, because she couldn't give it. She couldn't give her love or affection, she didn't know how. And what if her friend hated her for that? What if... Squeezing her eyes tighter, Beka didn't mentally respond to Mermaiyeth, only opening her eyes after a long moment. What if she just dissapointed Aleyi, would she understand why Beka couldn't stand to be touched normally? D'mas did, because she'd panicked when he'd grabbed her, but she hadn't told him anything.
"I... um, morning." If Aleyi even heard Beka mumble the greeting, it would be a feat indeed, for the barred rider then flinched slightly, expecting a tirade of expectations, and Faranth only knew what else to rain down on her, closing her eyes again. Morning, Jerglithlove. You flew well, and you are warm. The barred's voice held no hint of annoyance at her rider now, only warm and affectionate as she turned her head to lightly nuzzle his shoulder in a morning greeting.

Aleyi was still only halfway awake, still hovering on the edges of dream and reality and wondering what it was that felt so different about this morning, when she felt someone by her flinch.
So that was it, even if she had little idea currently of who it was, or why they were there. She opened her eyes to see Beka shutting hers tight, and frowned slightly, unsure of what to think of this change of events. She had been half expecting Brookelev in her still sleep-groggy mind, even though she hadn’t seen her in several Turns now. Beka… what was- where was she? The realization that she wasn’t even in Jerglith’s weyr hit Aleyi unexpectedly, and she moved her confused gaze from her friend to everything else present.
Morning, my Mermaiyeth. Jerglith’s voice reached Aleyi as well as his new mate’s, and with it a rush of random pleasure at the alliteration. Aleyi seemed to shrink as she watched her dragon nuzzle Mermaiyeth’s cheek, his voice and just seeing him and the Barred there bringing back a rush of recent, although somewhat blurry, memories. Her discomfort had little to do with Aleyi herself, but she was worried about what Beka would think of everything, something that, already, wasn’t looking too bright.
Still, letting Beka see that Aleyi felt at all awkward surely wouldn’t be any help at all. Jerglith and Mermaiyeth looked happy anyways, and so was Aleyi, she was just a little worried too. “Morning Beka,” she smiled at her friend. “How’re you feeling?”
((I think I've temporarily lost my brain for Jerglith D:))

How was she feeling? Beka wasn't sure, she wasn't good at working out things like that. Yet, she had to reply, she couldn't exactly leave Aleyi wondering why Beka wasn't answering. It wasn't even anything to do with her, it was teh fear of trusting another person to the extent that she may have to, fear of dissapointing her friend. "I..." Which was better, the truth? Or a sugared version? She was physically fine, physically tired, but not in any pain. Mentally? Emotionally?
"I'm okay." Okay was good, okay made sense. She wasn't fine, she wasn't good, but she wasn't spiralling into panic mode as she buried deeper into the blankets. Yes, a part of her was completely ashamed of the scars, and certainly didn't want Aleyi seeing them, while another part of her simply craved the protection the furs offered in an attempt to find some sebelance of calm. Mermaiyeth wasn't any help, she gave her confidence, but didn't suppy the words to make the situation diffuse. "I don't really know what to say... But... I don't want you to go. I really don't."
I do hope you're not planning to run off anytime soon, my Jerglith. Mermaiyeth crooned, curling herself closer to him to try and draw on any warmth he might offer. She was used to sharing her couch, usually with her rider, but having a mate there made it even better. And Jerglith was her mate.

Aleyi waited quietly while Beka hesitating, wondering if that had been the wrong question to ask. How would she be after a Flight? This was practically the first for both of them- Jerglith may have chased before, but Mermaiyeth was his first catch. Aleyi herself was happy, if a little uncertain, but wouldn’t anyone be if they suddenly found themselves waking up in someone’s bed, their dragon wrapped very firmly around someone else’s (supposing they had a dragon, anyways)? It was sudden, and a little odd.
But eventually Beka did answer, and ‘okay’ was perfectly acceptable to Aleyi. “Well, I’m feeling good.” She stretched, as shameless about her body as Beka seemed to be nervous about hers. What was she doing burying herself in the blankets anyways? Aleyi was pretty sure Beka wasn’t some sort of hideous monster, but thought better of asking about it just then.
She smiled as Beka spoke again, feeling surprising relief at the fact that she wasn’t wanted gone. “You’ve never quite had a way with words.” Aleyi laughed a little, joking, although with how much Beka hesitated when she talked, it seemed true too. “And I’m not going anywhere, don’t worry. Jerglith isn’t either, so it’s not like I would even have a choice if I wanted it.” She glanced at the Blue, and couldn’t help but wonder if it was remotely possible for him and Mermaiyeth to snuggle any closer together. She wished a little that she could be that comfortable with Beka. The Barredrider was her friend though, and much as Aleyi did like her, she wasn’t one to force things. It was probably better that she did what she could to make this abrupt change somehow gradual.
Jerglith crooned softly. I can’t imagine ever having a reason to. At least for the moment, that was completely true. Why had he spent so much of his life not snuggling up against females? The fact that the female was Mermaiyeth added a lot to his elation. He worked to stretch a little further and curl a little more around the Barred, although considering that he was only a tad bigger than her -although Mermaiyeth was making things a little easier in all her nestling against him- there wasn’t a lot of hope in that situation. As little a difference as it made physically was as little as it did mentally though; Jerglith wasn’t going anywhere.

Aleyi's response wasn't nearly as hesitent as Beka's had been, and she paused, wondering where she could go with the conversation now, she'd never really been good at talking and this situationw asn't the most comfortable one she'd ever been in. Secretly, she wanted it never to have happened, but at the same time, she hated the fact that she was glad Jerglith had won, and not either of the other two. If waking up to sharing her space with Aleyi had been shocking for her, she could only imagine the trouble she would have had clamping down on panic if it had been one of the others - who she didn't know.
"No, I haven't. Have I?" Considering her reading skills were still only mediocre, Beka didn't feel that bad about her speaking skills. As long as she could communicate what she had to, she thought she was doing rather well. She was glad though, that her unease with situations wasn't making Aleyi want to leave, she liked her friend, she just wasn't sure how she liked her. Glancing up at her dragon, Beka was sorely tempted to give her a good glare in return for the smug look on the barred's face. If she could be anymore smug, her ego wouldn't fit inside the weyr.
Good. THere was a heady amount of pleasure in that one word as Mermaiyeth settled her head down again. The fact that Jerglith didn't dwarf her was something Mermaiyeth was pleased about, she didn't like being considered small, which she wasn't, and having a mate that was just big enough for her to snuggle into was pleasing for the barred. Is yours well? I am sure Mine would ask, but her mind seems to have forgotten how to make conversation.

“That was better.” Aleyi laughed. All it took was not hesitating, although this probably wasn’t the best situation for teaching that. She followed Beka’s gaze towards the dragons again, wondering absently how many times she would switch between looking at each.
“You know, when Jerglith lost in Holleth’s Flight, I was kind of happy since it gave him a blow to his ego, and he’d been getting pretty heady.” Now she was just talking because Beka wasn’t, and Aleyi wasn’t in the mood for awkward silences. “Hopefully he won’t get back up there again now.” She laughed. Jerglith gave her an irritated look. He had a mate now, Aleyi didn’t need to go embarrassing him in front of her.
Mine is very well. Mermaiyeth had picked an inopportune moment to ask, since Aleyi’s comment was half making the Blue wish she wasn’t. And it appears that even if Yours can’t remember how to make conversation, Mine will make up for it. He rumbled. Aleyi could chatter as much as a Green fire-lizard if given the chance, not something Jerglith usually minded since he liked talking too. Thinking of flitters, where was Aleyi’s threesome? It was very unlike them to give her a moment alone- not that Jerglith minded that either, since he still wasn’t particularly fond of Brooke.
