T'mar had a little, itty, bitty problem.
Flower was not in the barracks. Now he was hunting for the Kagen. Trouble, no help at all, sat on his shoulder, occasionally making chittering noises..right in the greenrider's ear.
"Trouble, for Faranth's sake, I can't hear my...there you are."
The Kagen churred as her owner approached. She was just weeding the bowl! Munch, munch. This, whatever it was, tasted good...it seemed to be some kind of herb. Escaped from the kitchen guardens perhaps.
Shaking his head, T'mar moved over to pick her up. She squirmed. "Don't wander so far off, okay?"

From up above the green Weyrling came a curious twitter. A small brown something swooshed in front of the young man and zoomed back up into the air, chirping inquisitively all the while. The sudden movement came to a sudden stop in front of the T'mar. An interestingly patterned firelizard hovered before him and was staring quite intently at the furry little creature in his hands. It looked remarkably like a certain other little animal that he had gotten quite used to.
"Meatroll!" Came a rather sharp rebuke from halfway across the bowl. Coming sprinting towards her fellow Weyrling. She recognized him immediately as the only male in her Weyrling class to Impress to a green.
His name is T'mar, remember. Freyjath is his green, The familiar and loving voice that belong to Voluspath reminded her. Bry had to tuck away a small smile; Meatroll's curiosity was bordering on rudeness, after all.
"Meatroll!" Brylorea insisted as the flit dared to inch just a bit closer to the kagen in T'mar's hand. "Leave him alone, will you? I've got Pokey. Isn't she enough?"
The flit, scolded enough, chattered unhappily at his lifemate and winked between, leaving Brylorea to sigh and shake her head.
"Sorry if he was bothering you. He acts like he's never seen another kagen in his life."

Trouble chittered something unintelligible at the air where Meatroll had been.
"He's almost as silly as mine," T'mar noted, running a hand through Flower's fur. He did not know Bry well....they had a lot of different lessons and he had frankly had little chance to really get to know the young queenrider.
"Aren't they from the same clutch, though?" Which would explain it. He could blame the dam for all of it. The bronze snorted at him, but didn't move from her shoulder for now. "And Flower seems to be a she." He'd presumably find out sooner or later.
He bet people would want babies if there were any. Kagen were, well. Cuteness incarnate.

Smiling, Brylorea's gaze flickered towards the bronze, both sizing him up and considering. He was right, she believed; they had both attended the same flitter Hatching and, though she couldn't quite remember the details, was sure they must have Impressed. Trouble, was it?, seemed like an adorable little bronze, although she supposed he wouldn't be so named if it wasn't entirely true.
"Silliness in escrow is what we agreed to when we attended that Hatching," Brylorea laughed in agreement. Possibly at the bronze's calling, Meatroll appeared in the space he had vacated and landed gracefully on Brylorea's shoulder. Reaching up, she patted the little lizard, smiling.
Her gaze turned to the kagen in his hands, pondering it. Seeing the small, furry little creature for the first time since they were originally found in Kora's weyr, the gold Weyrling was able to note how large it had grown. It was still quite smaller than her own Pokey, though it appeared to be as mature as her own kagen.
"A she? I still haven't quite figured out Pokey. I'm sure I will in a hurry once the little one tries to get a mate," Brylorea said, thinking fondly of the little fur ball that she'd left curled in her second dresser drawer.
"You reckon they're just about old enough to...well, you know?"

T'mar hrmed. "Probably close. Then we'll know for sure. And at least we'll find homes for any babies. They're absolutely cute."
The kagen squirmed a little, but then sort of nuzzled against him. He was, after all, warm.
Trouble looked, right now, as innocent as a bronze firelizard could possibly look. "I think Flower's fully grown now, although she seems to be the smallest. Maybe they have size variance like the draconics. Or maybe she's just the runt of the litter."
Not that there was anything bad with being small. No greenrider could think that way!
