Freyjath was in the lake, resting in the shallows. The lime green dragon's attention was mostly on the shore, where her rider sat with Blossom in his lap.
"I need more friends," he informed dragon and kagen. And one day, he hoped, a weyrmate. There had to be a bluerider of the right persuasion who was compatible with him. Not R'mer...he found the man unattractive at best.
But somebody. Freyjath would rise, and...well. That was part of being a greenrider. Not the best part, though.
The best part was having such an agile dragon. But that did not make up for the fact that he was, right now, a little lonely. He loved Freyjath, always would, but she was little substitute for human company.
And Blossom might be cute, but...

Just then a barred flit zipped past the rider sat on the shore of the lake, and dove below the water. Then a red and black dragon barreled past, coming close to knocking the rider over, alhough luckily not doing so. It was closely followed by a brown flit, that chattered angrily, how dare the dragon chase his fellow flit. The trio of draconic creatures were followed by a young man, that kept stumbling in his attempt to catch up.
"Claudiuth, how many times have I told you? Tawny and Amethyst are not to be eaten." He called in an exasperated tone as he came to a stop beside the rider, leaning over to catch his breath. R'kah then noticed the man and shook his head with a wry smile.
"Sorry, Claudiuth doesn't like anyone other then me, not even my two fire lizards. I have a hard time keeping him from causing them harm." He explained, in case the rider wondered why the dragon had been chasing the flit.

Freyjath lifted her head, but said nothing to the charcoal...although the shift in color of her eyes might well have spoken volumes.
"I hear that charcoals can be a bit difficult," the green weyrling responded. He also scooped an arm around Blossom. Like as not a dragon that would try to eat a firelizard would also try to munch on a kagen.
Blossom squeaked. "No, stay put. That dragon might mistake you for a snack, Blossom."
Freyjath began to pull her milk-green self out of the water...one of the smaller greens she would be, even when fully grown.
T'mar thought that a charcoal rider...of the right persuasion...might work as well as a bluerider. But...he wasn't sure he'd want to share his weyr with that dragon!

"Nelth I told you that I don't want to. Can't you just give me a brake one of these days." The blue rider complained as he was carried along by his dragon in the usal method that blue had used sinice he was big egough to do so. Though the only expection was that And'l had his green flit Leaf clucthed in his arms as he was carryed along this time.
The answer form the blue was the same one that was always given, You will realize that it is for your own good one day. Though whenever that is, I am not sure. So until then I will just have to carry you out of your weyr. Unless you want to quit acting like a shy little weyrling and actully leave it yourself for once. The blue as he usally did was exaggerating. And'l did leave his weyr when he needed to, but the blue wanted his rider to leave it when he didn't need to, such as just to have fun or at least mingle with the other riders on a day to day bases.
When they reached the lake and Nelth spotted the other two riders and there dragons that were near he dropped his rider onto the sand rather uncerominosly. The sudden nature of the dropped startled the green flit, causing her to fly out of And'l's arms and sqawk at the blue in a scolding manner, before returning to her perch on her pet's shoulders. And'l stood up and brushed the sand off himself and gave Nelth a look that said, 'you did that on purpose'. Though he found himself being nugded forward again by his dragon and he realized why when he saw the other riders. One he reconized as the Charcol rider he had spoken with before, but the other he did not know. Yet the familer face made him feel better.
The trio walked towards the group, as And'l's bronze flit Topaz appered and landed on the shoulder oppisate Leaf. Nelth stayed close behind his rider and nugded him every now and then to keep And'l going. The blue was not letting his rider run away form this one. When And'l was near egough that he could be heard by the other two, the only thing that he said was a very nervous, "Hello." Though Nelth's greeting to the green was certianly not one that was nervous, Hello my name is Nelth. My I ask what is your name, beatiful green. The large blue normally did not flirt when And'l was around, but today was not one of those days, and therefore he did so quite shamelessly in his greeting.

"Difficult? You don't know the have of it." R'kah replied though he tone held affection for his dragon as well as exasperation. His gaze was drawn to the creature on the man's lap and his eyes widened. "Indeed, best keep her safe." The her was said in a questioning tone, obviously the charcoal weyrling was asking if it was a female.
Claudiuth's gaze was drawn to the green as she made to move out of the water and his head abruptly broke the surface from where he had been watching the barred flit. A growl rumbled in his chest and worked it's way into his throat, his eyes whirling with disdain. "Oh hush Claudiuth. Leave her be." R'kah scolded, casting an apologetic look to T'mar, then his attention was drawn behind him. He turned and spotted the bluerider he had met before and he smiled slightly.
Although he strictly liked females, the bluerider was a fine specimen of male, to him anyway, not to say that T'mar wasn't but there were the age differences between the three. "Hello And'l. It's good to see you again. This is....um. I didn't get your name." The second part was directed to T'mar, a frown creasing R'kah's forehead.

"T'mar," the greenrider supplied. The bluerider got a look, but he was inwardly dismissed. Too old. "And Blossom is a female, yes. We're calling her color 'peach' for obvious reasons."
"And that green out there is Freyjath." Who wasn't saying anything to either male dragon. She seemed to have suddenly become rather shy. Although she did give Nelth a rather coy look. She was not quite old enough to rise for the first time, but she was getting close.
Well, she was a quiet dragon by nature. He would not worry about it. Instead, he moved closer to the edge of the water, and to her. "You should talk to the blue, Freyjath. He won't bite you."
The green just poked her head out far enough to nuzzle him, but if dragons spoke with tongues, a feline had hers, right now.

Nelth nuzzled the green back, the thought crossing the blue's mind that the green was acting just like his rider came to mind and so he spoke to her in the soft manner he always did with And'l, You don't have to be too shy to talk to me Freyjath. His voice was more friendly this time then flirtous. He did move closer in her direction though his real reason was to give And'l space, and to push his rider out on his own abit.
And'l scrambled in his mind to find somthing if anything to say, and then a chirp in his ear gave him somthing and he said "The little bueaty here is Leaf and this is Topaz." Leaf seemed to be showing off when she was called that, and even Topaz seemed to puff up abit at the idea that he had a beatiful weyrmate, "It is nice to meet you T'mar." It was obvious that the bluerider was becoming alittle unerved, but all one had to do was follow the direction that his eye's where looking to figure out the reason. Which was towards Nelth and Freyjath. And'l did not really did not like it when Nelth chased, and even more so hated the idea of Nelth getting focused on a green whose rider he did not have any interst in. This greenrider was too young for his taste. So in the bluerider's mind, Nelth winning the flight would produce very bad and unwanted results.
Nelth please stop doing that. The blue looked back at his rider as though he had been caught doing somthing bad and said, Doing what And'l?, the bluerider repiled You know what you are doing, please stop. There seemed to be a hint of fear in his voice, though only Nelth heard it. The blue seemed to let out a sigh and shook his head and returned next to And'l and curled around him saying, You can't put it off forever. The blue had been giving serious thought to just cacthing a green, wethier And'l liked it or not. Which was why at this moment even though he was curled around And'l, his eye's where still focused on Freyjath.
