Tinth banked in a cycle above the Weyr bowl. At the moment, there was no rider on the blue's back.
He was stretching his wings solo, and there was no sign of R'mer. Most dragons tended to spend much of the day sunning, but apparently Tinth had decided it was too nice a day for flying.
He changed course again, practicing maneuvers...without having to worry about, say, his rider falling off. That was not a bad thing to do, the blue thought. Of course, he loved R'mer, he could not *be* without R'mer.
But sometimes, he liked to be on his own, while the young man hung out with his friends.
Of course, if a pretty green joined him, that would definitely make his life complete.

Amirinth was always happy to fill the void that surely opened in every male's life when there wasn't a female- her especially- around to entertain them. Seeing Tinth flying about all alone just struck a string in her oh-so-loving heart, and without any explanation to her rider, Amirinth leapt off her ledge and flew over to the blue.
Practicing to catch a pretty green? Amirinth rumbled and drifted out a bit beneath him. It was a survey with only one possible answer she was sure, probably as rhetorical as rhetorical questions came. But Tinth was a friend of hers, and R'mer a friend of her rider's. She had to tease the larger dragon a bit.
Or, perhaps, are you just hoping they are watching and will be impressed by it all and thus give you a better chance in their flights? Technically, in Amirith's opinion, that was still practicing to catch greens... but of course there were multiple ways to go about it. The latter of her questions wouldn't get her, surely, but others might be seduced by the possibilities.
It almost made her appreciate being so senior to most of the Weyr's dragons; observing all the younger generations grow up was so much more enjoyable for it.

Only if the green is as pretty as you
His rider was not sure about him flying Amirinth because she was so much older, but Tinth could not, at all, deny that she was one of the prettiest greens in the Weyr. Besides, flattery would not hurt...even though she would likely not remember it come her next flight. He sideslipped, dropping down a bit towards her level.
He no longer flew at all like an awkward weyrling...although not nearly as graceful as the older, and considerably smaller, green. And she *was* pretty...he wasn't just saying it.
Actually, he kind of was in the mood to chase a green, if one would oblige him...much to his rider's disgust.

Amirinth rumbled, pleased with the compliment. Amirinth has been wondering lately though... are males with tricks or with wit more worth her time? As of recently, she was starting to wonder if she had seen everything the blues, browns, and bronzes of Pern were willing to attempt physically. Wouldn't it be more fun to give them a mental challenge as well?
She could do with a change of intrique too, life at Nyocia was becoming far too relaxed for Amirinth's taste.
Of course, your flying has improved so much; it seems a pity to waste all your effort and suddenly turn the tables of the Flight. Amirinth drifted a little closer to Tinth, eyes whirling teasingly. With age came grace, her blue friend was a good example of it. Not that he would ever compare with her, and perhaps one or two other dragons too, but Tinth had grown into an impressive beast.
K'laon wouldn't like this train of thought at all, although the thought only made Amirinth a little more eager to admire.

R'mer wouldn't. K'laon, far too old for him. If not bad looking. However, right now, the riders were not in the equation. Tinth rose higher, showing his form off to the green. Whatever you ask of me, lovely Amirinth, I will attempt
Flirt. And I have been practicing
He definitely had. And his rider, too, had far more grace than the overweight Candidate who had stood on the Sands a lifetime ago. R'mer might never be the most handsome rider in the Weyr, but he was certainly not ugly, not any more.
The dragon, though, remained the more attractive of the two.
