It had seemed so long since she had hatched and grown. Cerri was thinking just that as she looked at the form of her passed out barred. She had been watching the female for weeks now. Watching the shift in her hide. It had happened a few times before, but the young woman had prevented her Barred, at least so she had thought. Now she was worried because the dragon had been sleeping all day.
As Cerri had gone about her day, Venuth has rested. Now she realized that something was slipping through her, stronger then ever. She couldn't fight it, at all. The pleasure burst through her as she realized Venuth had awakened. A spark of violet starting in the Barred's eyes, as the dragoness' eyes went completely purple. She gave a bugle, leaping from her ledge and heading to the feeding areas.
Landing in a crouched position, the slim barred took no time at all to snatch up a prey. Guzzling it's warm gushing blood. She was too hungry to care about innards, she wanted hot warm salty blood. Pumping into her, and filling her with energy. She was going to prove to them all. All of those that had dissaproved, said she couldn't rise. Called her a dud of a dragon! SHE COULD RISE TOO!
If you have the courage, if you DARE! Come chase me. If you think yourself male enough to take me! She hissed in annoyance. These males would have to win a beauty such as her! She would make them work for it.

Well, it happened.
J'reth looked up from his careful repair of a boot in curiosity. His bronze's mental voice had an odd quality to it, one he hadn't heard before from the big dragon. He set the work down, and exited his weyr out the back to the area Labyrinth was supposedly lounging in the heat.
"What happened?" he inquired, his tone mild. He knew better than to hope that Cerridwen's little barred Venuth was Flying - it had been a full Turn since she had matured, and the weyr was starting to consider the vivacious female a dud, a dead-end. Infertile. There was no way he could reclaimed his Pet through Flight now.
You'll never guess.
Labyrinth wasn't on his couch, which probably should have been his first clue. The second clue should have been the fact that arousal was slowly pulsing through his lean body, fueled by dragon lust. Labyrinth knew better than to claim a female not Venuth, mostly because J'reth had no desire to be weyrmated to any other female. So he should have had an idea about the content of Labyrinth's announcement.
Venuth Flies! the big bronze trumpeted. J'reth didn't have time to register the impossibility of the 'Nyocia Dud' actually leading a mating flight before his feet were carrying him to the weyr Cerri had claimed as her own. Excitement ran quickly through his veins, accompanied by desire, love, and the relief that comes from being rewarded after a long wait.
J'reth's entrance wasn't as hurried as he felt it had to be, mostly because he still had an image to maintain, even in front of the woman of his dreams. He entered the weyr, and closed to door behind him before leaning up against the wall with one foot kicked up on the other in a nonchalant slouch.
"Hello, Pet."
Labyrinth's left wing had finally healed from his nasty bout with lightning in his bid to become Weyrleader, and held him as steadily as it had before the incident. He used it now, powerfully stroking his way through the air to meet with the barred beauty whose rider had so captured His rider's attention.
Beautiful day for a flight, Gorgeous, he teased lightly, flapping close enough to make his presence known but not crowding.
Do your worst.

I think I am going to chase a female now Tinth sent, rather casually, before launching from his ledge.
Cad, R'mer informed him, starting to make his way towards the various passages linking the weyrs. Which one do you have your eye on this time?
Venuth
Huh. I thought there might be...oh great. You HAVE to pick the female riders
She's very pretty
The blue still seemed distinctly casual about the entire thing. His wings lifted him upwards in the barred's wake. R'mer, not at all happy about this, and not yet overtaken by lust, made his way slowly towards Cerridwen's weyr.
Not only did she have the wrong plumbing to be satisfying for the young bluerider to bed, but she was also weyrmated, or so rumor had it. Well, at least R'mer would not be a threat to any weyrmate...if he did win the flight he planned on being out of there by morning, leaving only a note for the poor barred rider.
She should choose somebody who enjoyed women, he thought...but then a wave of desire came over him as he reached the...closed door of the weyr. He hesitated, but dragonlust took over again, and there was little conscious thought involved as he started to pull it open...

A loud roar split through the Weyr, threatening to deafen anyone too close. Brown Aresth stood strong and proud on his ledge, his magnified voice answering to the barred's challenge. Venuth had always been pretty, ever since they first hatched from their eggs. Such a lovely color and her violet markings not unlike the light brown streaks that ran down his back. None of these males had ever appriciated her like he had! He would should these older males what he was made of!
Lovely Venuth, when have I ever backed down from a challenge? Fly well, my beauty, and with that he threw himself from his ledge and streaked across the weyr where Labyrinth already lingured in wait. A back sweep of his wings sent a strong gush of air straight at the bronze, Aresth was noctorious for his bad temprement but very rarely had his anger ever been directed at a female. Venuth was perfect and eger to fly, Labyrinth's smugness might lead him to believe he had already won but he would have to outfly him first!

Venuth turned to the males present, her eyes whirling with the colors of lust and excitement. Her time was now! She gave a bugling of challenge as she took her feast upon the beast she had chosen. She fought with Cerri to do what she wanted, but Cerri wanted a nice and good flight. Which meant the Barred would blood. It was hard to fight her bonded, but she gave ina nd did as she was told. With that done the barred exclaimed her challenge again.
Flickering her eyes over the males present, she felt satisfied. Two Browns, two Blues, and a Bronze.(Meagen and Toath, Morriamia and Rurith.) She took flight then calling her challenge as she climbed.
Cerri turned towards the males present, and two females, feeling the lust pounding through her as she cupped Jareth's cheek. Then she turned her attention to each of the other chasers in turn. Watching as the female brownrider turned from her, obviously fighting the lust. That was fine, if she didn't think herself good enough that was HER fault. She turned then and darted to the other side of the Weyr, drawing the males with her likely.
Cerri and Venuth were no longer seperate, they were one as the flight entered it's true beginning.
(( Late joiners are welcome, but be prepared as you will really have to prove yourself.))

R'mer was also...not exactly fighting the lust, but not fully surrendering to it. It was likely Cerri knew or suspected why the bluerider might hesitate.
It was not exactly a secret around the Weyr that Tinth's rider preferred men in his furs. Yet, it was washing over him. The beat of his heart was the beat of Tinth's wings.
Tinth flew. Tinth lifted after the barred. He knew better than to expend his energy swiftly in some sprint at the start. Not with a barred. Greens had less endurance than he. Barreds were more equal. He had to be that little bit more careful. That little bit more thoughtful.
He caught a thermal, using it to his advantage, then sliding off it again as it threatened to whirl him away from her. The tips of his wings vibrated in the wind as he beat them again.
Up, up, and ever upward. She would be a hard-won prize, but a fine one. A fine one indeed.

Aresth wasted no time charging after Venuth as soon as she turned skywards. He had not blooded, for every mescle and cell in his body had been tingling with his desire to catch her. How could he lose when he felt so good? He wanted to show her this feeling, take her into ecstacy with him, but he would have to catch her first. This was going to be a good flight!
R'mal's last concious thoughts had not been confident. He was bearly more then then a boy, made expecially clear against the older riders both male and female. Cerri would have a choice, should be able to control herself as soon as Venuth was caught. It wouldn't be him. Yet his eyes watched her, even before they took a glassy tone as he joined with Aresth. She moved away, he had to get closer!

J'reth followed his Pet across the weyr, barely conscious of the other riders in the room. Without exception, his competition consisted of weyrlings. The other female in the room - Meagen of brown Toath, if his barely-functioning brain was accurate - fought against her lust, as did the male-loving blue rider. J'reth had no such compunctions. He knew well what he wanted, and he wanted another taste of the beautiful, vivacious female whose Bonded led the Flight.
With a smirk, he let himself meld completely with bronze Labyrinth.
As for Labyrinth, he too had little thought for his competition. The foul-tempered brown weyrling announced his presence with a buffet of air aimed at the much larger male. Labyrinth used that unexpected buffet to kite to the side, skating between thermals before letting one buoy him up. He returned the gesture to the ill-mannered brown, shoving more air under his broader wings. That was the last consideration he gave his rival, preferring instead to spend his energy impressing the object of his lust - barred Venuth.
Name your desire, beautiful one.
Competition or no competition, he would have his mate.

Venuth took to the skies her wings pumping hard. High she went, and with a twist she moved towards the waters of the lake. Dropping down and skimming her wings. She did a dance of rising and dipping. Knowing the males would be hard pressed to keep stamina at that kind of pace. She had blooded, she wasn't so sure about them. She growled deep in her throat, rising up above them all again. Her wings twisted as she looped back through the males.
Her strokes were strong as she watched them, her eyes glancing over every single one of them. She was drawn towards the male bronze, but the brown was interesting as well. She'd have to make them work their asses off. She growled darkly under her breath and released a call again. Watching the males behind her.
Cerri was drawn to them all, a growl leaving her - mimicing her dragons. "Leave" She hissed to Meagen, watching the brownrider dropping as Venuth knocked her dragon from the running. Then she turned towards the others, her eyes flashing with passion.

Tinth danced in the air, and that dance flowed through R'mer's form. He might not have wanted Cerri under any other circumstance, but flights...
Flights did not matter, flights did not count, that was the litany the Weyr's straight men most commonly used when a male-ridden green rose.
Tinth slid to the side a little. His wings almost seemed hyper-sensitive, preternaturally aware of every bit of air current. Other than that, he was aware only of her. They were about the same size, but she was far more than he right now. She was the silvered beauty, far more desirable than any other female in this moment. All else was literally forgotten.
Dragons live in the moment and this moment was for her. Entirely and wholly.

Aresth followed in the barred's rise and fall game, knowing full well this was not normally a game of the larger dragons. So agile she was, dancing so freely and spirited that she almost transcended the limits a dragon could push. Indeed, Aresth would not deny that he was being well worked but he had an advantage that one was only hatched with. Indeed, it might seem a slight birth defect. Some might even say that he was misformed, but he didnt have the mighty wings most had. The browns wings were noticably that little bit too short to be classed normal, but it had also been a gift. He was more agile then the avarage brown, and certainly more then the big hulking bronze!
Turning skywards once more in persuit of the ultimate prize, the brillant star that was Venuth, his once more booming voice answered her call. He was not done for yet! He snaked his body in fluid motions, showing off his strength from his arched neck to his snapping tail. He hungered for her like nothing before in his life, and he was desperate to forfill her every desire. She need only accept him, and together, they would know no greater joy.
R'mal yearned to reach out to touch Cerri, to caress her cheek, to kiss her lips... Aersth's hunger was his own, the experience alien but surprisingly not unpleasent. He wanted only give all his being, if only to please her. Subconciously he even begged, if only she would give him the chance...

A fiercely protective hunger awoke in J'reth's chest, like a vicious feline trying to claw its way out of a fleshy prison. He knew the looks his Pet was getting, and did not appreciate them one bit. As far as the older bronze rider was concerned, he had laid claim to this girl - no, this beautiful, voluptuous woman - before she had even Impressed. No other rider would lay a hand on her except in Flight-lust, and this is why. A jealous bronze rider is a very, very dangerous thing.
Stop.
Without realizing it, J'reth had stepped towards the boy who seemed to be attached to Labby's main rival - the ill-tempered brown. Practically a weyrling, and here J'reth was ready to strangle him! He forced his hands down with difficulty, though they twitched constantly as if he could not quite quell the need to destroy any who would question his claim.
Labyrinth's call was by far the brassiest answer to the clear challenge issued by Venuth. It came from a broader chest cavity, and had the advantage of age in depth. He was a dragon whose stamina had been built fighting Thread for hours; sustaining both fire and flight while being agile enough to dodge clumped Thread he and his could not avoid otherwise. His agility had not always been the sharpest, as evidenced by the thick, raised tangle of scars that mimicked perfectly the clump of Thread which had hit him. But for this Flight, what he needed to do was keep ahead of the others, and his broad, powerful wings were perfect for that purpose. He bugled his answer, and made the minute changes necessary to adjust for wind interference. That was such second nature, however, that his main goal never became lost - claim Venuth for himself, and Cerri-Pet for J'reth.

Venuth made her call again,the goddess of love and beauty making hte males work for her. Well in this case the dragoness of love and beauty. She creeled out her call her wings pumping her towards the sea, towards something that would challenge the males. She knew she needed height, oh how she needed height. So she climbed and climbed. UP she went, silvered wings working as hard as they could. She wanted to prove herself, to be better then the others - that she was a beauty worth adoration.
She wanted to find the perfect mate for her bonded as well, and herself. He had to work hard, and unfortunately it was a maiden flight - she'd get this right eventually. Her calls rang in the air, as she took herself higher, discounting both blues from the fight. She only allowed the Brown, and the Bronze to continue following suit. These two would have to prove themselves. They would have to work their asses off - to win her.
She called out to Aresth and Labryinth her voice calling to them. This was the time for them to start impressing her.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Cerri vaguely realized the two people leaving, but turned her attention to the remaining males. A bronze rider and a Brown Rider. One she knew, one she did not. She knew the one she loved was there, but it would be Venuth's choice, not hers. She shuddered and groaned as she watched the males. Her eyes glazing with lust. This would be an interesting chase.
As she climbed higher, Tinth sensed her rejection. Already? But he had done nothing wrong. Nothing but the best. She was the most beautiful, the most precious...but it was a waste of time and effort to continue to chase now.
She did not want him. With a bereft cry, the blue dropped towards the floor of the bowl, spiraling downwards like a blown leaf. She did not want him! Why! He did not understand what could possibly be wrong with him, although in part of his mind flowed a sense of relief.
R'mer did not want to bed a woman, but would tolerate it for his dragon. Now he was safe from that fate as he moved out of Cerri's Weyr. His blue needed him.
OOC: Fail! Sorry.
R’mal stared down the bronzerider, had not even flinched at the hint of violence. No, he might be smaller and younger but he had earned his place! Within his dark eyes glowed Aresth with all the strength, power and ferocity the might brown possessed. Anyone would find themselves hard pressed to knock him down, especially at a time like this. Cerri looked at him like he didn’t know him after these past three Turns, so be it. He would just have to start fresh.
~~~~~
Aresth would not budge from his place behind Venuth, no matter how hard the Labyrinth tried to get between them. No longer would he and his rider be treated as nobodies! The sea air swelled under his wings, warmed by a day of sun. This was the battlefield, and this was his last chance.
Torn between impressing and lengthening the distance between them he had fought so hard to maintain his mind was flickering through everything he knew. No common swoops and dives would impress his beloved beauty, she deserved only the best display. Up he went in wide circles above Venuth, admiring her lovely being before closing his wings and letting himself drop. He was not aiming to catch Venuth off guard, instead his aim was slightly off. His target was not the object of his lust and obsession, but the annoying bronze. R’mal’s anger for the bronzerider was hinting through, just as Labyrinth seemed to fight his rider to control himself.
Up and around he darted, cutting off the bronze as he wheeled around Venuth protectively. Every advance he made Aresth was there to block him off. He would not give her up to him!

(( Even though no one else has posted, I left it up to Randomization - which of the remaining two would win. So no squabbles of unfairness k? :3 ))
The Barred bolted higher doinga few interesting corkscrews before looking back. A choice she would have to make, and a choice she would. She found her mind wandering as her wings faltered. Who would she call out to, which male would break her fall? What was she to do - she wanted to keep flying forever. A whine left her as she closed her eyes for a moment. The choice to make - the choice was... Labyrinth.
The possessiveness of the brown set her off. he hadn't once before this day taken any real notice to her over the other barreds in their class. And they were clutchmates somewhere deep inside her - probably from Cerri - that felt wrong. She wrapped herself in the bronze and let the flight finish from there.
(( And despite the fact taht Faerie isn't here to relish her victory - she still won. ))
