Aleyi, probably not to anyone's surprise, was standing at the edge of the group watched Brooke's eggs hatch. She wanted as little as possible to do with the hatchlings, so she ended up hearing when someone asked about a Kagen. "No."
Not her most useful of answers, but it was the truth. "If she's in there though, I guess you're gonna have to risk getting a baby flitter clinging to you if you want to find it." Aleyi didn't know enough about Kagen to know whether Sand meant whether it was male or female, or made any difference at all. They were rabbit things anyways, not fire-lizards or dragons.
Meanwhile, the little Green had untangled herself and more eggs were hatching. As a second Green escaped her egg, the first one scurried over to Kyrissa and started creeling noisily for food. The second Green watched for a moment and, rather like her sister had just moments before, flopped out of the bowl. She didn't get into such a mess though, and got up, looked around a little, and trotted over to the edge of the table... then right off it. Confused at suddenly finding herself among a mess of feet, she chirped uncertainly and then set off through the maze.
Next a Tan and Bronze hatched in quick succession, their eggs smashing against against each other. The pair squabbled noisily for a moment, and then went their seperate ways. The Tan headed to one side of the bowl and sat down, and the Bronze made a beeline to Kyrissa. Anyone who could attract females would be a good buddy for him, and there was a great big blue-purple one and a cute little Green!
The largest egg in the clutch decided to reveal its hatchling next, a slender Gold. Reminiscent of her father, she was small for her color and would grow up to be so too, but otherwise she looked as lovely as her mother. She also looked just as vain, and gave Brooke a sour look. The older Gold returned it, her daughter would be nothing but competition.

Lidi eyes opened wide when she noticed the Gold firelizard. She noticed the young Gold and Brooke, her mother, give each other sour looks. They apparently didn't like each other that much. Lidi thought she would give almost anything for a Gold firelizard, but she didn't want to be irrational, everyone, well, almost everyone, would want a Gold firelizard, or a Gold anything.
Lidi closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She tried to send nice, peaceful, and happy thoughts to all the firelizards. Lidi had noticed the one Green firelizard fall, but she was sure the little lizard could find itself someone to feed it. Nobody was likely to accidentally step on it.
Mine, what is it? Came Valeninth's voice in Lidi's head. Lidi opened her eyes and tried to focus. A Gold firelizard hatched, a small one. Not that how big it was mattered at all to Lidi. Really? Wow! Lidi could feel her dragon's excitement at that thought.
Lidi pushed Valentinth to the edge of her mind, and tried to concentrate on the firelizards. She wanted to walk away from this hatching with at least one, maybe more; and if she could, she wanted to walk away with that Gold firelizard.

"Strife..."
Izzy didn't want to get in the middle of a fire lizard Hatching, but wanted to find her Kagen. Everything was okay when she had Strife with her.
Taking a deep breath, Izzy shouldered her way into the mix delicately, putting herself in the way of any hatchling that might want her. She spotted Strife's sandy fur, and made a lunge for her.
Unfortunately, Strife slipped through her fingers, and reappeared after a brief pause in another part of the circle.

S'bri finished feeding Scatter, and the young blue began to nod off in his arms. He decided to stick around and watch the rest of the hatching, but he backed up a little so the hatchlings would notice other people first. He chuckled when a gold hatched and exchanged a look with her mother. It looked like Brooke would have some competition!
L'noen wasn't taking any chances. He slunk out with his Starlight and Moondust. He didn't want any more fire lizards now. Two newborns was enough to take care of, especially as inexperienced as he was.

"Koll," Gwen decided, stepping back with her brown. She regarded the gold for a moment. Spunky would probably kill her if she Impressed a queen, then she wouldn't be the alpha female any more.
"A bronze," T'mar breathed. Freyjath would like this, a *bronze* firelizard to be her servant. And bronzes were supposed to be easier to train, although this one radiated..bronzitude. Definitely. It reminded him of some od the bronze and tan dragons.
Not quite as bad as that big tan, Apolloth, though. That was one arrogant dragon, but his rider seemed able to handle him.

K'nam's heart leapt a beat as the green fell off the table, but from his position there was no way he could help the little creature. Well, if he wanted to leap over the table or barge everyone out of the way he could but it seemed the poor little green was left to depend on herself. But just like that he had missed the another tan and bronze hatch and were already Impressing or roaming about.
The weyrling scolded himself, he needed to pay more attention! Maybe that was why still none of the hatchlings had come up to him yet, as he was just another face in the crowd. Erith continued to give his mental support, knowing everything as it happened through his rider.
When the gold hatched K'nam gave a little smile, he hadn't expected there to be a gold but now he felt a little reminded of his own Impression in miniature. Erith hadn't hatched till after gold Voluspath had, but had Impressed before she had. There was still hope, while most of the clutch had hatched only half had Impressed.
Impress the little gold, she's pretty! Erith coaxed but honestly K'nam didn't know what to do without making it look like he was being selfish by trying to steal her away from the others.

Kyrissa
Kyrissa was happily surprised when the green scurried over to her after having picked herself up. Immediately she obliged the little green with scraps of the meat, being careful not to let her choke. Then there was a bronze beside the green that also creeled for his own food. "Oh Faranth. I can tell you are going to be a handful. I think I will call you Scraps and you little miss can be Daisy." She fed both of them in turn until they slowly fell asleep and she transferred them from the table into her arms. Well Opheliath. We have a couple of nice little friends for us. I will watch the rest of the hatching but I will be back once it has finished. Oh that is wonderful Mine. There is also a little gold just hatched. How interesting.
R'kah
R'kah stood stroking Amethyst as he watched more eggs hatch. He notice the unimpressed green go and finally impress, not long followed by a bronze. Then he let out a soft gasp as he saw a gold hatch. He knew she was sure going to be trouble for someone.

The little Green that had been running about on the floor squealed with happiness when she saw someone searching the floor- obviously looking for her! She ran to Izzy, practically tripping over herself in her excitement, and then latched onto the girl's boot. With no plans to let go until she was fed, the Green started creeling happily.
The Tan that had hatched a bit earlier put his forepaws on the rim of the bowl, taking a careful look at everyone present. Who was most likely to feed him? Eventually he decided, and attempted to fly to his chosen. That maneuver didn't quite work out, his wings weren't quite dry, but he made it most of the way, and upon landing on the table scrambled to K'nam. His eyes whirled with embarrassment, hopefully not too many people had seen that.
A third Bronze hatched amid the distractions, gave his golden sister a questioning glance, and headed out of the bowl. He had no clue why she would rather glare at their mother than go get food. Still pondering this, he found himself at the edge of the table, and only barely stopped himself from falling off. The person he was nearest was T'lat, so he cheeped to the boy hungrily.
A Blue and Green hatched quickly, followed by another Blue, and the three small hatchlings immediately started up a raucous call for food but didn't leave the bowl to go find people who would help them with it. The Gold hatchling's eyes whirled with dismay- she wanted nothing to do with all this noise. After giving Brooke one last irritated glance, she bounded over to Lidi and demanded food.
Finally the last egg hatched, revealing a Brown. It joined its smaller siblings in chirping, but upon making the group four, seemed to offend one of the Blues. It stood and trotted away across the table, straight to T'lat. The remaining Blue, Green, and Brown watched him go in silence and then started cheeping again.

Kyrissa
Kyrissa smiled as she watched the rest of the eggs hatched. Some of them impressed and she noticed that a green, blue and brown stayed in the bowl and creeled hungrily. She wondered why they made the decision to stay where they were and not find someone to feed them. It didn't make sense to her when they had plenty of people to choose from, but she turned her thoughts back to love, warmth and reassurance. She didn't direct them at any specific one but to all of them in general. She didn't want to see any of them go between through not impressing.
R'kah
R'kah continued to stroke Amethyst as he watched the last of the eggs hatch. He was glad that most of them impressed but the ones left in the bowl creeling with hunger bothered him. He wanted to see them impress but he didn't want to further iritate Claudiuth then he knew he already had.

T'mar's attention was all on his bronze right now, although he was aware more firelizards had hatched...including the queen of the clutch.
But he had one, and that was what mattered. He had the best one, in his mind. He didn't need or want a queen, and the bronze was, thus, the best he could have had. Well, a tan would have been nice too, they were pretty. Trouble, though, was shiny through his egg goo...he needed to be bathed and oiled...and had hints of metallic green in him.
That wasn't unusual in a bronze. Hopefully, he would prove more readily trainable than his hatching attitude indicated. Ah well, he could always ask Gwenduinne for tips...she had that unpleasant barred of hers under control, after all.
Gwen was watching the queen. She was, truthfully, curious who would get the Weyr's newest gold. She fed a few more scraps to Koll, who drifted off to sleep. He was a lovely shade of brown, and she could sense Spunky's approval of 'her' new male.
Tyrth even roused himself to comment, Collecting them?
Two's hardly a fair, handsome, and they'll help keep you clean
That was enough for the white, who showed every speck of dirt and was constantly irritated about the fact. He did not like being dirty, and insisted on being bathed a little more often than most of the young dragons. Fortunately, there was less of him, so it evened out.
Which reminds me...will you come bathe me as soon as the hatching is over?
Of course. Koll and Spunky need washing too Doing them all together would save time.

With all of the eggs hatched, S'bri decided to leave before one of the remaining babies got desperate and started begging him for food. He knew he wouldn't be able to refuse. His spot was quickly taken by a tall, willowy young woman. Estryna tentatively approached the bowl, looking down at the trio of flitts.
They're cute... she thought to herself, looking around at all the people feeding their new pets. Estryna didn't know anything about flitts, and she wondered how you impressed one.

Lidi looked at the Gold firelizard in front of her asking, no, demanding food. She hesitantly gave her some of the meat. The Gold shredded it up, then asked for more. When she had finally eaten all she wanted, and Lidi barely had any meat left, the Gold went up on her shoulder and cheeped sleepily.
Lidi pondered over possible names for the Gold firelizard. She looked at the Blue, Green, and Brown firelizard that were left. Although she did think she wanted another firelizard, she was pretty sure the Green would be off-limits according to her Gold, and she wasn't at all sure the Gold would welcome any color. Lidi decided to stay there and see how they did. Maybe one would come to her, though probably not. Besides, there were others here that didn't have firelizards.
Still, the Gold needed a name. She tried to think about that as she stroked the little lizard. For some reason, she liked the name Raven. She didn't know why, but it made her think of glossy and sleek, which made her think of the little Gold. "Alright then, I'll call you Raven" Lidi decided, glad to have that over with. She turned her attention to the other lizards, wondering who they would go to.
Valentinth's thoughts intruded her mind. What happened, LidiMine? A gave the Gold food, her name is Raven. Raven? That is... strange, but I like it.

Gradually realizing that they weren't going to get any food by sitting in the bowl and begging, the three fire-lizards left decided to go their seperate ways. The Brown trotted over to a newcomer- Estryna- and chirped hopefully for food. She looked a little nervous, but he wasn't too worried about that.
The Blue bounced over to K'nam, also eager for food. The boy did have another hatchling with him, but hopefully that wouldn't slow the coming of food to the little hatchling's hungry belly. He creeled loudly before going back to the chirping he'd been doing practically since hatching, just to make sure K'nam got the message that he was here and very hungry.
The Green, meanwhile, apparently had a more adventurous streak in her than the rest of the hatchlings. She spread her little wings and lifted out of the bowl, then flew straight to an unlucky cook who had come over to see what all the noise was about. ((If there's someone here that I missed, I can switch this so that she Impresses to them.))
Brooke sighed softly, somewhat relieved to see all of her young had found homes and glad to not have to care for eggs anymore, but also a bit disappointed that she was going to have nothing to do but get after Aleyi again until her next Flight. Hers had left her alone much better than she usually did while Brooke had a clutch. After giving the shards a respectful sniff, Brooke took off and landed on Aleyi's head, chirping angrily at Pip for taking the shoulder she usually preferred to occupy. It didn't take long for Brooke to get everything back to how it had been before, at least among her little family.

Lidi watched happily as the last three firelizards chose someone to get food from. Sure, she hadn't gotten another lizard, but she didn't care. She had one, and that was what mattered. Her goal had been accomplished, she had gotten a firelizard. Lidi put the small remainder of her meat back, then headed off, stroking the sleeping Raven as she left.

Hearth was grumpy, and N'lel could tell. I hope that Brown thing doesn't hope he is better than me. Whatever his name was. N'lel tried to keep calm with his dragon, he knew Hearth was being quite sensitive about the whole thing, but he was always like that. His name is Dare, and no, he is not better than you. No firelizard can compare to you, did you really think they could? Hearth didn't answer, but N'lel knew he wasn't happy about that.
N'lel set off back to Hearth with Dare now sleeping, entwined around his neck. He hoped Hearth's mood might improve just a little bit later. He knew enough about his dragon to know Hearth wouldn't stay grumpy for to long. He would get over it soon enough, he was just grumpy that Dare was getting more attention then him right now.

This time K'nam was there to catch the flopping tan, almost laughing at his antics as he seemed to have finally made his choice. Careful hands righted the hatchling but he seemed to want to hide in the shelter they offered. A quick little chirp brought him back to the fact that the little tan was hungry which was instantly offered and just as quick disappeared down his throat.
No gold? Erith asked sadly. For some reason, possibly instinctively, he was very fond of golds whether they be hatchings, firelizards or his own mother Nayarath. What are we going to call him? Now that was a good question, as it hadn't crossed his mind. Piecing something together it would have to do; Azal.
When a second little voice peeped up next to his hands, which turned quickly into a shriek before chirping again. "Well hello there little one." The brownrider offering him a scrap and herding the blue closer to Azal. Well now he had to think of another name, but this time it seemed a lot easier; Bounce.

T'lat stood there wacthing the eggs hacth and as the flit's went off to the new onwers. He luaghed alittle at the antics. This was one of the few things T'lat could do and not be nevrous around other people which was to be at a flit hacthing. That was when he saw on of the bronzes come acorss the table in his direction. Though when he seemed the little guy would fall T'lat qucikly put his hands out to cacth him, though let out a sigh of reilef when the bronze flit stopped and cheeped at him. T'lat luaghed a little realizing that the bronze flit wanted him and he took the food he had broth and began to feed the little guy and said " I think I will call you Topaz." He smiled as the bronze seemed to chirp his approval. He reached down and scooped the bronze up into his arms. Though noticed at that moment that a blue had come up to him. Though this guy unlike his brother seemed to stop right when neccersy which ment T'lat did not need to try and cacth him. The blue chirped at him for food which T'lat provided as he said " Your name my little guy will be Shappire." With that he scopped up the firelizard and held his new family members proudly in his arms.

Kyrissa
Kyrissa smiled as the last three little flits impressed, the brown going to a young girl she hadn't seen before. It looked like the girl had no idea what to do so she went over and put the bowl down in front of her. "You need to feed the little guy. Use the scraps of meat in that bowl." She explained gently, looking down at the two sleeping in her arms with a soft smile. What colours are our little friends? A lovely little green called Daisy and a bronze called Scraps. Oh, that is wonderful. I would not mind being a perch for them if they want to use me as one. That is nice of you dearheart.
R'kah
R'kah was happy with his little barred but knew he was in for a grilling from his bad tempered dragonet. The strange new coloured males seemed to always be bad tempered and grumpy, even more so the smaller they ended up when full grown. Tawny was watching the sleeping Amethyst with adoring eyes. The brown was happy that he would have some nice company to be with, rather then almost getting eaten by a grumpy dragonet.

Estryna's eyes widened when the brown padded over to her, chirping. What did she do now? Fortunately, she was rescued by another girl, who handed her a bowl of meat. "Thanks," Estryna said gratefully, gingerly picking up the little brown. She almost expected him to scratch or bite, but he just creeled more loudly.
"Okay...calm down," she whispered, taking a piece of meat and dangling it in front of his snout. The brown snapped it up and promptly begged for more. Estryna obligingly provided him with more food. As she fed the brown, she felt a warm, fuzzy sensation, and she smiled, guessing that she had Impressed.
"I'll call him Jordi," she declared, the smile turning into a grin as she faced the girl who had helped her. "Thanks again. I really didn't know what to do. I'm Estryna, a candidate."

Kyrissa smiled back at Estryna, glad that she could help the girl who looked a similiar age to her. "Oh, no problem. I kind of guessed that they would be the same as a dragon, although different too." She glanced down at the two flits sleeping in her arms, realizing it would be impossible to shake the girls hand. "I would offer to shake your hand, but my arms are full at the moment. I am Kyrissa, new weyrling of the sky, Opheliath." The hatching for the dragons had been exciting and this one had proved no different in that respect. "If you think this was exciting and nerve-racking, wait until you are on the sands. I can tell you, it is alot more nerve-racking, but well worth it." Her smile widened as she remembered how she'd felt before Opheliath had impressed to her, then the amazement afterwards.

"Strife? What...oh, no."
Clamped to her boot was a green fire lizard. A fire lizard!!! Not good, no, not good at all. Izzy decided to ignore the creature, and snagged Strife as the Kagen ran by.
"Strife, make it go away!"
The Sand Kagen looked at the creeling green fire lizard, and back up at Izzy.
Burbling, Strife offered the lizard something she held tightly between her paws. It was a section of meatroll she'd swiped form a table.
The lizard took the food, and disappeared between with it.
Izzy gathered Strife up in her customary pocket, and left the Lower Caverns before anymore mishaps happened.
