Gwen was by the lake, cleaning Tyrth. Again. The white might be small, but he showed the dirt and he hated to be dirty. Given she shared that, she was not going to complain.
He was growing well, too, sure, he would be the smallest of the dragons, but he was, she was sure, going to be big enough to fly. And maybe...huh.
Where was Spunky? The barred might pretend to hate Gwen, but she seldom let her side, and usually she would 'help' with the dragon bathing. In the way a two turn old helped with anything.
She wasn't there, and then Gwen felt a faint surge that oddly mingled rage and lust. "Oh, Faranth"
Mine?
"Spunky's getting herself chased." She was glad she had the discipline to shut it out...and rather glad Spunky wasn't a gold.
Spunky flew out of the weyrling barracks, out across the bowl and then up. Her glow, the violet stripes almost seeming neon, and the lust that radiated from her was not enough for her satisfaction. That wouldn't attract the males! She saw a group of firelizards sunning and buzzed them, hissing before climbing upwards again.
They would chase her, they would not, though, catch her! Males were to be led a dance, the dance of the skies, and she was up, catching the air currents to fly higher, away from them. Can't catch me! She bugled her challenge.
Well, sure, eventually she'd let one of them catch her, she supposed. But they'd have to chase first!

((Spunky isn’t two Turns old. O.o *wonders what has happened to the dates in the Weyr with everyone lately* Fire-lizards just mature faster than dragons…))
N’ren was busy doing what he often had to do now, readjusting and fixing up Johannesth’s riding straps. The Tan wasn’t growing as much as he had when he had just hatched, he was a Turn old now and nearly had his full size, but he did a lot more now and it was hard to keep track of everything the dragon used and needed. Tak sat on the weyrling’s shoulder, watching him with his usual aloof expression.
But something was missing. N’ren didn’t hear Torch’s chatter. As the realization that the Blue was gone dawned over him, he looked around in surprise, wondering what could have become of the flitter. Then, with a sudden apologetic chirp, Tak also flicked between. What could have the attention of both fire-lizards?
Torch’s sudden and uncontrolled excitement, mixed with lust that N’ren had gotten used to by now, didn’t much take the boy by surprise. Another fire-lizard was flying, and his Blue was chasing. What a shock. But Tak was too? Who was this? The Brown, always in full control of himself, helpfully projected His a fuzzy image of a Barred before almost cutting off their connection. Tak didn’t like to share his Flight experiences. N’ren glanced at Jo, happy that at least the Tan didn’t chase females yet, and returned to his task.
It had been some time since Tak had chased. Greens, he felt, had never been worth his time. He wasn’t sure if he dared chase a queen, not one of the current adults anyways. Maybe a younger one would be more accepting of him, he being a very experienced and handsome Brown, but they hadn’t Flown yet. Now though, a Barred was taking to the skies. He had to see how they were.
Hopefully in the time he had taken off from chasing, the Brown hadn’t lost any of his experience. Once, it seemed oh so long ago, he had been able to catch nearly any Green he went after, and probably could have caught Golds had it not been for all the more powerful Bronzes. A Barred wasn’t much bigger than a Green, but surely much more intelligent. Tak felt sure he could win her heart, and without the use of all the silly tricks he had always tried in his youth.
That Torch was chasing was a put-down. The Blue was Tak’s greatest failure in life, ever-irritating and refusing to learn just how one should act. He went after every flash of a female and always lost because, frankly, Tak doubted anyone could stand his noisy presence. He wasn’t competition for the Brown, but he was a pain and a sign that not everything Tak attempted came out as success. Maybe he would get lucky and the Barred would not know the pairs’ relation.
The Barred bugled a challenge and Tak crooned to her in return. Of course he could not catch her, he could never snatch such a beauty out of the sky where she belonged. She would have a champion at some point, but now was the not time. Whenever that time was though, Tak planned for it to be him.
A Flight, a Flight! Torch spun in an excited corkscrew, then whirled out and shot a little close to the Barred, chattering his amazement with her and the whole idea of a good game of chase. He had never chased a Barred before, and they were very beautiful. He started chattering about that. What fun this would be! Torch had lost the last few Flights he had joined, but now he knew why! He was meant to catch this lovely silver-green female.
He was quite amazed with her violet stripes against the pale background. It was almost like his coloring, the dark blue body and bright, excited head! They almost matched! He could hardly believe it. Torch dropped back a little, finished with chattering his compliments to the Barred (he could never run out, but didn’t want to overload her with them), and began chattering to himself about how wonderful this was.
Then he noticed Tak. The old Brown thought he could win? What madness! Torch chattered playfully to him, amazed that his friend would join a Flight, a game in all definition. Tak hated games. And how could he possibly win when he was so excessively dull? Torch rolled, thrill and the idea of catching a female giving him extra energy. His eyes flickered with violet, another lovely contrast on his multi-colored hide. No female could resist his charms, especially not this lovely Barred. Torch would win this Flight, there was no doubt at all. He began chattering about all the lovely colors.

Kitz had been dozing in the sun, spring felt goos after the chill of winter. Snow was bad; too cold, wet and slippery to be good. But something tugged at his attention, through to his subcounciousness. Urges never felt before grew on him and he knew what he had to do. It was the urge to chase, to mate now that he had just come of age.
It was a barred that had tuged at his natural drives and already the males were flocking, he could waste little time. Betweening to her he bugled his answer to her unsaid challenge, arching his neck and showing off his physeek. He may be small for a bronze, but that I no way belittle his genetics. So far all she had to choose from was an old brown and mere blue, from which he ranked both.

H'rik had come to be able to throw off any feelings of...excitement associated with Scuttle going off to chase. So far, the firelizard had been involved in several flights outside the Weyr and inside it when a flitter Impressed to some random Lower Caverns worker when it Rose. Still, they did often unnerve him for, at least for a moment as the brown initially took off, he was enthralled with lust and anger. Generally, he was doing such a brainless task when the flit took off to Chase that it caught H'rik completely off guard and startled Emblath.
And today was no different...
The firelizard had been sunning himself on the roof of some building, snoozing the day away. He would have surely missed his chance to Fly after a beautiful firelizard had the wind not been so strong. Scuttle smelled the musk radiating off of the proddy female and he was /between/ in an instant, heading to where the Rising flit was.
She had swooped high over the place where His and the....big ugly thing slept! And she was bugling, challenging! Answering her call, Scuttle saw three other challengers already after her. In his rage of being merely a player in the game rather than the victor already, Scuttle bugled again, louder, flapping his long wings to gain distance between himself and...and the beautiful barred!
She was much more lovely than any of the other girls he'd chased after! No old, ugly brown, no scrawny blue, no arrogant tiny bronze would win her! No! Scuttle would be victorious! And with no other thought except winning and the lust which consumed him, Scuttle was rushing after the barred, moving to pass his male competitors.

Four males. Only four? Well, they would have to do! A blue, two browns and a bronze. Well, she would not judge by color, she would judge by worth. She bugled her challenge, and then flew on. By the lake was a pile of rocks. She darted around and between them. Who could follow her? Could any of them guess where she would emerge? The best male had to show strength, agility, courage and endurance. No, she did not know why she needed the best, only that she did.
Only that nothing but that would do, and maiden as she was, she knew by pure instinct that the end of the flight was the best part. Made all the better, of course, by putting it off as long as possible. They had to catch her, and that would not be easy. Blue, brown and bronze, she did not look back at them for more than a moment, just to see who was still with her as she came around the formation and headed out across the lake, climbing again.

((Lilac is very offended by Scuttle calling a Barred more beautiful than herself. xD))
Ah, now more suitors were here. A small Bronze and a second Brown. The Bronze was a Bronze, but he was small for one. His offspring would probably carry that trait, and who wanted shrimpy young? Tak doubted he would be too much competition. The Brown was odd looking, his wings seemed too long for his body, and hadn’t he chased the Violet and failed? What younger female wouldn’t follow her mother’s good example? Tak still felt very sure he had a good chance of being Spunky’s champion. But he would still have to prove himself truly worthy too, not just expect the win he was sure lay ahead of him.
What was she doing? Tak followed as the Barred rushed through the little obstacle course of rocks, but could not dive and weave through them quite as easily as she. Tak did his best, but had to avoid a few spots, instead arcing over or swinging sideways to swerve gallantly around them. He was a large Brown and although he was agile, he was not going to risk losing the Flight just because he flew through a space too small and get himself hurt. The Barred had to be made to feel she was better anyways, and this was a good way. He could keep up and had skill, but they weren’t quite the same as hers. Their young would have a healthy mix.
Finally she left the stones behind and Tak followed her with relief into open air once again. The Barred had already tried to test her suitors; hopefully she wouldn’t waste time with silly games like the Greens always seemed to do. Good, good. The only question was in whether Tak had passed or not. He did his best, he always would, but agility was not his strongest point. It wasn’t the most vital either though; Tak was plenty agile for a Brown of his size and age. Size put him at a disadvantage there, but it wasn’t right to be marked down for that sort of genetics. The Barred would be smarter than that. Tak figured himself practically perfect in any other area.
Rocks! Torch dove into them with glee, ignoring all the other males to focus completely on the lovely Barred he was pursuing. He spun and darted through the mound of stones with ease, mimicking every move of Spunky’s and adding in his own little tricks. Torch had no fear of bumping into the rocks as he wove around and between them, his only thoughts were on the Barred and he knew he had to prove himself to her. Holding back would be no help at all.
As he flew, Torch chattered absently about what a fun game playing in the rocks was and occasionally threw in a spattering of praise towards the Barred’s skills at it. Then she was flying away from the stones, higher into the air. Torch followed her eagerly, as he would do until the time was right to end the Flight. Those silly, slow Browns and Bronzes would have no chance against this quick little Blue! Torch had already decided that, and so needed to pay no more attention to the competition. The Barred was all that mattered, not the others who thought they would have a chance with her.
Up, up! Torch spun in a few tight corkscrews, chattering happily. He loved flying. All the wind, all the freedom, and it only took a little energy to flap his wings. It was no trouble at all, and this time flying would have a prize at the end. Torch dove and came up again, spinning, keen to show off his limitless energy and talent at flying. The Barred was so pretty, the day was so lovely, and eventually he would be enjoying it all with a new mate. What could be more fun?

Ha! Let the fools waste their energy scrambling around the rocks when there was no way they would fare as well as she, and Kitz wasn't going to try. Instead the bronze went skywards to watch and wait. He could see everything from his vantage point, all he had to do was follow and wait. The chase was still young and the prize much too close to the ground, neither partners would be able to enjoy the flight and little mating if any would take place.
Oh yes, Kitz was determined to catch on his first chase and he had been born with the strength and endurance to do it. Spunky was also a very fine female and would be a shame to share with hopeful browns and lowly blues. Barred’s were such a delicacy, more then a green and no where nearly as demanding was queens. Perfect mates in the eyes of this bronze, however untested he was in the competition for her affections. She would need a real male that that would be him.
As she came out of the rocks he was right behind on her tail once more, allowing her to gain height unchallenged of capture. He wanted his pretty one to fly well and long so she could take pleasure in energy well spent and dam a clutch of strong little ones. And Kitz would be the one to sire them!

OoC: Well, what can I say? He's only loyal once he gets 'um. XD
IC:
Another bugle burst forth from the long brown and Scuttle was keen to make himself noticed to the barred he was after. So young, so saucy! She would be a fine little thing for him to Catch, yes indeedy! His wings pumped quickly, surging him forward, up and up, trying to get higher than the other, lesser flits who had also given Chase to the barred. None of them were good enough to keep pace with Scuttle! None of them were good enough for the barred he sought.
And so quickly in her voyage did the barred wish to test her suitors: She was heading, Scuttle saw, from his position slightly above the rest of the formation, towards a grouping of rocks near the lake. The other would-be mates had already swooped after her, he saw to his dismay and disgust! He wouldn't dare risk charging into the rocks with his size: He would surely smack into something and be injured and miss his chance with Spunky!
Instead, he hung back just as she burst out of the rocks, watching as the barred climbed upwards. Now he acted! A young one had attempted to try the same thing, but he was higher than Scuttle was! With a predatory call, he dove down to intercept, attempting to cut off the young bronze in his efforts. His wings tucked close to him, he rolled neatly and then spread them wide, using them like a parachute to break his dive and give him lift as well. Just as quickly as he had dove, he was surging upwards again, right after Spunky, knowing that he couldn't allow himself to stay so far behind again.
To prove his worth, he needed to stay as close to his barred little prize as possible. With her age, she would wear herself out and he would be the one to claim her!

Out across the lake she angled. The sunlight reflected off the water and off her wings. No, she was not high enough, and abruptly, she went into a steep spiralling climb, up, up, away from the lake, away from those mere males who thought to challenge her dominance of the sky.
At the back of her mind, though, she had to choose one, one to be her consort. One to share the air and the wind and the water with her. There was the blue, the one who would not shut up. She did not want to watch eggs with his endless prattling! But even not considering him, two browns, a bronze. Any of the three would do, at this point. So, which one knew where...she slid sideways. There it was, a thermal off the beach to carry her even higher, she would fly as high as a queen dragon, as high and as well! And then, yes, then she would choose. No silly tricks or flirting, he had to be strong, agile and smart...and she began to seriously consider her choice as she rose upwards.

This had been what Kitz had been waiting for! Calling on some of his strength reserves he made for a burst forwards, up after Spunky. Till now he had been rather lain back during the rocks but now was the time to make up for lost oppertunity to show them all what bronzes were made of! None would match him and he would show that to his darling barred.
While only the size of the browns they were not built like he was. His seed would produce superior hatchlings as physical size counted for little. Like Tyrth, the little white, he would show what he was made of. Had he been weak he may never have hatched so that only proved how much they had to give.
The rising air of the thermal aided to his speed and shot him up. The sun danced on his metallic hide and glistened with a healthy green shine, but he wasn't glowing like Spunky though close to it. Roaring again it was more to the males he had left behind to back off! They would only be met with disappointment as long as he chased her.

Half the males hadn’t followed Spunky when she dove into the rocks. What sort of respect was that, not even following the female on her Flight? It didn’t look as though she minded though, something that rather surprised Tak. Why had she gone to the rocks in the first place if she didn’t care if they followed? Why had he followed, then? That had been a waste of energy. Perhaps she did mind though, and simply wasn’t showing it. Whether the Brown and Bronze who hadn’t followed the Barred would get a chance to redeem themselves was questionable then.
It had definitely been too long since Tak had chased; he kept forgetting the female he was following and rather considered the antics of his competition. When helping teach a pack of silly hatchlings to behave, that was useful enough, but now the Barred was climbing! Tak angled his flight path upwards, after her. He would follow the beautiful female wherever she went, high or low, through rocks or air or water… already, two of the males had proved that they wouldn’t. And Torch was no competition at all, he wouldn’t close his mouth and no female wanted a mate who lacked the ability to be quiet.
And he was thinking of the other fire-lizards again, rather than watching the Barred! And she had turned! Tak squeaked softly in dismay and swerved quickly. His action had been delayed, but maybe the tight turn he had taken would earn him something… a small female like her would surely be watching for good agility. Focusing on Spunky, Tak tried to let the little barriers he usually put up fall; if he wanted any chance in this Flight, he had to let himself completely into it. Holding back ended up with him getting distracted and would finish with a loss on his part. Tak had not chased so he could lose the race, he would be this female’s champion.
Torch chattered excitedly as Spunky darted even higher upwards. What fun this was to be bringing the competition so high into the air! He spiraled after her, the Blue’s excessive amounts of energy showing themselves more and more as the chase ran on. Torch didn’t know the meaning of tired, and even though he was against Browns and a Bronze, he could surely last as long as they did. Whatever happened, he would fly as long as he needed to catch this lovely Barred.
If only the Barred could come up with a few more exciting games. Torch followed her as she drifted to the side, chattering absently to himself about how fun Flights were when they contained much more than just flying. That was the advantage of Greens, none of them lacked creativity. But Spunky was so lovely in appearance, her light hide glowing, the purple stripes extra vibrant… Torch couldn’t tear his whirling violet eyes from her even if he had wanted to.
It was a pity that it didn’t seem like she was paying a whole lot of attention to him. Torch was very used to being ignored… and didn’t appreciate in Flights. Probably the female was just being female and not giving away any thoughts of who she might want by paying extra attention to one or another male… but Torch had chased and lost in enough Flights, he wasn’t going to chance failing to catch this lovely Barred. He bugled shrilly, hoping to catch her attention, and flapped a little harder, coming closer to Spunky as they rose higher.
Then he folded his wings and dropped. Torch didn’t just fall though, he adjusted his position slightly as he fell so that he somersaulted downwards through the air and imagined he must look quite amazing. As he neared the lake, the Blue’s dark wings snapped open and he skimmed just over the surface, letting the edges of his feet trail in it just for a moment. Then, up again! Spunky and the rest were flying very high and he had to get back to them now. But of course Torch had the energy; when was there a time when he didn’t?
Torch corkscrewed upwards and crooned softly to Spunky as he rejoined the ranks of her followers. He had agility, strength, creativity, and a willingness to perform that it didn’t look like the other males had. They should be chasing queens, who didn’t care so much for agility since the large Browns, Tans, and Bronzes often lacked it. Only a fire-lizard such as Torch would be the right choice for Spunky, and he would prove it to her over and over until the final decision was made and he became her mate.

Spunky was rising! And rising high and fast! Scuttle was father along behind her and wouldn't have time to hit the thermal to shoo upwards. He would face a real test of strength! That foolish bronze was taking the easy way out, Spunky wouldn't choose him for sure! Out of the long brown a challenging trumpet met the bronze's roar and he spread his long wings wide, pumping them harder, faster, creating as much spreed and upward velocity as he possibly could.
He was suddenly apart of the wind, apart of the air around him. Scuttle's body became more streamlined and he plowed through the air, climbing faster and faster and faster, he shot past a blue and another brown, snarling at them both as overtook them. The bronze had the most distance on him, but he was too powerful, too swift to lose to any of those other lesser firelizards! While he didn't perform some silly energy exhausting maneuvers like that blue, and that he hadn't been following her move for move like the other brown, he lacked the sheer size of the bronze, he was certainly making up for it by the sheer brute strength he was exerting on his climb. If Spunky didn't acknowledge his strain, his effort he made for, then...he would just have to show her further!
His wings had begun to burn from his vertical climb upwards, but at least he was only but a few winglenghts away from beautiful Spunky!

Well, now. This was going to be hard. Spunky's wings burned, she was tired, she longed for respite. Respite from the tiring flight and from the bright tension within her. She could not go much further, and suddenly she did not need to.
So, which of the four would she choose? She was still not sure. The bronze and one brown had not followed her all of the way, but did that mean they were unwilling to dance to her lead, or did it mean they were smart? She could not decide. All four were strong, all four were worthy. Dropping back further, she was suddenly in amongst them, her tail teasingly close to both Scuttle and Tak, but neither of the other two were out of it. One last challenge. She bugled. Show me who is worthy, her voice said. She had no idea how to choose, and in truth, might not be strong enough to evade if one of them chose just to take her.
OOC: Last round!

Tak had little trouble letting his full concentration fall on Spunky when she suddenly dropped back. But she was just as close to the other Brown, so he didn’t take it as a decision of which male would Fly her. She was teasing. Tak felt a little disappointment at that… but he had joined the Flight, he would still win it. What female went through life not ever teasing the males occasionally anyways? Greens were the only ones who were all flirt.
At least it seemed that Spunky was leaving Torch out of it. But the game wasn’t over yet, Tak realized as she bugled a final challenge. Well. Tak would show her that he was the only male worthy of the lovely little Barred. Pity though; to perform, he would have to move away from her. It wouldn’t be for long though.
Although big, old, and experienced, Tak was feeling the strain of the Flight. He couldn’t do anything too dramatic, but the Brown would do his best. Anyways, if he was tiring, the others had to be too. First he let himself fall back a little, getting some space, and then the Brown tilted into a sharp incline for some extra momentum. He didn’t have much in mind, but he would make the most of his chance to perform.
Before he dropped too far away from the rest, the Brown abruptly twisted upwards again. His wings pumped as he rose, moving him faster and faster. Tak shot past the other fire-lizards, whizzing by just in front and a bit to the side (so she saw, but didn’t have to brake for him) of Spunky. Once he was several lengths above the rest of the group, Tak pulled a tight, controlled loop that, for a moment, brought his nose almost to his tailtip, and then circled back to his original spot.
Tak figured that would be enough; it took control to keep the perfect spacing he had, strength to fly straight upwards, agility to spin around as he had. The Barred had to choose him!
If Torch was tired, he paid no attention to it. The little Blue was fully focused on the beautiful Barred. He watched her with whirling violet eyes that were yet another fascinating contrast against the different blues of his hide, and chirped softly in dismay when Spunky came close not to him, but to Tak and the other Brown. Why did she favor them after all his work? A little anxious, Torch pumped his wings and put himself closer to the glowing Barred.
Then, of course, she had to ask for another trick. The little Blue was happy enough to carry it out, but felt it ironic that she had to ask right as he had pressed a little closer. Now he would need to move out again. He chattered absently about it while Tak performed and Torch considered what he would do. He had already performed one stupendous technique, what could he do next?
Well, he wouldn’t use water this time. And he would do better than his dull Brown friend had. Torch needed something positively thrilling! But that was much easier said than done. Something thrilling, unexpected, daring… ah. Now he had it. Torch chattered with excitement as he moved to carry out his plan.
So many tricks seemed to start with a dive for momentum. Well, this time, Torch just broke his flight path and climbed. Up, up, up! Away he went, his wings pumping and his chest heaving as he worked to go higher and higher. His breath was coming in funny little gasps when he finally reached his chosen altitude and Torch had needed to, for the moment, stop chattering to save his breath. For a moment, he hovered high above the rest of the group. Spunky looked so beautiful down below, he could hardly resist the urge to just dive right into her and claim the lovely female. But he managed to, despite popular belief Torch did have a little self control.
Now to really show Spunky what he was made of. He hoped she was looking at him; with the sun at his back, Torch had to look quite stunning. But it didn’t matter now, because he dove from his little spot, wings tight to his body and legs gathered against his underside so he was like a little blue comet falling through the sky. It didn’t take nearly as long to reach the little group as it had to climb above them, and Torch let himself fall just a bit more. When he judged himself the right distance, Torch snapped his wings open. The sudden capture of air made the Blue almost bounce upwards again, and soon he was just beneath Spunky.
Perfect. Spinning quickly around so he was upside-down beneath her, Torch stretched out his neck and just touched Spunky’s throat. He crooned softly, trying to portray his complete devotion to the Barred while they were so close together. But he couldn’t fly upside-down like this for long. Before falling behind and probably down, Torch gave his tail a flick and touched hers lightly, a hopeful little tap, a farewell if she decided not to choose him and a little taste if she did take him for a mate, then flipped over and let himself drift backwards.
Whatever the outcome of the Flight turned out to be, Torch wasn’t sure he would be too hurt anymore. Touching the beautiful Barred had left him feeling completely elated; win or lose, it wasn’t a feeling he would soon forgot. Almost caught in a dream-like state now, although he still followed and never ceased admiring Spunky, he chattered softly to himself about how great that had been.

First she had been only just beyond his grasp and then she had pulled back. In his surprise his head twirled around so that his eyes remained focused on her and found himself twisting in the air and lost the air from his wings. Indeed, if his panic had not forced him to right himself and open his wings he could have dropped possibly literally out of this race. Had he been any older a beast he might have also pulled a wing on his foolish stunt, he sure felt the strain in his muscles but powered on the make up for lost time.
He was hurt that she seemed to favor the browns over him. It was almost an insult! Had he not already showed himself stronger then the rest by managing a lead before she had startled him by falling back? Was his recovery nothing short but a combination of agility (and luck)? Well he wasn’t going to hold back any longer. With an ear splitting bugle he through all his strength and power into and all-or-nothing assault. Any sharding brown or pesky blue that got in his way would be sorry should they not move out of his way. He was going to make this catch and he was going to do it NOW!

Scuttle's wild vertical climb had taken its toll on him. He had almost no energy left and he was struggling just to keep wing for wing with the other brown. The old firelizard seemed to be tiring, as well, but he was still a rival, still could take the barred away from him! Spunky had fallen back, now! She was nearly level with him and the other brown, but she wasn't done, not yet! Her tail danced just out of his reach as she bugled. One more challenge, huh? He...didn't quite have the energy to...
But the other brown was moving off, doing some lame trick for her affections! The blue was too! This was perfect, he could just swoop forward and TAKE! With a wild trumpet he pushed forward with the last of his strength, all of his reserve energy went into speeding up and attempting to force the young barred to choose him, not taking any notice of the bronze who was nearly upon them as well, probably trying to do the same thing as Scuttle himself was. The brown would waste no more energy showing what he offered; he would take what he want! But could he? The barred still had enough room to veer away from him and choose someone else!

OOC: Okay. I lost all ability to decide, and you are all so awesome that I resolved this by a dice roll.
Surrounded! All three were worthy...both browns, the lovely bronze. Not the blue, but he was not close to her, and then Scuttle, too close, she wasn't ready yet...she veered away...
...but there was nowhere for her to go. Nowhere...no escape, and the sound that came from her spoke of everything of fear and desire...because she had, in her veering cut right across Tak's bows, right into the other brown's reach. Suddenly, she didn't want to escape any more, the lust finally overcoming the instinct that had driven her skywards as she fell into his grasp, her tail reaching for his. He'd do. He'd definitely do.

Tak snorted softly as the Bronze and other Brown both dove towards Spunky. Bah, they would only get in each others way! It was rude too, just attacking the female. He would win, but not by snatching her straight from the skies. She would want to be with him.
And hah, look at that! Spunky avoided both males, and that nasty little Torch, who took such liberties even when the Blue had no chance of winning the lovely Barred. Now? Escaping the other males had put her by him. Tak crooned softly as she let herself fall into him, and twined himself with the young female.
He had, of course, been the only choice; those other suitors obviously needed lessons in how to properly woo a female (although Torch would never have any chance). With Spunky securely against him, Tak took over their flight. He would make this worth the work they had put into the Flight. Ah, Tak was old, but he obviously still had it in him to win.
((Sorry about the failpost. xP Anyways, I'll message you now.))
