Lilac hummed as she ecstatically watched her little clutch of eggs. Ten perfect little beauties, her own lovely works, and now they were shaking. Oh yes, the babies wanted to meet their mother! They wanted to find Theirs, and most of all, they wanted to eat! The Violet was anxiously shaking almost as much as some of the eggs were, longing to see what had come of all her work. And where was the father? Soot was watching from a safe distance, but Lilac didn’t see her mate. No matter, he would show up.
As before, Kora was letting this be an open hatching. Whoever wanted to show up and try to get a fire-lizard could, and although there were almost half as many eggs as there had been in Lilac’s first clutch, the Weyrwoman was sure they would be good ones. Sired by a Brown, she doubted there would be any fire-lizards ranking much higher than that, possibly one or two small Tans, like there had been in Kelth’s clutch, but who knew? Fire-lizards, like dragons, always left room for surprises.
Nayarath hummed softly too, but also kept her distance from Lilac’s clutch. She didn’t want to be frightening people away from here, the Gold was looking forward to getting rid of all the eggs. She liked caring for her own, but didn’t like having another dragon raising eggs in her weyr. It just seemed silly, even if Lilac was family. As before, she sent out a summons to anyone who wanted to come. Little Lilac’s eggs hatch! Come, let’s be rid of them.
Lilac will love you for that, Kora told her dragon with a laugh. Nayarath rumbled softly then focused on the eggs again. They weren’t hers, they weren’t even dragon eggs, but they were hatchlings and she was explainably fascinated by the idea of hatching. Lilac was even more so though, and continued hovering over her wobbling clutch.

From where Voluspath and Brylorea were resting by the lake, the gold dragonet picked up immeditely on her mother's calling. The Weyrling sat up and hummed herself, both excited and interested in watching a spectical of dragon-kind birth.
BryMine, My mummy says that the Weyrwoman's firelizards eggs are Hatching! Would you like to go see? Voluspath asked, her eyes whirling merrily blues and greens. Her rider regarded the gold curiously, surprised that Voluspath would even be interested in firelizards after their...encounter with Aleyi and her gold Brooke.
"Are you sure you want to go? I could Impress one of them you know," Brylorea reminded the dragonet. The whirling of the gold's eyes seemed to slow down and she tilted her head to the side.
But you would like one. I can feel it. Why would you deny the opportunity to yourself? I think it would be interesting. I want to see what it looks like for things like me to be born. Voluspath responded in such a cryptic fashion that Brylorea frowned.
"Alright, then, we'll go. Where did Nayarath say this was happening?"
Kora's weyr. And Brylorea blanched. Oh, she had been wanting to speak with the Weyrwoman, but at a firelizard Hatching..Well, she wanted a flit, yes, but...ehh...Voluspath wouldn't hear no, however and butted Hers on the side.
"Alright, alright..." With that, the pair quickly made their way up to the Weyrwoman's weyr, conveniently located a short distance from where Bry and Voluspath currently were. They entered the living quarters and Brylorea felt a surge of insecruity; she shouldn't be here, not with Voluspath! She wasn't even sure if she could be a decent junior Weyrwoman and here she was, hoping to Impress a firelizard egg.
"Hello, Kora. We got your message..." She said timidly, approaching the Weyrwoman with a smile, Voluspath walking next to her.
From the Kitchens, bronze Weyrling K'ton had also heard the call about the firelizard Hatching. Luckily for him, Vikinth was happily asleep in their barracks, giving K'ton a few moments of free time. He had been snacking when he felt Vikinth awaken in his mind.
Mine, Nayarath said something about eggs Hatching. You should go see. The little bronze sounded so sleepy that K'ton was sure that this moment of disruption would only lead the dragonet back to sleep.
A flitter Hatching! That was certainly exciting! He'd always wanted a firelizard and now was his chance! The Weyrling bolted from his seat and tore off towards the Weyrwoman's weyr. Already, the gold Weyrling was inside. Lucky her! She must have already been talking to Kora or something when it started.
"Hey, guys!" He exclaimed, happy to experience the event with the two Weyrwomen. "I heard through Vikinth!"
It was clear from his tone of voice that he was still reveling in the fact that he was Impressed to a dragon.

There was absolutely no way that Guess was going to let B'can miss His Eggs Hatching.
B'can had, in fact, barely seen his brown until the day came, and then the proud father went between, appearing next to his human and chittering, projecting images of Kora's weyr.
"What is it, little one?"
Guess landed on B'can's shoulder, then took off, then hummed and projected eggy kind of images. "I don't need..."
And that was when the brown tugged at his hair. "Okay. Okay!"
He wasn't sure he wanted another firelizard, but the message was clear. Guess' human was going to watch Guess' eggs hatch. Or else.
Thus, the weyrling made his way quickly to Kora's weyr. "Great. Now I'll probably Impress one," he mock-grumbled as he walked in. "Oh, hi, Bry."
Maybe he could hide behind the gold weyrling? It was definitely tempting!
OOC: Impress him or not. Guess just wants to show off!

L'han was settling into his side job as weyrling assistent to the newest hatchlings, the 3rd clutch to be lain on Nyocia's sands. The tanrider had almost been with the weyr since the beginning, with the old queen bearing him his now life partner. Hmmm... I guess that means that there's been 4 hatchings.
Nayarath calls, she says the tiny purple's eggs are hatching Wuith suffled on his ledge, feeling softly the energy of the hatching. They were very small, of which there were few eggs and there was quite a distence from them. He would not hum, if only because the violet was not one of his queens.
An egg, a firelizard hatchling? More and more people were getting their hands on the little creatures, maybe he should too. Dropping his hide of notes he had been joting down for the upcoming class and strode outside to jump onto wuith's back for a quick drop off. The tan rumbled a greeting to the senior gold before moving aside to wait. It could be a while, maybe not.
"Good day Kora, Bry.... K'ton and.... B'can?" having a little trouble with the two young male riders names. None the less, they would have time to better meet their aquaintences when this was over.
_-_-_-_-_-_
Keloc rustled his wings, figiting restlessly. The blue's unusual actions drew Inolyn's attention but he was too distracted to give her much of an answer. Fire lizards are hatching, Nayarath has said so. Are you looking for another?
The posibility of another pet hadn't really crossed her mind. Keloc was the perfect companion, maybe besides Jorindath. Lizards and dragons were still a little different from one another. I think I'll go Inolyn made up her mind with a final thought. There was no certainty that she would be lucky to draw one's attention since the clutch was kept together and not seperated for privicy.
There were already a number of people here, but she didn't even know how many eggs there were to begin with. Keloc found himself a little corner to watch the hatching, chattering greetings to soot and lilac. There was still maybe a little more time at the rate the lizards hummed, but soon...

Kora glanced at Nayarath when she noticed Brylorea and Voluspath entering. The Gold looked over her daughter, inspecting her and obviously proud of her work. The Senior Queen seemed to be constantly switching off between being bothered by the idea of having another Gold in the Weyr and by simply adoring the idea, and right now was apparently one of those moments where she was very pleased to have a second of her color.
She looks a little frightened, Kora commented absently to her dragon, talking about the girl Voluspath had Impressed.
My daughter isn’t. Nayarath’s tone was vain and she rumbled softly as the newest Goldrider spoke to the Weyrwoman. Kora nodded to Bry, but was more interested in the young Gold.
“Voluspath is looking lovely,” she said. Her voice, influenced by Nayarath’s mood, was warm. “I guess you’ll Impress a fire-lizard the same way I did?” It was Nayarath who had convinced her to go see the fire-lizard hatching that ended her up with Lilac anyways. The Gold had only been a hatchling then, too.
A Bronze comes too, Nayarath told Hers, her gaze swinging towards the entrance of the weyr again. Kora looked over too and smiled slightly as K’ton entered; he sounded excited. “That’s good,” was all she could think of to say to him though. Plenty of people surely heard through their dragons.
Then came Guess and B’can, and Nayarath snorted softly as the weyrling rider greeted Brylorea but not the adult Gold and Weyrwoman. The boy didn’t look like he really wanted to Impress to Kora or Nayarath, but Guess definitely seemed excited, and his appearance distracted Lilac from her eggs for just a moment.
He had been fetching His! Lilac paused in her humming to chirp an excited greeting to Guess and then shifted over a little so her mate could get a good view of the hatching too. It didn’t take long for her gaze to be focused on the eggs again, and soon her hum was bubbling from her throat and getting steadily shriller as the eggs shook more violently.
The appearance of L’han and Wuith rather surprised Kora, she wasn’t sure how much the pair wanted to be around the queen that the Tan had almost caught. But here they were and that was good, it meant more people for fire-lizards to Impress to. She smiled at him while Nayarath glanced over Wuith, then went back to watching the eggs. There were cracks forming across the surface of a couple.
A small, very pale green muzzle forced itself through a small hole in an egg just as Inolyn entered, soon followed by a whole head with the small curls of violet just behind the eyes that meant Barred. The baby struggled for a moment, then finally the rest of the egg broke away from her and the Barred looked curiously around. She was hungry. Where was food? Something smelled very tasty… ah, there! She leapt towards the yummy smell, fell to the ground when her wet wings wouldn’t spread, but as soon as she collided with it scrambled towards her prey.
Moments later, small but sharp fire-lizard teeth came in contact with K’ton’s foot. Soot gurgled and glanced at Keloc, his eyes whirling happily at the mistake of the silly new hatchling.
A light Brown hatched from the next egg, and it didn’t really have any idea where to go. It scrambled out of the basin the eggs were in, flopped onto the table, then looked around nervously. While he was wondering, a Green hatched and poked her head over the edge of the bowl, but didn’t look quite ready to leave. She just watched her brother.
The Brown squawked with surprise when he saw a sister staring at him and leapt away. He apparently didn’t like being watched, for the next thing he came in contact with quickly became a hiding place. The Brown had landed on L’han’s arm, but quickly scrambled underneath the fabric of the Tanrider’s shirt to hide.
((Forgot to mention this in my first post, but Kora did put a bowl of meat out by where the eggs are for people to use if they forget to bring there own… and so far it seems everyone has, unless they forgot to mention too. :3))

Voluspath's tail was flicking and frolicking about merrily. She had all the pride of a gold, but here she was looking up at the great form of the dragon who Clutched her. For now, she merely reveled in her mother's presnce, delighted to actually around her dam mother.
Hi, Nayarath. Whaaatcha doin'? The gold Hatchling asked, bounding away from Her's side and approaching the older gold. Without waiting for a response she plopped herself down, hoping to settle herself against her mother's forelegs as she'd done when she'd Hatched. Her eyes were whirling in cheerful shades of blue and green and she was humming both with delight and acknowledgement of the immenent firelizard Hatching. It didn't matter to the dragonet that they were only flits, but were important to her as the first draconic Hatching she'd ever seen.
Watching her Voluspath, Brylorea smiled and almost nearly sighed with relief. Voluspath's mood was indeed affecting her as well and she was filled with calm and reassurance. She, apparently, had nothing to fear from her mother so then why should Bry be nervous in the presence of Nayarath's rider?
"Well, I'm doing the best to keep her neat and tidy-not that Voluspath would want otherwise," The Weyrling said, reflecting affectionately on the gold's vanity. "Heh, well, hopefully. Vollie just wanted to see them Hatch really and I've always wanted a flitter of my own I suppo-"
And just like that she was cut off; Voluspath looked up from where she was near her mother and her humming stopped abruptly. A flit had broke its shell! And it was a barred! Brylorea had always thought they were so pretty and would have hoped to Impress one of them, actually, if Voluspath hadn't taken over her life...Not that Bry minded, of course!
K'ton, too, seemed to be pleased and amused that a barred had broken her shell. They were very lovely looking creatures fully grown, or nearly grown, as he'd seen. She was such a light shade of green with a nice coloration of violet around her eyes. But he really didn't have all that much time to admire her as the flit vaulted! Before he could move aside, or move to catch the little thing, the barred had latched itself to his foot.
"It's got me, it's got me!" He squeaked in such a high pitched voice that he was sure only the Weyr canines would have heard him. Bending double, he gently grabbed the little firelizard by her sides and pryed her away from his foot. Why had she gone for that?
With a moment of inspection, he realized that he must have dribbled blood from a carcass he'd been carving for Vikinth's lunch. How wonderful...He didn't have long to ponder ways to keep his footwear clean as the barred was squeaking and squawking unhappily, demanding to be fed. If she couldn't have the big round thing, she was going to have something yummier in its stead!
"Here!" Bry said, reaching for a handful of meat that Kora had apparently left out for the event. Shoving it into the bronze Weyrling's fist she stepped backwards away from him, watching the other two flits Hatch themselves. A cute green and lightly colored brown, handsome!
The little brown apparently wanted the, judging by the knots on his shoulder, tanrider to feed him and Bry was sure Impression had been made. Easing away from him, too, but keeping a close distance to the rocking eggs, Bry finally had a chance to speak to B'can.
"Hey, you. Here for the festivities?" She asked him, gently, smiling at the older Weyrling.
And K'ton, busy with his hungry little barred, was completely lost to the world. Vikinth woke for the briefest moments, feeling another connection forming between himself and his rider.
What's that? Feels like a...a...GIRL! EEEEWW!!! Vikinth exclaimed.

B'can laughed. "Guess all but hauled me." He glanced at the eggs, glanced at the bowl, then grabbed a couple of pieces of meat, although he wasn't sure about trying for one. The brown and barred had Impressed, but there was a green.
"Nice babies, Guess."
Guess flitted back over to his mate, humming loudly and looking incredibly proud of himself. The best they could hope for was a tan, B'can thought.
A brown, a barred and a green... He settled down near Bry. "You should try to entice that green. She's cute."
Guess chirped at B'can, clearly instructing to try and Impress one of the firelizards. Silly brown. Did B'can -need- another one? Weren't there people without any who should have priority?
Still, he made himself comfortable. If one of them did decide to choose him, he was sure that at this point he could handle it.

Inolyn had at first thought that maybe the first hatchling, a little barred, had been looking for her since it fell from the table as she approached. It sadly wasn't meant to be, the creature demanding to be fed by the bronze weyrling who had broken her fall. Slightly disappointed she looked to the other eggs as the rocked and cracked. There were a few more where she had come from, as was the wishful thinking familiar to candidates of any kind.
That's the spirit, Inolyn Jorindath crooned, the violet as excitable as ever. No matter if she succeeded or not there was always something the dragon found to be proud of her rider.
L'han jumped, startled by the barred's fall. When K'ton picked her up she seemed to be unharmed by her escapade and allowed himself to relax. He had thought too soon, a brown streak diving under his line of sight and latched onto his arm and caused him to emit a loud yelp of surprise and pain. The lizard then clawed up his arm and into his tunic, a series of claw marks left to bleed in his wake.
Unable to stand the searing pain trying to spread over his body the tanrider took no time in trying to rip off the shirt and be rid of his unknowing assailant. The brown gave frightened chitters as he found himself tumbling through space blindly with his talons caught up in threads. Still, L'han knew better then to let the hatchling starve and especially when the others would gladly take him, even if it had all but stolen half his clothing. Placing the lizard filled garment on the table he uncovered the trapped brown and dangled a small chunk of meat in front of his nose. It was quickly inhaled and more was demanded as they both worked together to free him.
Small lines of blood were starting to run down his arm and chest from the multiple slight tears in his flesh. So far he had been quite lucky to avoid serious Threadsores, the scaring evident on his half exposed body but few could say they had been clawed by a fire lizard. This could be more trouble then it was worth.

Mine, mother Nayarath says there are little eggs hatching. Do you want one?[/color] Frithioth asked. He and S'bri were in the weyrbowl. Frithioth was sunning while S'bri practiced his juggling. Deftly, S'bri caught the balls and tucked them in his pockets.
If you're talking about fire lizards, I think I do, S'bri said, grinning. He had seen others with their flitts around the Weyr, and he thought they were charming creatures. It would be nice to have one of his own. Why don't you wait back at the barracks, and I'll be back as soon as I can, maybe with a new friend. He walked the young Tan to the barracks, then headed up to the Weyrwoman's weyr.
He arrived just in time to see a Tan rider being attacked by a brown. S'bri chuckled. The hatchlings must be really hungry. "Hello, Weyrwoman. Frithioth told me about the eggs. Do you mind if I try for one?" He asked Kora.

Nayarath looked down at Voluspath with vague surprise; none of her other young ever acted so relaxed, or excited really, in her presence. Whatever the young Gold thought though, Nayarath was still the higher-ranking queen and expected to be treated as such. But she did like her daughter and felt no desire to reprimand the child just now. She had a lot to learn, but this was a Hatching. Watching the little ones hatch, Nayarath replied to Voluspath’s question as if the answer wasn’t completely obvious. She rumbled at the sharp cry from the young Bronzerider when the Barred went to him, how silly t hear him squeaking like that over such a tiny hatchling! It’s funny how the humans react to such little creatures. The Brown that caused the Tanrider to rip his tunic off also struck Nayarath was very entertaining. A little blood was nothing strange for hatchings in the Gold’s opinion. Kora did not find that such a laughing matter though. “L’han!” She rushed towards the Tanrider with a worried expression. “Are you alright?” He was feed the little Brown, but he was also bleeding, and that wasn’t good. Her gaze flickered to one of the new weyrlings as he spoke to her and she nodded. "Of course," she replied quickly. "Anyone's welcome." Nayarath ignored her rider, instead glancing at Voluspath’s. You should keep Yours protected. She looked down at her daughter again. Growing up, Nayarath had never let anyone near her Kora. As the only Goldrider for several Turns, practically all the young Bronzeriders had tried to get Kora’s attention in some way or another. Nayarath had always protected her from every single one of them and didn’t like seeing problems with boys already arising with Brylorea. Especially from Tanriders. Mostly, she didn’t like the Violet’s clutch, and that boy was the rider of Apolloth, right? He seemed to Nayarath to almost be more vain than a queen. He would never be a worthy mate. Amid the distractions, a second Green broke away from her eggshell. She looked around uncertainly, then scrambled out of the bowl. She could smell food but, ah, there was another very large, curving surface in the way. She needed to find a helper. Who could that be? The Green leapt for Inolyn. The first Green to hatch was still crouching among the other eggs, apparently more interested in watching them hatch and Impress than doing so herself. Her gaze focused on an especially violently shaking egg, and soon that one revealed a Blue. Unlike the first male to have been stared at by the little Green, the Blue paid her no attention. Instead, he flung himself from the basin and decided to make an attempt at getting into the bowl of meat. A Barred hatched while her brother scrambled and sister stared, and sat up to return the Green’s unblinking gaze. The silver-green hatchling half-spread her wings as she sat among the shards, sand, and egg goo, waiting for them to dry. Then she would find food. ~~~ Salise edged into Kora’s weyr, a little unnerved by the apparent turmoil brought about by the hatching fire-lizards. When Artemisth informed her that Lilac’s eggs were hatching, the girl hadn’t been particularly anxious to go and make an attempt at Impressing… but Artemisth decided that they had to get one. And when the Barred decided on something, Salise didn’t have much say in the matter. She had gone to the kitchen to grab some meat scraps, accounting for why she had arrived a little late, then come here. Artemisth followed, but wasn’t sure she wanted to enter Nayarath’s weyr. So the Barred hovered anxiously just outside while Salise took up a spot near the basin full of wobbling eggs. It looked like three hatchlings had Impressed now, a Barred, a Green, and something wrapped up in the torn fabric of L’han’s tunic. Was he bleeding? Salise edged back a step, suddenly afraid of what the hatchlings would do to her. Other than the ones that had Impressed, a Barred and a Green were sitting among the eggs and a Blue was trying to climb up the side of a bowl full of meat, but was having little success. She watched him, unsure if they were allowed to just grab fire-lizards or had to wait for one to come to them. No one else seemed to be trying to grab the ones that were waiting… so she decided to just watch and hope a fire-lizard decided her appropriate.

Wuith flexed his claws in worry, feeling his rider's hurt but not the threat. It nearly confused him, but hatchlings were known to scared, violent or clumsy before Impression. Are you ok? The tan asked as he edged closer the the weyr and tried to see in. Faint streeks of yellow swirled in his eyes, but seeing his rider ok and the danger gone caused him to relax.
"I'm fine Kora, and don't be scared Salise," L'han said with a weak smile meant for both girl and woman. Taking a moment to inspect the damage he hissed slightly as he ran a finger over a cut. "Stings though, the little terror got me goo- Ow!" he said as the hatchling bit his finger while trying to grab the piece of meat in his other hand.
Not more then a tiny prick was left on his finger, which was no where as bad as some of the scratches. "Oh yes, wether causing it or full of it he's deffenately a terror. And that's going to be his name."
_-_-_-_
Inolyn smiled as the little green chirped at her, demanding to be fed. She was such a pretty little thing, a bold green color like a mature leaf on a tree. One of her hind legs however looked nearly black as did the last quarter or so of her tail. The first scrap of food was savagely devored as soon as it came close to her and a second followed in similar fashion.
Keloc chirped curiously from his spot with the other grown flits and flew down to the table for a closer look. After watching his feed the little one he picked a piece out of the bowl and gave it to the green, who by now the extent of her hungry was now waining. The hatchling had now allowed herself to be picked up but was still demanding as strongly as ever to be fed, expecially with two helpers now

Guess chittered at his human some more. And then, the brown picked up some meat from the bowl and dropped it halfway between the bowl and T'mar, perhaps trying to convince his blue son to go that way?
"Guess! You'll end up with it Impressing to you, not me, you silly brown!"
Guess just looked innocent. He wanted his human to look after -one- of his children, who could he trust more? A barred, a blue, and a green were still not Impressed, and Guess looked from one to the other. Somebody had to want to share the best human in all of Nyocia with him.
B'can finally just gave in and started laughing. "Okay, okay. I'll take one. Honestly...it's not like there's anyone here who wouldn't look after a firelizard!"
Such a silly brown, but he loved him almost as much as he loved his Apolloth.

Kora nodded uncertainly, but was not at all convinced by L’han’s words. His hiss as he touched one of the cuts and then the fire-lizard biting him did little to help. Nayarath commented that Wuith looked relaxed, hoping to draw Hers back to herself (having just warned Voluspath to protect her rider from Tanriders made it seem rather wrong to have her rider hovering over one), but Kora still wasn’t so sure. “I could help you with it…” At least clean and wrap up the wound, anyone could do that. Kora still worried about Wuith’s near loss too, and wanted to do something for the Tan or Tanrider, although as far as she could tell they were over it. Nayarath snorted at Hers. If Y’xem were here you wouldn’t be quite so anxious. Lilac paid no attention to Hers; eggs were still hatching and hatchlings were crawling around and the Violet was totally focused on that. Guess seemed to be flying around, trying to get the hatchlings’ attention, but she knew that Hers didn’t want another fire-lizard and didn’t tempt her young towards Kora. There were other people here who wanted them anyways. Two more eggs hatched now, revealing a pair of Blues. Hungry, both headed towards whatever food smell they located first, but when they reached the edge of the table got quite frightened by the sudden drop and started towards their secondary choice, the large bowl of meat. The first Blue, meanwhile, paused in his attempts to climb into the bowl of meat when his father rushed overhead and dropped meat before him. The hatchling started happily towards it, but a sudden flash of Green and the disappearance of the meat in front of him caused the Blue to pause in confusion. The Green that had spent so long staring at everything was now munching happily on the meat her father had dropped. Her lightning dash for it had sent her sliding across the table, meat clutched in her claws, but she had stopped before tumbling off it and now seemed quite content to devour her prize. As, perhaps, Guess had intended, it had brought her very near B’can. When she finished her first strip, she creeled to him, begging for more. The Blue didn’t take long to wonder about what had happened. Obviously, he couldn’t get into the bowl, and apparently his sister’s weren’t going to let him eat. He would just have to find someone else, like the other fire-lizards were doing. They were all being fed anyways. Someone was watching him, and she smelled of food… with a hopeful chirp, the Blue took off towards Salise. Observing this, the Barred only barely made it out of the way when a second Brown hatched and nearly walked over her as he headed for the food. Her hiss of surprise as she jumped out of the way made the Brown turn and give her a long look, but then he realized he was bigger and continued on his merry way. The Barred huffed softly and spread her now-dry wings, taking to the air to find someone who did care about her. It didn’t take her long for the Barred to settle onto S’bri’s shoulder as though she had always been meant to crouch there. She nudged his neck and chin, chirping loudly to get his attention. She was very hungry, and her siblings had been very rude! First that crazy Green staring at her, then the Brown walking on her! The Blue had totally ignored her! She wanted attention. The Brown, now out of the bowl, sat down on the table and gazed patiently around the room. There were quite a few giants about, although they looked somewhat similar to his siblings and parents, and all the creatures that were feeding them. Which one would feed him? Many of them seemed occupied. He cocked his head slightly to one side and chirped in a distraught manner, unsure of what to do. ~~~ Salise was quick to hold out a meat scrap to the little Blue when he flew towards her, and the newborn fire-lizard landed awkwardly against her chest before accepting the offering. Salise brought up her other hand to support the Blue and he happily settled into the crook of her arm to eat. A Blue? You should have gotten a Barred, like me. Artemisth poked her head into the Weyr and sniffed. I don’t think I had much choice. What should I call him? The Blue quickly finished off his first piece of meat and so Salise held out a second. Hungry, Blue, Squirm, I don’t know. It wasn’t a Barred, and Artemisth wasn’t particularly interested. Hers could call the flitt whatever she liked.

L'han's smile became gentlier and more genuine at Kora's fussing over him. It was her job to care for the riders of the Weyr but it was a little different when it was one on one. " If you could then you would save me from the lower cavern girls. Besides, I would like to put a shirt on before the young girls start thinking things they shouldn't."
A body tight with muscle and Thread scarring showed him as a fully fledged rider and a fine specimen of a male. He wasn't much older then many of the weyrlings he would soon be teaching, Bry being one of them at least. Wouldn't do to have the girls crushing on their teacher, he thought to himself smuggly knowing full well he was being airheaded.
Terror had calmed down now, curling up in the tunic to sleep. L'han wouldn't be getting it back any time soon without waking the brown up. "By the way, I would have thought Y'xem would have been released from the imfirmry by now. Im going to have my hands full as acting weyrleader in his absence and an assistent to the weyrling master."

B'can had been watching the blue. "You want tha...eep!"
The green had stopped staring, snatched the food from in front of the poor blue and then streaked right to B'can's feet. "Okay, okay." Well, having somebody female around wouldn't be such a bad thing.
"I thought you were going to stare at everyone forever," he said as he tempted her onto his arm with the meat. She was definitely a little smaller at hatching then Guess had been, but he could see a certain similarity in their proportions. Just something about the way the wingshoulders were set that, if one knew, made it clear they were father and daughter.
"Stare. I think that's a good enough name for you." She just kept eating, not really reacting beyond a faint chirp.
At least Guess had now settled near the eggs, regarding the humans. Wait, that goldrider his human so liked hadn't got one yet! He flitted over to Brylorea. "Guess..."
Oh well. If the brown wanted to manipulate the Impressions, he wasn't going to interfere. He just watched and kept feeding Stare. She *was* pretty.

Kora gave L’han a vaguely bothered look as he finished his comment, but didn’t say anything about it. “We can wash it and get it wrapped up, it’s not that bad anyways. Once the bleeding’s stopped I figure it will be fine.” She wasn’t a Healer, but this was a scratch from a newly hatched fire-lizard. His claws couldn’t have been contaminated with anything and they were too small to do bad damage, although there were plenty of little scratches.
“He’s been in and out.” Kora glanced at Lilac, but the Violet’s little hatching was nearly over and it didn’t look like the queen minded Hers getting distracted. Mostly, she didn’t know everything going on with Y’xem and Alduth. Nayarath had been irritated with the Bronze lately, and perhaps the idea that with the Gold’s next Flight, although that would be a while away, his time as Weyrleader might come to an end was keeping him somewhat out-of-it. “I’m sure you can manage though.” Kora smiled at L’han. “Hopefully Terror won’t be too much extra trouble.”
Only one more egg needed to hatch, and Lilac crooned happily when a dark green nose finally poked from a small hole in the eggshell. All her eggs had live hatchlings, and soon the final Green had struggled out of her egg and was making her way out of the basin.
The Brown finally located someone he figured could feed him, and scrambled from the table, flopped to the floor, and then rushed to Brylorea’s feet. After cheeping loudly to get her attention, he cocked his head and waited hopefully.
The larger of the two Blues still unimpressed made their ways to a weyrfolk that had walked in, a little meat clutched in her hands. The second Blue nudged his Green sister and they made there way to a boy that had squeezed in. (Yay for NPC’s =D)
((If you really want one of the last few flitters, I can always edit the posts so that some that went to NPC's go to your charrie's instead... but they gotta show up. Mostly, I think most players have plenty though. x3
ALSO: When you name your flitts, please post it in here or send me a PM so I can keep the Pets of the Weyr list updated.))

And I will see to it that he doesnt Wuith interupted. The little brown flitter would have to learn his place was below the tan dragon and that till he proved his usefulness he was for the moment just a pet. He had caused enough trouble for today and as long as he slept all should be well for now. L'han on the other hand sighed. "I have a bad feeling about this one, but its too late now... He is kind of cute though..." Yes, it was better to look at the positive side of the day. A brown was nothing to scoff at and now he had a fire lizard like everyone else. Scratches healed and pets could be trained, all it would take is a little work and it hadn't killed him yet! Looking back to the table all the eggs had hatched and the last few being fed by their new partners. "And its all over just as fast as it starts." Wether dragon, flitt or the whers that had hatched not long ago it tended to be the same. Wuith was long over his missed oppertunity for Pern's first tan sired dragon clutch, there was always a next time. _-_-_-_-_ Inolyn's little green was now satified, sides buldging but sleep didn't seem to be on her agenda. Carefully she had eyed the last few hatchings mencingly till then bonded with somone else, as proddy as a queen but she was far from one. Keloc had grown bored with her demands and would have sat on the violetriders shoulder not the little green berate him for not feeding her. Instead the blue had winked outside to wait with Jorindath. Inolyn's mind whirled though, she still needed to name her new friend. The only thought that came to mind was a rather obvious and brainless decision to name her after something green, but at least it had a nice little ring to it unlike grass or something. "I think you should be sleeping now, my little Leaf... Thank you Kora, I think I better be going." Turning to leave she started humming, softly singing a lullaby under her breathe... Time to sleep, now rest your head, Tomorrow is just another day. Fill your dreams with dragon wings, Till morning's first sun ray... ((I smell another Jenthy Original coming on!!!))

OoC: Sorry this is a little late xD
IC:
All the action had completely overwhelmed Brylorea, much as it had when she had actually Impressed her lifemate who was snuggled happily against her mother. She'd never actually heard of golds being, ah, friendly to one another aside from any kind of passing politeness. Well, Voluspath wasn't that long out of her shell and everyone took some comfort from their mother from time to time. With a small smile, she felt a small wave in her mind from the little gold and knew that this phase would indeed pass; in time, she would regard her mother only as another, competing gold for the affections of the bronzes and tans of the Weyr.
In the time it took for her to come to the realization, she heard small cheeps from around the area of her feet. Looking all the way down her long body, she saw a little brown something sitting on his haunches, forepaws resting on her shoe. At their eye contact, he began creeling, unhappy that she was merely staring at him rather than feeding him.
"Oh, shush, dear, I'm not going to neglect you," Brylorea said with a smile, scooping up the brown and reaching for the rapidly emptying bowl of meat that Kora had so wisely provided. The brown was ravenous, but it was nothing compared to how voracious her gold had been right out of her shell.
The hungry brown's eyes whirled faster, but with less hues of the reds of hunger. Promptly, Brylorea began stuffing the Hatchlings face. They passed the time in silence as the brown gobbled morsel after morsel of raw meat.
"This was a trip! I didn't think it'd be so easy to Impress to a firelizard! Vikinth was so different," K'ton said, clutching the sleeping barred to his chest.
Briefly, Brylorea looked over at the bronze Weyrling, placing a hunk of meat into her brown's mouth. "What'll you call her?"
K'ton, absentmindedly stroking the flit, looked up at Brylorea in surprise. They didn't name themselves, did they? That was right...
"Um...how 'bout...Naaru?" He asked, gazing down at the barred. She opened the second lid of one eye and peered up with him, chirruping, but K'ton noted, not in a bad was. "She likes it! What are you going to call yours?"
The gold, all the while, had watched the transation, saw as the brown approached Hers and offered its little brownie allegence. Pah! Why could a bronze have come her way? Voluspath couldn't associate with a brown! She had been about to squawk a reprimand to the little beast, but she felt the connection that formed between Hers and the little beast. An unhappy snort escaped her instead and she settled down against her mother, oblivious to what the elder gold had said previously.
It's stinky! I don't like it! She said unhappily to Hers, her eyes whirling reproachfully.
Brylorea, from where she stood, laughed and shook her head. "Stinky, huh? Not quite a nice name."
She paused, scratching the little lizard's eyeridges. At this angle, he looked just like a meatroll that had come right out of the ovens. All warm and poofy. His hide was a rather dark golden brown and his nose and tips of his tail appeared much darker.
"I think he a good fit would be Meatroll," She said, snickering.
That's silly.
