Tan wings furled slightly, as the great form of Apolloth made a somewhat tired descent into Nyocia's bowl.
The dragon even had a little bit of sweat on him. More of that came from his rider. It had been his own fault. Of *course* he could take that sweeps route...on top of all his other duties.
And Apolloth, of course, now wanted to go right to check on Jorindath.
"Go ahead and check on her, handsome, but then come back. You need a bath badly. I need a bath even more badly."
Apolloth rumbled, lifting off again towards the hatching grounds.
B'can would be rather glad when the eggs hatched and his dragon was not worrying about fatherly duties. Of course, he was curious to see what would come of them. Hopefully not too many charcoals, which all seemed to be surly.
He moved over to the nearest rock and sat on it. "Remind me never, ever, again to volunteer for anything without asking what it is first."

Esskin was wandering through the weyrbowl, looking for people to help. He was glad that he had been assigned general Weyr chores, instead of something boring like washing dishes. This way, he got to meet riders and their dragons.
He looked up when a dragon appeared in the sky. Esskin recognized the father of the clutch now on the sands. Apolloth, was it? He stopped to admire the dragon's descent into the Weyrbowl. He flew towards the sands, and Esskin guessed that he was going to check on the clutch. He grinned. What a dutiful father!
Esskin waited for the rider to get settled, then trotted over to the rock. "Hi there!" He said cheerfully. "Do you need assistance with anything? I'm to help riders with anything they need."

B'can shook his head. "No, I don't need anything right now." The rider, however, did not seem about to move right now. His dragon had already gone.
"You're a Candidate, right?" B'can was paying far more attention to the current batch than he ever would normally. Apolloth was insistent on the matter.
The tan was rather disappointed he would have no say in who bonded his children, but that did not mean he could not assess the *overall* quality of the Candidates.
Sigh. "Actually, there is something. Could you run to the kitchens and get me some juice? Any kind...I really don't care."
He *was* thirsty, now he thought about it. He'd have got it himself, but he was tired and the Candidate was right there.
