Oh I cannot tell you to make up your mind
And gather together the best of your kind
Little is known about the origins of planet Beest and its inhabitants. However, the existence of several structures across the planet resembling Stonehenge and the ziggurats on Earth, as well as the genetic links between the species of Beest and those of Earth being too close to be coincidental, has led scientists to speculate that the world was terraformed by an unknown alien race for unknown reasons. It is postulated that more would be known if the temples were more closely investigated, but the natives consider said temples sacrosanct and the intrusion of outsiders is forbidden.
The prophets have spoken the word of ill fate
Your childhood has ended, you’ve taken the bait
Still bitter from the memories of Alligatoron’s harsh rule, most of the species have secluded themselves away from the others, living in tribes and clans. Much of the technology introduced during the tyrant’s rule has been shunned by the outer regions, though some central cities continue to seek technological advancement. Welcome to Belexes, one of the more primitive--and violent--regions. Three clans--Moon’s Call of the wolves, Crossed Feathers of the eagles, and Pride’s Paradise of the lions--have lived in relative harmony for decades. But the balance is threatened by the immigration of a rowdy gang of gators calling themselves the Sharpscales. They trust nobody, and nobody trusts them.
You’ve got the power, it’s there deep inside
Just look around and you’ll know what you’ve tried
If your character is ten years or older, you may apply to have powers based off fire (pyroknesis, not fire generation), water (water control and sometimes healing powers), or earth (geomorphic abilities). These are not powers that a Beest gains instant mastery over the day they wake up with them. Usually it begins with being able to sense a natural proclivity towards one of the three elements, and with much training, they can gain limited control over the element. Powers will be regulated, but we’ll try to keep anyone from getting overly powerful like some comic book characters.
So much relies on the course that you take
The Fool and the Wise Man both burn at the stake!
Enter Vicious Circle at your own peril.
