Jorindath had been in a very good mood since meeting all the candidates, though it had pointed much playful criticism at her. Herding the young people around the clutch had been unheard of, many times the gold had even needed to placed aside so not to snap or strike out at one wrong move. She had always been a strange violet queen, now was no different then any other time. Many changes had happened to Pern, the actions of one dragon wouldn't change things. Jorindath wasn't even a senior queen.
It was just past dawn, the first rays shinning into the caverns large entrance. The great violet mother was already awake, tending the eggs as Inolyn stirred from her place among the stands. It was apparently a queenrider habit to stay in the hatching grounds while there was a clutch, then why hadn't a place been made for them? The stone was cold and hard and every morning she woke stiffer and more weary then the day before, but it still beat frying on the sands. Many times she wondered why she put up with it and not her nice warm bed, maybe next to B'can, but every night she came back.
Combing her hair with her hands as she checked her dragon, she wondered what was being served for breakfast. Jorindath had an egg sitting between her forelegs, licking it clean of dust and dirt. There was nothing to worry about, walking out with a big yawn. Moments later she had sat herself down in front of a nice big bowl of porridge, well drizzled with honey. Its warmth and flavor re-energized her nearly immediately as it touched her tongue. Eager for another bite but her spoon stopped before entering the bowl. It took her a moment before the feelings of her firelizards hit her too, leaping to her feet and ran across the room.
"IT'S TIME!!!"
Jorindath was humming proudly, the egg she had earlier been cleaning now twitching with movement. Many other soon joined in and the violet began to roam between and around them, as if trying to determine which one would hatch first.

Meagen was awake - she was awake more then often lately. Once again she and Toath had lost a suitor. It seemed that loneliness - was for them and the firelizards. Hope had clutched - and hopefully it would result in gorgeous children. Speaking of her firelizards - they were humming. A birth? A Hatching... A Hatchign!?!
She busted from her work bench and slipped into her clothes. her riding clothes - it looked more professional. Toath - alert the Weyr, and make sure the candidates know. I don't know if Jorindath has sent out the alert yet. She exclaimed to her dragon as she busted down the stais of her weyr - towards the candidate barracks. As she ran down there she almost barreled into the Harper - Angelischiel was is? Yes, it was. Girl looked fresh from a bath - probably had just gotten back from training and then bathed. "Go get your rovbe on - it's time!" She snapped at the girl.
She busted into the Candidates barracks - starting on the female side. "All ya'll get your lazy bums up! Hatching's happening! Get your butts up now! Robes on, and when you are done line up at the entrance to the sands." She stated as she grinned at all the sleepy faced females. Then she raced over to the males side and repeated it. "Come on you lazy bums, hatching time!"
Toath stretched out yawning rather wide - his eyes whirling with a lazy color. A hum starting in his throat. Dragons of the Weyr, it's time to get our guests... our lovely violet's clutch - is hatchign! he called out to all the lower ranking dragons. They had their assignments of important people to pick up. There was a rustling as the Weyr came to life.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Angelischiel was soaked with sweat- when she got to the bathing chambers. She was restless the whole time she bathed - and when she left the chambers she found out why. She had almost run into the Candidate Mistress - who exclaimed the hatching was happening. She gasped in surprise as she bolted forward - her eyes focused before her. She raced into her room - just as the woman started yelling at the other girls.
She threw her robe on over her breat band and undergarments - and then she pulled on her sandals. She ran out of the barraks and lined up at the hatching sands entrance. Just as Meagen was coming towards her. She heard the Candidate master say the following words:
"Bow to the Queen, and make a semi-circle around the eggs. If a dragonet is racing towards you - it's best to get out of it's way - if you can."
Angel nodded and stepped unto the sands - head held high as she walked towards the queen. She bowed and then straightened her eyes flashing with excitement. A small wave was directed at the queen - as she let a smile quirk her lips.
Apolloth's first reaction to the hatching was not to hum...he needed his breath for the short flight from his ledge to the hatching grounds.
Once there, the tan dragon settled down at the edge of the Sands, crooning to his mate before joining her in the sound that welcomed dragon babies to the world.
Ahem. Apolloth?
My eggs are Hatching!
Ahem. Forget something?
Mine?
Still standing on the ledge, B'can rolled his eyes...and started to make his way to the Sands the slow way...his dragon not having even thought of waiting for him.
Dragons. Love them, hate them, but they certainly did not make his life *boring*.
--
Karisna pulled on the robe quickly. She'd actually practiced it a couple of times...she didn't want to get tangled up. Or, worse, tear her robe.
She was pretty sure that the Candidatemaster would cheerfully boot her out onto the Sands in clothing she didn't know was that revealing.
Robe. Sandals. And then she was...she didn't run. She walked as quickly as she could without running...light on her feet as she was, she *also* did not want to fall flat on her face on her way to the Hatching Sands.
She listened. Okay. Bow to the queen and be ready to dodge clumsy hatchlings. She remembered that from the instruction, and she sort of fixed it in her mind.
Shards. Half of Pern was in the galleries! As she stepped out, she was keenly aware that the Stands were full enough already and filling up as blue and green and barred dragons deposited those they were conveying to the Weyr. Her own kin were up there somewhere, she knew, but she had no chance of picking them out of the crowd.
Instead, she bowed to the violet queen, and spared a slight nod-bow for the tan dragon she knew was the father of this clutch. She saw, oddly, no sign of the tan's rider. Maybe he had decided to stay in the slightly cooler galleries.
There was heat, and there was sound. And there were...moving eggs. "This is one dramatic way to enter the world," she mused.
Transiit was sitting up on her bed when she heard the candidate masters voice echoing around the barracks.
"All ya'll get your lazy bums up! Hatching's happening! Get your butts up now! Robes on, and when you are done line up at the entrance to the sands."
Hatching
Surprisingly enough, she got her robe on easily enough, she wasn't going to waste time getting her robe on... It was loose and flapped in the wind as she ran to the entrance of the hatching grounds.
She saw the violet queen and gave a quick bow. Whilst listening to the candidate masters advice...
The eggs were shaking. And Transiit was ready. ____________________________________________________
Jekel was just lying on his bed when he too, heard the candidate masters call. He heard it faintly at first as it was relayed to the girls side and then louder as Meagen shouting in the boys direction. He looked around looking at Wulfe.
"Hurry up Wulfe, get your robe on..."
He didn't wait to see if Wulfe actually followed his advice although he assumed he had. Whipping on his robe and bolting out the door he was yelling at the other boys in case the ones further away hadn't heard...
"HATCHING IS HERE!!! COME ONE GUYS"
He yelled that about three times before running off to the sands...
I can't believe the hatching is actually here
When he got there he gave the violet queen a smile, but then turned his attention to the eggs...
Miri looked up in surprise. Hatching? THE Hatching?! She bolted up from the floor where she'd been playing a little game, and snatched up the white linnen robe from where it was neatly hung over her chest of things. She pulled it on quickly, after dealing with a twist-up, and sped out of her room and towards the hatching grounds. She entered, and stepped into the hot sand, a huge smile on her face. She bowed towards Jorindath, the violet queen was a very good mother dragon, and a queen!
Now what?! She paniked, but she did know what to do.
---------------------------------------
Steven's Meril chirped at him, and began to hum, and he stood up so quickly he got a bit dizzy. He understood the color in her eyes, as well as what that humm meant! It's Hatching time! Steven pulled on his white robe, and grinned when he noticed it was the same white as his pants. With the green Meril flying ahead of him as *escort*, Steven ran as fast as he could to the sands where the eggs were beginning to shake and crack...
His eyes drifted to a large egg which looked like a bronze..... He new that there was his life mate there and he couldn't wait for it!
He bowed to the Queen and stood in the semicircle and gave a slight smile to the weyre woman. This is it he thought this is it!
Jorindath was aware of the gathering people, but she ignored all but her rider who try as she might could not pull her from the hatching eggs. One cracked loudly and the violet weaved to sit by it. With a few violent shakes a piece flew free and the first hatchling struggled onto the sands; a fine bronze!
Struggling to regain his composure the little bronze pulled himself to his feet quickly, only to be knocked back down by the tongue of his towering mother. The bronze bugled loudly, angry at his rough treatment. "Leave him alone! He needs to Impress!" Inolyn yelled, slapping her dragons side. Jorindath finally seemed content to leave the eggs, wanting to watch the many hatching eggs about to break shell and moved aside. Left to pick himself up again, the little hatchling held his head high. He was first and all the attention was on him, and as much as he would have loved to trot around in the glory something itched in his mind. He had to find something...someone... someone here! A small rumble quivered through his belly and his mind was made up, he must find this someone!
Galloping over to one boy he stopped short and bounded away, just to repeat the process to another. No, no, NO!!! Where was he! Looking ripe to throw a tantrum as he rejected his 5th boy by kicking up sand, he let out a sad bugle. In his sadness though a small whisper echoed in his mind, full of love and sympathy. There he was! Racing around the circle he tried to follow the trail of thoughts and ran straight in to Jekel.
J'kel! J'kel! Why were you all the way over here? It was so hard, but Kulith found you!
Jorindath rose back onto her hind legs, bugling loudly in her pride that her first hatchling and son had chosen so well! Her celebration cut short as more hatchlings began to spill on to the sands. Two browns had emerged wet and on awkward legs, much to the approval of the crowd. The hatching first of the larger dragons was always seen as good omen for the clutch, but many were confused that none of the new strange colors had emerge like in Kelth's clutch. Ignoring these many criticisms the smaller of the browns have trotted off straight to his boy, seeming to know exactly who he wanted. The larger however took a few more moment to work out his feet, having had tripped over his wings as he hatched. Now however he was fine, and with a little snort left the shards of his egg behind him.
W'lfe... what a strange sounding name but I like it. W'lfe and Raselth
Dragon - Bronze Kulith Appearance - A medium sized bronze he always likes to try and puff himself up to look bigger. A typical color of bronze with a darker tint on the tip of his tail and jet black claws, he is quite an handsome beast. Personality - Self obsessed and greedy, Kulith loves to be the center of attention and is full of fool's pride. He always wants to be first and thinks he knows everything, but as many times he's right he tends to be wrong. He is a strong willed dragon however and some cant help but follow him. color code - C58917
Dragon - Brown Raselth Appearance - A large dragon, when he hatched he was a little misshaped with a large barrel chest and over sized wings. However he will balance out in time but his wings will always remain slightly too big. The color of healthy tree bark he has a splattering of white spots under his chin and on his right hind foot. Personality - A patient brown, he will never act before thinking and can never be rushed. For a dragon he seems to have a lot of common sense and acknowledges the good and bad sides to everything. His rider will always come before everything, but nearly always he will put others before himself. Color code - 7F462C
Angel watched the first hatching - it was a wonderful sign. A bronze was a blessing on pern. They needed as many as they could get. Then as the bronze stumbled around - and picked his bonded... two browns hatched. Gorgeous creatures - but her eyes scanned the other eggs. She was not for one of them - she was different then the sort of girl that would impress them.
Toath often commented to her about how controlling she was. he said that were she his bonded - he'd be driven absolutely mad. She tended to spend a lot of time helping the Candidate master learn how to fight. The process was long and difficult but the woman had told Angel her story - and the Harper could only oblige to aid.
The bronze, and a Brown impressed. Fear and elation filled her - but she put a tight control on herself and allowed the process to go normally.
When the bronze cracked shell, Apolloth stopped humming and bugled. By this point, B'can had slipped onto the Sands to join his lifemate.
In fact, he arrived just in time to be all but deafened by the tan's enthusiasm. "I know. A bronze. It's awesome, but please spare everyone's ears."
Apolloth actually managed to look sheepish and go back to humming, but he was clearly absolutely and utterly smugly proud of himself, which led the stocky rider to grin broadly. He sort of knew the Candidate names. The bronze went to J'kel and then two browns. All three were now successfully Impressed.
"All looking good so far."
--
Karisna blinked a bit as the bronze hatched...and a loud bugle filled the Hatching grounds. Seemed the sire of the clutch was *entirely* too pleased with himself.
Bronze first was good look for the Weyr, too, she knew. It also was not, could not be, her dragon. She did not exactly ignore it as it sought its rider, but her attention was drawn to the second dragon to crack shell.
She *might* Impress brown. It was possible. Ooh...another brown. One of them was padding straight towards one of the boys. The other had got a bit tangled in himself as he left his egg. She turned her attention to that one, knowing that nothing she did or did not do could draw a dragonet to her. She'd touched all of the eggs, albeit briefly, introduced herself to all of them.
That was what would increase her chances, not anything she did now.
She did not really know, if she admitted it, what color dragon she might bond. She still thought barred or green more likely, but the brown was a possibility her mind was open to. They were small and awkward and even...cute. No...not to be. He headed for an older boy, and Impression was clearly made.
Three of eighteen and none had even looked at her...the bronze would not, and both of the browns had clearly decided they wanted boys.
Esskin grumbled when the Candidate Master ran in to wake them up, starting to pull the blankets over his head. Then he realized what was going on and felt completely awake. Jumping out of bed, he pulled on his white robe and followed the other candidates to the sands.
He bowed to Jorindath and joined the other candidates around the eggs. Esskin found that he couldn't stand still, and he kept shuffling back and forth and fidgeting with his robe. Finally, the tension broke when three eggs hatched. Two browns and a bronze. That was a good start to the clutch. Wasn't a bronze hatching first supposed to be good luck? He chuckled when Jorindath licked the hatchling, keeping him from getting to the candidates, just like any overprotective mother. The two males Impressed, and Esskin looked at the eggs, wondering which would hatch next.
Miria took her place in the semi-circle about the shaking eggs, and smiled nervously to the candidates next to her. She tryed to stand straight and tall, but she was so excited! Just when the wait for something to happen began to get unbearable for her, a bronze hatched, followed closely by two brown brothers. That's a good sign! Miri thought A bronze as the first dragon, and he impressed right away- as soon as Jorindath let him, of course! One of the browns had impressed, and she didnt know if the other had yet... but she was waiting for a dragon that would be her lifemate... with barely concealed excitement.
-------------------- Steven looked over at the other end of the semi-circle and grinned when he noticed his older sister attempting to hide her enthusiasm and keep her composure. He was excited, all right, and his mind was hopping around and jumping around and grinning from ear-to-ear, but he kept his composure, and only that grin touched his face. his eyes were bright and shimmery with his thoughts. He wondered what dragonet would hatch next!
((IMPRESSION!!!))
Jekel wasn't really surprised when the mother started, er, mothering her eggs. Although He didn't really know much about a dragon hatching but he was getting a little worried when the little bronze couldn't fin who he was looking for. He had started on the opposite side of the circle to Jekel and was running frantically down the line getting more and more frustrated when he couldn't find who he was looking for...
But Jekel was the most surprised when the bronze stopped at HIM!
J'kel! J'kel! Why were you all the way over here? It was so hard, but Kulith found you!
Well, I am sorry about that next time I shall keep it in mind to be nearer to you...
You should.
Well then, to make it up to you, shall we get you some food?
Yes.
And together they waddled unsteadily off the sands. Jekel, the now J'kel swelled with pride. ____________________________________________________
Transiit watched as J'kel and his bronze waddled off the sands and watched as the two browns made their choice. She was watching the other shaking eggs trying to determine which ones would hatch next...
Come on guys... HATCH
Although they were probably hatching as soon as they could but Transiit is not a very patient person...
The eggs werent done yet, and as if responding to the hopes of the candidates many more cracked, some even moving in they're violent struggling. In a mighty explosion of shell a tan chittered as he righted himself on his feet. He was a big hatchling and promised to be quite strong as he flapped his wings dry and looked to the candidates. The sandy colored hatchling didnt seem to have much thought for the candidates as he nearly trampled a boy and a girl ducked quickly out of the way, a flick of his tail delt a hard blow to an unwary candidate in his wake. Reaching out his nose he gave a sharp jab to Steven.
S'ven! Stop running away stupid, your Turath is hungry!
While many had been focusing on the tan's march a dark little egg crack its shell and a little green spilled onto the sands. She gave a little stretch, he body feeling slightly cramped after her long confinment within her hard shell. Her egg wet hide made her look as if she were nearly a sparkling emerald, but the heat was quickly drying up the illusion. Her steps were very cute, almost prancing and she made her way around her hatching brothers and sisters to the people. They were waiting for her!
Karisna caught her attention for a moment, causing her to stop and look for a moment. Her large eyes swirled excitedly but it was over in a few moment when she relised this was not what she was looking for and pranced off. It was only a few moments more before her prancing steps turned to joyous bounds, I am here! I am here! E'skin you waited for me and now i'm here! Can you please feed Carath now?
A blue and Charcoal hatched at the same time, eger to join there brothers and sister in choosing they're person. The charcoal had face planted into the sand, and iritatedly was trying to wipe it off with a paw. It was itchy! Itchy was not good! Like those before him of his color he was showing the trademark temper, roaring as loud as his little voice would let him. With a snort he looked around, one of these things would get it off! And while they were at it they could feed him! His eyes met with a boy. Yes, he would do, and the charcoal scampered over to Impress.
The blue however just sat and watched his brothers display, it was hard not to with all the noise he was making. When finally the charcoal shut up and went off to impress did he give a dragon shrug and walked in the opposite direction. Not any one would do, silly charcoal. It had to be someone special, someone just for him. But he knew already who he wanted and it was someone special. The thought of finally meeting her filled him with such joy, already he mind reached for her from halfway across the sands. Wait for me Raiin! One of my brothers or sister might hurt you if you run out, your Xoath will not let them hurt you!!
Dragon - Tan Turath Personality - He knows what he wants, when he wants it. Turath is quite a short tempered tan, not very forgiving for those who stand in his way. Considering his size, this also means literally as well asmentally. However he does have the capabilities to be nice and generous, mostly however when it benifits him most. Description - A sandy colored tan, he is quite large and strong tan. Darker on top and lighter underneath, his wing sail turn nearly white when fully stretched out . color code - ECD672
Dragon - Green Carath Personality - Carath feels as pretty as she thinks she looks which means she likes a clean hide. Her actions and movements change depending on her mood. When she is happy she will be bouncy, when she is sad she will nearly slither across the floor, and when she is content she is graceful. She is a bubbly and kind hearted dragon, quite generous and forgiving and nearly impossible to offend or upset. Description - A bold and lovely shade of deep green its no wonder Carath thinks herself pretty. Her talons are marked with streaks of yellowy-green and the ridges that run down her back are almost black. color code - 348017
Dragon - Blue Xoath Personality - He doesnt like pointless things, but many times these things will spark his curiousity. Xoath likes to feel like what he does has importance, no matter how small. A hard working blue with a gentle soul, he will make a fine addition to the fighting wings. Description - A bright shade of blue he is a fairly large blue, slightly above average. The tip of his left wing is nearly white but apart from that marking it is about the only thing that tells him apart from other blues. color code - 2B60DE
Angelischiel watched first the hatching of the tan. She watched slowly as the tan chose his bonded. It was obvious this clutch knew exactly what they were doing. She watched as a green hatched and made her way straight to the males. Then there was a blue and a charcoal. The charcoal impressed to some boy and the blue to one of the girls. A small and wry smile passed over the young woman's features.
Up in the stands she heard the cheering. From her siblings, and her mother. As well as her stepfather. Then she saw out of the corner of her eye - a man she hadn't seen in ages. Her father - whom had apparently heard through the grapevine that she was here. Her heart rose in elation - she knew how much it had costed her mother's health to get here. She had to do her proud! She had to protect the people she loved.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Morriamia and Rurith watched the hatching unfold. It was rather sweet how another blue had chosen a girl. You didn't see that too often these days.
~~~~~~~~~~
Meagen stood by watching as her candidates all impressed. She sat on a ledge now - next to Toath - with her fair all around her. her eyes scanned the crowd for who she knew.
~~~~~~~~~
Nixsha had come to the hatching - as she had come to hatchings everytime before. She sighed softly as she looked over the hatching. Her own fair of flitters had joined the hatching humming. She herself stood nearby with her healers kit. She had her mind closed as tight as she could - so she couldn't hear a single thing the dragons said.
Sometimes - she wished she had never been born with this ability. The ability to hear the voices - hear the love. Never to experience it because she had pushed her healing so hard. But she was coming to realize that what happened happened. She was growing older - perhaps a Wher? They didn't seem like they were that bad - and she was becoming rather nocturnal anyways.

A tan...and such a handsome fellow, only a little darker than his unusually pale sire. But Karisna was very glad she was nowhere near that one. Steven...S'ven now...would have his hands full. She glanced at the clutch sire, taking a moment to compare the two dragons.
You could definitely tell, yes, that those two were father and son. Including something about their attitude and...oh, hey, there was a green. For a moment, their eyes met, then the small emerald dragon pranced off to somebody else. For a moment, she felt a pang of disappointment. None of the male dragons had considered her, and the green had rejected her.
A charcoal, to a boy she did not know, and a blue to Raiin. Somehow, that did not surprise her.
There were still quite a few eggs left, "Only one female dragon so far. There's something odd about that." Maybe the next four to hatch would all be greens and barreds, evening it up.
There seemed to be, certainly, no pattern to the colors. She watched, for a moment, the green with the boy she had bonded to.
Plenty more clutches, she told herself, forcing herself back into the open but not desperate mindset she was seeking to demonstrate to the dragonets. She wanted them, but she did not want them to the point of pain and heartbreak. That would be foolish.

Steven saw the fierce tan hatchling making a beeline towards the area he was standing, and moved out of it's way. He completely didnt expect thte annoyed voice that touched his mind. S'ven! Stop running away stupid, your Turath is hungry! Steven--- S'ven gaped, staring into the whirling eyes of the Tan who was speaking to him, not even noticing that 'his' tan had called him stupid, not even noticing the slight pain in the arm Turath had given him. Come ON, Mine! I am hungry! You must feed me! Turath demanded of His. <Turath?! Oh- OH! okay, come one Turath, lets go get you some food.> S've snapped out of it, a huge grin on his face, as Turath led him to the food.
----------------------- Miri laughed when she saw S'ven's expression after he Impressed. obviosly Turath was already a handful, based on the way it was the dragon leading His to the food, not the other way around! Miri scanned the eggs, smiled when she saw Esskin and raiin impress as well, and was surprised that raiin had impressed a blue- rare, that was. I'll congratulate them after... she thought absently. Miria was searching for her lifemate- right now she was jealous of her brother and friends. J'kel and his Bronze seemed to be blissfully happy, and the others who had Impressed as well. She focused on the eggs again, waiting and hoping....

The ball was rolling now and you didn't know which way to work, the hatchling almost appearing out of thin air since ou couldn't watch them all. Another brown hatched and nearly mauled a boy who tried to stop him from reaching his who stood beside him, nothing would stop him from Impressing. Had it not been for some quick thinking from the Impressee, the deseprate candidate might have had had more then a bad bite to deal with. Another Tan, this one a near perfect minature of his father, tried to slip by unnoticed when he impressed nearly instently.
A hatching that recieved much attention though was a little blue, for his markings were quite strange. For the most part he was pale like a sky just after dawn, but the large darker splatterings across his chest and front legs made it look like he had just knocked over a bowl of blue paint. He let out a lazy yawn as he sat in the reminants of his shell before Jorindath nudged him to move on. The people didnt want to wait, they wanted to know who he would choose! But how would he know? It was so loud, so many different emotions! He couldn't hear properly, shaking his head he wondered aimless. He bumped in another egg before stumbling back and looking around again, desperate for help. Help me! I'm Lost! I can't find... find... oh wait! Stay there! I can hear you!
Silly dragon, over thinking! He was listening too hard when he knew all along who he needed. K'rean! Its much too loud here, can you please take me somewhere quiter? I am Straith!
A Larger egg had been sitting quite still, many were starting to believe the poor hatchling inside too weak or small to break the shell. Wouldn't it have hatched already if it was strong and healthy? A few hopefuls mermered it was because it was a queen egg, they like to hatch later in the clutch. Against everyone thoughts though a foot nearly shattered the entire egg as if i was no stronger then glass. Many jumped to call him tan, a few questioned gold, but then they saw the metalic green sheen and they all stopped confused. Was he something new? Smaller then his brother bronze and tans but larger then the browns but he was a perfect hatchling non the less and caused another stir as he looked to the crowds in the stands. Many dreaming Weyrbrats left there places to run closer but it was for nothing, he was merely looking.
The sands was covered in shards of shell, maybe he had waited too long? It didn't matter, no one cared as long as he hatched and Impressed. In his mind he could hear the chittering of those before him eating, caressed lovingly by the people they had chosen. It was time to join them, he was hungry! Many girls stepped aside, knowing he must be heading for the boys but his claws rached out and snagged Angelischiel's robe.
Enough playing around I guess, its time to go. A'schiel? Ang'iel? ...No, you are Angel and I am Razuth!
Dragon - Blue Straith Description - A pale, icy blue. Many dark patches coat his chest and part of his neck like he played around in paint but he doesn't notice them nor care about them. Even his claws tned to have a blue shine to them. He is a perfect little blue, smaller then average Personality - He's a thinker this one, but because dragons act on instinct rather then brains he mostly gets confused unless his rider helps him. However he is a sweet dragon and very helpful to any who ask him for help. color code - 79BAEC
Dragon - Bronze Razuth Description - Many dont think he is a bronze, for his hide is much to pale. However the green shine of bronze is there, and his hide will darken a little in time. A little on the smaller side, his long tail makes up a little for what he lacks in hieght. Personality - Like many bronzes he thinks big of himself, but he's a little different. He likes to bend words to his liking so he can be free to do as he pleases. Indeed, he Impressed a female so what more evidence is needed that this bronze might be a problem? color code - FFE87C

Angel watched the procession of the hatching. Standing amongst her other candidates she had a sort of cool that belied any truth to what she was feeling. She watched a brown - and then a tan. A blue... all moving across the sands. They found their chosen bonded and all seemed to be going very well. Then the female felt the world come to a screeching halt - her world filled her vision in only a minuscule way.
Everyone was focused - breath held - on the egg that was believed to be a Queen egg. She heard her youngest sister - merely six turns old - gasp in excitement as the color was revealed. She heard her brothers murmuring about which of the male candidates the bronze would go to. Her stepfather shushed them all - and then the world narrowed further.
A murmured started as the male headed straight through the female candidates. The other girls getting out of the way as fast as they could. But her robes got snagged by his claws - just as she was about to move out of the bronzes way. She heard her little sister scream in fear - and her mother shushing her. A gasp left the crowd and a few others as the rainbow color of impression swirled in the bronzes eyes.
What in the world was... -
Angel was swept up into the most loving emotion she had ever felt. Enough playing around I guess, its time to go. A'schiel? Ang'iel? ...No, you are Angel and I am Razuth! The bronze exclaimed in a sharp and rather soothing tone. It was odd to the Harper - staring at this bronze. "Razuth..." She repeated as she stared - for the first time in her life - dumbly at someone.
Her eyes looked up as she looked over at the whole of the Weyr. She was so confused - a bronze, had impressed to a girl. Times change, those old birds need to shut up. You're mine, and I am yours. Now Angel-mine, take me to food. he exclaimed in a very bronze like manner.
The girl just stood there staring at the hatchling. What was she to do? The true amount of confusion that swept over her was crippling. Mother, Father. Can one of you send a rider to unshock mine? Apparently she doesnt' seem to understand that I picked HER
~~~~~~~ Pretty much all of my characters are in shock XD. Except for Nixsha who is in the process of bandaging up the mauled boyo.
THAT was not supposed to happen. True, Kari had never seen a hatching before, but she knew...
...that bronzes did not Impress women. Maybe it wasn't a bronze. Maybe it was a tan, and they occasionally did, and the fact that one never had was simply happenstance?
He had to be a tan. It was the only logical explanation. Tans had to Impress females, very rarely, just as browns did. She was staring as the blue bonded.
Only one dragon had even looked at her...but that one dragon was the only female. That was obviously the problem. The clutch was almost all male and she was obviously meant to bond a female dragon. She needed another green, or a barred, or she was going to be waiting for the next clutch.
Well. This was not a big deal. She would not let it be a big deal. She tore her eyes from the Impression of the tan or bronze or new color or whatever it was, to focus on the rest of the clutch.
Hoping. She still had hope until the last dragonet cracked shell.
And counting, she saw seven intact shells amongst the sand and shards. Maybe her dragon was just in no hurry to get out of her egg?
Her. She was sure it had to be her. That was why she hadn't bonded yet, clearly. Not enough females.
He is never catching you. It was all Kora could think when she saw the Bronze- oddly colored or not, it was a Bronze- trot not just in the direction of the girls, but Impress to one.
I think you would find it very interesting. Nayarath, who was, much to the surprise of some, watching from the heights, rumbled softly. A Bronze Impressed to a female... interesting. That he had Impressed to a girl probably didn't mean he would make a good mate, but the Gold was definitely going to have a good time making her rider believe she thought differently.
This, apparently, was one turn of events at Jorindath's hatching that the Senior Queen was going to appreciate.
((...all my other characters are feeling pretty "What the heck?" right now too... like probably nearly everyone else there. xD))
