The unhappy blue rider walked into the Infirmary, a frown resting on his lips. His left hand was bandage up and hanging at his side as he looked around for a healer. D’mian had been bitten by one of the rodent like Kagen’s, and while he had ignored it for a couple of days Pangth had insisted that he go have the wound looked at when the area around the bite had started to swell and turn an angry red. If it had been up to him he still probably would have left the wound alone but when Pangth wanted something done, D’mian knew he was bound to give in sooner or later. And well, now was as good a time as any to meet some of the healers. At least it was likely to be quiet in the infirmary right now.
“Hello? Anyone around?”

Nixsha heard the voice- and rose smoothly from her position. She had learned to style the now shoulder length hair - in ways that meant it didn't get in the way. Usually it was tied back off of her face using a string - like usual. A hum left her lips as she approached the blue rider. She was definitely younger then one would expect a Master Healer to be. Especially considering she wasn't anywhere near the 30 or 40 turns that one would expect.
"May I help you rider?" She asked politely. Oh dear he'd have to look way down at her, did I mention the Master healer was a bit... short? She turned her attention to Klah for a moment and clicked a little to the firelizard. He and his companions had all decided it was time to take off for hunting. Which would make things interesting for the weyr. Considering her fair tended to stick with each other.

D’mian blinked a few times hearing the voice before he lowered his eyes enough to actually see the woman. She sure looked young, must be a journyman healer or something. He swallowed a little and look around again, hoping to see someone else there as well. No such luck.
“I was uh looking for the master healer.” He held up his bandaged hand and started to unwrap it. “Was bit by some rat thing with a long tail. I think it’s infected now or something…” His voice trailed off and he looked more and more uncomfortable being alone with her. He heard Pangth laughing in his head.
Mine. She’s like half your size. I don’t think she’s going to hurt you.

Nixsha stared up at him - intense eyes almost watching him with a pitying look. She turned for a moment to look at her supplies - and then back at the male. "I am Master Healer Nixsha." She said politely as she turned and pulled his hand towards her. "Kagen, I'm guessing. It's alright - we'll get this flushed out and cleaned up." She said as she lowered the hand and let it go. Her touch was gentle - exactly what a healers should be. She smiled faintly as she walked towards the shelves. She came back with a few containers.
"Drink this." She said as she handed him a glass full of wine laced with fellis. She then went to work on his hand. Using a small sharp blade to make sure the edges of the wound was open and able to drain. She gently began to wash around the edges. Watching the color of the pus leaking out. "You are VERY lucky you came to me when you did. If you had neglected to see a healer - you might have ended up losing this hand." She stated as she began to scrub at the wound. You'd be surprise the damage that a small creature could do.
"Any allergies?"

D’mian shut his eyes and tried not to look too stupid at hearing that this small woman was the master healer. He opened his eyes again when he felt her touch, tensing up and letting out a little hiss of pain. His hand was much more tender and sore then he had realized it would be. At least this woman had the touch of a master healer even if she didn’t look the part.
He took the drink she handed him and quickly gulped it down, then tried hard not to pay attention to what she was doing to his hand. Even though the fellis numbed his hand, he stayed tense as he half watched her take a blade to his hand and cut into the wound. Pus oozed out of it, a sickly yellow color from the infection in his hand and even he understood how bad that was. “I’ll have to thank Pangth, he was the one who insisted on me coming here, I was still against it…” He swallowed a little at the thought of losing his hand. A wound like this would have killed him if he had still been out on his own. It scared him to think like that and to realize that such a little thing could do so much damage to him. While he didn’t like to admit it, this just helped to prove that he did need other people, even after years of being mostly by himself sometimes he still needed others to bail him out.
The rider blinked a few times as Nixsha spoke to him again, not fully understanding what she had asked him for a moment. He quickly shook his head, pulling his eyes away from his hand to look at her. “N-no none that I know of at least. Sorry, I just got lost in my own thoughts there…”

Nixsha patiently went to work, when he responded that he had no allergies - it was a good thing. She reached over to the jars she had gathered - and applied an ointment designed for infected wounds. Then she applied a thin salve of numbweed to the outter edges - to numb his hand. She gently applied a light press of fabric and gently wrapped his hand. She slowly offered him another cup of Fellis laced wine - and smiled.
Excuse me - Pangth is it? My name is Nixsha - I'm the Master Healer here at Nyocia. Do you mind if I speak to you and give you instructions? she said politely. It might come as a little bit of a shock to the blue - if he had never had a HAD speak to him before. She hoped it wasn't too much of a shock. At that moment Numbweed - one of her firelizards - appeared and made himeslf known. Trilling to the blue rider and trying to weedle his way into some attention.
"There are some instructions you will need to follow."

D’mian went slightly paler as Nixsha worked on his hand. He didn’t feel any pain but he knew that his hand sure be hurting and just thinking of what was happening to it make him lose some of his color. He was happy to take the cup of wine and drank it down in a few gulps, returning Nixsha’ smile with a shake one of his own.
Pangth let out a startled yelp as Nixsha spoke to him. He had heard of HAD’s before but had never actually had one speak to him. It surprised him to hear someone else but this wasn’t that much worse then some of the other surprises they had seen since coming here.
Uh hello there? And if you can talk to me I don’t see why you shouldn’t. Make sure Dami-Mine gets these instructions too. He doesn’t always like to listen to his Pangth.[/i]
D’mian nodded to Nixsha as she told him he would have to follow some instructions, his eyes stayed on the little firelizard though. He watched it before reached out with his right hand, going slowly to try and give Numbweed a little pat on the head.
“Alright, what am I going to have to do.”

"That's Numbweed, He is one of my firelizards. " She said politely as she looked at the blue Rider. She figured out how to say this in a manner that would be gentle - and would allow her the ability to make sure this wound didn't get worse. "Look, because of the injury you will need to come back in a few days to have it looked at. If I am not here there is a Journeywoman that is almost always here Tirasha can help you if the need is to be had." She said politely as she nibbled her lower lip and then tilted her head towards where her other firelizards were perched.
"Do not let it get wet, if you do - pat it dry and loosely rewrap it." She said lightly as she tapped her finger on her lip. Pangth, I'm going to tell you exactly what I told him - though I'd like if you reminded him. He is to come in a few days and get that rechecked. If not by me - by another healer. He is to keep it dry, and not rewrap it too tightly if he does. He is to use it minimally - but not baby it. Is that something you can accomplish? She asked the blue politely.
"So you understand, Rider D'mian. I have transferred these instructions to your Dragon as well." She said in a light tone.

D’mian didn’t look too happy about the idea of having to come back but he gave her a nod. Better to come back, even if it meant having to talk to someone new, so long as he got to keep his hand. At least he was right handed; everything else would be pretty easy to follow.
Pangth listened to the directions as well, making little mmhmm’s and ok’s after each of her directions. At least the dragon knew his rider would follow these directions willingly, and even more so since the little bite had turned out to be so bad. Yep I can do that. Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of mine and make sure he does the same thing.[/i]
The rider raised his eyebrows slightly at hearing that Nixsha had already told Pangth all this as well. He was surprised that this woman was a HAD, but that did explain why Pangth was being rather quiet. “You’re a HAD? And yes, I understand. I’ll come back here in a few days for a check up and make sure that I keep my hand dry. I’ll re-wrap it loosely if I do get it wet though. Will I need to change the bandage daily or will it be fine to stay wrapped in this until I come back?”

"Yes I am a HAD - that's most of the reason I am as good with the Riders as I am." She said politely as she sat down on a stool, motioning to one across from her. It was a slow day - so she didn't mind speaking to a new Rider. Letting him get used to her presence and the things she could do - that way it'd be easier to treat him in the future. "Who better to know who's been injured in what way - then a HAD? The Dragons can project to me their exact emotions." She said politely as she looked down for a moment.
She looked back up with a faint smile on her features. "It should be good till you come back. So long as you don't do anything to dirty it. If it gets dirty even a little - come back and get it changed. No need for dirty to possibly get in- and infection set in again. RIght?" She said as she grinned lightly. Numbweed was still trying to attain attention - now resting ona perch near the blue rider. "FIrelizards are like children - until you give them attention or they get distracted by somethign shiny - they tend to be annoying." She said teasingly.

He nodded to her, everything she said made sense. A HAD was probably a perfect person to be a healer, then if something happened to a rider or a dragon there would be someone with medical knowledge who could help. “I’ve never seen a HAD before, there hadn’t been on in my old weyr for generations. I don’t think any of the other resided in weyrs had seen one for years eithers.” A slight frown touched his lips as he thought about his old home before shaking his head a little to clear it.
“I’ll keep it clean and dry. Other then cleaning some of the dust out of my weyr I don’t do anything too dirty. And I don’t want to get another infection so I’ll make sure I come back if I even think I got it dirty.” He turned his attention to the firelizard, chuckling at Nixsha’s comment about them. He reaches out and scratches it lightly with one finger. “I’ve never had one of these guys before. Pangth was always enough to keep me busy when I was young. Though if one ever starts bugging me I’ll be sure to find something shiney to throw near it.”
