Meagen had never had people in her room really - but Toath had insisted on not selling the eggs this time. On letting Hope's babies be picked up by others. Guardian was flaming mad she had picked another mate - but he had been gone. And the young one wouldn't win again. That would not happen - she was his mate! The female brownrider - faranth that still sounded a bit odd - sat at her desk working on the Candidate lessons. A sense of purpose filled her - wiping away the sensations that the male had left on her so many turns ago. Her eyes narrowed as she focused on the papers she was grading. Essays - and all sorts of things. She made sure the candidates were ready to be riders. Beside her hearth - nestled into a lovely basket... was fifteen gorgeously colored eggs. All in colors of the rainbow. They were shades that complimented each other. There were several medium ones and three large eggs. Then there was a bunch of small ones. The sensation of somethign coming - filled the air. That's when Hope, and Guardian started humming. Then the rest of the fair joined. "OH shard that! NOt a faranth's chance in between am I impressing FIFTEEN more of the little buggers!" She exclaimed as she whipped around to her dragon. Nyocia Weyr, come to your candidate Masters quarters - little cousins are hatching. the brown announced for his rider. Topaz quickly appered over where And'l was again sleeping in the middle of the lower caverns again. The little bronze knew about the hacthing that was now coming up and he wanted And'l to be there. Leaf had already appered in there and was joing in the humming that was already going on, but And'l needed know about it too, is the way that the bronze felt. And'l's dragon was asleep or else the firelizards would have just told Nelth about it and he could have told there pet, but the big guy did not really feel like waking up at the moment especially sinice he had just been eating.
Topaz landed on And'l's lap and began to nugde at the young man to try and get him awake. Which did not take long once the image of a firelizard hacthing was running through his head. Yet still the groggy young man did take a few seconds to stand up and to get his feet under him. He had just been busy all night last night and just needed to rest and so it was hard for him to get moving away form the comforntable and cool stone that he had been sleeping on, but a firelizard hacthing had that effect on the young man, espcially with as much as he loved the little things, he wanted to have as many as he could... well one of every color at least. The thought of them made him giggle for a moment before he began to head in that direction.
As fast as he moved he was quite sure that he would end up running over someone sense he was half paying attention to what was ahead and half paying attention to the idea of adding a new addition to there little family that he had. He was soon at the candidate masters door before he paused for moment after bumping into it accidently, though not too hard though. He then knocked on the door as he slowly opened it and said in a poliet voice, "Uhh Meagen.... I heard that the firelizards where hacthing.... if I may join if that is ok?" He was gald he had some food with him, which he had planned on eating later, but now could give to any new babies.... and maybe to the clucth dame too.

A brown fire lizard screached is arrival, holding a large slice of wherry dripping with gravy in his forpaws. With much difficult with his burden he managed to find a spot to perch on the hearth amoung the others watching the eggs. It wasn't much later that a huffing L'han nearly crashed into the doorway, exhasted from his run up from the lower caverns. Wuith was laughing at him, as he would too. It would have been easier to ask the tan for a lift then to run nearly half the Weyr. It honestly hadnt come to mind, only to stop the brown from getting into trouble.
Leaning on the wall he waited to catch his breath before pointing to the new brown. "He's mine... stole my lunch..." It was a little bit of an embarassment, but the little brown was as vicious as a tunnlesnake and rightfully earned his name of Terror.
A shy face appeared in the doorway, feeling as lost as an avian in a tunnlesnake nest. "Um Valkyrith told me... the firelizard eggs..." The young woman hadn't changed much since she impressed, even if she had impressed the worst tempered barred on Pern. She was still overly cautious and shy but at least she tried her best to hide it.

"I don't want another one, Tinth."
Tinth rumbled, Yes, you do, and you know it. You want a green or a barred
R'mer shook his head. "I do...Tinth!"
The dragon was physically poking his nose into the human part of their weyr and *shoving* R'mer towards the corridor.
"Okay...okay...I get it. You nagging..."
Still bantering with his dragon, he made his way towards the Candidatemaster's weyr. Of course, she always had firelizards...she had a veritable fair of the little things around her. He ended up arriving just after Zukah...and remembering that Valkyrith had flown recently.
There was a...well...barred dragons seemed to have a greater chance of being trouble than any other color. And oh, shards, there were like fifteen eggs.
Tinth would never leave him alone if he fled, and his blue, Thunder, was...already there, the little rascal, all mixed up in Meagan's fair and humming away.
Shards.
He was doomed.

Mine.
“Hm?”
Mineminemine.
K’yte chuckled a bit and put down the paintbrush in his hand and turned to look at his green. Yorath stood still, her large eyes slightly crossed as she watched the brown firelizard that was perched on her nose. Renly was perfectly still before he let out a little squeak and started humming before he popped Between.
Mine! Little ones! They’re hatching! Can we have another? Pleasepleaseplease?
Now that the lizard was no longer on Yorath’s nose, the green was dancing around in excitement. K’yte laughed and took another look at the painting he had been working on, figuring that now was a good enough stopping point. He went to his dragon, giving her a kiss on the nose and a pat on her head.
“Yes I’ll go and see if we might be able to pick up another one. You’ll have to be careful though, this will be a little baby, not like Renly. You won’t be able to play with it for a few weeks ok?”
Yorath squealed with joy, having only heard the first part of what K’yte said. The green adored the little firelizards, even Renly who was rather boring for one. Not that K’yte minded, he liked the firelizards as well though taking care of his dragon was always first on his list. The young man looked down at his shirt, wiping some of the wet drops of paint off of it before he redid his pony tail. Another quick glance around the room and he found where he had left his lunch. He grabbed the small hunk of bread that was still on his plate and started heading over to the candidate masters quarters.
Since Renly had never come back to harass him, K’yte took his time getting to the room. He gave a quick knock on the door before looking in, seeing that there was a handful of people here already. He saw his brown with the other lizards and found a place to stand where he could see the eggs.
“Wow that’s a lot of eggs there Meagan. They’re so pretty too.” He smiled as he tried to note all the colors of the eggs in the basket, wondering if he’d ever get time to paint a picture of this or not.

It had been some time since Kyrissa impressed her two firelizards, who were currently curled up on her sky dragon. Opheliath enjoyed it when the two little ones slept on her, knowing they trusted her enough to keep them save. The sky crooned to her rider, silently urging her to go and watch the firelizard hatching, even if she didn't impress another one. It would be nice for her to watch it, at least.
"Alright dearheart, but don't be disappointed if I don't impress any." Kyrissa said as she walked out of her weyr and headed to where she could hear a little commotion. As soon as she spotted the eggs her eyes widened. There were so many, and they were all eye-catching. She thought that perhaps she just might have a chance at another. Although she wasn't sure if she could handle four.

Meagen watched the veritable flux of people coming in. her eyes closed for a moment as she took in a long and drawn out breath. "Yes everyone you are welcome to come in. Feel free to settle down and get an egg." she said in a polite voice as she straightened her back. The candidate master looked rather lost though - like she needed someone else other then her dragon.
That was something for another time - and another place perhaps. Those thoughts were not needed at this moment because as K'yte entered - the first eggs began to hatch. The Violet Purple egg spilled out it's lovely contents. A little green firelizard now graced the small basket. Creeling around and stumbling - looking for food.
It was at this moment that the Ocean Blue Egg hatched to reveal a little tan firelizard. He seemed rather confused as he struggled to get shards of an egg off his foot. HIs creeling increasing as he shook his leg and stumbled over the other eggs. Well this was not good at all!
Then the Citrine Egg which had been cracking all along, started to spill out it's contents. Two wings snapped out of the shell - showing a silvery green tone and purple stripings. Well looks like the little barred was in a predicament! It was at this moment that the White Egg and the Black Egg began rocking against each other and fighting to hatch first. They were being quickly caught up upon by the Lilac Egg and the Yellow Egg.
"Do not touch them! Offer the food and be sweet about it. Call to them if you wanna try for one in particular!" The female brown rider snapped rather politely to those there.

K’yte tore off a few pieces of bread before he looked around at some of the others there before he walked over to Kyrissa, giving her a light tap on the shoulder. “Here, you don’t look like you have any food on you for the firelizards. Take some then pass it on to anyone else that doesn’t seem to have any. I’d hate for someone to miss out just because they didn’t have time to grab some food.”
Any firelizards he got were bound to be annoyed that he had just given their food away but at least the little nibbles of food he had would be enough at first. And if he really needed more food he could just send Renly down to grab something.
K’yte edged up a little closer to the hatching eggs and held out one of the pieces of bread in his hand. He didn’t really care what color he got but he make a soft clicking sound with his tongue, hoping that it might attracted one of the lizards to him.

R'mer hardly needed the instructions from Meagan...but he did not blame her for making the reminder. There was no point in scaring any of them wild, after all.
Then, half of them started to hatch at once, or so it seemed. One shell spilled a green out, who was creeling loudly, but not moving towards anyone in particular. A tan and a barred were both stuck halfway...but R'mer knew better than to help them. Several other eggs were rocking violently.
He dropped to sit near the eggs, reaching for some of the food Tinth had insisted he bring and shifting into a comfortable position. Now that he was here, he might as well try for one...there were certainly plenty, so he did not have to feel as if he was taking away from some holdbred candidate or newly assigned journeyman who might not have one.
They're cute
R'mer laughed inwardly at his dragon, who's presence he could feel. Unable to fit into the weyr himself, Tinth was watching the hatching through R'mer's eyes. And with amusement at the plight of the poor set of wings...nothing else of the barred being visible.
He didn't call to any of them in particular...he was entirely ambiguous as to which one he might want. But he did wiggle a piece of meat in the direction of the pile of eggs and hatchlings.

Oh! Little cousins! Mineminemineminemine! I want a cousin! I wantwantwant, pleasepleaseplease? Whatever else Baccuth had grown out of, his excitable nature wasn’t one of them, and his head jerked up from where it had been lying on the couch of his weyr. The sudden boom of his voice (though she should be used to it by now) startled Rosie into nearly dropping Kitty, who’d she’d been attempting to brush for the last candlemark or so. Insulted by this move, Kitty instantly wormed her way to the ground and streaked under the bed, leaving only a pair of glowing amber orbs to glare at Rosie from the safety that was now hers. Baccuth paid the feline no mind, concentrating on his Mine, who was staring at him almost absently. Though Rosie tended to talk at high speeds as well, she had nothing on the dark blue dragon, and she often required a moment to work out what he’d said. “Little cousins?” Still confused however, Rosie merely tilted her head slightly to observe Baccuth, who sighed like a true drama queen.
Yes! Yessureofcourse! Flittfirelizardflitter! Littleittybitty cousins! The blue replied eagerly, nodding his head in an imitation of something he’d seen his rider do many times when she liked something someone else had said, this time, understanding dawned in Rosie’s blue eyes, and she smiled slightly, teasing him now. “You want me to go get a flitt?” She knew Baccuth loved the idea of a constant friend, considering he’d been very disappointed when Kitty had decided to throw in her lot and had decided that due to his size now, it would be better not to play with him any more. Yesyesyes! Gogogo! “Where?” She was nearly laughing, her eyes were sparkling with amusement as she slowly went to pull her boots on, noting the swirl of impatience colouring Baccuth’s eyes, he was such a friendly dragon, but impatient. In a way, he was just like her. Candidate master! Yessurego! He chirped, and Rosie laughed, nodding at him, “Alright, Baccuth, I’ll go. Can’t promise nothing though.”
She knew enough of flitters to pass by the kitchens and grab some food, if she didn’t at least give it her best shot to Impress one of the little things then Baccuth would never forgive her, and besides that, his excitement pressed heavily against her mind, encouraging her own excitement to build. She’d always liked flitts, she’d just never gone through with attempting to get one, after all, she did have Kitty. Kitty was getting older now, though, and was less likely to play as she had when she’d been a baby kitten in arms, not that Rosie minded, she had more duties now as a rider, and it left more time just to pet and cuddle the feline. Gohurryrun! Baccuth ordered, though Rosie merely snorted at him, she wasn’t about to put all her energy in running to the weyr, she might still go for a morning run every day, but that didn’t mean she was going to run up those Sharding stairs to please Baccuth. Patience, Baccuth. She murmured, then laughed when the blue gave a very rude sound within her mind.
Finally arriving, Rosalind was nearly out of breath with laughter at Baccuth’s continued grumbles and pleading, waving at Meagen with her un-filled hand and smiling her customary way. “Hey Meagen! See, Baccuth heard about the whole thing and he practically ordered me to come.” Yesyesyes, Toath. Toath calls, Baccuth wantedwantedwanted and called Mineminemine. There were times that Rosie had to wonder what other dragons thought of her bonded’s rapid and often repetitive speech, but she loved him either way. “Oh look they’ve already started hatching! So cute!”

Meagen smiled at the arrival of Rosie - the female Bluerider was more then welcome within Meagen's chambers. Most female riders of male dragons where - they made her feel less... odd. Especially considering the fact that she rarely got to hang out with anyone from her clutch. More importantly - from the recent and past clutches. She looked around for a moment- noticing that it was only dragon riders - or was there a candidate. Nope - only dragon riders.
A few more people trickled into the room - caverns workers and finally a few of her candidates. She gave them a stern look and then turned her attention towards the task at hand. She had a clutch to watch over - and help people as they tried to attain one of the little critters.
The Ocean Blue which had already hatched - was showing signs of progressively further violence towards the shell stuck to him. He stumbled harder - falling into the large Citrine Egg the actions of the tiny tan happened to crack the other egg fully. Revealing that the gorgeous firelizard in the Citrine Egg was indeed a barred. A lovely surprise indeed. This caused more commotion to unfold as it seemed that four other eggs were fighting for the dominance of hatching.
The White Egg shattered at the same moment as the Black Egg revealing startling different hatchlings within. The Black Egg Hatched to reveal a barred so pale that it was almost as if she was white. Until her little wings flared out and she creeled in the direction of the Ocean Blue Tan The little tan responded to her, just as the occupant of the White Egg flared out his wings. He at first made people believe he was a black hatchling but as the light hit him his color of blue was revealed. Thus revealing the White Blue to those gathered.
The Yellow Egg was the next to spill it's contents unto the sands of the basket next to Meagen's hearth - revealing a gorgeously colored little green Lady. This one was instantly set upon by the Violet Purple Green who attacked the other green for a few moments. Tearing a small hole in the Yellow Green's wing. The Violet Purple Green then turned her attention to those gathered and attached herself to a young man from the kitchens. (NPC Bond Made)
This threw the Ocean Blue Tan into action as he looked amongst those there and found his bonded. A young woman that was amongst those gathered. (CHaracter Bond, check PMs to see if the Ocean Blue Tan is yours.)
The injured Yellow Green found herself creeling pitifully for someone to save her, finding herself stumbling towards someone offering food. A man that smelt very good. (Character Bond, check PMs to see if the Yellow Green is yours.)
With that done - Meagen turned towards those gathered - wincing faintly. She knew how to care for the little greens injured wing - but would wait till the bonded asked her assistance.

R'mer was both relieved and disappointed no firelizard had come to him. There were still a few unhatched eggs, of course, so he had a chance of a companion for Thunder yet. He winced as the two greens fought, one of them ending up injured.
Not an injury that could not be fairly readily fixed, but the idea of a hole in Tinth's or Thunder's wing...he knew that had to hurt. The creeling made him wince again, but the green bonded to somebody else.
Not that he would have minded dealing with her, and a green would be a good companion for his blue... But he wasn't quite going to get Thunder a girlfriend yet.
Poor little thing...well. She would live and she would be, in the end, entirely fine. What an introduction to the world, though, and unlike dragons, firelizards remembered things like that. She'd probably avoid other greens for months.

Toath says that there are fire lizard eggs hatching.
R'dym didn't pause as he oiled the light green's flaky hide, but he did raise one thick eyebrow in surprise.
"And you mention this...because...?"
R'dym did not need a fire lizard, not in the least. He had Keeler to look out for him, and Ydanith to look after. What more could someone want?
I want a pretty.
There were many things the weyrling could have told his dragon, almost all of them beginning with 'No'. Instead of utilizing any of the replies that should have sprung to his lips, R'dym simply nodded.
"Okay."
Ydanith had him wrapped around her wingtip, thoroughly and willingly. The tall weyrling smoothed one last line of the herbal oil he was using, and wiped his slightly greasy hands on his trousers. They could be washed.
~*~
Between the Weyrbowl where Ydanith was stretched out in the sun and the Candidate Master's quarters, Keeler met up with R'dym. The blue roan kagen was an inquisitive little fellow, and he hadn't seen His Person since the morning. R'dym entered the Candidate Master's quarters with all the fanfare a lone kagen could provide, which was exactly none.
"Greetings, Candidate Master."

Terror eyed the hatchlings, dangling his offering above the eggs. L'han was a litle confused that the brown was maybe the nicest he had ever been, but in the precence of queen Brooke maybe anything was possible. The little ones were hungry, and dispite all the people here did they have the food to satisfy them all? However the tanrider didn't want to feel respocible if some of the hathlings went wild. Reaching out he took the meat from the brown's jaws and was repied with an angry hiss and a slash of claw that caught nothing but air. Terror then disappeared, probably off the steal someone else's lunch...
In his moment of conflict he missed seeing the two green fight, only the poor injured victim. She was such a poor little beauty, she had just hatched and she looked so hurt. L'han was expecting someone to scoop up the little girl to treat her, or her to disappear between from trauma, not crawl to him and cry for the food he was holding. Well if anyone was going to look after her it might as well be him. Taking her out of the pot he juggled feeding her and checking the damage to her wing.

Chandra and Liliana wandered through the halls of the Weyr, the tall twins chatting with each other and catching up on everything that had happened recently. They both paused as first one person walked by, barely keeping themselves from running, before another couple went by. Liliana called out to the next one who passed, a boy who worked in the kitchens. “Pardon me, but where’s everyone hurrying off to?” “There’s a clutch of firelizards hatching in the Candidate Master’s room.” The boy was off again, hoping to get there in time to get himself a new pet. The two girls looked at each other, a little grin rising to Liliana’s lips before she took Chandra’s hand and pulled her long. “Come on Chandra, even if we don’t get any new pets it’ll be a good chance for me to meet the Candidate Master and for you to meet anyone else that might be there!” Chandra just laughed a little and went along with her sister, their green flits Joraga and Glissa both popping out of Between behind them, the lizard just as excited to see a hatching as their owners.
It was easy enough for the twins to find the right room, the sound of all the people and firelizards gathered into one room was loud enough to hear from the hall. Liliana slipped into the room first, glancing towards the nest of eggs to see they had only missed the first couple of eggs hatching, but happy to see the man they had talked to hadn’t missed his chance to get a firelizard and was now caring for his green. Chandra followed her sister, the bigger woman staying back a bit so she wouldn’t bump into anyone. They found a spot where they would be able to watch the hatching over the heads of some of the smaller people in the room, their firelizards perched on their shoulders chittering to each other.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
K’yte watched excitedly as more eggs started to crack, spilling out their little lizards. He hated to see the two greens fight with each other but knew better then to try and stop them. One was hurt but it didn’t seem too bad and she quickly found herself someone to take care of her. Renly flew above K’yte’s head, watching just as eagerly as his owner as more shells cracked.

And'l wacthed over the hacting curiously as each new hacthing was introduced to the world... he could here the voice of his dragon in his mind, Are we going to be able to get some new little ones to join with our family Mine? And'l grinned a little as he took a bowl of food... and his two firelizards sat there next to him on the ground flanking him... He looking the direction of the firelizards as he thought for a few moments before realizing... he did not want know exactlly what color that he wanted, but he at least knew that he did not want a color he already had. So he took a piece of meat out of the bowl and held it out.
He was exactlly sure what firelizard he would get, plus he wanted to see what would come out of the other eggs first... sinice recently he had not had much to do so taking care of a baby would give him plenty that he would be able to do..... maybe even take care of two if he was lucky egough.

It seemed like she'd barely walked into the room before the eggs began hatching again, and it seemed like it was only seconds after that before a small Tan was clinging to the front of her shirt. Blinking in bemusement at the creature, Rosie’s free hand came up to cradle it, lifting other pieces of meat to calm him. Not that he seemed worried. Maybe he’d be a calming influence on Baccuth, if she was lucky. After all, Baccuth had the calming effect on her by forcing her to be the responsible one, but that was still once in a blue-moon. Ohwowyay! Littleittybittytiny cousin! Namehim? We do? Baccuth prattled excitedly, the moment Rosie allowed the flitter to take the meat from her fingers.
Give me a moment, Bacchy. Rosie murmured, smiling easily over at Meagan and then weaving her way away from the clutch to stand more towards the back. That way those that didn’t have the instant luck she’d had, could try to gain the attention of the greens, or browns or anything else that might still be there. She’d gotten distracted very quickly. The tan hadn’t made much sound, no demands for food considering he must have been starving, maybe it was because she was quickly shoving food in his mouth. Namenamename! The blue chirped again, and Rosie laughed, glancing down at the tan and pondering for a moment. “Hush, do you like that?” Glancing down at the tan happily, she was delighted when he gave a quiet cheep and Baccuth instantly chirped in her mind, Yesyepyay! I like that, likelove!
"Thanks Meagan! Do you mind if I stay for a bit? Just to watch?"

Meagen was a little startled as two more people entered her chambers. But she knew this would happen - she was focused on the hatching. And the damaged firelizard- poor dear! She was so startled by the little green that had attacked another. That happened all the time - but she never liked wing injuries. Hope was enraged by this a bit and showed it in how she hunched over the rest of the eggs - she would keep order in her HOME!
Meagen grabbed her kit and approached the tan rider - suddenly very selfconcious. Mostly because unless it was in the open - not her own chambers - she didn't often talk to males. "Hello - L'han is it? May I treat her please?" She asked politely - looking up at the male rider.
This was the time that eggs started to bust open again. Four of them actually. The Crimson Egg opened to reveal a dashing dark colored tan with almost a freckling of a reddish tan. The Crimson Tan looked amonst those present and almost instantly found the one he wanted to latch on to. With a screeching hollar he threw out newly hatched wings and tried to fly. Managing an awkward half flight to a young woman in the room. Latching unto her shirt and looking up at her with swirling eyes. (Bond to player, please check PM box.)
There was a shivering feeling as the last large egg hatched. Revealing for all to see the Pink brown he looked very disgruntled as he looked around the room. His eyes swirling with hunger - who was the tastiest tidbit? There was a cracking sound as he snapped his wings out and chose his person. A young man in the crowds who quickly named him and went on his way. (NPC Bond)
There was another sound as two of the smaller eggs cracked and fell apart. Revealing the Orange Brown and the Royal Purple Blue. Both of which looked at each other and got startled. The blue falling backwards and squaking in stark embarassment at the other male firelizard. Falling over himself as he scrambled from the basket and to a young man that already had a firelizard. (Player Bond, check PMs) With that done the brown huffed and found a young woman in the crowd he wanted. (NPC Bond)
The other firelizards seemed content to squall in hunger - and figure out who had the tastiest morsels. Perhaps people should start to try and entice certain firelizards to them?
(( Sending out the PMs may take me a moment, as I am writing up the profiles. ))

Chandra had heard about the unique colors but this was her first chance at seeing them in person. They were quite pretty. Her eyes roamed from fire lizard to fire lizard, looking at them all before one of the newly hatched flitts let out a screech and started to make an awkward flight. Chandra was surprised when the little thing thunked into her and clung to her shirt, making slightly less noise now but by no means was the tan quiet. Chandra gathered the little guy up, muttering a quick things as a giggling Liliana handed her a few morsels of food. Chandra quickly gave the first bit of food to the tan, taking a moment to look over the fire lizard while he was busy eating. She glanced at the other tan that had hatched and figured that hers was either large for the color or the other one was small. His coloring was dark too, his nose and muzzle a dark almost brown color that grew lighter down his back and tail. Crimson freckles dotted his hide as well, though she would have to wait until she could get outside into some better light to see just how much of his hide was speckled.
Chandra tried to carefully spread one of the tan’s wings out, wanting to get a better look at them before her finger was bit and the tan let out an angry squall. He had finished his food and was demanding more. Now. Chandra let out a little snort and gave the tan more food before looking at her finger, clearly the little guy hadn’t been trying to hurt her, just get her attention the fastest way possible.
Making sure the tan got more food as soon as he was finished with his second piece, Chandra took the chance of looking over the wings. They were a little odd with the wing tips pointing down but it shouldn’t cause any problems for the tan. “Hm another little boy. And one who doesn’t like to wait for things either.” Chandra held the tan up so it was at eye level with her, the fire lizard letting out a slightly annoyed hiss that only made the tall woman chuckle. “I think I’ll call you Sorin.”
Chandra looked over at her sister who hovered near by and with her free hand gave her a little nudge towards the nest of eggs and hatchlings. Liliana took the hint and found a spot where she could reach the fire lizards and held out the bit of food in her hand, trying to get the attention of the pretty blue hatching that still had little bits of white shell sticking to it by speaking to it in a sing-songy voice. “Here bluey I have a nice tasty treat for yoooou.”

K’yte watched as more eggs hatched, the fire lizards quickly finding who they were looking for. It was cute to watch their awkward flying and he hoped that no one got hurt as they went to their new owners. There were still a few eggs that hadn’t cracked open yet but K’yte set his sights on one of the barred hatchlings. Two of them had hatched yet neither of them had found someone. He held out his food for the one nearest him, the one from the black egg, trying to get the attention of the fire lizard and tempted her over to him.
