Appearance:
Tan coloured skin with dark brown hair cut to her shoulders and eyes that constantly change colour, Raiin isn't a normal run-of-the-mill girl. She's rather stout, less than 5 foot, and full of energy. She has an ever-present smile, the kind that lights up a room, and her energy is contagious. She isn't exactly fun-sized as most of her height are, she's a heavy-set build. Plum and short, that's a brief description of her.
Raiins face is very expressive, any thought that crosses her mind, crosses her face. It makes it rather hard to be tactful when you hate the persons guts, and they know it. Nevertheless Raiins appearance seems to let people get somewhat complacent around her. Don't be fooled, Raiin may look like she wouldn't hurt a fly, which she probably wouldn't, but she packs a mean punch. Mostly she doesn't use it but kicks, punches, bear hugs and tackling are her speciality. Body weight can be a dangerous weapon in the wrong, or in this case right, hands.
Personality:
Much like her smile tells Raiin can light up a room. All of her emotions are exaggerated and somewhat theatrical at times. She’s happy almost 24/7, although when she’s annoyed, you don’t want to be on her bad side! Raiin just enjoys life, having come so close to losing it when she was younger, she takes pain-staking lengths to try and see the bright side. In everything!
There are few things that make Raiin lose her temper, her sister for instance. Raiin and Iindi do not get on very well, most of the time. It isn’t the fault of either of them, they just can’t stand to be around each other. Long conversations are the worst for them both, most of the time they end up at complete loggerheads. And chaos ensues. Raiin also doesn’t like ignorant people, people being unkind when they mention the fact that she’s a midget and people treating her like a child. Raiin by no means looks like she’s stupid so she can’t comprehend why some people are so arrogant to think that kids can’t understand what they’re saying. When she was younger she used to lose her temper at people like that, and it got her in trouble, a lot, but Raiin has developed her ways, now Raiin is a very good, if tiny, diplomat. Raiin is also very precocious, which, she believes, means she should be treated by level of intelligence, not age and definitely not discriminated by gender. Raiin shows a great deal of respect to all who deserve it, but will completely disregard all rank or status if the said person is a moron. Quite a few times it has gotten her into trouble, but Raiin cannot stand insolence, especially if that someone thinks they have the right to do it. However if the said person is just plain stupid, Raiin can handle that. Raiin has a tendency to lock her jaw and clench her fists when she gets annoyed. She also crosses her hands over her chest when she’s unimpressed.
Raiin usually makes friends where ever she goes, as strange as Raiin may seem on first impressions, she’s really just over-the-top. Her travelling performances and acts at gatherings have made Raiin more than able to handle being the centre of attention. They have also made her talk a lot, and I mean a lot, it’s like once the flood gates open, they can’t close. Raiin can however control herself somewhat, she knows that when a topic is sensitive, she just shouldn’t open her mouth. At least, not for long..... As much as Raiin like to be the centre of attention, she does need down time to herself, if not for her sanity but more for everyone else’s. She mostly secrets herself into the corner of a room and just watches life go by, she enjoys being able to see things from different perspectives, being in the crowd, being in the middle of it, being on the stage and being outside and looking in on everyone.
Raiin will always take responsibility for her actions, whether small or large. She can’t live with guilt, it drives her mental. And she can always see two sides of the coin, and she will side with the person who’s right, whether they hate her or not.
Raiin has a strange affinity with colours, every colour she sees has its own meaning, its own feel, she daresay every colour has a story. If Raiin needed to make a special gather dress, she would spend ten minutes choosing what it would look like, then hours upon hours to choose what colour it was! It can aggravate her to no end! But she always manages to find a suitable colour, no matter how long it takes.
She's loyal, trustworthy, fun, humorous, patient, slightly insane(ok, maybe not so slightly) and walks with a skip in her stride and a song at heart. She has an amazing voice and doesn't hide it, however she is very humble when it comes to the reactions about her singing.

Born on travel, most of Raiins life is spent putting on shows and entertaining the young and old. Her entire family are into the creative arts and as such are one of the most colourful characters around. Gorgeous art, outrageous costumes and beautiful music is the life Raiin was born into........and it can never be taken out of her. Raiin prefers the life of travel and adventure than the life inside hold walls, however it's nice to drop in on friends and stay for a brief time at holds and weyrs. When Raiin was only young her families caravan tipped over the edge of a cliff, her other four siblings ( not mentioned above) were killed in the fall. Raiin herself fell into the water, and at the time she couldn't swim. As such she doesn't like water, AT ALL! Doesn't like swimming, being splashed or being pushed into water. She does like puddles however.
Upon Raiins abnormal knack for singing, she also has an equally abnormal knack for English or rather the subject of writing, particularly poetry. Her mother, being an artist, has had particular influence on her creative side. Drawing is by far Raiins most progressed skill in the form of visual art. Unfortunately Raiin has yet to master the art of art and gets particularly frustrated when she can't draw two of the same thing. And that's anything. Two eyes can't be the same, two wings can't be the same, two shoulders can't be the same. She gets rather obsessive compulsive about the entire thing. Raiin is also good at being annoying, her sister being her speciality.
Although Raiin enjoys annoying her siblings they do get along quite well. Her brother is a little bundle of joy, most of the time. Other times he just repeats the same chant over and over again until Raiin finally gives in and tries to strangle him. But otherwise a great bundle of joy!!! Her sister is a tad bit more 'gloom and doom'. The child doesn't do much more than daydream about dragons and thread. Although when she's in a good mood Raiin and her sister could be twins. Much to Raiins dislike, Raiin doesn't like the fact that her sister is tall and skinny, beanpole like, and Raiin was left short and on the chubbier side. Raiin also grumbles about the fact that she's two years older, and her sister is taller. All three of the children look alike, which unfortunately makes them easily recognisable as siblings, unfortunately because the two youngest have a distinct habit of getting in trouble, and dragging Raiin into it.
Raiin was training to become a harper before she came to the weyr. Her parents decided that if she couldn’t impress at her first hatching that she would continue her training as well as being on list for the next hatching. She would continue travelling with her parents after the first hatching. Whatever Raiin eventually decides, her parents will not rebuke, but until then they still have high hopes for her to become a harper.
