Name: S'aer
Age: 27
Rank: Rogue Brownrider
Gender: male
Sexuality: heterosexual
Appearance: S'aer stands at 5'9, of a medium build. He is lightly tanned, never seeming to tan quite as much as other Southerners. He has more of an athletic build than a muscle-y build, which makes sense, because he likes to run and jump.
S'aer's hair is a bit oddly colored - sometimes it seems to be black, sometimes just a very dark brown. It's mostly-straight, with a hint of curl in it, and goes low enough to cover his forehead, but not go into his eyes. He usually keeps it neat, but it's not unheard of to see him in a bed-head style (especially when he's just gotten out of bed - go figure!). His eyes are most definitely brown, and possess an almost childish quality to them, due partly to the fact that they are kind of big. They are a light chocolate-brown, bordering on tan, with large pupils that give him better night-sight than most people. Above his eyes are eyebrows, thicker than usual but not bushy, of the same brown-black as his hair.
This brownrider really soesn't bother too much with his clothing, especially as he is usually wearing riding leathers, but prefers dark reds and blues to other colors. He likes looser, casual clothes, that he can easily run in.
Currently, a large Threadscore mars most of his back, along with part of his arms, marring his good looks (from behind, at least)
Personality: The most basic description of S'aer would be enthusiastic, good-spirited, and mildly scatterbrained. This is the first impression of him, and is generally rather accurate. But he's also loyal, honest, responsible, and independent.
Enthusiastic:
S'aer is enthusiastic, and sometimes overly so. When an idea he likes is suggested, he'll make it known that he likes it - quickly and loudly. And then he'll want to do it, as soon as possible. In this sense, he's impatient too...when tyhere's something to be done, he doesn't want to wait to do it.
Good-spirited
S'aer knows how to be serious, but he doesn't like to be. He's usually found with a smile on his face. He has a good sense of humor, and is often the one able to cheer others up. He rarely gets angry, even in the face of insults - he'll just turn them into jokes. He's not afraid to bag on himself either; he does it all the time, as a joke.
Scatterbrained
Where his dragon is sensible and quick-thinking, S'aer is eager and scatterbrained. Oh, he's very intelligent, but he doesn't always choose to use his mind. He ends up losing things and forgetting about things, and without Aeth he'd probably have fallen into a ditch long ago.
Loyal
Even if he is independent, S'aer is loyal was well - to his dragon and pets, to the people he chooses to be with. And to himself. He won't get into a fight he can't win, but he will defend his friends.
Honest
This brownrider is honest in heart and mind. It never really crosses his mind to lie - oh, not that he's never stretched the truth as a child; he has. But he's learned from it. Not only it he honest in words, but in actions as well - he won't cheat, or scam his way into things.
Responsible
While sometimes it doesn't seem to show, S'aer is responsible. If not for his often wherry-brained ways, he might make a good leader, not that he's ever been the least bit ambitious. He knows when he needs to take responsibility, and where. He takes care to care for him and his dragon (and his firelizard and recently-aquired Kagen) above other, minor things. Sometimes he is more responsible than other times - like, if he'd been less careless last Threadfall, and kept a better look-out, he might not be seriusly Threadscored right now, something his brown won't let him forget.
Independent
S'aer is, like most of the other rogues, independent. That's why he rejected the life of a weyr, for the most part - he just didn't like the thought of living among so many people. Plus, he's never liked closed-in spaces. He'd rather be out in the fresh air, where he can see the stars at night. He's got his own opinions and sticks to them, though he doesn't mind if others have different thoughts than him. He doesn't like being with too many people at once, is the heart of his independence. That's different from being shy, mind you - he is certainly not that.
History: S'aer was born Siaraer, in a hold in the Southern Continent. His father was one of the last dragonriders left, and his mother was only a holder. They had met and fallen in love, secretly getting together, until Siaraer's mother, Saventa, discovered that she was pregnant. When Siaraer was born, Saventa and the rider, R'tar, decided it would be better for him to live at the hold with his mother.
So they lived in the hold, but Saventa saw no reason to hide from Siaraer who and what his father as - she, unlike some others she could name - still thought of dragonriders as honored men and women, to be respected. She fed this feeling into her son, and Siaraer grew up hearing about dragons. He was fascinated by them, and dreamt of becoming one one day.
Siaraer had a few friends as a child, but preferred playing alone, outside. This was how he gained his firelizard. Leaf. He was exploring the hold when he was nine Turns old, and discovered a firelizard clutch tucked into a corner. The mother was not present, so he took one of the eggs and cared for it. It hatched a beautiful green that he named Leaf because it was the color of a leaf when it is held up to the light. Having Leaf only made him want to be a dragonrider more, because he figured that if firelizards were this wonderful, dragons must be even better.
When Siaraer was 17 Turns old, he was Searched, to his delight, to be a candidate. He Stood eagerly the day they hatched, only a few days after turning 18, and Siaraer was the first one out. The fourth egg to hatch was a chocolate-hued brown. The brown came decisively up to him, and said, S'aerMine, it would be a good idea to get to somewhere with food - where you may feed me. Even overwhelmed by the hatchling's hunger that invaded him, S'aer was delighted to finally have a dragon.
For a few Turns, he was happy - or, relatively happy. He didn't really like the busy, cramped feel of the place, but that couldn't be helped. But he grew to like the weyr anyway. He liked it as a rider even so, and his Turns training with Aeth and being a full rider were good ones.
Then Thread fell again. Everyone had thought it odd that the Queen had moved to a different place to clutch, but it was a surprise, nothing more. But when Thread came - that was a bone-jarring shock. Even so, though, S'aer was against making a new weyr. Why were they doing it? Just because one senile queen clutched somewhere different? S'aer - and several others, he found out - was unhappy with the change. So when one suggested leaving the weyr and living on their own, S'aer agreed readily/ They became rogues, fighting Thread by themselves, rather than with a weyr. Injuries where minimal, and life was pretty good. For five Turns, they lived like this.
Just a few seasons ago, the group discovered a group of Kagen, and one female was just giving birth. S'aer managed to get a Flame Kagen, and named him Scorch.
It went well for five Turns. But on a recent Threadfall, when the clouds were stopping most Thread, things went wrong. S'aer didn't pay as much attention as he normally would have, and got hit in the bcack by a big clump of Threadfall. Immediately, Aeth betweened to Nyocia Weyr, the only place he could think of that could help his rider. The Threadscoring almost knocked S'aer unconscious, but the cold of between shocked him awake. He ended up semi-conscious and delirious with pain, as Aeth appeared above the weyr and landed in the bowl, creening for help.
Pets: one firelizard, one Kagen
Name: Leaf
Age: 14 Turns
Color: green
Appearance: Leaf is the bright green of a leafr held up to the sunlight, bright but also soft. Small swirls of darker green appear on her wings. She is about 20 centimeters long, kind of small even for a green. Her frame is slender and delicate.
Personality: Leaf is loving and protective. Like a queen for its eggs, she will drive off any who try and hurt Hers. She loves to be stroked and praised - the prideful thing - and anyone who compliments her will automatically be her best friend foever - except for S'aer, of course. He's the best best friend forever!
Name:Scorch
Age: 1/2 Turn
Color: Flame
Appearance: Scorch is a deep, fiery orange, dotted with flecks of reds and yellows, especially prominent in his ears and tail. He's about 34 centimeters long, from nose to tail=tip.
Personality: If Leaf i caring and protective, Scorch is mischeivous and flirtatious. He will try and hit it off with any female Kagen around, and will also charm and human female around, too! He's been known to pull pranks on the males near, though - watch out, Kagens!
Other:
-If a Rider:
Dragon Name: Aeth
Dragon Age: 9 Turns
Dragon Size: 35 meters
Dragon Color: Brown - Aeth is a light chocolate brown, with hints of darker brown along his wings and around his maw. He's big, but not exactly bulky and not exactly agile - sort of a mix of the two. Pretty much average in size and frame, if not in color.
Dragon Personality: Aeth is like his rider in some ways, and different in others. Thankfully, he is quick-thinking and has good judgement, or S'aer would be in biger trouble than hw is now. He likes company more than his rider does, and is a good companion. He's more patient than S'aer too. However, they both like being outside, and they are both loyal and honest.
