Name: Tarenthia
Age: 18
Rank: Candidate
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Appearance: Tarenthia is fairly small, she reaches an astounding 5'5. It's fairly irritating being so much shorter than nearly everyone else, but she doesn't mind too much since it means all the guys are taller than her, and she prefers it that way. Her smooth skin is fairly pale, though not creepily so. It just takes her time to tan although she does enjoy spending time outdoors.
Her sun-bleached hair has a dark under layer and is regularly pulled into two loose, messy buns at the top of her neck with pretty little red gems on the clips. She has long bangs on either side of her face that run down to her shoulders and shorter bangs over her forehead which brush over her eyes. Slender inquisitively-raised eyebrows rest above bright sapphire blue eyes. Tarenthia has high cheekbones and a thin face, complete with a thin, slightly up-turned nose, thin pink lips, and a pointy chin. Her rather small ears are commonly hidden by her smooth hair.
Tarenthia's build, as previously mentioned, is very small and slight. She's incredibly slender, almost sickly so, as though she hadn't eaten in days. Her waist is almost non-existent. She likes to joke that most of her height is from her long, smooth legs, although that's fairly accurate. Tarenthia doesn't have much in the feminine department, her breasts are well under the average size and she has basically no rear end to speak of.
Tarenthia loves to wear dresses. She's usually wearing her off-white dress with crimson trim. It's strapless and backless, though there are three thin straps across her back, keeping it from falling off. The bottom part is very flowy and goes a little past her knees. There are off-white and crimson lengths of fabric wrapped loosely about her hips. She made this dress herself, along with several others. She enjoys creating clothing and became very talented at it over the years. For accessories she wears a thin black cord wrapped around her neck several times like a choker and that's it. Tarenthia likes to avoid wearing shoes, she loves the feel of the ground beneath her toes. Her favorite sense is the sense of touch.
Personality: Tarenthia's very friendly; she loves to make friends and spend time with said friends. Hell, she'll make friends with just about anyone. Unless, of course, she's perceives them as a threat. In which case, she'll just avoid them. She also has a fear of being alone and really needs to be with at least one person at all times. She can get very paranoid and scared when she's alone. No fun at all.
Tarenthia doesn't have as much pride or self-absorption, despite her looks. In her mind, physical strength is more important than physical appearance. Sadly, she doesn't have much strength. She'd rather run from a fight or hide behind someone than taking a hit. She knows she's weak and one hit could very well take her out! Tarenthia's very reserved and modest, never flaunting the looks she doesn't even care about.
It's sad to say, but she's plagued with something terrible many teens are haunted by; self-consciousness. Everything she does, she does because she thinks that's what someone wants her to do. Tarenthia's a bit of a doormat. If you ask her to run something over to someone all the way across the Weyr, she'll do it without hesitation. Anything for a friend!
She's far too emotional and can get attached to people very quickly. It doesn't take much to make her cry, but it's not like she makes a big show of it. She doesn't get offended easily, but you can tell when you've really hurt her. Her big, blue, sad eyes will widen and her mouth will hang for a moment at a loss for words. Then her bottom lip will start to tremble and she'll probably leave the room to find somewhere to cry in private. She hates when people see her cry. Tarenthia also cries when she gets mad, for God knows what reason. If you make her angry, she'll have an ounce of rage for a split second before it converts into sadness. Poor dear. She's an emotional train-wreck due to her past.
Tarenthia's incredibly cute and doesn't even realize it. For instance; when she feels she's done wrong, even with something trivial, she can give you the saddest eyes you've ever seen, like you just told her you don't love her anymore. Also, she likes to be in physical contact with someone most the time, if not always. Even if it's just sitting together, reading, with your shoulders touching, she notices and appreciates it greatly. She has amazing empathy.
She believes that every action, no matter how insignificant it may appear, has some greater meaning.
Tarenthia's extremely clumsy and sometimes has trouble even just staying on her own two feet. And although she's physically inept at walking and may seem a bit slow at times, she's actually very intelligent. It just just takes her a moment to process the information she's been given. This is the reason why she doesn't care for academia; you're meant to produce answers in a moment without thought. It's all memorization. She loves writing, and reading though. Putting thought and emotion into her work is definitely her talent; you can't do that with just anything.
Finally, Tarenthia is hopelessly romantic. If there's one thing she can't resist, it's a boy with a rose. All she thinks about and dreams about is love, love, love, love, love! She'd give her life for a romantic lover! ... Which is, essentially, what she did. It ended poorly, but her belief in love is unwavering! Tarenthia knows her soul mate is out there somewhere, all she has to do is find him.
History: Not exactly the most pleasant of stories, but it went well for her until a point.
Tarenthia's family wasn't rich, far from it. They lived in a little shack. Her drunk father used to beat her mother, it didn't seem to bother her, but Tarenthia died inside everytime it happened and bawled her eyes out until her mother consoled her. She started working on clothing to keep herself occupied and eventually climbed up to the rank of Journeyman Weaver.
The girl got her first boyfriend at the age of sixteen and her father started on a tangent at her mother. Her father began yelling louder and cursing more and more while her mother just sat there and took it. He thought his wife had somehow convinced Tarenthia to be a very *friendly* person. How that made sense, no one knows. He killed himself, but not before killing her first, so no one really had a chance to ask him.
Of course, with no family, and certainly not wanting to live on her own, Tarenthia eloped with her boyfriend whom she thought was the love of her life. She cared for him so much. Nothing ever seems to go right for the poor girl. It turned out he only ever wanted her for her appearance, so when she refused to have sex with him (she just wasn't ready) he left her.
So, alone, Tarenthia wandered to the nearest place that would take in such a pathetic wreck; Nyocia Weyr.
