Name: J’reth
Age: 27
Rank: Bronze Rider
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Het
Appearance:
A tall man, J’reth wears his blonde hair in two lengths that give him a leonine look. A white shirt, ruffled at the edges and cuffs, accentuates his leanly tanned frame, and the black vest accentuates the blouse. Medium grey breeches stretch seductively over his legs, and disappear into soft black boots.
His face is well-carved, as if by a Master Carpenter, and his thin lips seem like they were made for smiling, and there is always a smile in his two-toned eyes. He was born with one eye blue, and one eye brown, a disconcerting genetic trait he’s never figured out.
Oh shards, just drool over him already!
And here!
Personality:
Every inch a bronze rider, J’reth can come across as arrogant, which he is. Labyrinth doesn’t fly greens because he’s so much better than that. The man would probably settle down well if he could ever find the one, but that day is long coming.
Once, he considered himself far too lofty and high-ranking to associate with any person with less rank than a brown rider. That insufferable attitude gave way to a much more pleasant one when he met Cerridwen, the lovely rider of barred Venuth.
People say he's much more personable since he got a weyrmate.
History:
Born at Nabol Hold, Jareth grew up surrounded by the Hold’s populous fire lizards. He even managed to attach two- Bronze Hoggle, and brown Ludo. His mother raised him with an eye towards the Smith Hall, and as soon as he Turned ten, that was where he was sent.
He did well under Journeyman Torence, well enough that by the time he reached seventeen, he was ready to walk the tables. And walk he did, taking Journeyman knots a bare month after his teacher (now a Master) suggested him.
He specialized in riding gear, forging the buckles that hold riding leathers together. He can to hinges, door knobs, and he can forge keys, but not locks. Jewelry? Well, he’s studied silver- and gold-smithing, but he didn’t enjoy it. The one piece of jewelry he produced during his first few Turns as a Journeyman that he likes well enough to keep is a heavy band of silver, set with a large, rectangular piece of obsidian. He wears this ring on the first finger of his right hand.
At the age of nineteen, he was sent to a Southern Hold to help Journeyman Kornas forge one of the heavy chains that anchored a ship of the Hold’s fishing fleet. He was still wiping sweat from his face when the green dragon flew over the Hold on Search. He, along with one other boy, was picked up as acceptable to dragons, and taken to the Weyr for the old Gold’s clutch.
He didn’t attach, but he stayed on, doing odd repairs and making friends with the weyrlings. When Unuth clutched, he was Stood once more, and this time had the honour of being picked.
J’rethMine, I am exceedingly hungry!
Weyrling practice was fun, until he Flew Thread for the first time. He and Labyrinth emerged from blessed between only to blunder into a long and tangled clump of Thread that hit Labyrinth across the haunches. The resulting score left a red-and black, puckered labyrinth. Messy and often painful, even now, Labyrinth needs numbweed on cold days.
He encountered a rather enchanting young lady at a past Gather, a Jewelcrafter, though he doesn’t know her name. He’s been seeing her around the Weyr, though, which led him to think that she might Stand for the next clutch.
He had been right, and Cerridwen had Impressed barred. They now consider themselves weyrmates, even though Venuth has yet to make her maiden flight.
