Appearance:

Amarna has long blond hair that is never tied back and always looks sort of ragged. Her hair is only tied back and combed when she is forced to look nice for something. Her hair often falls in front of her face, witch she either encourages or unconsciously pushes it back.Her face often has windburn on its cheeks from her running in the wind. She has bright blue eyes that seem to sparkle with delight when she is learning, reading, running with the wind, or riding a runner or a dragon. She has a slight bump to her nose where she broke it when she was 7 turns old. She has an almost square face with a chin button that sticks out with a slight point. Her face normally has crinkles from laughing or smiling, except when she pretends something or is truly sad. In all, her face could be described as joyous.

She is flat stomached and has little to call curves. She is tall in the torso, as well as being tall in the thighs and calves. She has long, delicate fingers that are good for playing a musical instrument and she has big wrist bones. Her thumb is a hitchhikers thumb with a slight point backward. Her calves are wiry from running and yet strong from riding. She stands at 5'8" and weighs in at 120 lbs.

With age comes changes in appearance. Amarna now often wheres riding leather and her hair is often braided and flipped to keep it out of her face. She still sometimes wheres it down, but she does not hide behind it much anymore. She just doesn't care to.

Personality:

She is what one would call brainy and bold. She loves to play fight with knives, though she could never actually hurt someone. She also loves her to learn and read records. She likes riding runners, though she has never actually owned one. She also like musical instruments and helping people. It was a hard choice for her to choose between becoming a harper or a healer, but she decided that harper was better for her. She also like to run even though she isn't that good because she finds it refreshing to have a good run.

She is very outgoing and forward. She would like to succeed at everything she does, but she normally ends up mediocre to bad. She finds that music soothes her, and that running makes her feel happy and refreshed, even if she is worn out. She doesn't care when people tell her that she isn't good at something because she doesn't care what others think of her as. She is a very dominant person and likes to be obeyed, though she has learned how to obey others. listen, and act around others.

Dragons also intrigue her, more than anything else. She loves the way they look and how they always try to protect Pern. She has always wanted a dragon and was so glad when she was given the chance to become a candidate. She also nurses a secret ambition to ride a Violet or Gold dragon.

She and Holleth have become more remote and more companions with each other. They have a very tight bond. As Amarna has grown older, she has matured. She is often alone with Cheacha and Holleth.

History:

She started out as the daughter of a guardsman and a female greenrider. Her mother, Averna was the daughter of a gold rider. Her father, Garmryn, had started out as an apprentice harper but had decided to become a guardsman when he realized that he wasn't that good at music, his best instrument being the gitar and even that wasn't very good. He continued to play in his spare time, but never as a harper. Her mother on the other hand lost her dragon, Ureth, to a flame that accidentally hit them when practicing. Averna lived but her dragon didn't. Averna moved in with Garmyn, and she had her child in tow. Averna and Garmyn were soon handfasted and Averna learned how to weave, a skill she had always wanted.
Amarnakafymrityna grew up in this world with a caring father and a sad mother, but both her parents were kind and wanted her to try everything she could. Her father taught her how to ride and how to play with swords and a touch of gitar while her mother taught her other things. She was also well trained by the local harper. It was then, after trying many things, that Amarna decided that she wanted to learn to be a harper and she was soon apprenticed off.

Amarna loved this new life but before she even knew what was happening, she had been searched. She was taken to Nyocia weyr, the weyr that had searched her, and told that she was going to stand as a candidate. She was overjoyed to try something new, especially if it was with dragons, witch she thought were really cool. And now she secretly nurses an ambition to ride Violet or Gold, though she doesn't really expect to ride something that grand.

She ended up with a new dragon called a barred dragon. It was a green dragon with purple stripes. Her name change to Amarna. Her dragons name is Holleth.

Pets:

She just impressed to her lovely lime green flit, Cheacha (Ch-ee-k-a) Cheacka is sort of a not very smart green that is interested in taking objects, though since she isn't smart, she normally takes them while Amarna is staring right at her. She likes to hide herself in Amarna's hair at the back of her neck as Cheacha is shy with new people, though not new flits. New males especially interest Cheacha. When she gets to know someone, she will come out of her hiding place. Beware though, if she gets to know you, it means she is not above taking cool things to add to her collection (a little pit somewhere outside the weyr.)

Barred Holleth

Name Origin:

An old woman in ‘Mother Holle’, she had girls do chores for her and repaid them as they deserved before returning them to their home.

Appearance:

Holleth’s hide is a very, very light silver-green color, leaning more towards green. Like all Barred dragons, the stripes around her eyes, down her back, and on the bottom of her neck are a deep violet shade that stand out a lot from her light hide. Holleth is a small Barred, reaching only 21 meters in length.

Personality:

As one of the first of her color, Holleth is often mistaken for a Green because of her light hide. Some might still argue that Barred is not really even a new color, just a marking that happened to turn up on several dragons. Because of this unsurity about what kind of dragon she is, Holleth can be a bit nervous around others and seems to prefer sticking to the shadows and never making a scene of herself. If someone happens to call her a Green, she won’t correct them, as sometimes Holleth herself isn’t totally sure she isn’t.
