Appearance: Mieran is about 5'7 and he has a slender build. One of his best characteristics is, oddly, his elegant, long-fingered hands. Actually, they're kind of girly, so he tries not to show them off too much. He is a bit of a baby face and is often mistaken for being younger than he actually is. Mieran has very light brown hair which just brushes his shoulders. His dark brown eyes are rather large, giving him a young, innocent look which actually suits his personality quite well.
Personality: Mieran is a shy, gentle person, and is usually very quiet when you first meet him. He isn't a rowdy type and usually isn't too loud or obnoxious, even once you get to know him. Like any Healer he is very devoted to his Craft and he always wants the best for his patients, whether they have a papercut or a fatal knife wound. Mieran also has a fondness for small animals and children. He doesn't always show this, in case he gets picked on by his friends, but maybe you can catch him cooing over a fluffy kitten or a newborn baby.
In addition, Mieran is a gentleman. He is polite and respectful towards everyone. Perhaps this comes from being the middle child between two sisters, one of them a spiteful scorned woman. He's the type of guy who will help an old lady across the street (if Pern had streets...) or lay a jacket across a puddle for a young girl to step over.
Mieran's biggest flaw is his timidity. He is easily flustered in stressful situations, and he is so non-confrontational that he sometimes ignores a good opportunity so that he doesn't have to get outside his comfort zone. He wilts under criticism and always feels guilty for days if he does something wrong.
History: Mieran was born in Alti'ui hold, the son of two Holders. He was the third child and the second son, and was often unintentionally overlooked by his parents. He grew into a shy, quiet child who seemed content to play with his two sisters and a few close friends. He was always interested in being a Healer and loved to use his friends and siblings as "patients." His favorite turnday present ever was a toy Healer's bag he got when he turned seven. He also loved animals and was constantly begging for a pet. It was the same with dragons, and he never missed an opportunity to see them when some came to visit the Hold, even if they were more interested in his sister Maliana.
He was so certain about what he wanted to do that he became a Healer apprentice as soon as he could, at the age of fourteen turns. He loved being an apprentice, and did well in his studies. He still tried to keep in touch with his family while at the Hall, especially his sister, Maliana.
He was shocked to be Searched, but he could not turn down an invitation to perform the greatest duty to Pern. He still plans to practice his Healing after he Impresses, however.

Dragon Name and Color: Brown Firth
Name Origin: In ‘The Fir-tree’, a tiny fir tree dreams of growing big and tall. It never does, but ends up becoming a Christmas tree.
Age: Hatchling
Appearance: Firth’s hide is the color of tree trunks, a good strong brown and touched with many shades that give him a sort of rough appearance. Little streaks of lighter and darker browns, blacks, and specks of light tan, are all over him. Firth is a medium-small Brown at just over 33 meters.
Personality: Firth is a dragon who dreams big although he is on the small range of Browns. Nothing on Pern could ever hold him back from achieving any goal he wants to make except maybe genetics and he won’t let anyone he knows ever give up on a goal either. An optimistic dragon throughout, he is always encouraging everyone (including himself) to do its best and keep going no matter what.
