The Freeze - It has always been a problem child. In today's peaceful Midcryu, that hasn't changed. The Freeze bars most out of it's frigid lands just with sheer harsh conditions. There has always been some kind of magic surrounding that place, but no one knows how villainous it might be.
Kylar Stern, the bonded of the Black Ka'kari chose not to find out. He didn't venture beyond the frozen borders into the forsaken place. Only a few who go in ever come back out. Cold, barbarians, maybe even dragons and other mythical creatures kill them off fairly easy.
With the Ka'kari, Kylar saw part of that reason most didn't come back. The old magic that left the land constantly in winter let sunlight and other warm things in, but the ground was perma-frosted, as were the skies under the magical dome. The Freeze wasn't the only problem that Midcryu was facing now.
Independent countries in and outside of Midcryu are preparing for war. They want more land, feeling threatened by the empire under the High King, even though the H. King was a benevolent ruler. Most wanted more land for greedy, selfish reasons. Kings hating Kings, like in the old days of Midcryu.
Kylar had spent years in Ezra's Wood, avoiding the Hunter at night and speaking with somehow Immortal Ezra during the day. The Ka'karifer did notice that the Green Ka'kari still resided in the Wood, but as for anything else that Durzo had thrown in in his 700 years were strangely missing. In fact, Kylar didn't know whether his Master had bonded another Ka'kari in his last life, having heard nothing since the Battle of Black Barrow...some 255 years ago now.
The one spy that made it back alive from the Freeze reported only that barbarian tribes were now living together in a form almost like a city. They had Talent shamans, but the magic was sporadic at best. Something still wasn't right, but the man couldn't speak of it, didn't even know how to put it into words.
Now, Kylar and the people of the High King must find a way to bring peace once more to Midcryu before war destroys them all, or worse, softens them to the dangers that may lurk in the dark realms of The Freeze.
What will you do? Who will you be? Will you help stop the war, or will you provoke the people into more violence? Will your shaman awake powerful evils and invade all of Midcryu? Will your mage be able to defeat whatever the Freeze cooks up? Or will you be a mighty warrior, a bonded of one of the Ka'kari? Time will tell, choose and see the world saved or fall into darkness.
Will you become an Angel of Darkness?
