Freyjath tore into the herdbeast with rather more violence than she normally used. This might be connected to the fact that rather than watching the small green feed, her rider was leaning on the corral wall staring out at the bowl.
Or maybe the cause and effect were different. T'mar had never found taking his dragon to the feeding grounds to be his favorite activity as a rider, and she seemed to be in a bit of an odd mood today. Just a little off.
Oh well. She was a green, and although she was a long way from the typical green, she was not at all immune to the moodiness of her color. Just that she generally expressed it in a rather quiet, almost coy manner. She did not so much flirt with the males as invite them to flirt with her.
He finally turned around. "You're making a mess, Freyjath," he informed her. Not a tidy feeder today, not at all.

"Ah, but there's no fun in eating tidily."
F'ynch grinned easily as he watched his own dragon dive for a meal, then leant back against the fence the other rider was leaning against, though he faced the dragons. He'd never really noticed the different moods Truth expressed when feeding, probably because the blue was always in a disgustingly happy mood when it came to feeding time. It meant that he wouldn't be hungry and could continue his efforts with finding himself a mate or simply a pretty green to flirt with.
Lucky that a green happened to be feeding here then, hm?
F'ynch rolled his dark eyes slightly at the trail of Truth's thoughts, marvelling how the tiny blue could still notice the green while eating off his own meal. Whether Truth was a messy eater or not never really mattered to F'ynch, since the sheer pale shade of the dragon meant a bath either way. "May's well let her have her fun." He wasn't sure he knew this rider, wasn't sure if they'd met beyond passing greeting. The name wasn't familliar, Freyjath... Nope, not a green Truth had pursued yet then. Oh really? How remiss of me. "I don't know if we've met before, I'm F'ynch, Truth's the blue runt."

"T'mar, and the not so ladylike one, right now, is Freyjath."
Becoming aware of the blue's presence, Freyjath did her best to hide within her own wings, not wanting to be admired, particularly. She was definitely one of Nyocia's less typical greens...shy when most were outgoing, coy when most were shameless.
"Freyjath, he's trying to admire you. Let him." T'mar grinned. The two were, in some ways, similar in shade...one green and one blue, too, but both about the same amount of pale, although Truth lacked Freyjath's milky sheen.
Did she look a little bit different today? T'mar was definitely not sure.

"Pleasure."
It was the only response F'ynch could think of, he'd never really been good at introductions. He thought it would be much easier if everyone was born knowing everyone else's names, much like fire lizards did. Snappy certainly knew things that he'd never been to exposed to, so F'ynch had to assume that story about firelizards sharing a collective memory was true. Not that it was important, at the moment, the rider infront of him was important, especially since it was F'ynch, not T'mer that initiated the conversation. "It's not good for a lady's health to be lady like all the time, y'know." Grinning again, F'ynch shrugged one shoulder in a dismissive gesture.
Truth was both amused and surprised by the green's shyness, he was more accoustemed to green's being bold and flirtatious. However, the shy movement - practiced or no, Truth couldn't tell - endeared her to him and the blue went as far as to speak to her. Normally he waited until the green made the first contact, or simply admired from afar. I see nothing to be shy about, Freyjath... You are a very lovely green. He all but purred the words, mental voice ringing with the sincerity of one who loved to give compliments and believed every one of those compliments was true. That wasn't to say however, that Truth wasn't a skirt... tail? chaser. He was, any green that took an interest. But he loved each and every green for that short time between flights.
"Yes, do let him. Gives me an excuse to admire the rider." Winking playfully at T'mer, the amused note in the blue riders voice was a clear indication that he was only joking around. Though the quick survey he gave the other rider suggested that playfulness was only half the issue in his mind. After all, if Truth was allowed to look, why wasn't he?

Freyjath actually stretched her wings at that, You think so? the green purred, losing her shyness to the compliment.
T'mar frowned a little. "Well, that's not exactly her normal behavior." He studied his green. "She's very on edge today."
He had a feeling he knew why. It was a little late. It was inevitable, as inevitable as Rukbat's rising. But he couldn't be sure...not knowing, yet, what was typical for his young dragon.
But he was starting to have a growing suspicion Freyjath might just be a little bit proddy...

Naturally, you are the most stunning green I've laid eyes on in a while. Nodding his head in time with his words to add sincerity to them, Truth practically purred at the young, shy green as he spoke. Not that he'd been around many green's lately, so the statement was true, just like it would probably be true for the next green. Such a flirt, Truth was.
The comment on the other man's dragon made F'ynch blink in surprise and then shrug, "Green's often go off colour, usually before rising. Is she close to rising?" He figured the young man would know by now what his dragon's schedule was by now, and the only reason F'ynch really knew anything about greens was how often Truth chased. He could know a green's rising pattern due to how many times Truth chased that green in a turn. Sometimes, it was frustrating, but most of the time, the man didn't mind at all.
Truth chuckled at the annoyance that flashed across his rider's mind in reference to him, but quickly lost interest in whatever his rider was doing as he purred right back at the green. I think you are most stunning to look at. Far prettier than a gold.

T'mar frowned. "She's a little overdue if anything...it'll be her first when she does go up." Freyjath was fully grown, and as dragons did not show signs of aging until their riders hit decrepitude, it was truly hard to tell how young the green was.
"So, yeah. I reckon she's probably about to do it." He studied his green for a long moment. "Inevitable."
And he was not particularly worried about it. Given he liked both men and women, he did not have to worry about waking up next to somebody not his preference...although most of the female blueriders were homosexual, so it was unlikely any relationship would develop there.
"I have a feeling that blue of yours is eyeing her up, too."
Freyjath actually looked right at the blue. Had she had eyelashes, she would have fluttered them. Why, thank you!
"And vice versa. Yeah. She HAS to be proddy..."

"Well, don't worry. It's not frightening, really. It's just getting used to not being yourself. This won't be your first time, will it?" Huzzah, personal question! F'ynch had been a part of flights since he was fifteen, so he was well used to the routine, but at the same time, they didn't really talk about it in the Weyrling classes anymore, did they? They didn't encourage relationships of a physical nature before the dragon's first flight, though for the life of him he didn't know why. Better to be comfortable than not.
A short bark of laughter met his comment about Truth and F'ynch shook his head slightly, amusement darkening his eyes, "Missed that, did you? Truth is like that, he liks the ladies. If she rises, he'll chase, blasted blue." Rolling his eyes as Truth merely flicked his tail at his rider, concentrating on the green.
T'was my pleasure. Truth purred and glanced over at F'ynch who snorted and waved a hand in dismissal. "Probably, yes. She not normally a flirter?"

T'mar shook his head. "She's not. She's normally pretty shy and has to be coaxed into believing she's not the least attractive green in the Weyr."
He then tilted his head. "No. I'm not a V, don't worry." He was young, but he'd done some experimenting before he Impressed to Freyjath. "Fortunately. I wouldn't want the first time to be all caught up in dragonlust, especially if its a guy."
He should make sure to take certain precautions...just in case. And there were slightly more male riders likely to chase and catch than female.

"It's not really anything to do with that, it's more being comfortable with yourself, Flights aren't generally about you, they're about your dragon. It's alot easier in the morning if you're comfortable with yourself." F'ynchsupplied, shrugging one shoulder absently mindedly as he watched the green and blue flirt. He hadn't meant to pry if the green rider was offended, but he felt it was his duty since he was the one standing there when his green was proddy.
Thoughtfully, he watched the green. Some greens were shy, he knew that, but it was rare that they didn't take the chance to flirt. Maybe it was something to do with T'mar, maybe he didn't like flirting. Maybe that was why she was happy to engage now? He wasn't sure, after all Freyjath wasn't his dragon, so he could hardly know what counted as normal for her. He only knew what was normal for greens.
"Well, Truth is bound to chase, he always does."

T'mar nodded. "Well, I have one advantage over most of riders. I don't care if I get 'caught' by a guy or a girl."
Which had to reduce the likelihood of morning awkwards. Of course, he could still wake up next to somebody he didn't like...but he couldn't think of anyone he didn't like in the entire Weyr. People he didn't know well, sure, but there was nobody he *disliked*.
He simply wasn't the kind of guy for that. "He's one of those who would chase every female if that wouldn't wear him out completely?"

"In flight, most people don't." F'ynch supplied, not really bothered himself. It was more in the sense of those who wanted a lasting relationships that he was picky. Personally, he just didn't find women attractive romantically, he was comfortable with them as friends, just not as anything else. Over the turns, he'd learned to take what he could get when it came to a relationship, and with how often Truth chased greens, it wasn't like it bothered him anymore. Relationships, evidently were lasting things that weren't for him for some reason or another.
"Probably, he's chased a gold before. Wasn't the smartest thing in the world to to, but he enjoyed himself even if he didn't win." Truth loved Flights not just because he loved females but because it was a chance to show off what he could do. Flying and flying for no reason other than to fly that was why Truth loved flights.

T'mar laughed. "Some blues seem to get that idea every now and then. I can't say I blame them entirely."
He glanced at his dragon. "In flight, no, but then there's the morning after. Not having a strong preference might help make that a little bit less awkward."
Of course, knowing his luck, he'd be 'caught' by a female bluerider who didn't normally do guys and *she* would be all awkward. "She's such a lovely green," he added, more quietly. As if afraid Freyjath would hear him and it would go to her head.
Not a normal worry, but she seemed so much more assertive right now.
