Y'xem's eyes got a little distant. " Do you remember when the day you Impressed? I doubt anyone can forget that day...it was a wonderful day." He smiled, " I wondered for a while why Alduth didn't chase and when he did, why he held back...but then he caught Nayarath...and I knew. I can't really express it. It was one of the better days, up there with Impression...to know that your dragon is that in tune with you."
He smiled at Kora and rubbed her shoulder. " I don't know what you felt that night, and you don't have to tell me...I just felt elation really. You can't really call it a word."
Alduth crooned. He's sharing his feelings with her...that's something new.

"Yes..." Kora couldn't think of much more to say than that. Impressing seemed like a sort of personal thing to her... all dragonriders went through it but it was probably unique to everyone. When Nayarath first spoke to her... that had been magical, but it sort of scared her too.
"You couldn't really." There were plenty of things beyond describing, that was definately one of them. Lilac peered around Kora's neck at the shoulder Y'xem's hand occupied, her eyes following his hand's slight movement like a Terran hawk watching a mouse.
Nayarath rumbled. Mine isn't. She would have liked it if Hers did, but doubted Kora could bring herself to do that quite yet. Nayarath would just have to teach her someday.

Y'xem smiled at the fire-lizard. " What is it little Violet? Do you want to try to eat my hand? I could give you a pet...?" He laughed a soft laugh, more to himself.
" You know, I don't think that we have really settled anything today...except that we can look at each other now." Y'xem grinned over at Kora. " Do you have anything you want to talk about? Anything at all."
He wanted her to talk...to get to know her. " Come on, please? The more you talk, the better I'll know you."
Alduth gave a long draconic sigh. I suppose that she may eventually open up if she has the time. Who knows?

Lilac snapped jokingly at Y'xem's fingers, not meaning to get at all close to actually biting him and not doing so either. But Kora gave her a sideways glare and the Violet drew back with a subdued chirp. The Goldrider didn't want her fire-lizard to joke around with biting, in her opinion it could easily lead to the real thing.
"I'd say that's a good step forward." Kora shifted uncertainly. She didn't just come up with subjects for conversations... or at least not particularly good ones. What did she want to talk about? Kora had no idea whatsoever. It was totally automatic to depend on others making the conversation and her just adding to it. And so she remained nervously silent.
Hopefully. Nayarath glanced in the direction of the garden. Hers was nervous now. They'll never get anywhere if Mine can't learn to talk though. Nayarath sniffed lightly.

Y'xem paled. " What? Did I say something wrong? Am I making you uncomfortable?" What had he done? Maybe he shouldn't touch her shoulder...or what...Oh Faranth!
Had he just undone all that they had worked on in this little time frame...undone it in one minute!? Great, just great.
Alduth yawned. If she can't learn to talk, and if he cannot learn to stop worrying. Really, this egg stuff was boring...but Alduth was here for Nayarath, not the eggs. His children would be the best result aside from his mate...but eggs were boring.

Kora looked down nervously. Now everyone was worried again. Could they get nowhere? "No, no... sorry." She couldn't think of anything more to say and so just twirled her flowers in her fingers and watched the petals spin. Lilac arched her neck to watch too, crooning softly with fascination.
Nayarath grunted unhappily. I think they are getting worse at both, she sighed. In an attempt to help Hers, she sent a little mental encouragement, but wasn't sure just what that could do.

" Maybe we should talk about the Weyr?" Y'xem suggested, trying to salvage the conversation. He watched the little flower twirl in Kora's hands as he spoke.
Alduth rumbled in slight amusement. Y'xem is still trying to salvage the whole thing by talking about the Weyr. Maybe it will work. He laid down in the Sands and watched Nayarath with whirling eyes.

"We could." It was probably a good idea, although Kora had to work to hide her disappointment at going back to that subject. It was what she felt she was supposed to talk about, as Weyrwoman, but couldn't help but think there were more interesting subjects.
Lilac chirped, she didn't care what they talked about very much. Maybe they could talk about her and how amazing and beautiful she was, the Violet would like that.
Maybe, Nayarath rumbled softly. They are a funny pair.

Y'xem sighed. " Well...maybe we need some time alone to think. I know I have some things to mull over, and I'll get back to you soon. How about that?" He smiled to her, stretching his legs to get prepared to stand.
He slowly got to his feet, and at the same time bent to kiss her cheek. " Now don't let any of this spoil your good mornin'." He grinned at her.

"It sounds alright." Kora stood too, trying to hide her dissapointment at Y'xem having ended the conversation so suddenly... if one could call it a conversation. It was probably her fault anyways. I'm going to come join you again at the Sands, alright dear heart?
The Weyrwoman flushed with surprise as Y'xem bent slightly to kiss her... well, at least it didn't look like he was mad at her. "I won't." She smiled weakly back.
Nayarath shifted her position again, glancing expectently at the entrance to the Hatching Sands. Well, don't waste time saying goodbye. She liked having Kora with her... Alduth's company she liked but Kora was the Gold's closest friend.
((So is it over now?))
