Sitting Alone(Open)

Talet sat in the candidate barracks except he sat in the darkest corner of the room he could find so he would not be noticed. He held Iron in his arms petting the little firelizard. It was really the only thing he talked to these day. He found this kind of strange, but he did not care Iron had kept him company in his loneliness for a long time now. He was glad he had came here to maybe change that, but he was starting to get the idea that that would not happen. Oh well It was another in a line of many failures. So it was not really a disappointments. He just sighed and conutied to stare out of the dark into the room around him.

"Hi, I'm Amarnakafymrityna, though you can call me Amarna. Are you new here, I am. So how do you like it so far?" Amarna asked, her eyes shining and her fingers fingering the hilt of her knife for comfort. Her knives were her pets almost, she always kept good care of them. It never hurt to make sure your knife was in good condition. It was strange that this boy was sitting in a corner by himself, but maybe that was just because he didn't know anyone. Well, it never hurt to say hi to anyone. Maybe he was one of those sensitive kids that cared about what others thought of them and was unhappy because someone had something mean. Well it didn't really matter, she would and could be nice anyway.

Telat just looked at Amarna for a sec with a thousand yard stare. Then he thought She didn't do anything thing no reason to be mean. He then looked back up at her and said " Hi my name is Telat."

Iron then wanted to aslo talk to the new person so he sliped out of Telat's grip and flew and landed on the girls shoulder and chriped a greeting at her. Telat then said " That is my little friend Iron. He is really my only friend." He then thought and said " Yeah I guess you could say that I like it here. Its better then were I came from."

He then observde the knife in her hands this made him smile and he pulled out his own knife and began to twril it through his fingers extremely fast. He made it go faster then he decied to not go to fast so he would not hurt himself. He then said to her " I guess when you don't have many friends you have to find somthing to entertain yourself."

"You like playing with knives too? I love my knives, but everybody says I need to stop. They say there is no reason to learn to fight with knives and to take care of them like I do, but they are so special to me," She said seeing Talet playing with the knife. SHe then admitted sheepishly, "My knives are my pets, they always get top care." She smiled at the little flit that had come over to greet her and said, "Well hello little one, it is nice to meet you." She then turned toward Talet and said, "It is so nice to meet you. Your little flit friend is so nice too." She smiled and decided that this young man was better than she had thought he would be. She then added, "Knives are an obsession you might say, part of my wish that I could do everything in the world, but I am not really good at anything, sadly. Some say I am weird, but who cares cause I sure don't." She was feeling chatty at the moment, and she soon realized that she had been gibbering and stopped herself, she knew it wasn't good to talk at people.

Telat smiled and said " You could say I like playing with knife's. I though used to have a unhealthy obession with them." He then decied to trust her and he pulled up his sleeve and showed her the scar's up his arm.

He then said " There are 31 scars. I know becuase I made them. each one very painful. They now have a lasting impression." He then held up the knife bettewen them examieing it. He then said " It was this knifes brother that made these scars."

He then sighed and said " Yet that knife is gone along with that part of my life. Which is what this new knife sysbolizes. I now have a healthy obession and can weild it very effectavlly." He then smiled and said " If you are worried you are talking to much don't be. I don't talk egough."
