Candidate Rules:
1. To Candidates, the Candidatemaster’s word is law.
2. Every day the Candidatemaster will assign Candidates a list of chores. Check the Chore Wheel in the Candidate barracks for the chore your Candidate have and make sure they do them.
3. Intense relationships between Candidates are not recommended, and if your Candidates find themselves in one, they had better be ready to break out of it if they Impress a dragon.
4. Upon coming to the Weyr, your character will be placed in a cramped dormitory room, with only a bed and chest to their name, that they will share with 1 to 3 other people that they most likely will not know. Tensions could arise.
5. No pregnant women or physically/mentally handicapped people will be allowed to Stand.
6. Candidates can be between 12-22 in age. If a Candidate has been living in the barracks but never Impressed and ages past 22, they can move out and become Weyrfolk of some sort or leave to live in a Hold.
After the Hatching takes place, most, if not all, Candidates will return home. Every person is needed so there is no time for them to lollygag around the Weyr when they could be helping their family/hold by plowing or harvesting in the fields, herding animals, or practicing their trade.
The only way for a Candidate to stay at the Weyr is if they find a useful way to employ their talents, aka if there is a job opening somewhere. If your Candidate has no useful trade skills, that job means being a kitchen, laundry, latrine, or some other menial worker. Not the best jobs in the world.
Getting a job at the Weyr is not guaranteed. Your characters request must be approved by the ranker in whatever position it is trying for and by both Weyrleaders.
