K'met camly prepared the fire stone. This was a basic knowledge lesson, where the weyrlings would see their role in thread fighting right now. Ketara and Axeth would act as "weyrlings", while he and Heverth would pretend to flame. then, all the weyrlings would learn a little bit about fire stone from whomever they had learned about dragon healing from in the lesson before. Then the dragons that could flame would do a practice flame.

For once, Ketara was the first in the classroom. She was ready to this next lesson, even eager because Axeth got to have an active role in it.
But why do I have to be a sharding weyrling?
Because I don't want to tick K'met off anymore than I already have!
Axeth subsided, muttering under his breath (figuratively speaking). Ketara nodded to K'met, and leaned against the wall. She was so not worried about today. Firestone- something she could handle in her sleep!

Ah, for once maybe they could be on time! Johannesth was still plotting his revenge on J'kyl and Grimth, so although that wasn't what N'ren would have liked his dragon to be doing, at least the Tan was doing something. And at least he hadn't come up with anything that Jo thought could possibly lead to success, so N'ren didn't have to worry.
Apparently Johannesth was hoping for more inspiration if he saw the pair again though, and so, for once, was eager to get to the Weyrling lessons. N'ren walked alongside the dragon as they entered the classroom, Tak and Torch on his shoulders. Firestone! They could smell it, and suspected they could help. If anything, N'ren hadn't been able to keep them from coming.
"Hello Weyrlingmaster, Ketara." N'ren nodded to both and then their dragons. He didn't know what Ket's title would be, Weyrlingmaster's Assistant was too long. Johannesth glanced at both and then flopped down in his usual spot near the back of the room. Axeth, as usual, didn't look happy and the Tan was happy to avoid the Blue.
~~~
Aleyi and Jerglith bounced in, Brooke flying beside them because perching on the girl's shoulder was too much trouble and Jerglith didn't like it when the Gold landed on him. "Jerglith and Aleyi are here," she announced as they paused somewhat in the middle of the room. There weren't many others here for her to just stand by... and that made deciding on a place to go hard.
Well, I like the middle. Jerglith cheerfully planted his rump where he stood and looked up at Heverth waiting for the lesson to start. Seeing that Hers was standing still now, Brooke fluttered to Aleyi's shoulder and perched there, staring down on everyone as best she could.
This was something R'mer needed to learn about. He had not been at the Weyr long before Impressing, and thus had not had as much experience handing firestone as some of the other weyrlings.
Tinth was in a grumpy mood. I don't feel like a lesson, Mine the volatile blue whined.
And will you not feel like flying fall? We have to do our duty regardless of how we feel about it
Tinth grumbled but subsided, following his rider to the lesson. While Tinth was growing rapidly, R'mer had distinctly...shrunk. Even he couldn't stay fat on a weyrling's schedule!
He even had muscle now. A bit.
V'ire wasn't late this time, he was sure of it. He and Elisth walked in and took up a position where they usually sat. This room was going to start getting crowded...even though it was big. This was a fire-stone introduction right? Good. Hooray! We are learning about fire-stone! YAY MINE! Elisth bounced around happily waiting for the lesson to begin. ********************** Jacklith was actually eager to get to the lesson this time. Tell me Mine, which one is it? She wasn't ugly was she? I can't believe I was asleep the whole time!!!Shut it Jacklith, focus on the fire-stone lesson. Z'ris wasn't really going to be able focus too much on the lesson because his eyes kept wondering over to her. He could still remember how everything felt...he shivered.
So what do we do Mine? Do we have to go? Maiath trotted sedately by Zadari's side, but once again begged teh question of attending again. She didn't like attending the lessons, there were so many people there that she'd never spoken to, that Hers said she should talk to.
Maiath... It's firestone, something interesting. You'll be okay, just focus on the lesson. Zadari nodded at teh weyrling master, moving to teh back of the room at Maiath's request. Again, firestone, something she'd used before. Maiath might not be interested, but Zadari was rather interested to see how Ket explained, how they took on the lessons.
Crystal cheeped from her shoulder, the little violet taking up her usual position by curling her tail around Zadari's neck. As long as that annoying blue wasn't bothering her, she was happy to be at the lessons with Hers, it was when Scuttle came along that the violet started to get frustrated. He was just so... Silly!
---
Mermaiyeth was of two minds about the lesson, Beka was exhausted, following along sedately where she would have argued. Hers needed to stop having dreams, but apparently, nothing Mermaiyeth did helped, and that annoyed her. Alot. Don't fall asleep Mine. Please. You need to pay attention. I'm fine, Mermaiyeth. Fine. Her rider's response was quick enough for her, and the barred nodded slightly before glancing around for someone to sit with.
Jacklith, you decided to come this time? Were you so very bored then? I find the lessons interesting, if a little annoying. Wandering over to sit next to the other dragon, Mermaiyeth turned her head to even greet Z'ris with a sweet sounding croon. I hope Yours is well? Mine says hello, as do I. Of course, Beka had said no such thing, but she didn't say so. Instead keeping as close to her dragon as she could, while staying as far from Z'ris as possible.
This was deffinately one lesson D'mas didn't want to miss! Every weyrling must have shared the impatience he did, waiting for the day he/she could see their dragons flame! Kayth had picked up his rider's excitment and froliced in happiness, much harder to do now her was oh so much bigger now. The bronze was the 3rd largest dragon from the clutch, tieing for size with a huge Tan.
They had never been late for a lesson before, but they were normally one of the first to arrive. He nodded to K'met as he took a place amongst the others.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Inolyn sat to the back of the class, mostly for Jorindath's sake. The violet had no intention of accidently blocking other's veiw in this lesson. Flaming was an important lesson, one which Jorindath was a rather special member. While golden queens couldn't flame it had been proven violets could without any ill effects. Still, they young pair wouldn't see the kind of action the others would. Upon graduation they would join the Sahane Wing aka the queen's wing.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Maideneth had developed he oddest habit. The active little green had once bounced off the walls but now she had learnt more self control. Having plonked her rump on the floor her tail flicked and thrashed randomly and having been accidently hit more then once Earisa pushed the green to the side of every class
Settle down my, lightning green. You'll get a chance to run around later But it's just so EXCITING!!!
Yes, because Zenniel hasn't been here for so long, she will randomly post in this lesson. Yay for her! Anyway, let's just say both Zenniel and No'ln were in all the lessons. That way I won't have to read anything else. 'Kay? 'Kay. So let's begin...
Zenniel had stood silent at all of the lessons. She was shy, and she wasn't about to change her ways because of some dragon. Even though she loved Cindellath, her shyness always prevailed. Cindellaths' personality didn't help, either. Usually she didn't listen to anything Zenniel did, because Zen was never good at reverse psychology. Either way, the girl found ways to trick her dragon into doing things. Just this morning, when she wanted her little green to wake up, she told Cindellath not to. Cindellath, of course, woke up. But the green was mad at Zen, if only for a little while, becuase she hadn't wanted to be awake.
Now Cindellath stood tersly at her side. What are we going to do today, Mine?
Not knowing whether or not Cindellath would be in her 'reverse whatever you say' mode, she just simply said, "Fire stone."
Cindellath had been looking forward to chewing fire stone. What dragon hadn't? The two made their way to the room and were surprised to see people there before them. It didn't matter, though... at least they were there.
Quite the opposite of what Zen did to Cindellath, it was Hanseth who woke up His. No'ln rolled out of his bed, falling with a loud thump on the floor, and Hanseth laughed. "It's not funny." No'ln said, massaging his rump, but he got up and dressed. The bronze, which wasn't so little anymore, was sitting much like a dog would, but he looked funny. Either way, No'ln was up, and he was laughing. What's wrong? Hanseth asked, and stood up.
"Nothing, my dragon, nothing. You just looked--" No'ln couldn't bring himself to finish his thought. He would laugh again, which, obviously, distressed Hanseth. Hanseth had been a nice replacement for Pandorath, but no dragon could ever replace the little blue.
No'ln shook his head, clearing his mind of his old dragon. "Come on, let's go. We'll be late for the lesson today." And Hanseth readily agreed. They made it to the lesson in good time.
Ash'n Ash'nmine, We're going to be late if you don't hurry up! I don't want to be late again today, mine. You said fire-stones was the lesson right? Isn't that importent? the little green dragon known as Peath said from the edge of her life-mate's bed as she gave him a soft nudge with her snout. It was apparent that she didn't like to be last to anything, yet that seemed to be the case often enough.
The boy on the bed, that had been looking up at the ceiling deep in though, turned and looked at the green dragon with a look of surprise and realization. He had been so consumed in his thoughts that he hadn't realized the time and boy did he feel stupid... Leaping to his feet, the boy, who was apparently Ash'n, started to pull on his shoes as he shouted out, "Shards, I'm going to be late again! Thank you for reminding me Peath," as he shoot her a brief smile before putting on the next shoe.
We wont be late if we run, Mine. Lets race to the lesson! Wouldn't that be fun, mine? And we would get lots of exercise doing it as well! Please can we race to the Weyrling lesson? PLEEEEAAASSEEE!?!? Peath said as she waited for hers to get his final shoe on. She could feel excitement rise up in her as she started to pace back and forth, trying to contain the energy that tried to ripe through her like a wild fire.
Ash'n couldn't help but chuckle at his dragons playful pleases for a race as he swiftly ran to his mirror and ran a hand through his wavy hair until it look halfway decent. Once this was done, Ash'n turned to find his beloved dragon pacing back and for so fast he thought she might run into a wall if she lost control. He couldn't help but laugh at this as he said, "Alright, fine! We can race to the weyrling lesson. Just stop doing that before you run into a wall, love." He watched as the little dragon stopped pacing back and forth and ran to the door.
Her tail swished back and forth in excitement as she waited for hers to start the race. She watched as hers opened the door and then moved to stand beside her. "I will win this time, Peath! Go!" Hers said as they both started to shoot through the barracks in the direction of where the weyrling lessons would be held.
------
Peath ran into the classroom and came to a complete stop right in front of the door way, almost running into one of her clutch sisters as she did so. I win again, mine! You need to build up some stamina or you will never be able to keep up with me, the green dragon said with a rumble of laughter and a Bugle of triumph as she turned to face the door way to find hers stumble in out of breath. Oh yes, hers needed to build up his strength and stamina alright. But she could help him with that in many ways and she would.
Though her words did irritate him slightly, Ash'n knew that the little dragon was only kidding so he shrugged her words off and stumbled into the nearest chair were he could catch his breath and rest his legs. He really didn't like racing, but he really couldn't resist it when Peath asked him. She was just to cute! He watched as Peath sat down beside him and he said, "You are a evil little thing you know? Sweet. But evil."
D'ian Not long after Ash'n and his dragon Peath entered the room, a rather irritated looking D'ian walked in with a rather irritated blue dragon, who could be no other then Dwarth, on his heels. It was apparent that D'ian still couldn't seem to accept the blue as his dragon, even though Dwarth did look rather cute and harmless... When the dragon was asleep that is. It had been all to apparent that Dwarth wouldn't tolerate being ignored by his and it often lead to D'ian getting head butted, whipped by the dragon's tail, or (When Dwarth was really irritated) bitten. Of course, Dwarth never bit his bonded to hard. After all, though he didn't like the way his treated him for the most part, Dwarth still cared for his bonded a little, even if his bonded didn't feel the same way.
From the way D'ian was holding his arms and the way Dwarth stomped around all someone had stomped on his tail and wouldn't get off, it was all to apparent that today had not been a good day between the blue pair. It had all started early that morning when Dwarth was rudely awakened by a flying boot to the side that had been casted by his irritated bonded. Of course this sharding action greatly irritated the irritable dragon. Then again, what dragon wouldn't be irritated after being stroke by a flying object? Yes, his had been trying to wake him up by doing this to him. But Dwarth would have preferred the less painful way of being awakened with a soft nudge or something along those lines. But no, his bonded had to throw something at him! Was it so horrible that he was a blue and not a bronze like his wanted? No, Dwarth didn't think so. He was way just as good as his bronze brothers and he knew that. He just had to make his see it as well.
Of course, after being so rudely awakened, Dwarth was instantly thrown into a bad mood and, do to his ill-temper, he managed to tail whip D'ian twice and bite him once when his raised his hand against him. If this was the only way he could teach his not to be so rude and violent towards him, he would do it tell it worked. He didn't mind giving his a taste of his on medicine when he deserved it!
D'ian glared at Dwarth once again as he started in the direction of a empty chair. It was a clear warning not to get to close to him, but Dwarth didn't like this glare that his gave him. Greatly angered by his bonded's attitude towards him, yet again, Dwarth shoot his tail out in front of his, just as he was passing by to reach the empty seat, and sent him sprawling to the floor. A rumble of satisfied laughter came from the blue dragon as he watched his bonded hit the floor. That's what you get for being a 'sharding dimglow' as you say. Dwarth said, throwing the words his often called him back at him. Oh yes, he felt much better now that he had gotten that out of his system. He wasn't so sure about his bonded though.
D'ian had never been so angry in all of his life. Or at least that was what he though as he lay where he had fallen, trying to get his temper back in check. The last thing he wanted to do was throttle his dragon in front of all the other Weyrlings. Then again, he wasn't so sure if he would do it even if they weren't there. Faranth knows why! The little irritation would deserve every minute of it. How embarrassing it was to be tripped by ones own dragon! Then again, he should have seen it coming the moment he had started to walk past him. He swore that the dragon had it in for him!
When he finally had himself under control, D'ian pushed himself to his feet and thought to his dragon alone. Don't you EVER do that again you hear! were the only words he sent to Dwarth as he continued to walk towards the seat that he had chosen, trying to keep his temper in check still. The only reply he got from his dragon was, I'll stop when you stop treating me like I'm lower then dirt. Yeah, as if that's ever going to happen...
Amarna and her Holleth came at a run to the lesson. She was not going to be late even though she had waken up late! Once she had entered she let out a sigh of relief, she had made it! She obviously wasn't the first, but at least she wasn't one of those poor late comers. She always felt slightly sorry for late comers. Looking around she wondered where T'lat was, he wasn't normally late. (OOC: more post later, no time)
D'rshan raced after his brown, fumbling with the ties on his tunic as he went. Princth was very excited to learn about firestone, but that didn't mean he had to run off! Frowning, the young man lengthened his stride, arms pumping as he began to finally gain on his dragon. Who knew that Princth was so fast!? Even as a baby, he was graceful in a way that only dragons could be.
Slowing as they approached the room where the lessons were held, D'rshan slipped in right behind Princth, settling beside the brown toward the front. This will be fun, D'rshanmine!
We must not be late again! Peasanth nudged his rider along, almost tripping him a few times. You're getting too big for that, Peasanth, L'noen said, catching his balance. Peasanth relented and left his riders to his own devices, which allowed them to move to the lesson in a much more efficient manner. They joined the other weyrlings, Peasanth swishing his tail back and forth impatiently. The blue was very excited to learn how to use firestone.
I don't know about this, mine... Firth said a bit nervously as he and M'ran arrived at the lesson. Some of the weyrlings looked a mite too excited about flaming. M'ran patted the brown's muzzle reassuringly. C'mon, Firth, dragons were meant to flame. Firth snorted. But just thread, not for fun!
Meagen was going to be late again, and it was her dragons fault.. AGAIN. She hated being late, to anything really, she did she did! Currently she and her dragon where trudging to the lesson, she had a bucket of cold water, and was splashing Toath with it each time he started to fall asleep. She felt horrible about missing lessons, she knew she couldn't graduate without them.
Finally they made their way to the training area, and Toath collapsed, snores tearing from his throat. That was until she upended the whole bucket on his head. The cold water splashed all over her feet, and she stared up at her fair that where floating in the air. They vanished with some popping sounds, and where probably off hunting.
I'm up I'm up! Why can't I sleep, I'm tired...
(( Possesses K'met's Body)) K'met gave a smile as the weyrlings settled in. " Alright everyone. Now pay attention as Heverth gives a demonstration on how to correctly flame. We won't be using fire-stone for the demonstration, but watch how he inhales and then exhales." Heverth slowly inhaled like he would had he been flaming, then let out a great breath that would have been a flame had he had some fire-stone in his second stomach. An easy demonstration. " Now let's move outside and Ketara will demonstrate an actual flame before we give you all a small piece of fire-stone to practice with." He led the way outside to a rather large section right by the lake where there were small pieces of fire-stone in a pile. He motioned for Ketara to demonstrate. ********************************** (( To get this done, this is after her demonstration)) K'met nodded to the weyrlings now. " Now, Weyrlings. Come up and get a little fire-stone. Now, when you have your stone have your dragon chew it and think of their second, or fire-stone, stomach." He smiled at them as they started up. " Chew it up good now, and when they are ready...have them flame in a safe direction. Remember, they have to regurgitate the fire-stone after they use it." Now, they had to wait...
When it came to his turn, R'mer examined the firestone, making sure he got smaller chunks. Well, not the smallest, there were several dragons here smaller than Tinth.
"Okay. Second stomach." He handed the blue a chunk. The noise as he bit down was startling and the blue actually jumped.
R'mer laughed.
It sounds weird!
"A little more. And make sure you keep your head turned this way."
Tinth took a couple bits more stone, then sat on his haunches and spat a small flame. Did I do that?
It had really been a rather pathetic flame, but R'mer supposed this took practice.
Jerglith watched Tinth curiously as the Blue chewed his fire-stone, his eyes whirling with amazement when his brother actually spat a flame. How did he do that? Jerglith looked at Aleyi curiously.
Firestone I guess. Aleyi shrugged. You can try now. She handed her own dragon a chunk of the rock. "Chew carefully, and make it go to your second stomach, okay?"
How do I do that? He accepted the chunk and began chewing slowly, finding it odd to be munching on a rock. Meat tastes better. He commented.
"Think of it I guess." She laughed as Jerglith mentioned the taste. I'm sure it would. Jerglith finished chewing his first bit and swallowed nervously, then accepted another one. Not much later the little dragon belched a flame. It was small, but he gave a happy trill of excitement at the triumph.
Look Mine, I did it too!
Z'ris listened with rapt attention to K'met, far more so than Jacklith who was far busier trying to pry into Z'ris' private thoughts. Jacklith only got curious about the lesson when they moved outside. What are we going to do Mine!?" You are to do a small practice flame Jacklith. When we get out there, just pay attention." Z'ris rested a hand on the Bronze as they walked outside to the sectioned off area and the pile of fire-stone. After K'met told the weyrlings what to do, Z'ris grabbed a few small pieces of fire-stone. " Here Jacklith, chew them well and think of your second stomach. Then swallow and flame!" Z'ris was confident in his dragon. Jacklith chewed well enough and swallowed. Inhaling deeply, the Bronze weyrling let out a spurt of flame that was bigger than the Blue's flame, but still small. He was rather happy with himself. ********************************** V'ire was attentive, though Elisth bounced around him in cirlces throughout K'met's explaination. The Green didn't even stop when they started to walk outside to practice for the first time with fire-stone. She was full of energy today. Minemine! We get to flame?" Ha, Yes Elisth. Now here." He had taken the liberty of using her bounciness against her and already gotten their fire-stone. He fed her the pieces which she spat out. " Now Elisth, it may not taste good...but you have to chew and swallow it to flame." At that, the Green chewed it nicely and swallowed quickly, thinking on her second stomach. She gave a small burp, which erupted in a tiny flame. V'ire laughed. Didn't burn your lips did it dear heart?
D'rshan went and grabbed a handful of firestone from the waiting sack. Smiling brightly at Princth, he extended his hand to the brown, offering the powdery black firestone to him.
"Just grind that up with your back teeth and swallow. Then think about your second stomach, and we'll see if you flame."
The small brown sniffed delicately at the firestone but ate it anyway, grinding it carefully and swallowing. After a long moment, he exhaled a small burst of flame.
Warbling happily, he nosed D'rshan. I did it D'rshanmine! Aren't you proud?
Johannesth and N'ren watched the young dragons practice with their first flame, and finally came their turn. N'ren grabbed a small handful of firestone from the sack and offered the first piece to his Tan.
"Like the others said, grind it up and swallow, thinking of your second stomach. Alright?"
Does flaming take effort? This was what Johannesth didn't get. The old dragons seemed to be able to hold back and belch flame whenever they chose, but all of the dragonets seemed so shocked when flame left their mouths!
"I have no idea." N'ren gave Jo the first piece and the Tan chewed it quickly, then swallowed. "Maybe not so fast," his rider warned as he gave Johannesth another bit. The Tan glared at him and didn't listen, and suddenly he winced and coughed, the half-chewed stone falling from his mouth.
I bit my tongue! Jo gagged briefly and a small flame from the first bit he had taken erupted from his mouth. But that small triumph didn't quite distract the dragonet from the stinging hurt in his jaw and he looked up at N'ren unhappily.
"I guess we can go see a Healer after..." He glanced at K'met, hoping the Weyrlingmaster wouldn't be mad at them.
