So, Doc came out last night for routine vaccines. I got my pregnant Barabian (Bar/Arab) checked out- pregnancy progressing normally. But my baby, Jewel...She suffered a blunt-force trauma to her left eye, rendering her completely blind in that eye. She needs around the clock care, which we're taking in six hour shifts (which is why I'm typing this- otherwise, ya'll wouldn't have heard about it until the decision was made.)
She's thrity-three, which makes her prognosis less than stellar, but otherwise, she's very healthy, which helps. And the around the clock care will make a big difference in whether or not the eye will be able to heal. Part of her medication is a very strong painkiller called Banamine, which is to alleviate the pain. Doc described it as 'excuriating', which just puts the stake in my heart, so to speak. I can't bear to see my girl in pain, so when he comes out Monday...I might have him put her down.
So, don't look for a lot from me until Tuesday, possibly later if I have to put her down. Can you blame me? Sorry if it bursts your bubble, but I got a LOT of stuff on my plate right now- RPing is gonna have to take a backburner.

Update:
Doc came out a little early, so Friar got pulled out of school. The infection had cleared up, and she was in considerably less pain. That's good- the main thing I was worried about was the pain. The bad news, however, is that we didn't catch it in time to save her eye. She may be permanantly blinded in her left eye, but I'm really not too concerned about that. She's had cataracts for years, and she'll adjust to less vision. (Does NOT stop her from trying to convince me that she CAN see out of that eye, and so band into something. We're gonna have to work on that.)

She had a relapse, and tomorrow...I'm probably gonna put her down. Sorry, guys!

I know, why can't they live forever... or at least as long as you. ._. Then you would never have the heartbreak. My cat died one 1/2 years ago. It was horrible.
