There had been no bronzes, B'can mentally noted as he sat on the edge of Apolloth's couch. No queen. Several barreds, one of which had chosen a male rider...they were like greens, then, preferring females but choosing males sometimes. He hoped Apolloth would never fly -that- barred. Or a male ridden green.
The tan was now asleep, his tail tip twitching. B'can was able to appreciate his dragon's appearance whilst spared from the force of his personality.
Tans were supposed to rank below bronzes. He had a feeling this one would not agree with that assessment. Would probably not settle for anything less than weyrleader.
B'can would, he knew, have to rein him in, be the practical one. But there was also the fact that Apolloth was so -beautiful-. "Such a special color..."

Why is K'dricMine so sad?
K'dric wasn't expecting Minervath to pick up on his mood, probably something he should get used to.
Already, he could feel the stigma of having Impressed a female dagon. He'd picked his bed in the Weyrling barracks, one of the first because he'd raced out of the Sands as fast as he could. Slow as though that was, as the former farmhand was too muscle-bound to run very fast.
I...life suddenly got very awkward, my heart.
How? I am K'dric's, and K'dric is mine, and NOBODY can come between us!
It's not that simple, heart. Do you see any neighbors?
The little barred swivelled her head, looking around her shelf-like bed.
No. Why do the others not like Mine, did he do something bad?
K'dric sighed. This was going to be tough. He had to explain the implications of a Flight to a Hatchling. The worst part, though, was that K'dric didn't know that much about Flights himself.
Besha didn't know what to make of the big-wingy-thing that had his master so confused. He placed his big paws on the wooden shelf, relatively unmarred by the few dragonets that had slept there. He ran his tongue over the silvery hatchling's wingtip, snuffling happily.
Dun wasn't ready to sleep. He and His had moved from one bed to another, something the little Tan didn't quite understand. What he did understand, though, was that there were baby dragons around! He made a beeline for a large Tan, sleeping, but his rider was awake. He landed on the boy's bed, and if fire lizards could giggle, he did. He hadn't seen one of his own color that big!!

B'can glanced over at the little tan firelizard. "What is it? Never seen a tan dragon before?"
Maybe it hadn't...they weren't that common, yet, and being between bronzes and browns in size should stay relatively rare. His own brown, Guess, chirpled back to the tan, and then sort of shrugged his wings.
Now, where had the little tan come from? It hadn't popped out of between, and he tried to backtrack its flight.
He saw one of the barred riders sitting alone, apart from the others, but Apolloth's couch was a good distance away, the sizes tending to group together. So, from this distance he could not accurately determine the rider's gender. Anyway, he or she was talking to their dragon. He turned back to Dun. "Go ahead, take a good look." He paused. "You're a few shades darker, though, little one."
The dark markings, though, were quite distinctive.
