Need a partner in crime? well, writing wise any way. I've noticed the decline in new topics and despite being labled 'OPEN' no one likes to interupt a developing story.
So I thought to start this thread to so we can line up characters. Weither for love, rivalry or just to use a character we haven't written for in a while. This also might help a lack of ideas and fight muse blockage.
I'm game for anything, what do you think?

All four of my active characters (Friar? Can you -please- do something to get the wher people out of Hatching limbo) need threads.
R'mer - blue weyrling, Pernese Fairytale, gayboi, needs friends and possibly a romance interest in the longer term, i.e., when he gets out of weyrlinghood.
B'can - tan weyrling, umm, the second weyrling group, -has- a romance interest if he can wait that long. Would love to do some training threads.
Gwenduinne - white weyrling. Would love to thread with anyone interested in dragonhealing (But I -must- look at the tiny dwagon), and definitely open to weyrling training stuff too.
T'mar - green weyrling. He'd love to discuss flights with an adult greenrider.

Hmm... well, I like never use J'ran. =P He could use something to do. Brownrider, Ekirith, Wingleader, sort of a boring guy. Dunno quite what to do with him which is why he hasn't really been doing much. Amirinth has been feeling like swimming lately, maybe we'll find K'laon at the lake or the cove thing place... Amirinth would also love to be a Weyrlingmaster type creature if Franny would allow it. x3 Tirasha doesn't have much to do until Nick comes back. =P She could always poke at Tyrth, although Nixsha might kill her for it. Tianthe usually flies around late spring-summer, so it's always fun to bug her. Kora and Nayarath also don't have a lot to do with Nick gone. Maybe someone with a metallic could come a-flirting to prepare for her next Flight (it's a ways away, but headstarts are always good). >.> If our weyrling queenriders feel in need of talking to someone with a bit more experience, they could always rp with Kora too... although I don't know how helpful she'll be. Salise needs something to do to... she's another character I don't use much. =P Weyrling of Barred Artemisth, shy, but she needs friends and is probably more likely to get along with girls even though she's only ended up rping with guys so far. That's probably what's given me the dead end with her. Pari is stuck at the wher hatching and I think N'ren and Aleyi will survive for now... so that's about it for my characters.

I know how your guys feel, I have Lianly stuck at the wher hatching. I sence a twist in in the time/space paradox concerning the whers, and we might need to carry on without friar... I don't want to but if she doesn't soon it pretty much kills all wher activity here (the only other wher we have is my Itunas and bronze Itusk)
Inolyn and violet Jorindath are up for anything. She has only come close to forming a romantic interest (writer disappeared). She was winning in the poll for most beautiful (or was it sexiest?) female character before it disappeared. I can't wait till she's finally done with weyrlinghood >.<
R'mar and brown Aresth (clutch 2), Zukah and barred Valkyrith and K'nam and brown Erith (CLUTCH 3) could use some weyrling games.
Sparrow, if you need someone to flirt with Kora then L'han is always open. I dont think a metalic (aka bronze) should only have a chance at weyrleader expecially when tans are on the rise and half being of fairly large bronze size. But if you want to stir a bit of chaos and disorder, how about my weyrling bronzerider, D'mas? *evil laugh*
And I guess that just leaves Earisa and her near skitzophrenic green Maideneth to mention.

Well all things running, I am actually going to get Shori back into roleplaying soon. He's almost out of his slump, and he actually feels that you guys won't welcome him back here... Wanna help me show him otherwise? We need some more evil plotness going around. D'ian is a perfect bad guy, and Dwarfth is the grumpiest blue we will ever find.
Meagen could use some conversations, friends. Her Fire-Lizard shop is no longer a storefront, but she still sells harneses and nameplates for fire-lizards. She could also use conversing with other females or males in odd impression predicaments. Maybe some straight boys that impressed to a Green? Or a girl that impressed a Blue or something like that? You can't tell me she is the only Straightish person impressed to an odd classed dragon?
Ahhh well Cerridwen is kinda in limboishness. Venuth is meh, and really I made her for Friar really. I do hope Friar comes back soon. -waves the I <3 Friar flag-... But she could use some talking to other sorts.
Well... there is a lot of drama on the part of the MasterHealer, she has threadings she will be doing with Gwen thats a given. But she also needs a possible love interest maybe? Something to take her mind off the fact that she is just... well... let's just leave that part alone. She is aging, and something of another matter we should work on. We need to put out a site wide update on profiles. If our Dragons from the first clutch are near flying and such, and are doing so... That means all our riders are well over a turn older(from that clutch.) I think that a site wide character update, is probably needed. TO keep things updated, and in right orders... ne?

Earisa could have a talk to Meagan about her 3 firelizards (green, blue and bronze) cause she's got her hands full with her over exertive green. With the first clutch able to fly i think they are a turn old....
Doesn't that mean the greens would be near mating age? and they're all still in weyrlings hood...
And why would Shori think we wouldnt welcome him back? A lot of people have disappeared this past month or two but we still miss them

Isn't Spunky near or at mating age too?

it was written somewhere that the firelizards were maturing in the next two seasons. Males in Fall and females in Winter, but i have a feeling we might need to seriously cut down and monitor clutching firelizards or we'll be drowning in them. I think cut gold/violet clutches to about 7-10 and green/barreds 3-5

RAWR! Don't forget about Phly. Yeah, I've been a little slow catching up on posts and whatnot, but I'm going to try and boost myself along. I've gotten over a personal dilema that I think was affecting my RPing, so I think I'm good to go. As far as characters, there's Bry and Voluspath Pern's newest gold pair. Brylorea is still trying to fit into her shoes as a future Weyrwoman while Voluspath is yanking her along for the ride. She would love to do some type of Weyrling training in regards to her future duties (and my own character development for her). Speaking of, Bry herself does have a romantic interest, although it will be some time in coming before she can act on her instincts . Then there's K'ton who has suddenly found himself becoming more and more timid despite the fact that he's Impressed a dragon who would normally inspire leadership problems within him. He might need some help coming out of his shell and realizing that he's still K'ton, despite the fact that he's Impressed to bronze Vikinth. Next we have H'rik whose trying to find a happy medium between Weyrlinghood and harpering. Now that he's actually bonded to a dragon, he's going to have a difficult time actually devoting himself to his former life of harpering. He's got it in his head now that he's Emblath's rider that he wants nothing to do with the Harper Hall. Unfortunately, they want everything to do with him. Lastly, we've got my personal favorite brown Weyrling Lenia. She's probably the biggest jerk out of the entire Weyrling bunch. Although she needs a few good friends aside from her little flitters and, of course, her brown Odith, she's going to find it very hard to secure a friendship with the not-so-friendly attitude she possesses. Luckily for her Odith is quite prepared to stick his brown little neck out and force her to socialize-and rebuke her if necessary- if her personality frightens off a potential buddy-or love interest!

No dragons from Nayarath's first clutch are near Flying age, and so none of the others could be either. I have no clue why that was brought up when they're hardly a Turn old.
And sorry about the metallics thing Jenth... I meant Tans and Bronzes but was in a hurry and that was faster to type, even though it was wrong. *brick'd*
As for flitter Flights, we don't need to play all of those and deal with hatchings and stuff. The average Green will lose her clutch because, unless her owner is extremely attentive, she'll lay it somewhere stupid and it'll get destroyed (like Tianthe, who enjoys using ashes from cooking fires in the kitchens... then a pot gets set on them or they get mashed when the ashes are swept away...) and plenty of flitts could just Fly somewhere, get caught by a wild male, lay it somewhat in the wild, and forget about the clutch. If you really want to act out a fire-lizard flight, it's simple enough to have it happen, then give eggs/hatchlings to people who want them and hand the rest off to NPCs. We have an unlimited number of them. So I'm not too worried about that. And yeah Reine, Spunky should be able to Fly by now. :3
And Ame, I would love it if Shori came back! D: I'm sure everyone here would welcome him if he came back, he shouldn't need to worry about that.

Well I have a few ideas for you Phly. Inolyn might be a violet rider and still a weyrling but she's had a whole year older and going through nearly the same thing at Bry. Also she's still latched onto her Harpering so she might do well with H'rik (might have heard the rumors that she wrote the hatching song herself and not believed)
I really want to use D'mar and Kayth, i haven't written for them in a while....

Yes, I'm still alive! NaNoWriMo is taking precedence for me right now. I might not be able to post much until December, but my characters could still use some plots!
I have Shador, my Violet rider, who I haven't really posted with in a while. Kelth is probably going to rise soon, so maybe some bronze/brown/tan suitors could try and charm her? (Not too hard with Shador, lol). Or maybe someone could actually fall for her and try to convince her to commit. Friends are good too, maybe some good girlfriends to gossip with.
M'ran is a brown weyrling and apprentice Healer. He hasn't had much time to practice his Healing since he Impressed, but he is starting to get interested in Dragonhealing, so maybe he could talk to one of the other Healers about it?
I've felt pretty meh about L'noen for a while, so any kind of friend/love interest/enemy to renew my enthusiasm in him would be great.
S'bri is my newest weyrling. He needs anything and everything. Maybe he could teach someone how to juggle? xD
Like the other wherlings/wher candidates, Roksana is kind of stuck in limbo, but since she does have a wher, I guess I could post with her.
Teval is the Lord Holder, and I haven't had much chance to play him. He's single, so maybe the non-dragonrider girls would be trying to woo him and become Lady Holder? xD He likes guys too though, so I see potential for some kind of weird love triangle. He also loves dragons, so if a rider visited the hold, he would probably bombard them with questions and try to get a ride.
...Oh yeah, I almost forgot R'lyr! He's my blind blue rider. He's kind of in limbo since Archer left, but I would love some posts for him. He's probably my favorite, and I haven't had a chance to play him in a while.

Well, if Nixsha is busy with Gwen and Tyrth, Tirasha could teach M'ran. Now that she's gotten off on the wrong foot with him it would be great fun. K'laon and Amirinth have a thread open at Firecliff Cove (A Game of Tag), anyone could join it, preferably riders though since the cove can be a little troublesome to get into. But anyone with a mind to do so could access it so... it's pretty-much open to whoever. Aleyi would love to learn to juggle. *imagines this* Jerglith would love to see it too. ;D And have fun with NanoWriMo Kat. A lot of my friends are trying to do it but I'm too chicken to even attempt it. xD Too much writing in too little time. @.@

That reminds me I was going to creat a non-rider character, but I've already said no more then the nine I already have... I'll have to give it a think, before I go nuts and end up writting for half the weyr ^^;

Hmmm I wouldn't mind making a Non-Rider Crafter, probably a Harper. She could be the one assigned to the hold. Oh that would be a scary thing to see... Harper and Holder falling for each other. XD That could end in tragedy!

My girl I was going to transfer in was a tailor, and we don't see many of those at all. She has been my only successful non-rider (before someone said 'lets search her!')
Her site is now dead, but that doesn't mean she has too and she was one of my favourite characters ever written. Magic number 10 is deffinately going to be my limit before killing some off *dramatic tension!*
HORRAY!!!!!!!!!!!! The whers have finally been hatched! All those characters are now free of their prison from time and space and I hope to get their first lesson up soon.
And talking about lessons, Why did you stop the betweening lesson? the senior weyrling hatched 4/5 months ago real time and are 1 turn old InPlay time. We are behind schedule! lessons have actually been held up in the past when franny took some time away a couple of months ago from which Nick had to take command and get things rolling again till she got back.

I just said that they weren't leaving Weyrlinghood soon. In all the sites I've been on, it's two Turns. It seems like everyone thinks they are two Turns... but they're not. o.O They're hardly one and so let's just get that straight.
Pernese Fairytale: 1 Turn Heavens Open: About 1/2 a Turn Norse Legends: A few sevendays
=P Are the Weyrling Lessons supposed to end a Turn before the weyrlings graduate? Because that's what's gonna happen.

Weyrlinghood has always been one turn for me. Greens and males reach maturity a turn and queens 2-3 years, as laid out by Anne McCaffery. Sure, they haven't fully mirged with the weyr in their second year but that due to inexperience but they arent weyrlings. Dragons also reach 70% of their full size at one turn so we have nearly fully grown dragons running around and lessons are only half complete.
Unless of course we're desiding to be uncannon about this, but Nick will have to be informed for when he comes back.

In Dragonsdawn it states very clearly that the males aren't mature until 1 and 1/2 Turns and Golds at about 3. =P The dragons have grown since then, but I don't think they mature any ealier. I've always thought Greens matured at about two Turns.

|
Post by Jenth on Nov 11, 2008 18:47:23 GMT -5
Was that mature or fully grown? Ramoth flew her first flight a 2 and a half (who was still thought to have maybe a tiny bit of growth in her) and she wasn't the only one noted to do so. Greens and males would be no different in maturing differently due to individuality and the current situation.
Still, that said would still prove that lessons should be taking place as we still have about 5 to get through with 2-3 months real time to do it in with graduation at the current rate of seasonal changes. We are on track with lesson 7 for the senior weyrlings.
