After Aivas claimed to abolish the deadly threads from the skies, the weyrs disbanded, riders scattering. This worked for a time until the dragon's numbers started to deminish and havac racked the land from lawless men. Two riders, K'mart: Bronze Mendeth's rider and Talma: Golden Granmardath's rider, gathered what riders and dragons were left together to form one weyr high in the mountains. Disease had swept through the land, diminishing the population to just a few who gathered under one hold and the halls. By banding together, the lives of the people of pern were saved.
Now, three hundred years later, it is a new generation's turn. In the senior queen's last clutch, she layed a golden egg and from that golden egg hatched Samanth, mother of her race and partner to Shannon. As this young queen reached maturity, her dame went between, never to return again. Leadership has now fallen on Shannon's shoulders and not too soon for Samanth is going to rise soon and it is only a matter of time before she flighs. Come, make history with us.
