Appearance: Nevirin is a tall, well-built boy. He is well-muscled form years of working with runnerbeasts and his skin is bronzed from hours spent in the sun. About 6’1” in height, his is done growing by now.
Neviren’s hair is thin and a very light blonde. It is about shoulder-length and he keeps it up in a short runnertail most of the time so that it’s out of the way. Thin, shorter strands always escape the bands that hold his hair back though to frame his face. Neviren’s eyes are a cool blue and a little close set against the bridge of his nose.
Personality: A little near-sighted, Neviren often mistakes people for being someone else if they look at all similar and he hasn’t had a chance to really inspect them. He has never been one good with names either and is constantly forgetting those of other people. Because of this, he likes to come up with nicknames for others; for some reason he can remember those better. His memory isn’t bad in any other areas though, just names.
Neviren is a workaholic to the core. He always needs to be doing something and that something needs to be useful. Candidate chores don’t bother him at all. Lazy people do not go well with Neviren though, in fact, they irritate him to no end. He can’t seem to understand how some people can just sit around doing nothing and feel content with it when there is some much around that could be done! He’ll probably be one of the Candidatemaster’s favorites since he is always willing to do extra chores for no reason at all.
History: Neviren’s parents raised runnerbeasts for racing and the boy was only one of several sons who helped out on the farm. Two of the boys were small and thin, like their mother, and they ended up eventually getting to work as jockeys for the family’s runners. The other two, Neviren and Novor, were taller, stronger, and got to work with their father in all the harder work of raising runnerbeasts.
To ensure that none of the runners ended up scared of fire-lizards, there were always lots around the farm, wild and tame. When he was young, only about five, he Impressed his first: a Brown from the clutch of a Gold flitt his mother had. It was much later, when he was twelve, that Neviren Impressed his Blue Torch.
It was when Neviren was sixteen that he originally got Searched. He arrived in time to stand Unuth’s first clutch but didn’t Impress. He’s hoping he will at the next one he stands at, or at least some time before growing too old to be a Candidate.

Brown Fire-lizard Tak
Age: 17
Appearance: Tak’s hide is a normal shade of brown but speckled with darker shades of blue and brown. The specks are especially common on his shoulders and face while there are practically none on his stomach and the inside of his legs. A large Brown, Tak is about 36 centimeters long.
Personality: At fourteen, Tak views himself as old. It isn’t really old for a tame fire-lizard, but he apparently thinks it is and so acts like he’s old too. Now he’s come up with himself as being a ‘teacher’ and likes to spend time with the ‘younger folk’, teaching them how to behave like a gentlemanly fire-lizard. (Whatever that is.) Torch is his most important subject and also seems to be the hardest for Tak to have any influence on.

Blue Fire-lizard Torch
Age: 10
Appearance: Torch has a dark blue hide but his head is brighter, a glowing white-blue like the blue occasionally seen in fires. Other than that dramatic change of color on his head, Torch’s hide remains very much the same shade throughout. He is a medium-sized Blue at 26 centimeters.
Personality: Torch is an insane fire-lizard. Some people say that all flitts are insane, but he is like the epitomy of that. He is always running, jumping, flying, moving somehow and chatters practically nonstop too. When Neviren goes to sleep, Torch is awake and when Neviren wakes up, Torch is awake. Either he never sleeps or only does it in secret when everyone around him is doing it too and so won’t know. AT least his boundless energy serves him well when he chases Greens…

Name Origin: In ‘The Traveling Companion’ Johannes’ father dies and so he goes on a journey to figure out the meaning of a dream he later had about his father’s spirit.

Appearance: Johannesth’s hide is a very light tan but streaked with darker shades across his shoulders and hindquarters. The stripe along his back is especially dark, although not quite black, it is a very, very dark brown. He is a small Tan at 33 meters.
Personality: Johannesth is not *quite* a lazy dragon. He will get up and do things when asked to, but he has a habit of always finding the easiest path out of anything and for the most part just avoids it in whatever way possible. It’s not that he’s lax, but simply doesn’t ever feel particularly inspired to do anything. Even talking is something he seems to avoid- what really is there to say about anything anyways?
