The appearence of the mystery riders that had suddenly fallen from the sky was causing more and more questions, but it had been mentioned that they weren't the only two. The greenrider had been rather stuburn, obsessing herself only in the care of the injured brownrider who had bearly been concious since arriving. The only one who was really talking was brown Aeth. L'han nearly cursed for not having been in the Weyr, instead discussing ground crews with Lord Teval at the time. Well they were here now, but what was to be done with them?
Giving a welcome to Nayarath on her couch as he passed to Kora's rooms, Wuith too giving a rumble in greeting in echo from his ledge not far away. The Hatching only days before had freed both of them from having any further involvement with the violet pair, much to L'han's delight. "Kora, are you desent?" He asked as he tapped on the door. Nayarath would have warn her well in advance, but it was at least polite to knock.

Mine, Wuith's is coming for a visit. Kora sighed softly at the derisive sniff that accompanied Wuith's name; Nayarath was taking her time getting over the Tan catching Kelth. And now her eggs had hatched, revealing he had sired a few new colors, which did even more to steal attention from the vain Gold.
Do you know what for? She would bother her dragon about being rude later.
There has been plenty going on lately that he could have good reason to talk to you about.
That was true. Kora stroked Squeak absently, the kagen had made a habit of always being within hand's reach since being taken in, and the Weyrwoman liked having the furry little animal near. Lilac and Soot squabbled too much to make them particularly comforting presences. Squeak jumped a little when a knock sounded, he hadn't been warned of L'han's approach.
"Yes." She opened the door. "You want to come in?" Squeak peeked, as he often did, around Kora's ankles and up at L'han. Soot and Lilac were elsewhere, probably hunting, and probably arguing about who was better... or at least arguing about something. It was lucky that L'han had chosen to come while they were absent.

"If I may," the tanrider replied as he stepped in. It took him a moment to notice little Squeak hiding from behind Kora, as it always did. He was kinda a cute creature, but L'han had fallen for that trick before and had been landed with an ill-tempered brown fire lizard. Thankfully, Terror was else where or his hisses and screaches might startle the timid Kagan half to death. That would never get L'han on Kora's good side.
"I thougth it was best that we discuss Liona and S'saer, and what we should do about it. It's my understanding that they aren't the only ones who isolated themselves." This was nothing new to Kora, he knew she and Nayarath had tried to question brownrider S'saer before he colapsed when he first arrived. "The question is, do you think they could be a problem?"

At the mention of Liona and S'aer, Kora felt Nayarath's immediate flood of dislike of the pair, and their dragons. The Gold would have liked nothing more than to get rid of them, but Kora wasn't going to kick them out of the Weyr when the Brownrider still needed help. As far as she knew, he was healing, but slowly.
"I think they could be, especially if that Green doesn't learn some manners," Kora began slowly. "Nayarath wants them out as soon as possible, and preferably before that. I don't think they're feeling much desire to hang around either." As far as she could tell, Liona had been against their coming in the first place, but Aeth had made a decision that seemed final among the pair. "If more rogue riders come, that could be bad too... but it's been a few days and none have showed up, so I'm thinking that's not going to happen."
Maybe they're all scared. Nayarath sounded quite pleased with that idea. And when is the Green leaving? Nothing is wrong with her or Hers.
Moral support, dear heart. Think you can manage to keep out of this?
No.
"What do you think?" Doing her best to put Nayarath out of her mind and keep her out, Kora turned her attention on L'han again.

L'han ran his fingers through his hair, deep in thought. He really didn't know, but with Nayarath upset the immedeate thought was to get rid of them but he knew he couldn't support that. A rider was injured and as a Weyr they needed to help him. And while the greenrider wasn't exactly coming about as the most pleasent of people, she and her dragon kept Aeth calm in this truamatic time.
"S'saer can't be moved till he's recovered, and while he's here its always comforting to see a friendly face..." Kora more or less probably thought the same thing. "I know Nayarath hates it, but they might be here for wuite a while while S'saer heals..."
Sorry Wuith... the tanrider apologised to his dragon. The gold may not be very happy with either of them after this. Sighing, he took a seat. "I also guess that trying to persuade them to stay on at the weyr might also be out of the question to our dear Senior Queen."

Kora nodded. "I don't think she minds S'aer's getting help, she just doesn't like the dragons." Nayarath expected everyone to treat her like the almighty queen, and the Green, and even the Brown a little, had done a very good job of getting off on the wrong foot. "But I don't think we can help that much... I'm not expecting them to start living like us when they've obviously chosen not to."
But they have no excuse to not respect a queen. Even wild flitters had the brains to do that.
I know that, and if they're outrightly rude, we will make them leave, alright? But they're under plenty of stress. Nayarath had already made a strong effort of making what Kora had just said clear to the rogues; if too much trouble was caused, they would all be gone.
"I think persauding them to stay would be out of the question to them. I doubt they like us much either; we have healers helping S'aer, but I haven't seen many signs of people really getting along." Liona had been put in her place eventually, but Kora doubted she wanted to remain there.

"Who knows where they're been hiding for how many turns and I doubt they've even seen a gold for turns. The benifit of the doubt could be that they just dont know how to act, and that they're grateful for the help." They had saved the brownrider's life, at least he and his dragon would be grateful. L'han chuckled for a moment in rememberence. "Isaith seems gittery about our new colors, nut her rider has bearly acknowledged them. I get the feeling Liona will be swayed by whatever S'saer thinks, she seems very attached to him and they're dragons haven't been seperated."
Still, he wouldn't admit that the greenrider was quite a beauty. L'han was sure a number of male riders were just waiting for an opening to try and move in on the rougerider. Was he not become acting weyrleader, he knew that he would be one of them. No, he had to be more composed then that. Responcibility sure did change a man.
"Do you think Y'xem will ever be himself again?" Off topic, he knew, and as far as the tanrider knew it had been a pretty bad accident. Still, it had been loo long and he should be back in the ranks

"Probably not." Who knew if they even had Bronzes among their ranks; most, if not all, the Bronzeriders had come to the Weyr just at the implication of becoming Weyrleader and having queens to chase. Pity Kora and Nayarath didn't have any particular interest in any of them, and Voluspath and Brylorea were already showing a preference for a Tanrider. "It just seems like it would be instictual to treat a queen like so, or at least a dragon bigger than you with respect."
Maybe they don't believe that I would bite their heads off. Nayarath had to put that in, and she rumbled softly where she lay, quite enjoying this whole idea.
"Not that Isaith can have much effect on the new colors." Kora smiled slightly. "It's good that they're all keeping together though,"
And that the Greenrider is definitely the follower type once she's been properly put out,
"Makes it easier for us, I think." Kora scowled slightly at Nayarath's interruption, but L'han couldn't have heard it so she was quick to hide it again.
"Y'xem?" Kora shrugged. She couldn't keep up the illusion of an injury anymore, last she had heard he was fancying some Greenrider. It figured. ((And that's a story that goes way back... xP)) "I doubt it." Nayarath put in her own good riddance; she had let Alduth catch her to get the Weyr a back-up Gold, but wanted nothing more to do with the Bronze.

L'han nodded, listening to everything Kora said. Not all things could be intimidated by those larger then themselves. In all aspects Aeth, a brown, was showing he had a mind of his own that went above any dragon he knew of. Even Nayarath herself. The dragons were slowly changing, their coloring was only the start and who was to know if the 5 traditional colors would eventually bred out.
It wasn't all that long ago that L'han had been poked and prodded about Wuith, unsure if he was a strange brown or something completely different like violet Kelth. It wasn't the greatest of feelings to not know your place in things. Who knew what Liona did amoung the rouges, though the greens would be held in special aspect to reduce the natural sexual tension in the male dragons being the only females available. To the rogues she might be the closest thing to a weyrwoman, she was certainly pretty enough to catch the eye.
"I know you had feelings for him..." It wasn't hard to have noticed, you would nearly have to be blind. L'han wrapped his arms around he Weyrwoman in a gnetle hug. "It'll be ok, with Nayarath's first clutch there will be a few new bronzes to choose from." What he didn't say was, he was just a tanrider who didn't seem to qualify for a true Weyrleader.

Kora shrugged, wondering why that had to be the only thing L'han commented on. She sat stiffly through his hug; Nayarath didn't like that at all or she maybe could have appreciated the comforting gesture. "Supposing a Bronze catches," Kora said quietly. "Nayarath and I haven't been too impressed with them thus far." Much as the Gold didn't like the idea of letting herself get caught by the same color of dragon that had caught a Violet, there weren't a lot of Bronzes to choose from, and neither rider nor dragon knew any of the new Bronzeriders well.
"That's not what you're here to talk about though, right?" Nayarath's next Flight was looming closer, but it was still a ways away, and until it happened Kora wasn't going to bother with its implications.

((a brown and tan caught kelth, and with her unhappy with bronzes Nayarath is kinda out of options xP))
L'han almost laughed as he let her go. "You really haven't changed much, have you?" Ever since weyrlinghood he had remembered she had always chosen to be somewhat distent to the opposite sex. It was almost cold and emotionless, well at least when it came to flirtations and such. Truth be told he hadn't changed much either, he was nearly as tringy and lanky as he had back then as a pubesent teenager with his hatchling tan.
"No, it wasn't what i wanted to talk about but it came up accidently. Nayarath was never one to have anything but the best." And for her not to choose a bronze would seem like just that, though he wouldn't say it. Only about half the tans rivaled bronzes and even then there was few enough. Only 4 mature tans total. Certainly she wouldn't choose a brown...would she?
"Is there anything you would like to discuss then?" L'han asked, he was here so he might as well be breifed on any problems or shortages in the lower caverns and supply caverns. Maybe she saw a fault in asigned sweep or watchriders, it could be anything really.

((Yup, she'll just have to deal with a bunch of dragons she doesn't like... She doesn't really think about that though. =P))
Kora smiled slightly. "No. But neither have you." At least in appearance; Kora hadn't made a point of getting to know anyone well during weyrlinghood... so she couldn't say much about anyone's personality.
"She isn't. But the best is always open to change."
Not for change, for more thorough judgement. Nayarath snorted. If someone thought the best changed, then that was like implying that one day Nayarath wouldn't be the best Gold on the planet. Or at least in her opinion. Kora really had no idea how her dragon got to some conclusions, and didn't comment.
Distracted by Nayarath, it took a moment for L'han's next question to register. "Not really. Thread'll be falling again soon, and I guess you'll be leading that. Lots of fun for our newly graduated weyrlings, huh?" Hopefully nothing bad would happen to them. ((I do think it would be fun to run another Threadfall now that we've got a bunch of newbies to it... but we'll start it faster than last time o.O)) "There aren't many problems about, past those that Nayarath is busy creating though."
From where she rested, the Gold snorted. She did not create problems, she just was the only one to notice everything wrong with everything around her.

"But if she wasn't the center of attention one way or the other she wouldn't be our Nayarath" Had he said anything else the tanrider would be in more strife with the gold. He wouldn't be surprised if she took offence though, Wuith and him did nothing right apparently since Kelth's flight and been getting worse and worse. He was sharding glad that Kelth seemed unable to lay more the 15 eggs, or Nayarath would be fuming mad.
"I'll be ready to lead the wings, and I'm sure the former weyrlings are excited to join the wings for real. I just hopre they remember what they learnt or they're in for a scoring they'll never forget." At least half of weyrlings got injured, minor or worse, in their first couple of Falls. It was something they all went through, except queenriders who rarely had more then a few clumps to deal with at a time. Of course, once again he wasn't going to say anything remembering Nayarath had been hit in the first of the Pass.
Something was plaguing the tanrider's mind, which was why he brought up bronzes before. "Im not looking forwards to being replaced as Weyrleader, Kora, even if I didn't earn it through the traditional manor. Guess I couldn't have it that good forever." He gave a small chuckle, but his heart wasn't in it. L'han seemed genuinely serious for nearly once in his life. Not all that long ago he was scrambling to make sure he was doing his knewly given responcibilites to the best of his ability, it seemed a waste now...

"No." Kora laughed. Nayarath decided not to take offense at that too, the Gold could take a joke every once in a while. She didn't plan to change, anyways. Everyone knew she was the only thing at the Weyr worth paying serious attention to. Kora rolled her eyes; L'han's comment had the dragon on a roll now.
"I really doubt they'd forget, fear does that. Their problem will just be lack of experience." But that would change soon enough. "It'll be interesting having a third queen in my Wing." Jorindath struck her as a capable dragon, if she could keep her mind on what she was doing. The Violet was a bit... Green-ish at times. Nayarath could keep her in line though.
Kora shifted uncertainly as L'han spoke again, unsure of what to say on that. The chances of Wuith winning a Flight two different times with two different queens- especially when one of those queens was Nayarath- was definitely unlikely. If only Weyrleaders could be decided in a different way; Kora didn't want to think about who would get it next. As if the idea of waking up in bed with some random rider wasn't bad enough, she didn't know who would do well leading the Weyr.
I won't choose badly next time, Nayarath assured her rider. Don't worry yourself.
"You've still got a while, at any rate," Kora finally said. Like Nayarath had said, there wasn't much point in worrying about it until the situation was at hand- there wasn't much predicting it.

"Hopefully dear Nayarath will grant me that luxury." L'han said with a hopeful smile. He had maybe a few months left, come summer when a warmer climate tended to aid in triggering mating flights. He was never ment to be Weyrleader, so now he could hope to return to being weyrsecond.
"I think that's everything then. I've checked with Lord Teval and a number of smaller cotholds and all seems well for Fall. And our guests shall be with us till they are capable of leaving," reffering to S'saer's injuries, "or over stay their welcome." Which was more directed at Liona and any others that showed up. Nayarath might have her arguements but the decision was up to Kora and himself.

Kora blushed slightly, uncertain. "I guess you never know..." But for the most part, she did. It wasn't likely. Not that she minded the idea...
What do you think, Wuith? Nayarath wasn't against talking to the Tan, she was just bothered that he would fall for a Violet, of all things. A Green would be bad enough, but another queen? The Gold just didn't approve.
Kora nodded, still mostly ignoring her dragon. "It would be better if they left when S'aer got better, unless they plan to actually join the Weyr." And she was sure they didn't. Kora had seen how some men looked at Liona, and could imagine what her life was like as one of probably few Greenriders among plenty of men with male dragons, and really didn't like it. Sometimes she wanted the woman gone as much as Nayarath did, and L'han considering them staying brought up that feeling agian.

Kelth was easy to catch, I was barely trying. You are stronger, faster and much more beautiful then she. I look forwards to chasing you again Wuith replied. It might not have answered her question completely, but there was little joy in chasing greens. L'han didn't enjoy those either.
The tanrider on the other hand tried to stay composed untill Kora finished speaking. "It shall be done, Weyrwoman." He turned to leave but stopped at the door and turned back with a gentle smile. "You know, I've never see you blush before. Its really quite cute."

Nayarath snorted. Flattery will get you nowhere, Tan. But surely Kelth couldn't be much harder to catch than a Green; and the Violet had probably let Wuith win to spite the Gold. She had always known there was something bad about her.
Kora nodded and stood as L'han started to go, but her face grew hot again as he thought to make a final comment. "Er... thanks." Squeak chittered softly, his version of a laugh. He had calmed down quite a bit since L'han had first arrived, and Kora was surprised to suddenly feel his vague feelings of disappointment at the rider leaving.

Seeing the kagan being less timid he kneeled down and tried to coax it out. Probably wouldn't work, but it was worth a try. "Good to see you come out, little buddy."
Wuith was hurt by Nayarath's accusal, wasn't what he said truth? He was roughly 4 Turns old, he had chased greens and he didn't fancy them at all. L'han didn't perticularly like any of their riders either, so why fly in circles for no accomplishment?

Squeak shrank back when L’han’s hand suddenly loomed closer, but when no other frightening things happened, the Kagen inched forward, inclining his gray head towards the Tanrider’s fingertips. He sniffed cautiously, still wary now that L’han was suddenly dealing with him rather than His.
“He nips sometimes, so watch out,” Kora warned, looking fondly down at Squeak. His long whiskers twitched; he had no plans to hurt his new friend. Instead, the Gravel bumped his nose happily against L’han’s palm, accepting him.
The little rat has interesting taste, Nayarath observed, keeping updated on everything happening through her mental link with Kora. I would have bitten him if I were that size.
Your size, he wouldn’t exist any more. Kora shook her head. What’s wrong with L’han anyways? But Nayarath didn’t have anything to say on that; instead the Gold mulled over why Wuith was silent again. Maybe her sarcasm had just gone over his head; most knew that there wasn’t a queen on Pern who didn’t appreciate praise for herself, and insults to her fellows.
