Some of the Kagen were not giving up on the attempt to infiltrate the dragonrider's weyrs, or at least the queen weyrs. This time a pair had decided to try and raise a batch underneath Jorindath's couch. They didn't care that it was any dragon's at all, they had been checking the place out before the big Violet had moved in. It was only fair that they got to keep their share, it wasn't like they needed much. But then the Sand whelped and so both parents set off for the Weyr Bowl, in search of the best grass. For their four babies, that would only do. Neither expected to come back to their young gone, not that they would mind the ease it would give them when it came to raising offspring. ((Little mammals are good at invading. xP Hopefully Jorindath won't eat them or something. Soot says Kagen don't taste good, at any rate. Anyways, this thread is open to anyone, but only people who don't have Kagen already can take one. - The first baby is a noisy one, full of squeaks and covered with red and white foan, an obvious Roan. He is a bit on the small side, but his long feet say that at some point in the future he's going to have a major growthspurt and get to laugh at anyone who doubted his size later. Inolyn's
- The second baby is gray and quite the opposite of his brother. He is doing his best to try and nibble a hole in the floor, who knows? Maybe there'll be grass under there. Beka's
- The third and fourth babies are of similar color and size, perhaps twins, but don't seem to like each other. The first one to seperate these two Peaches will be doing the little family a good turn. 1 is T'lat's
1 left! :3))

Jorindath's comments of hearing little noises in the rock were starting to concern Inolyn. The dragon couldn't desribe the sound, which made her rider worry even more. Finally the young woman desided to inspect the rock of thhe weyr, worried it might be ther roof caving in on them. Not a crack or chip to be found, Are you sure you heard something?
Yes! Its right here somewhere, little voices! Can't you hear them?
"Voices?" Now this really confused her. Following her dragon's lead, snooping around the weyr, Inolyn strained her ears to listen as hard as she could. There it was! Curiosity took over and after much searching eventually she found the kagen burrow.
"How did you not notice them? Oh well, call the weyr and see if someone wants one." They looked quite cute! Unable to help herself she picked up the little roan and started stroking the little creature. Being the biggest and most vocal, therefor maybe the healthiest, of the four she was least afraid of hurting him.
We found kagan babies! Come see!

Thank you Jorindath. Carefully polite as the barred responded, the dragon then tilted her head to see what her rider was doing. Oh, she was still doing that. Her rider was lying flat on her stomach, trying to coax Valiant out from under her bed, laughing softly as she did it. The sound made Mermaiyeth croon happily, during weyrlinghood, the dragon couldn't remember a time when she'd heard Beka laugh, if she ever had and the sound was so nice. Maybe it was having someone to love, she had Valient and herself, maybe she'd like another one. Mermaiyeth couldn't remember if it was her that had suggested getting the blue, but she wanted this one to be her idea.
"Valient!" Laughing as she spoke, Beka stretched her arm out to try and get the blue to come to her, only gaining a light hearted croon from the tiny blue. Glancing back over her shoulder to inquire what was going on from her dragon, Beka squeaked in surprise as the moment her attention was divided, Valient pounced happily on her hand. Laughing as she pulled the blue from under the bed, cradelling against her chest, she looked up as Mermaiyeth blinked innocently. Something about kagen babies. I was wondering whether to tell you, since we just got this big weyr all to ourselves...
Valient seemed pleased by the idea, though defensive as he remained perched on Beka's shoulder as she made her way to the violet rider's weyr. It was so odd, she had to stop herself thinking of everyone as weyrlings, maybe it was knowing Mermaiyeth would have to rise one day and the thought terrified her, she loved teh security and her dragon, btu she wasn't quite ready for anything. "Inolyn? Mermaiyeth passed on Jorindath's message, could I come and have a look please?"

"Oh, of course!" Inolyn proclaimed. Hearing the barredrider come in she had had a bit of trouble trying to stand without disturbing or scaring the small sweaking furball in her hands. He was such a cutie and Inolyn thoght his oversized feet were just the most adorable things she had ever seen. Not to mention his floppy ears!
"There are 3 more still in here, i don't know when the parents are coming back." It was a good thing Jorindath had moved out of the way, leaving more then enough room for a few people to get at the nest easily. The violet was very facinated at the baby kagans, but she was curious about all baby creatures. To think one day she would have her own...
The roan in her arms began sniffing at her arms and fingers, but the woman didn't know what that ment till she got a sharp nip. "Ouch! I guess you're hungry little guy." She knew by feeding it, she was going to commit to raising the roan as her pet. Thinking maybe she should ask T'lat about it first another sharp bite answered her question. Grabbing a handful of grasses from the ground just below her weyr, it was enough to keep her pet occupied for at least a little while.
Now a name... Looking at the small bite marks on her arm she had a pretty good idea in mind. "Nip, I hope you dont make a happing out of biting me!"

T'lat was quickly headed towards his weyr, it was obvious by how fast he was moving plus with the four flit's following him that he had a thing for pets. Quickly coming the door he basiclly slammed it open and stood there breathing hard for a moment. Then his eye's seemed to light up as he said "Were are the little darlings?" He hurried over and looked at the nest where the three were curled up. He looked at Inolyn and the one she was holding and said "They are so cute. I think we need another." He then reached down and picked up one of the Peach's and held it in his arms. He began to feed it with the grass Inolyn had used. He then said " I am going to call you Cutie." He then looked over at Inolyn and said "It looks like now we have a male and female one." He winked at her as he said this.
(Missa you can have the grey one.)

“Uh.. Okay. Thanks.” Surprised by the easy greeting, Beka ducked lightly into the violet riders weyr, reaching a hand up to touch Valient’s shoulder lightly. Once, she would have doubted the idea that she could ever look after anyone, anything for that matter. Yet, both Valient and Mermaiyeth seemed to have turned out fine, so maybe she could? Would it be a good idea to test that out on a creature far less hardy than the flitters or dragons? Was it right to let Mermaiyeth sweep her along in the waves of excitement, allowing her to even get excited. It was a good thing, she was sure that Mermaiyeth wasn’t just the tense, strict dragon all the time that she wasn’t always very… Well… Strict.
Stepping quietly towards the funny little creatures, Beka edged to the side as T'lat emerged, feeling instantly uncomfortable with the situation. She hated being around people who were 'together' they were mushy and, and... Stuff, it just made her feel really awkward. She was grateful for T'lat's picking of one of the females and gently bent to pick up the little grey one, laughing softly as he tried to nibble at her thumb instead. "He's gorgeous... Thank you Inolyn." She was getting better at smiles, and laughter and even gratitude. Smiling slightly at the pair, she backed off a little, "I dearly want to call you Nibble... But... Maybe... Chewy?" I like Chewy. Though he sounds like something to eat now. "Chewy it is."
(Lolz! Thank you Sparrow, Jenth and Yama!)

T'lat's suggestion wasn't lost on her, but other then a playful look she gave no other acknowledgement. They were with company. "What do we do with the last one?" Inolyn might be ocupied with her little furball, but she could still count. "Maybe we should leave her there, the parents might move off if they keep losing all their young."
While it might seem unfair to deny another wanting person the right to claim the little creature, the violetrider kinda liked the thought of living with Kagans. I don't mind them, i haven't before
You never even noticed them before Exactly!
